Reviews for Domaine De La Tannerie
Review 1:Such a beautiful hotel and the owners could not be nicer. Will definitely be recommending this hotel to any friends in the area. The only shame was we didn't take our swimming things so didn't use the lovely heated pool or jacuzzi
Review 2:Beautifully maintained site, spotlessly clean, large rooms and big communal spaces, very quiet at night, just a couple of minutes' walk from the town centre, friendly staff. Oh, and a sauna, steam room and gym! Decent WiFi too.
Review 3:We stayed in the Indian Room facing the beautiful garden and heated swimming pool. The Domaine is located close the main national road, making it very convenient for trips. On the other hand, a 5 min walk brings you to the center of Prades.
Review 4:I found the beds a little uncomfortable especially the pillows so didn't sleep well.
Review 5:The staff were great and the pool and other facilities were good too.
Review 6:We were attending a family wedding close by. I was staying with my 7 year old son. There are a lot of rules and the rule book was written in a slightly offensive way. I appreciate the rules were necessary to keep the stay experience positive but they went slightly overboard. I also did not feel it suitable for children. My son used the large front door knocker at 9 pm the first evening whilst i was paying the taxi, which got us a telling off from the lady owner who also took the opportunity to chastise me for spilling water from our room jacuzzi on the bedroom floor. It did upset me somewhat and i am not sure why she had been in our bathroom then. I also did not like having to ask to remove pool cover.
Review 7:Heated outdoor pool with outdoor jacuzzi, a spa and sauna the feeling of a tranquil luxurious break in a very well maintained property with excellent facilities for the size of a boutique hotel
Review 8:Our bedroom area (which was on two floors linked by a very steep flight of stairs) was Indian themed and very dark and frankly dismal. Better signage from the town ring road would make it easier to find the property.
Review 9:Taken as a whole, the property is magnificent - in particular its external areas are excellent with a swimming pool and loungers in a lovely garden. Breakfasts were superb with home made preserves and brioches.
Review 10:Very difficult to find using a GPS the stairs to the room where uncomfortably steep and the bathroom ( which was stunning) downstairs just too difficult.
Review 11:The Buildings and grounds are a credit to the owners who have work soo hard. Visually sooo appealing and the host gracious.
Review 12:The hotel was excellent. Greeted with a warm welcome. Facilities very good and everything well presented and clean. Just sorry we could only stay 1 night.
Review 13:Perhaps not so suitable for children (ours aged 6 and 8). Disappointing that the pool was not opened (beginning of April).
Review 14:Beautiful hotel with many facilities. Lovely decorated rooms and garden.
Review 15:Everything was perfect, we would have liked to stay longer to have the chance to try breakfast!
Review 16:Friendly welcome; we were upgraded at no extra cost; nicely decorated, clean room with everything you need; the facilities - hammam & sauna; secure parking. Pretty courtyard garden surrounded by period buildings.
Review 17:nothing really. 1 coffee sachet for two people in the room is not enough. coffee for two and tea for two is more logical I´d say! no big deal.
Review 18:staff very pleasant. Rooms were fine, and bed comfortable enough. breakfast was ample and tasty.
Review 19:Not enough time to enjoy the sauna - would have like to stay more than one night.
Review 20:Very welcoming and helpful. The room was amazing (we had the African room). Fabulous bed. Excellent breakfast Olivier has really planned this place well.
Review 21:I felt sorry for the orchids in the hallway: they are suffering from lack of water!
Review 22:I liked Olivier. I liked it that he clearly cares that all his guests have a good experience. This guy is keen to make things work.
Review 23:A hotel with charm, character and excellent breakfast!
Review 24:Lovely owners, immaculate grounds, pool etc. Individually and thoughtfully styled rooms.Breakfast.
Review 25:The breakfast
Review 26:Excellent Breakfast
Review 27:Très bel accueil
Review 28:I don't like hotels in which the rooms have a door that connect to the room next door. It make the room noisy and much less private.
Review 29:Everything
Review 30:Outdoor equipments Discret Charme Parking (indoor) Nice breakfast Sauna, Hamman, Spa, swimming pool, fitness room
Review 31:nothing
Review 32:everything but the weather
Review 33:Beautiful property with excellent facilities. We wanted secure parking and were able to park in a garage which was a bonus. The owners were very friendly and helpful. Would recommend and would stay again.
Review 34:Lighting was somewhat poor for reading.
Review 35:We loved everything about our hosts and the rooms. Breakfast offered a very vast choice, including different kinds of cheese. Regretted that we stayed only one night and could not profit from the spa and pool this time around.
Review 36:The Breakfast is great and the owners are very friendly and helpful. The Hotel is decorative and fully functional. Everything works. I would recommend this Hotel to all my friends.
Review 37:Quite hard to find - needs better signs. Split level rooms lovely, but not ideal going down wooden stairs to bathroom in middle of night.
Review 38:Very friendly small hotel, beautifully decorated within old tannery building. Lovely pool and garden, though we were there out of season. Fantastic breakfast, lots of home made produce. Veryhelpful owners.
Review 39:can be difficult to find due to complicated town plan (make sure your GPS is working, or look behind the municipal facilities); one of our rooms was poorly lit .
Review 40:nice restoration of the old tannery, comfortable, spacious rooms with high quality fittings and heating/cooling; pool and spa; very good breakfast choice and quality, helpful staff -who found a restaurant to our liking.
Review 41:illumination in the room. Difficult to read in bed.
Review 42:Different decor.Amazing! Fantastic powerful jacuzzi in room Friendly and helpful owners. The man spoke excellent English and lots of good advice on the area. Good breakfast- home made jams!
Review 43:not the best location for walking back into centre ville; its a bit on "the other side" away from the action and hard to find, actually.
Review 44:very polite, courteous and helpful owners marie-helene and Olivier. room accommodations very very clean and quality. owners met me with a small vial of the local banyuls aperitif/digestif wine. very comfortable place.
Review 45:No elevators
Review 46:This is one amazing hotel. We were offered a selection of two rooms –the Indian one and the Moroccan one. Both rooms were amazing. A greatswimming pool, yard, sauna and spa. Beautifully designed with attentionand care. When we have arrived, we were greeted with a regionalaperitif. The owner – Mary-Clair – was very charming and friendly. Theroom was huge, with a Jacuzzi. Comfortable beds. Secured and privateparking. Very accessible.
Review 47:WiFi not working correctly. Breakfast is expensive.
Review 48:Spotless, huge comfortable bedroom, parking, garden with swimming pool. Good location for exploring around Canigo mountain.
Review 49:Beautifullly decorated rooms, lovely breakfast, very friendly hostess. The pool looked inviting and i would have loved to stay there in the sunshine but we didn't stay long enough. I would definitely go back and stay longer next time. The mountains are very close and there are beautiful historical places to visit within just a few miles, such as Villefranche de Conflent and the abbey of St Michel de cuxa.
Review 50:The room was large and comfortable, and the other open facilities excellent, Top rate breakfast ,and hospitable ,friendly hosts who have obviously worked very hard to restore the building. On the edge of Prades, and therefore quiet, but only a short easy walk to the centre of town.
Review 51:No elevator. Steps to our second floor room were curving. Also, the town of Prades is rather bland, though hotel serves as an excellent base to explore nearby historic abbeys of St. Michel de Cuxa, Serrabone, and St. Martin du Canigou (vigorous uphill walk to last)
Review 52:What a unique place, an old industrial site completely made over into a modern modest-sized hotel. Our room was huge and had a sort of Moroccan design theme. Also has an outdoor pool and on-site parking. Great example of creative redevelopment of a property.
Review 53:Cannot fault this place, I will most definitely return here.
Review 54:Excellent standard of accommodation with a wonderful history. Helpful friendly staff. Excellent location in the town of Prades while quiet enough to make the trip relaxing.
Review 55:Rooms perhaps a little heavy in design but not really a complaint.
Review 56:Beautiful layout. Charming place. Very welcoming. First class storage for bikes.
Review 57:great hotel, perfect breakfast. easy parking and the sweet black cat was a bonus. If you are not a catlover, not to worry: it keeps a safe distance
Review 58:Everything was wonderful. Highly recommend this hotel.
Review 59:Big room, newly renovated bathroom with jacuzzi tub, covered parking
Review 60:Proximity to number of sites to visit
Review 61:Pretty typical French breakfast, so a bit expensive for that
Review 62:Cool Africa design, jacuzzi and a swimming pool very friendly staff
Review 63:The access to the property is difficult. Even our GPS system couldn't get it right
Review 64:A good clean & comfortable room. A good breakfast also.
Review 65:The hosts were very serviceminded and gave us a very pleasant stay in Prades
Review 66:The hosts were friendly and helpful. They were always working hard to make the grounds and facilities a pleasant place to stay!
