Reviews for La Bastide de Soubeyras

Review 1:Size of the room was ok, but did not fit to the expectation

Review 2:The atmosphere which makes the big difference in this place from the moment your arrive, and getting around the premises , till the breakfast in the owners dining room with a view, where you are forced to make phots immediately . Locations is perfect for nearby city tours, while you can keep your privacy during the nights.

Review 3:when we book the hotel we notice the high ranking of 9.4 and when we stay there we can say it can even be more! Eve is so helpful not only help us park the car but also book table for us for the restaurant. just love the house!

Review 4:No WiFi

Review 5:The hosts, Eve and Yves, to be confusing, were delightful, very friendly and welcoming. Eve spoke very good English for those who can't manage French. The position, between the villages of Beaumettes and Mènerbes, just off the main D900 via Domitia road was very convenient.

Review 6:The online pictures don't do justice to the tastefully decorated rooms and the gorgeous grounds of this hotel. The high quality robes, towels and amenities in the bathroom gave the feel of a property double the price. The included breakfast was very good with excellent coffee. The owners greet you upon arrival and ensure your stay is everything you want it to be.

Review 7:The village it self was not so beautiful, but it's very close to a lots of villages, an a small area with a good places to eat.

Review 8:The couple that have the b&b, was so nice and helped us so much: recommend to us a very good restaurant, and found for us a b&b in Lyon. The breakfast was great, and the room was so beautiful.

Review 9:The whole facility looks amazing, with the views of Menerbe and the surrounding country. The grounds are also lovely. Our hosts were most helpful and welcoming. They arranged reservations for us every night to excellent restaurants to sample local cuisine. Also loved the fragrance in our rooms.

Review 10:A large road mirror at the exit of the driveway would help with road safety on exiting the property

Review 11:The outlook over the swimming pool to Menerbes particularly with the setting sun, the outdoor kitchen facilities and tables, and the welcoming hosts and breakfasts all contributed to a most enjoyable stay

Review 12:Friendly helpful owners

Review 13:The hosts were amazing, very friendly and made us feel at home. We loved the beautiful setting with views of the mountains and the village.

Review 14:Beautiful setting in the country overlooking Menerbes with delicious breakfast and friendly hosts.

Review 16:location hospitality

Review 17:Excellent I. Every way.

Review 18:Welcoming owners Outside kitchen excellent

Review 19:Shower arrangement difficult to use

Review 20:The property was magnificent with many facilities - outdoor kitchen etc

Review 21:Everything was perfect. Thank you!

Review 22:Good localization for visiting various villages around. Friendly hosts and very comfortable rooms.

Review 23:The grounds, the elegant decor, the lounge and coffee-making area outside our room, the delicious breakfast and the friendly hosts!

Review 24:Agree with all the reviews...such a great location, and wonderful hosts who feel like friends. Such a beautiful B&B, in every way.

Review 25:As I mentioned, nearly everything was perfect and far above other places of the same price. The only thing that might have improved it would be AC in the rooms, and the shower. The shower kept switching between warm and cold and would not stay at an exact temp. But that is the only less than glowing report I can give.

Review 26:I loved basically everything. If anything the location is under advertised. It is a villa on top a hill with a wonderful view of Menton. Far preferred it to being in the city itself. Breakfasts, fellow guests and the hosts were all lovely, and the grounds were perfect. Was tempted to just stay there rather than sight see!

Review 27:Beautiful house in Provence . Comfortable rooms, delicious breakfasts, nice territory. We were happy to stay there for two days and visiting small towns in Provence, wish we stay longer.

Review 28:Hmmmmm.........let me think if i can come up with something.........

Review 29:Yves and Eve went out of their way to accommodate us! We were a large group and they handled us all seemingly effortlessly. Such care and attention to details in our rooms. Eve has a flair for putting together both the interiors and the grounds. Yves serves an excellent breakfast, and his orientation talk we had upon arrival was informative. The place is excellently centered in the Luberon close to great small towns and exploring on your own both by bicycle or car, your choice.

Review 30:We had amazing stay in La Bastide de Sobeyras for 2 nights as part of our tour in Provence. The location is excellent, up on a hill, with magnificent view to Menerbes from the terrace, very convenient to tour the small villages around. The stone house was so charming, with the beautiful garden, pool, veranda area, the rooms were very cozy furnished in the typical rustic style. And last but not least the hosts were so kind and friendly, recommending us what is worth seeing the most and where to eat. We have to mention the home fragrance perfume that was in the rooms, it was just the best one we have smelled so far and to our surprize the host were selling it together with unique candles and of course we bought a few. We will definately come back but next time for a week and with the kids. 2 Families from Bulgaria

Review 31:The only negative, which according to Peter Mayle's "A Good Year" seems to be a " French plumbing thing in this region" is the low hanging hand-held shower which made a bit of a mess with no shower curtain

Review 32:The people, Yves and Eve were very welcoming and friendly. The breakfasts were fantastic and my gluten allergy was well catered for, which can often be difficult. On the gluten-eating side my hubby thought the bread for breakfast was the best he had tge whole time we were in France. Eve makes her own yoghurt and that was yummy too. The views from the property are superb. There is a cycling track nearby which takes you to Apt and beyond. It was very quiet and the beds were comfy. The pets that were there were very friendly and allowed me my "animal fix" to minimise missing the pets from home

Review 33:My only complain was that instead of a typical shower, we had a bathtub with a shower wand. However, I would definitely stay there again.

Review 34:We truly enjoyed the beautiful property, the outstanding host and his wife. The property was difficult to find, but we called Yves and he drove to us and had us follow him. The property was outstanding, the grounds, including pool were magnificent! The host even made a dinner reservation for us at a lovely restaurant in Menerbres. We were sorry we did not stay longer!

Review 35:Very good location to use as a base to discover the adjoining villages and towns. The house itself deserves a day of full attention. The hosts are exceptional people who will do their best to make your trip memorable. I really had a great time and will definitely send my parents to spend at least a week during the summer. Overall, a truly memorable experience.

Review 36:Would have preferred to have a shower rather than a bath in the ensuite.

Review 37:Beautiful location. The house is very pretty with lovely furnishings. The gardens are very well kept. The owners were very welcoming andexcellent hosts.

Review 38:Difficult to find as many b/b. No conditioning in room, in summer can be a problem. Curtain for bath tub could be useful. It was not convenient to check in in concrete period of time (5-6.30PM) as we were travelling to different parts of France everyday staying just one night in each hotel.

Review 39:Nice villa with elegant design, outdoor pool, big garden, nice view, friendly owners give advise for restaurants (nearest restaurant in ~700 m) and can make reservation. Cat & dog.

Review 40:Absolutely nothing...it was perfect.

Review 41:Eve and Yves have created such an exquisite experience!! This was trulyone of the most delightful places we've ever stayed...the interiordesign is gorgeous, Yves made a fantastic dinner for us, and the wholeexperience was an absolute delight...plus Eve was so so helpful, as 3 ofour party had just had their passports stolen earlier in the day and shereally helped us with the police report...

Review 42:Beautifully appointed rooms with special attention paid to providing additional facilities like the outdoor kitchen that made for a very relaxed stay.

Review 43:The bastide is incredibly beautiful, the same owners are in charge and they serve you personally, very friendly and helpful, the location is stunning and close to all the villages of luberon, we did 8 villages in one day in a radius of 16km from the BASTIDE, the rooms are amazing, I definately recommend it and will be going back there in a few months .

Review 44:This is the nicest part of Provence and Yves and Eve know how to greet people and make them feel at home. A Charming villa perched on top of a hill with an eagle's view of the countryside and nestled within France's best wine and fruit tree region it is a paradise if you want to experience great fresh food and southern hospitality. Surrounded by great little towns like Gorde, Roussillion, Lacoste, L'Ille sur la Sorgue, andMenerbes. Highly recommend this place.

Review 45:Just everything perfect.

Review 46:Very nice, quiet and well maintained location, friendly owners. You'll have a high chance for superb dinners, when you follow the restaurant advise of Yve & Eve.

Review 47:The building was beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Eve and Yves were lovely hosts, helpful with planning dinner reservations and day trips. Breakfast was large, fresh and delicious.

Review 48:No separate or standing shower in the room.
