Reviews for Heathrow Lodge

Review 1:The bathroom is extremely small. However, for a one night stay, it's good enough.

Review 2:The bed was very comfortable - wish I had more time to sleep in it! There is a lovely pub just down the road and a fairly nice one opposite.

Review 3:First we arrived at 1 am and nobody was in the reception. After making some noice to try an get somebody´s attention it was clear that nobody was around. Searched the premises and finally i noticed a door of one of the rooms was not completely closed so I peeked in. At the same moment a guy who was supposed to be in the reception obviously just woke up came out of the room. We checked in and went to our room. Obviously we were aware that this is a cheap "hotel" so we weren´t epected luxury but entering the room was surprising. First the room temperature was maybe 5° C so we were freezing and the walls had alot of mold in it, like in every corner!! It was well dirty and i had to remove snails from the room. Snails??? The bed covers and sheets were damp as well. So this experience was kind of disgusting and unhealthy and we didnt get any sleep. 1 night in these facilites was 1 night to many!

Review 4:The bathroom is small. The mattress was not particularly comfortable. They do not allow luggagae storage. Which is particularly inconveninet for a hotel near the airport. It took awhile until i Figure out how heating works.

Review 5:Free bus from airport.

Review 6:First room I got had bad smell, I think from old molded carpet or something like that, I am not sure what Was it but something smelled on mold. I ask to give me the key from the balcony door to let the fresh air in but instead they gave me another better bigger room.

Review 7:I liked location, friendly and helpful staff, warm room, clean bedsheets and towels.

Review 8:Very small ensuite, not clean but only overnight stay would not stop here for more than one night, we upgraded so we weren't stopping in house over the road as read bad reviews about it

Review 9:Location to heathrow airport and free shuttle bus

Review 10:Very very noisy, not just aircraft outside but internal walls very thin. Kept awake till 1am by noisy neighbours - as I had to get up at 5am this was very irritating. Also no bedside light. Annoyed that airport shuttle didn't run on Sundays which was not obvious until booking was completed.

Review 11:Staff were very nice

Review 12:I upgraded for a room with a bathroom, and the bathroom smelled of mold and wet towels. The bathroom was also the size of a very small closet: showering put water everywhere on the toilet and the sink. The lightning in the room was awful as well.

Review 13:TV in the room Free bus to Terminal 5 and Free shuttle to other terminals, although needs to be booked the day before

Review 14:Perfectly suitable for travellers who need stay one night. The free buses from/to the airport stop nearly in front of the hotel, and the journey takes about five minutes!

Review 15:It would be nice if it was explained, either on the website or verbally, that the shared bathroom maybe on another floor!

Review 16:Location near airport and morning shuttle ride - thanks! Two pubs nearby if you want pub grub! Directions on internet for public transport, easy to follow, thank you! If this place still has reasonable prices I would stay there again.

Review 17:Thin covers and pillow, thin walls...

Review 18:You get what you pay for, good location if you've got a early flight out of Heathrow, free shuttle buses to and from airport.

Review 19:It's no 5 star hotel. I didn't like the fact that there was a shared bathroom, but I could have gotten a private bathroom if I paid more. The place however, could be renovated to be a little bit more "colourfull". The bathroom looks very old and the floor boards squeecks. You hear everything that's going on around you. ( talking, footsteps) but if you are tired, you will sleep.

Review 20:Fair price. You get what you pay for. It's really for people who need a quick stop like backpackers , or on layovers. It's close to the airport and the area is beautiful. The rooms are at a good temperature and clean. I liked the outline of the building, but it could use some touch ups here and there. Otherwise it's good enough for a one night sleep!

Review 21:I didn't enjoy having to wake up early to catch my flight after a heavy night drinking with friends. However, this has nothing to do with the hotel or their staff and was a personal, lifestyle choice.

Review 22:The hotel was within easy walking distance to Heathrow Terminal 5 which was fantastic! The room was just what I needed to have a few hours rest before my flight. The cost was really cheap (24 GBP) and you get exactly what you would expect for that price; a clean bed and a wash basin. What more do you need?!

Review 23:Beds aren't that comfortable. Wifi wasn't working when we stayed.

Review 24:Free airport shuttle. Enough tv channels. Pub opposite does amazing Indian food!

Review 25:To be honest I expected less! I booked the room only for 1 night because my flight connection was 12 hours. But i was surprised about the good condition for that price. Also very best is free 423 bus which drives you to Heathrow Terminal 5. Right infront of hotel there is a pub where you can eat. So definitely suggest this place.

Review 26:Strong smell of food in entire building ( my room was not in main building but next door). Walls were very thin, I could hear every word people spoke in room next door. Also room was not very clean; I found hair (not mine) on pillow. I recommend spending a little more and getting a better accommodation somewhere else.

Review 27:Location okay. Free shuttle to airport

Review 28:The noise of traffic from the street. A better insulated window would help here. The radiator in #7 Longford needs to be bled as the bottom of it was not so hot. The voices from the room below travelled and kept me awake for ages.

Review 29:Your receptionist was friendly and helpful when I checked in and out. Check in was simple and quick and he answered all my questions about the airport shuttle and promptly booked me in. After a long day travelling from abroad it was a pleasure to deal with him. The room was spacious, warm and comfortable and the radiator was on all night, which made it cosy. Never had to wait for the bathroom, which was great. The free shuttle bus which left on time, 6am, and meant I could sleep a little longer instead of getting bus 423 and taking the Heathrow express from T5 to T3. All in all it was a great experience and I will stay again next time.

Review 30:Heating was turned up full, had to have all windows open. Lots of aircraft noise. But that should be obvious and not a fault of the Lodge!

Review 31:Excellent location, free TfL bus to Terminal 5 bus nearby. Friendly staff.

Review 32:A staff member stated that wifi would be charged extra for as it was New Year. In the end the wifi wasn't working anyway, so at least the money was returned.

Review 33:The walls had a mold like substance, wallpaper was peeling, beds were dirty, blankets were small, no washcloths, impossible to take shower without flooding entire bathroom or move around. Also, the bed was the most UNCOMFORTABLE EVER!and blanket didn't cover my body You are better sleeping standing up or on your head.

Review 34:It was easily accessible from London Heathrow, had a great pub across the parking lot and convenience store within walking distance.

Review 35:No phone in room so no wake up call as expected which caused me to be late. Internet down so I had NO access to web. Fall into shower when using toilet.,,window did not securely close so I heard outside noise.

Review 36:Procimity and access to airport.

Review 37:Terrible place to stay, paid £29.00 for a horrible room with no heat, poor lighting and a bathroom door that barely opens and no top sheet on the bed. The staff are terrible. Not helpful what so ever. They just want your money and don't care if you're comfortable. I've stayed here for a week once and had terrible service then and stayed for one night 3 days ago and still had terrible service. I needed a bargain hotel but next time, I will NOT be staying at this low end trashy motel.

Review 38:Nothing.

Review 39:Interior very dated, bed could've been much better. Wifi wasn't working

Review 40:Value for money, proximity to Heathrow airport, free shuttle, hot water at all times, coffee and tea in the room. Clean room, clean towels and beddings.

Review 41:Shared bathroom was disgusting, using the shower wasn't a realistic option because I have some hygiene standards. Room wasn't much cleaner. Facilities were the worst I've ever come across and I've stayed in many cheap hostels around the world. Would not recommend to anyone. I certainly won't be back.

Review 42:Free travel to lodge from Heathrow. No complaints regarding the staff.

Review 43:Staff were terrible, didn't care if you had a problem. Wifi was not working which we needed for work, and staff didn't care. Location - it is close to Heathrow T5, but to get there you have to walk through a road you are not allowed to by law. If you follow the only permitted route it is about 90mins walk. Buses were rare. Obvious noise from the planes was to be expected but is very disruptive. Overall despite the low price would stay well clear.

Review 44:Room was cleaned well and very cheap compared to other hotels

Review 45:I had to pay extra for a "bathroom" which was an added plastic cupboard with a toilet, shower and sink in it. The room was also freezing. We booked as we wanted the transfer but it didn't start until 6. We were told to go to nearby terminal 5 and get the internal connection but it wasn't working so we had to get the bus to terminal 4 anyway.

Review 46:The location was great and the staff on reception were really friendly. If you want terminal 5 its in a great location

Review 47:The room was extremely HOT! the heating was on top settings and even with the windows open it was unbearable. The front door needs to be locked manually, so you rely on other guest to not forget to lock!

Review 48:It is very close HTR Terminal 5, with a regular free bus to the airport. There are a couple of pubs in the area that are open till late.

Review 49:1. extremely uncomfortable bed. 2. faulty bedside lamp was a fire risk and had to be unplugged. 3. shower curtain had mould.

Review 50:1. Cheap 2. Convenient free public bus, stops near hotel (service 423) - to Heathrow T5 (10 mins). 3. Free hotel shuttle to Heathrow T5.

Review 51:No bad experience but being in room105 (I think) I foundit rather noisy people talking to the receptionist also a person above me appeared to be wearing concrete boots I would have liked a lamp so I didn't have to get into bed in the dark.

Review 52:Convience to Heathrow

Review 53:To start with, this is not a hotel for anyone that doesnt understand themeaning Lodge. This place is run by unprofessionals. When I arrived theytook me to my bedroom which is part of a 4 room house which is whatactually is advised when I booked it. But .....the bed wasdestroyed...dirty...smelly full of stains and holes. The walls were fullof stains too.You could here everyone in any room of thehouse.Everything was generally very old and dirty. As for the bathroom aDISASTER!full of hair everywhere and never cleaned.I Arrived in thehotel at 22.00 at night and was planning to stay for one more day butcouldnt bring my self again in this tragic situation. I dont care if its27 pounds for this room as I fell in this trap and not planning to comehere never again ofcourse. Be aware of what you book

Review 54:Close to airport,10 minutes with the taxi

Review 55:The room very bad they had all green mole in them they were smelly and I had young children one of my child was 6 months old and the other 1 was 3 and the two of them have asthma and my tmother has very bad chest and also have copd and they are very ill know I'm not one bit happy and I don't think it fair so it something can be done about it I would be happy I think I'm going to get invormenral health to go to the hotel as it was bad

Review 56:It was a bit to hot in my room, but I believe you cannot satisfy everyone :)

Review 57:The stuff was really helpful. The girl managed to find me a place in the car for the airport. Driver was careful and friendly.

Review 58:there are bugs flying in the room. not too many but still there are. no cafe. we arrived heathrow quite late and expect to get something to eat there and we were informed that there are no cafe in the hotel but there are restaurant in front of the hotel. so we went there although it is quite limited for us since we are muslims.

Review 59:the room is big enough for the three of us the water pressure is at its best easy to find location

Review 60:Poor facility's, needs to be overalled, very poor decor, the best part was leaving.

Review 61:Nothing was very disappointed, would not recommend this to anyone

Review 62:They said it was a free shuttle to the airport. However the guy whodropped me charged £12. I wasn't expecting it. I didn't have thetime to write a complain as I had a flight to catch. Beware of this.Don't be fooled.

Review 63:Got What I paid for. Basic but good value lodging

Review 64:Lack of wifi, but not a deal breaker.

Review 65:This was the cheapest alternative to spending the night in the airport. The room was warm, beds were soft and nice, very good after 13 hours of flying. It is a very good option if you do not want to spend hundreds of pounds on a room right next to the terminal. Also, we got there by free public bus in 5 minutes.

Review 66:Instead of 2 double beds we got 4 single beds in the room which was a bit odd but it didnt really affect our stay

Review 67:The location is brilliant, it is by no means a 5 star but I will definitely be a return customer especially at this price!

Review 68:Beds pretty uncomfortable, no WiFi, booked a family room but ended up with two double rooms.

Review 69:Close to Heathrow, free shuttle back to the airport, cheap...

Review 70:I stayed there because I had to take a very early flight. its very close to the airport, even connected with a free bus, eventhough it doesnt come super frequent. The lodge had all I needed.

Review 71:The staff was extremely rude, there is no wifi options, the shared bathroom door didn't lock, the shower didn't work. The room was cold too.

Review 72:I like the local buses offered free transportation from the airport to the hotel and back.

Review 73:It is right next to the airport so obviously there is noise from planes.

Review 74:Super cheap at 25 GBP and therefore excellent value for the money. The room had clean linen and running water, which is all that I care about when I wait for an early morning flight.

Review 75:Direct on busy flight path , but expected for its location. Alsoadditional charges to park car above the reservation price

Review 76:Very basic with poor decor

Review 77:I chose a single room with a shared bathroom. It was 3 minutes away from the actual building, in a creepy house with no lights on (I arrived by night).

Review 78:It is very close to the airport

Review 79:Uncomfortable, no kettle, nothing apart from a bed and use of a shared bathroom

Review 80:Cheap, you get what you pay for. We needed a bed for a few nights- that's what we got. A bed in a house. No frills.

Review 81:The bathroom door lock was not working, the amount of shampoo was very small and of poor quality, the wi-fi wasn't working

Review 82:I was traveling from Terminal 5 and had to stay overnight, so the location was brillinat and a frequent free bus was available to and from the hotel to the airport

Review 83:If I was to write a review on this, I would be like Shakespeare's Macbeth! Lets just say that I slept in my jeans rather than get into the beds! I quit backpacking in my early 20's! If it hadnt been for my early flight back, I would have left. I am surprised that Booking.com have even got this place on their site as you had to leave the reception to be put up in an individual house with locked bedrooms whilst walking past a busy pub? Very unsettling for a female travelling alone I would think

Review 84:A very tiny 'closet' to hang clothes but with NO hangers ! Not even a chair to put clothing, towel, backpack upon… It wouldn't take much to buy a few coat hangers...

Review 85:The staff member at reception helped us with everything we needed, and found the transport to the airport really useful! You get what you pay for and was fine for a quick airport stay.

Review 86:The staff weren't helpful with with our inquiries especially about the shuttle bus times and availability!!!! We used the free bus service instead which was much easier and the driver very helpful The wifi didn't work The bed we slept in had dreadful springs that hurt your back

Review 87:The location for terminal 5 at Heathrow was great

Review 88:Not a bad experience. Room quite ugly. Not a single hook to hang up anything - something that can so easily be fixed!

Review 89:We (a friend and I) landed at Heathrow after 8 pm, plane out the next day at noon. Wanted a cheap but clean place nearby. Which this is. Free transportation (provided by city?) to hotel, free shuttle next morning to airport. Staff did its best to be accommodating. We got what we paid for: cheap price, no frills accommodation. BUT quiet at night, near 2 pubs for late night dinner, and we slept well.

Review 90:I appreciated the economical price for a short overnight before my early flight. Desk staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was simple but sufficient. Although tiny, it had a little desk, tea maker, TV with movies, a firm mattress, and tiny bath with shower. I enjoyed Longford and its nearby pub for dinner. The public bus ran from Terminal 5 to Longford, then it was a short walk to the lodge. It was convenient.

Review 91:The fact that there is only one public toilet upstairs is a little inconvenient, but the accommodation was still well-suited to my need for a place to sleep before a morning flight!

Review 92:Everything. Plus several deportees were checking in at the same time as me. I didn't feel safe. I used the iron and it burnt my trousers I asked for customer services number to claim for my burnt trousers and they said the owner was on holiday. I will never stay there again.

Review 93:Noises dirty bathroom no wifi no tv

Review 94:1. Noisy (Talkings and customers yelling late in the night due to an unhappy customer wasn't impressed of the staff/s' request for identification issue had waken us up from our sleeps just outside the door of the room somewhere at corridor). 2. No 'Wi-Fi' facility at all 3. Surprised to only find there wasn't a hair fryer in the room after washing my hair but an empty hair dyer holder outside the bathroom. Having waited for quite a while to secure one from the reception had caused me severe headache as my hair was wet in Winter!!!

Review 95:- A helpful & friendly lady stuff. - Free shuttle bus to the Terminal save the pain & worry to have it arranged myself. - The bus stop to catch the free ride buses to airport which is fairly close enough to the lodge.

Review 96:I was by myself, and expected to feel adequately safe in a public hotel. However, I felt incredibly unsafe as II did not have service, working wifi, and experienced a couple next door fighting violently, without any staff Doug anything to quiet them down. I nearly left the hotel because of this.

Review 97:I liked he friendly staff and the close location to the airport, as well as the free bus to the airport.

Review 98:The morning receptionist who said if he had known I had a small scooterhe would not have permitted me to stay. That is discrimination andviolates the equality act. Difficult to find the place without a gps

Review 99:Shuttle service in the morning. Very helpful evening receptionist

Review 100:Fact we had to move rooms rather than deal with the noisy protagonist's.

Review 101:First room had cobwebs and mould. Got moved to another room as next room had drunk couple who wouldn't stop shouting from 1:00 to 2:30am.Staff didn't appear to be able to handle the situation so i asked to be moved. Second room was better. Shuttle driver was friendly, punctual and efficient.

Review 102:The room could not be more basic, it really is just a place to lay your head. The facilities were also extremely basic, and the shower head water pressure was dismally low.

Review 103:The location is extremely convenient, there is a shuttle service to the airport but there are also free buses to Heathrow terminal 5 that arrive/depart right in front of the hotel.

Review 104:Nothing wrong, considering the price.

Review 105:Very convenient for Heathrow. The free minibus to Terminals is excellent. Friendly & helpful staff. Good value. Pub nearby for good meals & coffee.

Review 106:Bathroom suitable for hobbits only Mattress extremely lumpy Pillow a 99p job Internet didn't work at all, and judging by reviews, it's not a one-off matter either

Review 107:Proximity to Heathrow Airport

Review 108:Uncomfortable bed, one pillow, room too small to open wardrobe door properly.

Review 109:Close proximity to airport, 3 minutes away from 2 good pubs serving food. Very economical for a last minute booking. Serves a purpose for a one night stay. On site parking.

Review 110:Nothing

Review 111:Antique Standard hotel :) , thats makes a living out of that it is so close to heathrow. There is apub across the street. An average gloomy suburb. Of course the hotel is run by struggling indians. British people move away from such a place

Review 112:No plug in sink - which was also cracked. Wood around door of bathroom rotting. Toilet flush cracked/faulty and water ran. TV located in postion where there was no where to sit and watch. Fire escape details not in plain sight. Loose wires on skirting board - possibly telephone. Walls thin - heard person next door snoring.

Review 113:Location in regards to Terminal 5 is very good.

Review 114:However the heating could not be controlled, the bed had the consistence of a brick and the noise from other travellers in the morning was way too loud (around 2am).

Review 115:The stuff was super

Review 116:Bathroom wasn't well cleaned up on arrival. Bed was hard, male staff at reception wasn't that helpful, rooms are very noisy you can even hear the person next to your room snurring.

Review 117:Close to airport easy to reach with bus 423 from terminal 5

Review 118:It was fine for me but if you are over the average size the shower maybe a challenge. Not a lot of room in there! See photo.

Review 119:Super close to the airport and easy to find. Remember this is a mega cheap place to stay with a free brand new minibus for the morning airport run. If you paid £140 a night you would not be happy. For £40 it's a total bargain!! Two friendly pubs very close for food and a nightcap too.

Review 120:Didn't like people could come into the building were the shared bathroom was

Review 121:It was cheap and served a purpose, we only needed a bed to sleep in for 5 hours before our long flight and it was perfect for this. 10 minutes from T3

Review 122:Shower was horrible - can senda photographs. I upgraded to private shower, but could not use it.

Review 123:It was a pittoresh house in a pittoresk omgivning. Directions are good and easily to follow.

Review 124:Strange men standing outside the property which was a house across the road from the main building. My room had the back door to the garden in it. Everything a bit tired and run down, room smelt strange, walls very thin other guest conversations kept me awake. On the whole just didn't feel safe.

Review 125:Right by the airport so got there quickly in the morning for my flight.

Review 126:When booking this accommodation the email says if you require the airport shuttle bus to inform reception upon checking in - I did so by asking the desk staff and also writing it on the piece of paper I signed. At 6am, there was too many people for the shuttle and supposedly my name and room number was not recorded and so I was told to wait for the next shuttle. As I had an international flight to Sydney, I did not have time to wait another 45 minutes so I had to make my way by public transport to terminal 4. The staff was rude, placing the blame on me for not voicing my need for the 6am shuttle, even though I definitely did as well as writing it down. I did not appreciate the blame, the lack of understanding or motivation to help the situation and I received no apology in any capacity. I do not recommend this lodge and in hindsight it would have been easier jumping on the metro and staying somewhere a few stops away.

Review 127:Failed to give us the early morning call requested. Could have been serious, luckily my wife had a travel alarm clock.

Review 128:Convenience for Heathrow terminal 5

Review 129:The room was smelling of cigarettes and was not even looking like proper clean. The staff never refunded the money back even if we didn't use the room.

Review 130:Nothing at all

Review 131:Creepy random house down a dark road we were pointed towards.heating stuck on boiling. Thank God it was only a 1 night!

Review 132:There was a pub down the road and we got a free "shuttle bus"(a car) to the air port.

Review 133:The rooms outside the lodge were very poor. No tv. No tea and coffee. And again. Very pricey for what it was

Review 134:The room in the lodge itself was faultless. A little pricey, but faultless.

Review 135:we asked to upgrade and staff agreed to upgrade but as we left to go and get some food the guy at the reception got angry and didn't upgrade us.. which left us in a room without any wifi and very bad smell

Review 136:area,..

Review 137:It's pretty grotty and has no facilities to speak of.

Review 138:It was close to the airport and there was a free shuttle bus in the morning to your terminal.
