Reviews for Kings Arms Hotel
Review 1:Room too cold need heating all the time in winter. No facility for early breakfast. The shower room could have been cleaner.
Review 2:Nice to be in the centre of Sandwich
Review 3:The rooms are dated and could really do with an uplift. The bar would be improved with the introduction of a comfy lounge area
Review 4:The staff were very friendly and efficient. They made us very welcome. The food at the Kings Arms was excellent
Review 5:The toilet & shower room smelt a bit and was very small.
Review 6:The restaurant we thoroughly enjoyed food was above average, very well cooked and service was also extremely good, above average I would say.
Review 7:Lower quality and numerous faults with the en suite and bedroom facilities.
Review 8:The quality of the food and drink and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Competitive prices.
Review 9:Not a bad experience, but couldn't get tv to work, or the kettle.
Review 10:Everyone is so nice, even when the car par park (ten out of ten for that) is full
Review 11:Well situated in town but the price you pay is the noise from the road and the bar .Weather was hot so the open windows didn't help. Our room was at the front .
Review 12:Beautiful town very friendly . Lovely pub with very helpful staff . Good food.
Review 13:Room a little dated - not a big fan of excessive use of pink
Review 14:Friendly, helpful, happy staff. Felt really inviting. Moderately priced. Excellent location.
Review 15:Not much storage in bedroom, shower quite small. But fine for the 2 nights we stayed.
Review 16:Location very central, free parking, lovely garden, very good food and service.
Review 17:It was very noisy in the bedroom from outside traffic - woken up early by this. The mattress on one of the twin beds was very lumpy, so my husband was uncomfortable.
Review 18:The staff and food were excellent, parking and garden were also great
Review 19:I love old pubs & this is a real old building that has not been spoiled, with a beautiful, well kept garden. The family who run it are very friendly & welcoming & show they care about their business. And the food is excellent.
Review 20:Room was nice, although the mattress perhaps could do with a replacement-a bit springy and a bit lumpy at the same time! Otherwise a very pleasant place to stay
Review 21:Lovely meal in the restaurant, atmospheric rooms and decor
Review 22:Had dinner little disappointed in steak sauce, turned out there was so much of it they served it in a soup bowl. Breakfast over cooked.Rooms in urgent need of refurbishment very dated.
Review 23:Liked the position of the hotel somewhere to eat and drink with a beautiful garden.
Review 24:No mention that it's really a restaurant and closes from 3-6pm, so we couldn't check in on arrival and had to fill in 2 hours (in spite of notifying our est. arrival time). Bed (twin room) absolutely unusable - lumpy, thin mattress with springs sticking into me - virtually no sleep. Bathroom a cupboard, with a useless shower - either no water, freezing or boiling. Couldn't open the window (locked down tight) to enjoy the fresh air, so room was stuffy. Fire escape blocked by boxes, table and someone's motorbike clothes; in such an old place as this, like a rabbit warren, that's really dangerous.
Review 25:Location great, staff friendly, breakfast good; building itself is lovely (circa QE1); beer garden beautiful and parking easy at the back. Apparently it's well known for its food but we didn't eat here.
Review 26:Car parking impossible in the evening, but public car park opposite. Parking anywhere in the town very difficult.
Review 27:Good breakfast. Traditional old hotel. Good reputation and menu for food.
Review 28:It was a pity that we were unable to have a meal, as our dog was not allowed in the bar.
Review 29:We were pleased that our dog could come with us. The staff were helpful and friendly.
Review 30:As a tall guy (6'6"/1.96m), I did not fit in the shower stall, I actually couldn't even stand up straight. Also, the water pressure was almost non-existent.
Review 31:The staff was exceptionally friendly en helpful and the food in the restaurant was simply great!
Review 32:Nothing - will stay again.
Review 33:All the staff were friendly and welcoming. Full English breakfast and meals in the restaurant were excellent. Single room is a bit small, but good value.
Review 34:The building still has all the old world charm it looks amazing, especially with the big fireplaces in the bar! The food was amazing and the staff also wonderful! The rooms were cosy and very clean! Would definitely recommend!!!
Review 35:The size of the shower- It was tiny!
Review 36:Warm, friendly pub hotel. We were eating elsewhere that night with relatives, but menu looked great. Rooms basic but comfortable- breakfast next morning was really good.
Review 37:We were above the kitchen and did experience some noise; perhaps worth it to experience the end results!
Review 38:The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was delicious and very good value for money.
Review 39:A bit noisy on front due to busy road. Shower control unit needs updating.
Review 40:Friendly staff. Historic building. Good food in restaurant & at breakfast. Good value for money. Comfortable beds.
Review 41:Me and a group of friends stayed recently as I was getting married locally the following day. Jason who was front of house was extremely accommodating and friendly and even gave us use of the function room to iron our suits, get changed and have photos taken in the morning, after we had checked out. Other staff members where also warm and the evening food, quality of beer and breakfast was all top notch. Would definitely recommend on customer service levels alone!
Review 42:I was frustrated by lack of decent WiFi - as I was away on business I had work to do, which I was unable to complete. I found the room and bedding very hot. I appreciate it is unseasonable warm at the moment but a fan would have helped. The decor in the rooms was dated, and whilst it is nice to marry with the character and quaintness of the property, carpet in the bathroom, wood-chip walls and heavy furnishings let it down slightly.
Review 43:The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent, with a good evening meal selection and fabulous breakfast. The building is full of character and very quaint
Review 44:Pillows were not good and room was warm as the location did not allow for any cross breeze.
Review 45:staff were all very nice and the breakfast was lovely. Surroundings are very good, with lovely outdoor spaces. Lot's of character in the building and top marks for clean rooms.
Review 46:Very small bedroom, small bed more suitable for single accommodation than double as advertised and sold to us.
Review 47:Excellent helpful staff. Super well cooked breakfast.
Review 48:Our room was at the top of the house, lots of staircases difficult for us oldies!
Review 49:Friendliness of staff; very good food, proximity to town and its facilities.
Review 50:Bathroom/Showeroom facilities - small but adequate for a single night stay
Review 51:Pretty loking pub ina pretty town Friendly staff Execllent breakfast - we didn't have evenng meal or drink in the pub which was a shame, but maybe will do again
Review 52:The wifi was through the cloud and it was not too easy to access from my laptop. They give you shower gel to wash your hair so don't forget to bring your own shampoo. My hair wasn't happy at all!
