Reviews for Leonardo Hotel London Heathrow Airport
Review 1:Ideally placed for onward travel through Heathrow Airport. Rooms remarkably quiet, given that the hotel overlooks the airport. Parking is easy - underneath the hotel. Breakfast is good with a wide variety of tastes catered for. The restaurant is open more or less through the day, ideal for travellers.
Review 2:Clean, tidy, good room space, close to the airport. wifi good. The staff advised a taxi to the airport for an extra $1 as I use a walking stick Well done the staff
Review 3:Expensive car parking, despite park being half-empty. No draught Guinness at bar.
Review 4:Convenience to airport. Clean, efficient & functional. Efficient personal wake-up call rather than automated.
Review 5:Perfect for my needs - dropping & collecting family from Heathrow. Hoppa service ideal. Rooms quiet despite being across the road from runway, and blackout curtains truly blackout!
Review 6:The room was very cold and did not warm up when I adjusted the thermostat.
Review 7:Easy access from airport and road. Very nice breakfast Was able to use the room until 12 noon.
Review 8:Food and drink a bit pricey. I would have walked to a nearby pub instead of using the restaurant, but it was bad weather when I stayed.
Review 9:Comfortable bed and quiet at night. A 5 minute walk from Business Parking Terminals 2&3. To and from Terminal 2 using H4 Hoppa bus was easy.
Review 10:I had some issues with my holiday circumstances which were out of mycontrol and meant unfortunately I had to cancel my holiday - hotelLeonardo did absolutely nothing to help at all. I called to explain thesituation and was asking if there was anything we could do to help meout in this horrible time whether it be change the stay for a later dateor cancel. I didn't even get an apology from the staff I spoke withwhen I was told there was nothing they could do. This was a he'dtime for me and well talk about knocking you when you're down! Ieven emailed the hotel as I was most unhappy with the service and Ididn't even get a reply! My partner and I couldn't afford tolose this stay so we drove 2 hours just to stay at the hotel. On arrivalI said I needed to park my car which cost £12 (no problem at all) I wastold by the receptionist that I could pay this in the morning. My debitcard and the hotel was paid for by a different card we didn't useanymore. We went to check out and was ready to pay for the parking and Iwas told there was nothing to pay, the receptionist didnt listen to meand charged the £12 to the card I asked her not too! Simple requestslike this they can't even get right. I mentioned it to the differentreceptionist that was on in the morning and she just said 'well shetook the payment last night' I didn't get a sorry or anything! If it wasn't for the convenience of this hotel for our next holidayI would never stay here again the staff are rude and have no care on anycustomers feelings.
Review 11:I have used this hotel before, LOVE it. Great location - just across the road from the airport with an excellent shuttle bus. Really nice staff, lovely rooms, ideal.
Review 12:I booked a triple room consisting of a double bed and a twin bed. When we arrived they gave me 3 twin beds. I had to remind them of my original booking, so they gave me a handicap room which was a little difficult to maneuver.
Review 13:Very thin walls and you can hear everything going on in the next bedroom! Air con is a little too cool and can't be altered in bedrooms
Review 14:Restaurent and bar is nice and well decorarated
Review 15:Limited flexibility for breakfast timing. We arrived late from Canada and UK time difference meant we were late to rise.. And a rental car was dropped off at the end of breakfast seating.. I would have liked 30 minutes to eat :)
Review 16:Staff and breakfast was amazing
Review 17:1) Information regarding shuttle to hotel was misleading. Appeared that hotel shuttle was included. Then found out it was necessary to take public bus (for free, took an hour to get to hotel) or taxi. Would have been helpful to have particulars in advance, regarding getting to hotel. 2) Front desk staff member said he would schedule taxi for planned departure. Then, coincidentally talking to other staff later that evening, determined no reservation was made. That staff member than made reservation and offered wake-up call. (Apparently, service is very dependent on who you may talk to) 3) No information regarding Wi-fi access provided. Had to return to Front desk in order to get this information. 4) Entered room in evening and was unable to turn on any lights. Had to return to Front desk to get information regarding need to insert door key card into 'box near door' in order to operate lights. (this is an effort to conserve electricity use). Would have been helpful to have known this information without needing to inquire further. 5) Limited towels: one bath towel and one hand towel in bathroom. 6) Noisy first floor room: not soundproof - noise in hallway after 9pm: people talking loudly and children running down hall. Could hear coughing in next room. 7) Room was directly along driveway. Unable to open window due to safety and car exhaust. 8) No TV or music access without extra cost. 9) No clock in room. 10) Food from restaurant was mediocre. Prices high for what was available.
Review 18:Spacious enough room with comfortable bed. Cleanliness. Bathtub. Hot water. On-site restaurant. Morning wake-up call was timely.
Review 19:For a 4 stars hotel there are many things missing. The most unbelievable is the complete lack of a minibar, bathrobe and at least a bottle of water in the room when you arrive.
Review 20:Easy connection with the airport.
Review 21:There was no heating in my room, in December, which the receptionist seemed aware of when I told her. She did bring me a heater, but that is beside the point, the room should not have been let, if it was not heated, particularly for me as a cancer patient!
Review 22:Staff were very helpful and polite
Review 23:We were not told in advance that an additional deposit of £50 was payable. The staff member said this was to cover any additional expenses. However, the hotel room had an empty mini bar and so it was impossible to have additional expenses. The lack of pre-warning (re deposit) and uninterested staff made me feel mugged off and not welcomed.
Review 24:Only thing I would say is that our tea and coffee facilities hadn't been replenished
Review 25:I like the location as it is located next to my families road. So when we come to stay we are close. We also like to fly from Heathrow when we go on holiday and there is a bus that stops right outside that goes into the airport free of charge
Review 26:Wifi suppose to be free but they charge after few hours usage. In small hotels it is free not talking of a big hotel who charge higher per night.
Review 27:The staff are dedicated and perfect in attending to complains.
Review 28:We booked two rooms with 2 beds in each room and were given 2 rooms with 1 bed in each room, very annoying considering one room is to be ocupied by one adult and 2 older children
Review 29:Stayed night before an early flight to Australia, great shuttle bus service from outside hotel and the whole stay made our holiday start a day earlier. Thanks
Review 30:They hold £50 when you book in (bearing in mind we already paid £71 without breakfast, for the one night), to hold as a damage deposit and I was informed I could check my bank account in the evening to see that it had not been removed - a little difficult when your off on holiday.
Review 31:Proximity to airport and friendliness of staff
Review 32:nothing comes to mind
Review 33:Great staff made me feel really "at home". The room was close to reception and the restaurant. I have stayed here many times before and will be going back. Breakfast is a winner!
Review 34:1. No provision for International Electrical plugs for PC and iPhone ( very essential for a business traveler.) 2. Bath tub.shower drainage was rather slow. 3. There is miss information about the location- 1.3km distance is meaningless when the suggested bus shuttle makes 10 stops on the way. Perhaps you should have your own shuttle.
Review 35:1.The hotel receptionist were very courteous. 2. Comfortable bed.
Review 36:The signs was very confusing when getting off the bus to enter the hotel. The girl who checked me in was very rude. My room did not look like the picture that I seen online.
Review 37:Very posh upon entering the hotel
Review 38:No shops anywhere around it, I walked a at least a mile to the nearest convenience store and it didn't seem like too safe of an area, wifi didn't work
Review 39:Good location if you just want somewhere to stay after a flight, the shuttle bus service was reliable
Review 40:Way too experience for the room and experience. Couldn't change any currency at the front desk. Couldn't pay cash the room (for few hours). Had too many additional rates (earlier checkin, plug borrow, as I had a layover of 9hours in Heathrow, I was asking a earlier check-in from 11am and check-out around 5pm. Took ages to check-in. Couldn't reach the reception or room service from the room, the phone was broken I guess. The bathroom was smelly. Couldn't have a proper rest, there were so many noises (workers, baby crying, people in the corridor ..) Wanted to have some food at the restaurant, the soon I arrived at the entrance of the restaurant, the man who was stund said I couldn't get in, and can go to the waiting area where I ordered a salad, where it was so uncomfortable to eat, as the table was under my knees. Had also a bad exchanges of emails during my booking reservation few days before I flew to Heathrow. Not a pleasant experience !
Review 41:2 stops from Heathrow by bus
Review 42:One of the members of staff there was so rude im shocked they talk to their guests like that, in front of other guests. We parked our car downstairs, and they have a security lock downstairs so you have to buzz the hotel to get back in, we buzzed a few times and were just simply ignored. Then on the 4th time we kept our finger on the buzzer as we were not sure if anyone could hear us, we were cold and just left outside. To which a female receptionist abruptly answered the buzz, and in a raised voice, demanded us to stop ringing the buzzer! To which we were surprised as she had left us waiting outside and didn't even attempt to apologise or anything like that. So not only were we ignored, we were also spoken to disgustingly, to where she used words such as 'don't mug me off'.. nice coming from a member of staff at a 4 star hotel, very bad attitude, she had an answer back for everything, and after we said we were going to contact the manager she just did not seem to care and she made that very clear. Would not stay here again after this incident, i think it is absolutely appalling, and i am currently in the process of taking this up with the ditector. They also want to charge £16.95 per person for breakfast.
Review 43:Very cosy room, very close to Heathrow airport, perfect after a long 13 hour flight!
Review 44:Room and its facilities were average at best. Old mattresses, badly worn bathtub and shower, and extremely small for 3 people. For the price paid, I had much higher expectations.
Review 45:Staff, hotel lobby, hotel bar, and breakfast were excellent.
Review 46:Had a comfort room - and it was exactly that - supremely comfortable! Locale was absolutely brilliant for Heathrow and the Hoppa service worked perfectly.
Review 47:We had a trouble to find the main entrance in the darkness. The building and the road around were poorly lit.
Review 48:The room was very comfortable with all facilities that we needed. Easy access to Terminal 5.
Review 49:I was expected to PAY just to watch BBC news on TV. This is the first hotel I've been to that has not supplied Public broadcast TV for free in our room. How mean can you get ! ! ! !.
Review 50:Bar prices a little expensive, but service good.
Review 51:The location was perfect for us as we wanted to be close to Heathrow. All areas clean and well maintained. Soundproofing good. Reception staff were very helpful and obliging and changed our room with no problem which was appreciated as we particularly wanted to see the runway. Parking is reasonably priced and having the choice to leave the car after checkout for a few hours for a small fee allowed us to explore the surrounding area. Breakfast was adequate, plenty of choice.
Review 52:Manager on duty spoke to his front reception staff in a degrading manner in front of customers. The front reception staff were a delight to deal with.
Review 53:Sound proofing was amazing. We didn't hear a single aeroplane or the road traffic.
Review 54:I was told that I would be able to leave my baggage at the hotel for afew days as I would be returning to the hotel for another night at theend of my break away, so I brought all the baggage from the airport tothe hotel (I could have left my luggage at the airport if I had known)and was then told on arrival at the hotel, despite me having an email toprove that they would take my luggage - they would not honour this emailfrom another staff member. They only wanted me to forward on the emailto them, so they could blame the staff member who had sent it! Not agreat company to work for I reckon. I felt the lady manager wasparticularly rude when I asked her to reconsider this, and also thefollowing morning I found the reception staff not very helpful - moreinterested in answering the phones than dealing with customers in frontof them. The restaurant and bar staff though were very nice, but letdown by reception. Also, the note visible from reception to customersthat said 'staff would be disciplined if they flicked a particularswitch' - also highlights the very way they manage their staff -with threats! Poor management.
Review 55:The room was excellent, spotlessly clean, and I was very pleased to have a window that overlooked the runway. Reception staff were very polite helpful and welcoming.
Review 56:Staff friendly and helpful, room comfortable with everything I need. First stay room even had a mini fridge (rarity these days) but on second stay room did not which was a pity.
Review 57:We were in a handicapped room (not requested or needed.). It was fine, except for the very tiny and low bathroom sink.
Review 58:Desk clerk very helpful. We ate dinner and breakfast there; both very nice.
Review 59:Breakfast, that booking.com claimed was free, cost 16 pounds. Isolated from heathrow. Shuttle bus cost minimum of 4 pounds each way. Isolated from high street. Restaurant overpriced for food available.
Review 60:The facility would be excellent should the first room have hot water. The staff changed another room for me immediately and it was great.
Review 61:Theblocation is great.
Review 62:Staff didn't know what they were talking about. Staff were rude. Unprofessional behaviour, supposedly a 4 star hotel where members of staff take out there personal mobile phone and look at it whilst talking to you. I was charged £50 on check in for any extras (such as room service etc.) which was not mentioned on booking. I was told I would get this back on checking out if I didn't use it. At check out I was told it could take 24 - 36 hours to return to my card! 2 days later and still no money I am told it usually takes between 5 and 10 days to go back on my card. For me this was a slight inconvenience but I imagine that a young couple may have been relying on getting that money returned at checkout as stated by staff when they took it. Especially since this is an airport hotel! Majority of times I called the manager was in a meeting. Must be a serious amount of meetings in a day as I called numerous times and at different times of the day.
Review 63:Not a great pile!
Review 64:Staff could be more helpful and friendly - also better informed about shuttlebus times to the airport for example. Big need to improve the speed of your internet connection - when travelling for business it is of vital importance that you can sit and work at the hotel without having to worry about connection all the time.
Review 65:Suffering jet lag so woke up in the middle of the night wanting a cup of tea but there were no teabags left. Should definitely have more than 2 per room, shouldn't have to go down to reception to ask for more.
Review 66:Quiet, clean, comfortable and close to car hire and terminal 2.
Review 67:We were allocated a very small room, that we presume was a single room as there was only 1 towel 1 shampoo etc. We had travelled from Dubai, therefore we had a few suitcases, which left us very little space.
Review 68:Very slow booking in despite very few people waiting. Pre-paid for stay and parking but staff attempted to charge me again for parking, as apparently they don't keep such records if booked via an on-line agency. Even if the parking is handled by a third party all the supply chain should be aware and responsible. The rooms are becoming 'tired'.
Review 69:Location, price, breakfast.
Review 70:Room had no continuous heating, very cold floor (basement), staff not flexible with regard to earlier check-in (had to wait from 10:30 - 14:00 h in the lobby, not informed about paid early check-in possibility)
Review 71:Breakfast, restaurant, room, short distance to Heathrow
Review 72:Would have scored higher, but receptionist didn't fully explain procedure for activating lights and air conditioning at check-in. This meant I spent some time in a cold, dark room trying to work through the procedure without success. Could it not be possible for reception to activate the room facilities at check- in, prior to guests proceeding to the room?
Review 73:Comfortable, restful environment
Review 74:We had to wait a long time until we got a table at the restaurant altough there were many tables free.
Review 75:Very good food at the restaurant, comfortable bed. The hotel is very close to the airport and you can use a shuttleservice for £5.00.
Review 76:Not cheap, though it seems reasonable priced compared to the other hotels in the Heathrow airport area...
Review 77:Comfortable, clean, quiet room. Short (10min) bus-ride from/to Terminal 5.
Review 78:The staff were very rude. It was demanded that I present my passport upon arrival. When I explained I have never been asked for a passport in hotel in the UK before I was shown a piece of paper stating the law and told it was me that was wrong. This was very rude. The rooms were tired and not very warm.
Review 79:Decor of reception...
Review 80:May be a little dated and not well signed.
Review 81:Simple but practical. Every thing worked and people did what you asked and they said they would do, with no frills
Review 82:10 GBP *per hour* for early check-in. We arrived from the States, tired, and wanted to get to our rooms. We were told the cost was 10 GBP for early check-in. Only on check-out did we learn that it was per hour. The room was ready, and we had requested early check-in - it cost them nothing.
Review 83:Not the easiest of hotels to find. Could do with more precise information as to how to access it.
Review 84:Pleasantly surprised to find good, caring staff, as opposed to the type of casual indifference often associated with this type of hotel
Review 85:On a very busy street without parking. Also you have to pull on to the sidewalk to unload baggage. Car Park is a decent jaunt away. Wifi is very weak. No clothes dryer, only a washer without instructions on how to use.
Review 86:Apartment spacious, great for a large group.
Review 87:They gave my wife and I a triple room, 3 single beds when I had booked a superior double room. When I called reception to change rooms the member of staff informed me they were fully booked, which on looking on booking.com wasn't true. Went to reception and the manager moved us, but not pleased with the initial response.
Review 88:Good location easy access to Heathrow Terminal 3. Hotel was clean and on site parking a plus.Restaurant was good for evening meal. Didn't have breakfast due to early flight.
Review 89:We should have booked the bus through the hotel as it was cheaper.
Review 90:Used the hotel hop on and off service to the airport, only took 15 minutes directly into terminal.
Review 91:Overall cooked breakfast was disappointing. Food was dry and unappetising. Staff on checkout were quite dismissive and " No Thank " you for choosing to stay at the hotel
Review 92:Convenient location to terminal 5. Room was nice although I found the single bed mattress quite hard.
Review 93:Parking was expensive at £12 for an overnight stay, and the cost wasn't as clear as I had expected on the website
Review 94:Large room, quiet, well located, just what you would expect really.
Review 95:They gave me the wrong room, and then woke me up twice the next morning to ask me when I was checking out. It was very frustrating.
Review 96:The staff are friendly and helpful.
Review 97:Only first day of wifi was free compared to free wifi all the time at other hotels such as Holiday Inn Ariel.
Review 98:Close to Heathrow airport. Rooms were quiet despite facing the runway and main road. Bed was really confortable.
Review 99:One staff was quite rude and blunt when arriving in the car park, and at reception which meant we didn't have a good first impression.
Review 100:Receptionist was very friendly and the staff in the restaurant was
Review 101:Nothing!
Review 102:Location, it was very quiet, and the staff were wonderful. There was a particularly rude lady ahead of us, and the receptionist handled the situation wonderfully.
Review 103:I did not like upon arrival being told I had yo hand over another £50 from my account after paying for the hotel incase there are any incidents I had not noticed this in the small print on the site if it is there at all, and I am still waiting to receive the money back 3 days after staying in the hotel. This is my only problem at this hotel.
Review 104:The hotel was nice the staff were friendly.
Review 105:On arrival, the room had a distinctly musty smell, which I subsequently tracked to the shower curtain. Perhaps these need to be changed more frequently? I was disappointed with dinner in the restaurant in the following respects: A: To be informed that it was not possible to have anchovies added to my Caesar salad starter. B: The "main" course of Chicken Tikka Masala had a delicious sauce, but the dish itself contained only five (5) small pieces of chicken. Seriously? Additionally, the accompanying naan bread was very hard and doughy.
Review 106:The staff at reception were friendly, helpful and professional. The room was smart and comfortable (but see comment opposite re bathroom).
Review 107:The hotel was really good value for money. Given the cleanliness, the comfort, the style, the food and the location (right next to the airport). We just hope the rate does not increase!
Review 108:Wasn't made aware that i had to reserve nearly £300 on my card, also parking was suppose to be included as it stated on Booking.com , this was later explained to me however is very misleading on the website and heard other customers arguing about this. The fact that i was charged nearly £4 tips just for ordering a meal and one drink, but then the night after ordered many drinks with a tip of £2, I do not mind giving tips but this was very inconsistent in how it is accumulated?
Review 109:The Gym, The double bed, The Shower, the breakfast.
Review 110:Emphasis on using their paid-for shuttle to airport, pricey food. Light fitting in my room broken when I got there and left hanging from wall.
Review 111:Good location close to Heathrow
Review 112:Further away from airport than had hoped. Costly transportation to/from Heathrow airport.
Review 113:Remodeled hotel. Has small spa. Rooms was clean and well outfitted.
Review 114:If you're not interested in the "typical English breakfast" (i.e., sausage, bacon, etc.), the breakfast is over-priced.
Review 115:Location, cleanliness.
Review 116:The room my husband and I stayed (1029) was extremely noisy as everytime someone flushed a toilet or ran a tap we could hear it . Can only assume there were water pipes running across the walls of this particular room ?
Review 117:Comfortable room . Facilities in hotel were great. Close to airport , which is why booked this hotel, as we were meeting a family member who had come over on business for a couple of days from Australia. One of the few hotels that had a triple room to accommodate our 3 daughters. No noise from aircraft at all to be heard .
Review 118:Very difficult for our minicab to find it even with GPS.. name.rather obscure at night. Paid £25 for 3 shortish telephone calls..seemes too much. Food standard fare,no imagination. A daily "dish of the day" would be good
Review 119:Different exterior to many airport hotels plus very close to Terminal 2...plus NO noise from planes. Pleasant room; good bed.
Review 120:I arrived at 13:00, only 1 hour before the check in time of 14:00. Despite them having a room they would not let me check in early unless I paid an extra fee of £10! The room was OK but was a little old with broken tiles in the bathroom and rotten woodwork around the door. Obviously the management feel it's best to try and squeeze every last penny out of their customers rather than maintain their property. I would certainly never stay there again and so I couldn't really recommend others to either.
Review 121:Not much.
Review 122:The sauvignon blanc was not good, in fact it was undrinkable. The barman was not friendly and did not listen to my request for the smaller sized glass of wine. The seating in the lounge/bar area was not comfortable.
Review 123:Easy access to airport.Free fare on regular London buses going from central bus station at airport to hotel and back. Reception staff helpful. Excellent breakfast - good quality and well cooked. Good wifi, online access, printing and flight updates. Tea/coffee making facilities in room.
Review 124:There was nothing not to like.
Review 125:The staff were excellent, nothing too much trouble and the lady from Litchfield that works there(sorry didn't get here name) was lovely, very friendly and nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent and restaurant food at night very good. Close proximity to Heathrow T5, shuttle service was prompt.
Review 126:Staff members on reception upon my arrival were not very friendly or helpful with questions I asked. Staff who checked me in In the afternoon much more helpful and friendly
Review 127:Good location
Review 128:Staff is very unfriendly and not helpful. Wireless connection is so bad and slow that the paid option is the only working one. Deposit needs to be paid upfront as the guests are not "trusted". Poor service. All in all would never go back!
Review 129:Close to Heathrow Airport Terminal 2 and 3
Review 130:Entrance is hidden on the back. The carpet was pretty dirty and the remote control was also not clean. I didn't like the fact that there was no power socket near the bed.
Review 131:- Good location at the airport. Don't take the hoppa shuttle. Take the free regular bus (red), it takes you directly to the hotel. (Bus 423 from terminal 5 in example) - Good value for the money
The Fine Print
The hotel shuttle service is provided by the National Express Hoppa H4 bus from Terminal 1,2,and 3 at a cost of GBP 4.50 per person each way. This goes to/from the hotel and Heathrow Airport, on the H4 line. The Hoppa H54 bus runs from Terminals 4 and 5. The shuttle service operates every 12 minutes from 06:00 - 00:00 daily.Alternatively, there are a number of free coaches operating from the central bus station that stop 5 minutes' walk from the hotel's main entrance.Pre-authorisation of guest's card is required at check in to guarantee against additional charges.Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit/debit card used at time of booking upon check-in.
