Reviews for Sandy Cove Hotel

Review 1:We were located in the Room 3 in the bayside annex building away from the hotel which appears to be a newly converted rear extension to a neighbouring house. We had a dirty towel and the TV didn't work. It was a very dark walk back to reception where I requested to be moved, as the TV was unwatchable. We were duly moved to Room 9 in the main building where we spent a pleasant evening. There was a problem with the water pressure in the shower the next morning as the power shower ground to a halt. It worked again after a short while.

Review 2:We were moved to another room on request. Vegetarian sausages were prepared on request at breakfast. Staff were very helpful and the hotel is a nice place with great views from the front rooms and dining room.

Review 3:The only negative was the tv in our room didn't seem to work, but we didn't come away to watch television so it really wasn't a problem!

Review 4:Friendly hotel in an outstanding location, would love to return in the summer months. We ate in the restaurant and the food was first class yet reasonably priced.

Review 5:The location was off the main site which was not made clear when we booked it. It was not well lit to walk to the main hotel and we got wet walking to breakfast. There was some building work that was going on and directly outside the room it was a mess in the morning and the main light walking to the chalet in the corridor did not work. Credit to the hotel, the next day they fixed the light and tidied up outside. The staff were great and the food was excellent. The property is in a great location with wonderful sea views and even though we were disappointed on arrival, the staff and management did all they could to make us feel wellcome. We would certainly go back

Review 6:Restaurant is over priced Food we had in the restaurant was dissapointing! Cold plate warmish food and some annoying child bashing their feet on the floor constantly! Restaurant toilets were filthy with someone's dinner remains around the bowl- hall ways were dirty and looked like it needed a good clean Bar was well stocked, enjoyed our drink once we had found a staff member to serve us! Room was nice with lovely sea view however bathroom was filthy with previous occupants hair in the plug hole and mould around the shower and bath taps Breakfast was nice ( was actually hot) but big black hair on our table cloth put us off ( may I suggest the long hair waiter tye his hair up and not spend the time tucking it behind his ears?! Had a look at the pool and sauna and was dirty again! Overall for the price of the rooms and food we expected a lot better May I suggest getting a professional cleaner company in and bleach anything that doesn't move?!

Review 7:Great location- lovely views

Review 8:The room had poor sound insulation. On first night didn't get to sleep til 2:30 am due to a party in main reception room. Could hear people in corridors and in adjacent room on both nights of our stay. Service in restaurant was chaotic with no one really sure which tables had ordered which courses

Review 9:View from the room Food was good and well presented

Review 10:Our room was not clean dinner was very poor and expensive . We were kept awake by barking dogs ! Overall very upsetting. Manager was away and has apologised. We still feel a refund of some sort would be appropriate.

Review 11:The view was amazing! Most of the staff were really friendly and professional

Review 12:Our one hour 10mins wait for a bar meal. Out of date condiment sachets in a bowl. Dated shabby easy chars in lounge area. Cobwebs all over, incl front entrance. Lack of staff. Overall, a lack of Management control & disciplines.

Review 13:The sea view is very good but the standard double we had just had two high bar stools and these made it possible (if you can mount them) to see over the window bottom. There were no other 'easy' chairs and no view from the bed except sky. Breakfast was good.

Review 14:It was all a bit tired and needs updating Lack of staff initially Room not prepared for a family when they had already confirmed the bookin

Review 15:The view from the room was great Restaraunt was good

Review 16:Nothing to dislike but there was a party on the Saturday night that was a little loud.you are advised of this when you book,so we cann't complain.

Review 17:Location was excellent for us as we wanted to explore and walk the area. The steps down to the cove were steep,200 plus steps, but well worth the effort!

Review 18:The room overall was very good, clean and comfortable. However a few small issues in the bathroom, grout falling out, cracks and mold in the corner. But very small issues to be fair.

Review 19:Great location, very romantic setting. Food was beautiful too, if a little expensive.

Review 20:To be honest - the price is high and you are paying top dollar because of the view. This is a 3 star hotel at 4-5 star prices. I have seen other reviews complaining about the noise from wedding parties, and I agree. These take place in a marquee to the front of the property and the music is loud until late at night. I appreciate that this is a business, but at the price paid, hotel guests' comfort should take priority over party revenues. The parking lot was full when we arrived back from dinner and we had to park in the road above the hotel...not good when it is cold and raining.

Review 21:The location and view from the front-facing rooms is stunning. The food in the restaurant is very good, at London prices and the cooked breakfast is also very good. Surrounding area is beautiful for walks down to the coves.

Review 22:The bath had no support rails to assist getting in and out. The breakfast was OK but tinned mushrooms and very fatty bacon. For a hotel of this rating expected better quality produce.

Review 23:Wonderful view, friendly staff, spacious room and clean in allareas.

Review 24:Given very plain room at the back when hotel half full. Bathroom cleanliness poor on arrival and remained so. Corridors and some areas really quite tatty and poor. Not a patch on home! Was going to try a bar meal after a long day but told restaurant food/prices or nothing after 1800....

Review 25:Location of hotel very pleasant. Restaurant food of high quality but portion sizing all over the place.

Review 26:brown brown brown everywhere No fresh flowers anywhere Needs a bit of updating Needs attention to detail

Review 27:View stunning Beautiful location Relaxing Spacious

Review 28:Dirty room in places, cobwebs. Missing piece of window blind on window next to reception. Noise as wedding party until 12 midnight

Review 29:Food and staff were very good

Review 30:The welcome on the front desk was non-existent. It took 5 minutes for someone to come & attend to us, & when they did, we were made to feel that we were interrupting them! The room was in the older part of the building, & was therefore creaky, & tired. Some of the furniture needed throwing out. The soundproofing of the adjacent corridor & stairway was poor., whilst the plumbing was noisy. The car park was inadequate at times - a wedding reception on the Saturday evening meant there were insufficient spaces for hotel guests - and the surface was potholed & steep in places. The staff training seemed inadequate, with no sense of priority or structure.

Review 31:The view from the bedroom was nice but overstated! The evening meal was extremely good, well presented, well cooked, & served with a smile.

Review 32:Superior, sea view room overpriced @ £210 per night : curtain hanging off rail and no bath plug - both dealt with within 24 hours. Lack of clothes hook in bathroom. Insufficient hangers in wardrobe. No biscuits or snacks on hospitality tray. Need for revamp in original part of hotel. Is it unavoidable for guests with luggage to transit the dining room at meal times?

Review 33:Excellent food at competitive prices. Friendly, polite, helpful staff. Help with luggage available. Bedroom and upper floor corridor nicely decorated.

Review 34:The extremely tired bedroom, e.g. toilet not fixed to floor, screws had rotted away Having to walk through active restaurant full of dinners to get to and from bedroom The sections of the hotel not upgraded looking very tired Although food was very well cooked and presented very artistically there was so little on the plate we left the table hungry

Review 35:The views from bedroom and front of hotel were stunning. The half of the hotel that had been revamped good. Overall location and local setting with astounding views Food and drink prices were reasonable

Review 36:I liked it all, breakfast lovely

Review 37:We stayed in seperate bungalow across the road it was still being worked on,but room was nice and modern and clean, worth it.

Review 38:we stayed in the Bay View a few yards away from the hotel itself. although the room was bigger than that offered to us in the main hotel, it was rather cold and damp and there didn't appear to be any means of switching the radiator on

Review 39:the swimming pool and sauna - lovely view from the terrace, which we would have sat on more, but it was too cold one day and there was a wedding taking place there when we first arrived.

Review 40:Bad lighting in car park and door at off site rooms. Bed uncomfortable. Breakfast not nice. Had to wait for a table at breakfast even though there was tables available. Reported something falling off the shower and was not fixed. Towels had stains on. Bar closed even though night receptionist said it would close at midnight. We went at 11:30pm and no staff around at all. Muddy car park. Noisy shower and walls so thin can hear people's conversation though the wall.

Review 41:nothing

Review 42:The food in the restaurant was very good but a little expensive to eat in there every night. We ordered room service but again was expensive for what we ordered and I think the £7.50 service charge was unnecessary!! The door to the bathroom and the wardrobe were very stiff, possibly an older person would have struggled to open them! They need an adjustment to make them easier to open.

Review 43:All the staff were very helpful and friendly! The room was lovely and modern. There was plenty of storage space and the en suite was large and the shower was good with loads of hot water. The pool and steam/sauna were lovely and free to use so that was very nice. The breakfast, included in the room, was excellent!!

Review 44:Restaurant staff were helpful but could be slightly more efficient and attentive with clearer communication about processes and seating etc. They were still good but lacked a little confidence.

Review 45:View was stunning. Huge bed in our standard room!! Massive bathroom and room. Receptionist was lovely. Grounds were great.

Review 46:To get to the bar and toilets you had to pass the restaurant not good as at the time there was a wedding going on. Cleanliness.in the lounge area tables were not cleared and outside tables.our glasses were still in the lounge area the next morning when we went to breakfast. Carpet in lounge dirty.

Review 47:The views from the gardens looking out to sea was lovely. The room we had was new and comfortable

Review 48:Room 1 is a nice enough room but very noisy as next to two main doors

Review 49:Lovely staff, very pleasant. Great location and handy for Ilfracombe area. Food delicious. Clean and comfortable. Would definitely stay again

Review 50:Beach too far unless you want to take a treacherous 210 steps to a local cove .. restaurant service was way too slow and it wasn't that busy

Review 51:The views are breathtaking, food was good

Review 52:The views were ruined by the smell of leaking gas into the room when we complained we were told the hotel had not switched the gas on which was proved to be a lie.

Review 53:the sea views

Review 54:Not easy for walking around the surrounding area - there are no pedestrian paths on the road. The breakfast service has room for improvement - the first day we waited half an hour for someone to take our order - and that is with me requesting them to take our order 3 times! On the second day we had our order taken and delivered promptly, however halfway through eating my mum found a hair in her breakfast - so we were not very lucky at all! The food itself was nice but service could be much better. The rooms/bathroom could be cleaned better during the stay - the floors were left messy as they were. Wifi could be provided in the rooms (it was only in the public areas - lounge, restaurant etc).

Review 55:The view from our sea facing room was beautiful. The location was good - you could get to many different places within around a 10-15 minute drive. There are so many places to visit - Watermouth castle is 5 minutes away, there is an aquarium, harbour, tunnel beaches within 10-15mins. Woolacombe beach is amazing and totally deserves its award - long stretch of golden sand, it is about a 20min drive from the hotel. My 1 year old had a cot in her room and a highchair provided at breakfast. The swimming pool, steam and sauna rooms were lovely and perfect to relax in during the rainy weather.

Review 56:TV didn't work older man on reception in hotel ignorant, checked under bed when packing to go home and cound'nt believe the dirt , dust old tissues and party poppers under there, spoilt the holiday.also felt second class having to pay up front because we booked through booking.com

Review 57:Great hotel, but we were in a building site across the road

Review 58:There was hairs on bathroom floor long black ones I have blond hair and there was a lot of hairs on pillows and again a couple of long black hairs on bed did wonder if bedding had Been changed? Did not want to kick up fuss as was there with my mother celebrating her 80th birthday and did not want to upset her.

Review 59:The view out of our window was fantastic . The room was very nice on first impression.

Review 60:Having to check out!

Review 61:The hotel was just perfect, clean and very friendly staff that we're so welcoming. The rooms are modern and very clean and the views you honestly can't put a cost of the views of the sea and cliffèedges. Breakfast was also very good to be honest you can't fault this hotel.

Review 62:Mild annoying to try to have a relaxing romantic dinner with wine (£100+) while kids play pool/snooker 20ft away and you can hear the loud Wigfield cheesy music coming from the wedding disco! Very noisy in the rooms as we were right by the stairs and the fire door squeaked every time someone opened it!! Breakfast could be better with more selection of fresh fruit. Staff mediocre.... not many going that extra mile for what seems a high priced b&b with a newish restaurant raking in the money. Put some of the profit back into the hotel rooms!!

Review 63:Lovely view from our room however spoiled by the smell of smoke wafting in from the decking below. You pay a higher price for a sea view which is spoiled by this!! Pool and sauna are lovely, dinner was great and tasted amazing.

Review 64:The staff were not friendly and very slow. It was over priced and the breakfast was cold. The bacon was awful the sausages were nice. Was not allowed to put drinks on our room as wedding guests this was not stated and was not allowed to buy drinks at the bar as we were wedding guests!!! When I booked in we were told we Could!

Review 65:The room was nice, and the beautiful view

Review 66:There is nothing to dislike about this fine hotel and surroundings.

Review 67:The perfect location for views, walking and relaxing. Great facilities of a pool, gym and sauna plus the hotel is just so comfortable throughout with an olde English charm. The dining room has been refurbished since we stayed previously giving a beautiful crisp retro look. The hotel upgraded us to a beautiful honeymoon suite with its own balcony and stunning views as we were informed there was a problem with the basin in our booked room. This was a complete surprise and certainly enhanced our stay here. All the staff were very friendly and greeted us with a smile each time we passed them. We stayed this time on a B&B basis and the breakfasts were excellent with lots of choice and perfectly cooked. We usually stay to include dinner which we have always found to be of a high standard and the chef is most certainly a talented, imaginative and excellent cook. The lady who greeted us, Barbara, was lovely and friendly, making us feel extremely welcome and who made the time to chat with us as we went out and came in. The lady in the dining room who greeted us for breakfast also had a lovely way about her and made us feel very welcome and relaxed. Any requests were taken in their stride and responded to if they were able to help. Definitely an excellent place to stay for relaxation and superb views of a stunning coastline. Also a perfect setting as a wedding venue. which the hotel offers as well.

Review 68:Room too expensive but marketed as discounted .This was misleading and dishonest . Other guests were paying far less .How come? Not too clean and tidy

Review 69:Location, pool

Review 70:A little more attention to detail would make this hotel even more special.

Review 71:The cliff top setting is just amazing. The grounds are beautiful and the view to die for.

Review 72:We paid extra to have a sea view - which unfortunately meant that we were at the front of the hotel in range of the very noisy wedding. We had a 2mth old baby, so it was a nightmare stay - not to mention the drunk wedding party shouting outside. The hotel rooms are also very dated and don't represent the price

Review 73:Great location and view - ultimately, that's what you're paying for.

Review 74:One downside was the lack of activities on site (especially if staying with young children), although it does have many family attractions near such as Watermouth Castle which is in walking distance. Another downside was our room in the Bayside part of the hotel (just behind the main hotel). Although the furnishings and style of the room were lovely, the cleanliness of the room was not well maintained and the shower was falling to pieces. Another bad part of the room were the lights above the bed which when turned off, still glowed continuously. This made it very hard for my partner and I to get to sleep as the light was bright enough to cast a shadow. .

Review 75:Beautiful location - hidden hotel surrounded by woods and sea views. The hotel offers great food, friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere.

Review 76:On check in we were not informed that you have to make reservation for dinner. On arrival in the restaurant we were questioned if we had a booking and it took 4 waitresses to find a table. The room was pre set for breakfast service already. Some of the staff lacking training i.e. clearing glasses off the tables without trays.

Review 77:We stayed at The Rooms at The Bay. Brand new rooms and very comfortable. Had bar snack, dinner and breakfast. Food was quite enjoyable, however the chef is clearly afraid of using salt in the dishes. Drink prices were relatively good. The view from the restaurant is breathtaking.

Review 78:WiFi is horrible. Shower tap was temperamental.

Review 79:Excellent location. Nice spacious rooms. Big bed with sea view. Breakfast, staff, cleanliness is fine. We needed a baby cot, they managed it in time. Sauna and pool is brilliant.

Review 80:Adjoining room to ours had noisy occupants, also this room had squeaky floorboards which we could hear in our room. This kept us awake one night as we could everything the occupants were saying and doing! Food in the restaurant was also disappointing. Not good choices of food after six as restaurant only served ala carte food which wasn't great for children. We settled on the bar menu which was overpriced and also very dry when it arrived.

Review 81:Hotel overall was nice with lovely views. Swimming pool was good to.

Review 82:The restaurant was clean and well staffed. Our breakfast was hot, tasty and very filling. Unfortunately our evening meals although in parts very tasty and presented very well didn't quite live up to our expectations.

Review 83:The view from the hotel was amazing. Sitting out on the veranda with our evening drinks overlooking the bay was a real treat.

Review 84:The woman at the front counter should not be working for the hotel; she is an incompetent, ill mannered fool.

Review 85:The waiter at breakfast was friendly and did his job well.

Review 86:Mislead accomodation as not owned by hotel but sub let. Poor service, badly trained staff and dirty toilets. Slow inatentive service, dirty crockery/cutlery. Poor choice of food from so called breakfast buffet and cook it yourself toaster. Not good for a 3 star so called luxury hotel.

Review 87:Location only.

Review 88:Hotel claimed I had no booking but found it easily enough on booking.com Room was old and in need of refurbishing. Very small room sold as family room. Staff rude and unhelpful when I complained of being cold - it was 11 degrees outside but I was told 'it's July, we don't have heating in July.' In any other £190 per night I would have been offered a portable heater, and for that money I expect to be at least as comfortable as in my own home!

Review 89:The views are wonderful and most staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 90:Smell of smoke drafting into room. (Room 1). Rude owner- after wanting to change room due to not realising we were in bayside (which is not part of sandy cove hotel itself and not well highlighted on booking) we only asked to change rooms so that we were actually in the sandy cove hotel. For the price you pay you get a very underwhelming experience, food wasn't up to standard. Came out cold, wrong order twice and came with bits of egg shell in it. Not all rooms are up to the same standard. Which is a shame due to the price you pay. Parking within the facility is a nightmare to say the least. On the last day there was a wedding at the venue and parking become practically impossible. We weren't made aware of this so we couldn't make any sort of arrangement. When we actually got to the 'bayside' room there was building work going on upstairs which we were also not made aware of. There is only so much drilling and banging you can tolerate while wanting a relaxing holiday. There was also no TV signal, no towels and no soap in the bayside room.

Review 91:View from window. Receptionist was very helpful in changing our room.

Review 92:The walls were very thin and you could hear all the noise of the family next door. Room not part of hotel and very small (not worth price paid). Evening staff not willing to challenge noisy guests when noise didn't reduce. We had to leave at 00:15 in morning as could not sleep due to noise.

Review 93:The view from the front of hotel.

Review 94:Nothing to say enjoyed whole stay.

Review 95:Had an amazing stay at Sandy Cove celebrating our 10 year anniversary. The staff where amazing and willing to make suggestions for things for us to do and give us directions. The food that we had for breakfast was lovely with a good range of choice and the restaurant in an evening was fantastic.

Review 96:Very tiny portions for starters. Had to request second towel, mug etc as it was only set up for one person in a double room...

Review 97:The location, sauna and spa

Review 98:Breakfast could of been better, more choice, fresh fruit and different options rather than the same each day, especially if you are staying for few nights. bar food could of been availible longer than finish at 6pm, so only option then is the A lar carte menu, which is not to everybody choice if you been out all day.

Review 99:View and location of the hotel is amazing, however you are slightly restricted on walking anywhere local, as Illfacombe town is around 10 minute drive away.

Review 100:Variation with breakfast buffet, seemed to be lack of fresh fruit. nothing like a nice banana to start your day. Hard to fault the place really as everything was lovely.

Review 101:Staff = friendly, efficient , punctual, positive and enthusiastic.

Review 102:Wrong reservation of the room and no refund for it. The room was 3rd floor but no lift in the building. Not enough parking space. Could not reserve the restaurant in the weekend

Review 103:Sea view was excellent.

Review 104:Noisy. This old building though refurbished has no sound-proofing. You hear everyone walking about & opening or closing bedroom doors. There is no wi-Fi in rooms, only in the common parts downstairs. They took my payment twice by mistake & when I rang were curt & still have not rectified it..

Review 105:The location in a stunning spot. Very friendly receptionist. Nice clean room.Although we didn't take ours, it seemed incredibly dog-friendly.

Review 106:The hotel is a little tired and dated and needs some TLC. However, everything was clean.

Review 107:The view from the lounge is spectacular - great for having an evening drink in when it was raining, but there is a lovely outdoor terrace to sit on if the weather is good.

Review 108:1) The staff in reception could be very helpful and polite or not at all. 2) They had weddings both days so car parking was full. 3) If you have young children be aware of the stairs especially if you are staying in the new part of the hotel.

Review 109:1) The views were absolutely amazing! Great location. 2) Food was delicious. Chef took special care preparing my son's dairy and soya free food and it tasted great. 3) We stayed in room 55 which is awkward to get to but very spacious so my boys (1 and 3) had plenty of room to play. And, of course, had amazing views.

Review 110:the hotel as a lot of weddings so weekends are usually very busy to the point of being packed probably due to the view . the hotel must make a lot of money from the weddings that the guest staying there the rest of the week are a encumbrance.

Review 111:the view was outstanding the meals were good

Review 112:May need the odd lick of paint, but most of the critical comments made in previous reviews we found to be undeserved.

Review 113:Pleasant, understanding and helpful staff. Excellent food and a wonderful location. Very pet and person friendly.

Review 114:Room dirty in places. Tea and 'other' stains on walls, skirting boards and around toilet. Easily sorted by even normal cleaning but there seemed little care to the needs of the occupants. No wifi in rooms which is so basic and poor nowadays and is a complete deal-breaker for the future (last minute booking so little else available). Service at mealtimes was very slow from forgetting drinks to long waits at times and some questionnable fish breakfasts. I just got the sad feeling that overall guests are not a priority!

Review 115:Views and location. Staff friendly but slow service at mealtimes.

Review 116:Rooms need a few pounds spending on them but that's it!

Review 117:Had a great stay. Room was clean. The staff were excellent, polite, friendly and couldn't do enough. Food was very good. Book a sea view room, well worth it.

Review 118:The room was comfortable, although on closer look it was a little shabby and tired in places, the bedspread was a little thread bare, some of the curtain hooks were missing and there was hair on the bathroom floor and dust around the skirtings. It would have been nice to have some bottled water and maybe some biscuits to go with the tea and coffee.

Review 119:The location, the food and the hospitality.

Review 120:the bath was rusty around plug hole so we showered mainly...the black mould around bath edge could easily be removed and fresh sealant easily applied...otherwise great.

Review 121:staff were excellent, polite and friendly.rooms were clean but could do with a little tlc..breakfast great.

Review 122:needed to be cleaned more for the price you are paying. Dusty lamps, water stained tiles in the shower and there were hairs on the bathroom floor - needed a good mop

Review 123:Staff were really helpful and the location was beautiful from our sea view room. We ate from the bar menu on our first night and it was lovely as was the breakfast :)

Review 124:Lovely hotel in beautiful surroundings, particularly the sea view. Restaurant was light and clean and the food divine. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 125:The restaurant was disappointing. The evening meal was well presented and very tasty, but the portions were minute, and service poor. The corridors are a narrow maze, and the rooms have thin walls.

Review 126:The location.

Review 127:Brilliant location and amazing views. Just to note that although my room did have wifi connection not all rooms do as it is really only in public areas and then it just depends where your room is located. However your web site seems to indicate that wifi was available in the rooms.

Review 128:The hotel went from 4 star in the reception to 2 star in the corridors and stairway leading up to the rooms. Very shabby.

Review 129:The. Location and sea views are fantastic.

Review 130:awful smell in the garden due to full cesspit, also smell in room when wind blew due to above, floor grout coming out of tiles in bathroom and tatty window sill, no lock on bathroom door, room looked to be newly decorated. No fridge in room or biscuits with the tea/coffee.

Review 131:the view, quiet location, power shower

Review 132:Staff are quite patronisingly, "bar" meals are expected to be eaten at sofas and coffee tables, when I asked to sit at a proper table to eat my dinner they did say yes but explained that because I was sat in a different class " they have a al a carte menu too" I would have to wait longer for my meal, this made me and my partner feel uncomfortable as the guests on the surrounding tables heard this explained to us

Review 133:Location is beautiful, the views are absolutely stunning

Review 134:WIFI was at best useless. No mobile phone signal O2 or Vodaphone. No food available after 3.00pm to 7.00pm. Unable to do any work in my room. Great for tourists - never a business hotel.

Review 135:Only had to stay 1 night

Review 136:Nothing really to complain about. The WiFi is a bit slow but it's free and it's rural Devon!

Review 137:Lovely, friendly and knowledgeable staff, great pool/spa facilities and a great breakfast. Oh I forgot the view!!! Amazing.

Review 138:Shocking atmosphere in dining room for dinner. Rubbish main courses. How they have a rosette is beyond me.

Review 139:Great views. Reception staff lovely. Room nice.

Review 140:Stained bedroom carpet and throw. "Matteo"lookalike barman very off Standish...did tend to make us feel like we were a nuisance rather than welcoming. If rooms were updated to standard of the positive comments this place would be a goldmine.

Review 141:Location was superb.food was fantastic dining room plush

Review 142:The position of the hotel is idyllic, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was fine for us and our baby daughter. We used the pool which was warm. I would definately recommend sandy cove and intend to return soon with my other 2 children aswell.

Review 143:Mixture in quality of rooms, some rooms very dated. Service at meal times was disorganised, one course was missing during our main meal (Birthday girls meal) replacement didn't arrive until all others had long finished.

Review 144:Fantastic location, lovely spa area, great food and lovely staff.

Review 145:The room booked was supposed to be a smoking room but when checked in was not told wasn't smoking room. Only by asking after going to room were we told you could not spoke. Had an outside balcony space but it was shared with another room so could not smoke there-a little disappointing. Due to the hotel being very busy the car park was hard to park in, in there had been lines painted to show the spaced more cars would have fitted and it would not have been a problem but some cars left large spaces between each other.

Review 146:Room was spacious and well laid out with a lovely bathroom. The breakfast was great and food ordered from bar menu was good value for money.

The Fine Print
