Reviews for Hillside Bed and Breakfast
Review 1:Didn't like lack of ensuite/private facilities (missed this on details given) No fruit available with breakfast
Review 2:Perfectly acceptable B&B Really good local pub with superb food in walking distance
Review 3:Wifi throughout the b&b would have made a better experience .. Hadn't realised until we arrived that it was a shared bathroom, maybe off putting but didn't actually cause us any issues.
Review 4:We couldn't have asked for a more friendly and helpful host. Mandy was so welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. She was an absolute star.. Bedding and towels all lovely and fresh and a beautiful home cooked breakfast.
Review 5:Landlady very welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble. Full English breakfast was generous. Place was comfortable and spotless. Village was quiet & there was parking outside. Superb food at pub nearby.
Review 6:No ensuite, not good with 4 trips to the toilet in the night. Have to pay cash for room. Too much clutter, feels like your in someones front room.
Review 7:Very warm and friendly welcome. Very clean, good breakfast.
Review 8:I feel a bit mean writing this but the decor was too much for me .... Very opposite to my own personal taste. That's it really.
Review 9:The owners are very friendly and helpful and do their best to please. Very quiet location trouble free accommodation. Nice bathroom with bath and shower. The decor took me back a bit at first, not used to so much fuss and ornaments but got used to it, plenty took at !! Basically family home cum b&b . Landlady very jolly and helpful, I had a nice relaxing stay. Just one night. Excellent food at the village pub. Bit expensive but top notch. Didn't get to try the breakfast as I was up and away early to do an event but the owner made me a bacon sandwich to take with me. Plenty of assorted cereals to choose from too. Can't complain....
Review 10:Stairs going up to twin bed room on upper floor were very narrow especially for a larger person, also steep.
Review 11:location, friendliness, responsiveness, quiet, personal touches.
Review 12:the breakfast - all the little touches you'd only expect in a 5* hotel! - chocolates and help yourself to hot drinks - lovely fluffy dressing gowns ....
Review 13:Nothing not to like really. Yes, en suite would have been good, or even just a sink in the room, but the fact that there wasn't was reflected in the price, which made it great value for money.
Review 14:Excellent location, convenient for the Dales and minutes from the A1, in a peaceful village with a good pub. Guest house is friendly and cheerful, spotlessly clean, and does brilliant breakfasts!
Review 15:Nothing. Would prefer en suite but the price reflects this + the bathroom was clean + warm.
Review 16:Great bath + shower, very comfortable bed, warm, good breakfast, lovely village with pub a few doors along.
Review 17:Shared toilet, bathroom, but this is reflected in price and wasn't too much of a problem.
Review 18:Owners were really welcoming. Accommodation was spotless. Breakfast was exceptional.
Review 19:would have preferred being able to make coffee in my own room, rather than going downstairs, but perhaps room too small to make this possible.
Review 20:location, friendly owner, comfortable bed, good value for money
Review 21:It's not a question of not liking anything - we were very happy staying here. But it's not grand - don't expect en-suite bathroom facilities! We had read the completely honest description of the B&B, knew what to expect and would happily return.
Review 22:Mandy was extremely welcoming and wonderfully helpful - ensuring that we had a table reserved in a nearby pub for dinner. Nothing was too much to ask... More than enough for breakfast too!
Review 23:Mandy and Robert are great hosts and we received a warm welcome on arrival. The bedrooms have been recently refurbished to a very high standard and are spotlessly clean. There was no shower only a bath but they are due to install one very soon. The breakfasts were delicious, the eggs fresh from their hens and our every whim was catered for. Hillside is a family home which radiates warmth and friendliness, my children loved collecting eggs and putting the hens and ducks to bed at night.Mandy and Robert wonderful Yorkshire folk and we left wanting to return as soon as possible.Hillside is a proper home from home bed and breakfast and I have no hesitation recommending it to others. Thank you for a great stay x
Review 24:I know a shower is on the cards. Enjoyed a bath but a shower is quick and easy.
Review 25:Mandy was a wonderful host. Is a home not just paid for accommodation. Breakfast was fantastic.
Review 26:Bathroom facilities are absolutely inadequate for the number of rooms. One bathroom with no toilet or shower and only one toilet without a wash hand basin for all guests on one floor is not good.
