Reviews for Urban Sevilla

Review 1:There was no one around-I mean we just stayed there for a day and there was no reception nor people to talk to. One just checked us in and that was it. We wanted to left our luggage at hostal after checkout if possible but there was no reply to my email. and i can hear everything going on in other room

Review 2:location was great. We arrived there by bus from Granada and busstop was quite close. Additionally everything was in walking distance like cathedral, espanya plaza. And it was clean too. cannot ask more

Review 3:Toilets and showers were separated into male and female but they weren't particularly private. Toilets and showers were all in the same room and the curtains on the tiny tiny showers were small.

Review 4:If you'd rather not deal with a woman/man at the front desk, and you don't mind sharing a bathroom and toilet with others, then this is the place for you. We were buzzed in and told our keys were in our room. We came and went without having to hand keys back and forth. The room was neat and inviting. Amazing value for money in an interesting location if shopping is your thing.

Review 5:There is no staff to help you. The site says you can leave your luggage before or after your stay, but when asked about this they said, by phone only, that bags can only be kept 45 minutes after checkout time. This is not convenient at all. We ended up storing our luggage in a bus station nearby.

Review 6:Very central, very clean.

Review 7:Quiet times were not respected by other travellers and there was no staff at hand to control this. Unfortunately the room was overlooking a very busy alley and, although we were on the 1st floor, the noise kept us awake until early morning. Our private bathroom was fine, even though it didn't seem to have been thoroughly cleaned (for instance, the toilet wasn't flushed). The room itself was basic but tidy. However, some corners smelled of smoke. Beds were OK, although we could feel every single spring in the mattress!

Review 8:Central location and very cheap for a twin room with ensuite.

Review 9:You speak to a machine (which particularly didnt bother me) There is no lobby, neither nobody besides the cleaning lady in the morning. No parking nearby available. We parked in a public garage 20 mins away walking.

Review 10:Awesome convenient location. Staircases and elevator available. Clean rooms with old center street view In the very heart of seville

Review 11:No staff at all (!!), not so clean as read in the reviews, noisy inside, even with a big sign people still kept washing their clothes in the basin...

Review 12:Nice location, single room (even without private bathroom)

Review 13:the door of female bathroom cannot be locked, sound proof was bad.

Review 14:Location, clean bed. There is a nice restaurant across the street, toast with ham / omelette are recommended. You can visit the cathedral after 10 minutes walking though nice lanes.

Review 15:kitchen poorly equipped, not possible to prepare any hot meal (no gas/electric cooker), only cold water in the kitchen tap, small and broken electric kettle, claustrophobic showers, they didn't clean the room during our stay (4 nights), very loudly at night (room 26 - windows from the street side)

Review 16:Lady at the reception (Lucia?), very good location, close to the bus station, spacious room, individual electric sockets, nice terrace

Review 17:Sevilla has so much to offer in the many different areas of the city. Urban Sevilla is right at the heart of this city; from here you can head out in any direction and find a most wonderful to experience. The manager, Lucia, is a professional hotelier who has travelled the world by hostel so she knows what is important to her guests. Her team is also fantastic. A lovely and interesting place to stay, comfortable, convenient, clean and well equipped. Thank you Lucia :)

Review 18:Very, very basic facilities, no attempt at adding comfort or coziness, shared shower with doors that could not be locked, very poor wifi, toilet door kept getting stuck, nowhere to leave stuff in room except on the floor. Room not cleaned over 6 day stay. Stale smell in the building all the time -like stagnant water, or dirty wet clothes. It is inexpensive but their costs must be minimal. A little bit of thought and care, a few homely touches, or a little bit of colour could make this a lovely place to stay. The location is near enough to everything, but nowhere you would want to spend time in the evening/at night closeby-you need to move away from hostel to get to nicer parts, then walk back or taxi later. Also homeless people sleeping near doorway at night.

Review 19:comfortable bed, nice rooftop terrace, use of kitchen

Review 20:It could be better sound insulation, as it is very good heard when the other rooms leave early for flights and etc.

Review 21:The hostel located in very good place - and the old city, and the main objects of sight-seeing is close to hostel, but in calm street aswell. Hostel room is simple and simple furnitured, but with all needed things (common kitchen has everything needed for having light breakfast/lunch). The place is very clean and safe, the rest-rooms and showers are very clean all the time. Very nice terrace on top for breakfast or smokers. I would recommend to everybody, who wants economic place where to stay.

Review 22:Very hard beds, quite loud street during night, not so good localisation

Review 23:Kitchen, gym and terrace available during day, staff is rarely present, but most of important information is described clearly. Nice bathroom, bright room

Review 24:Very friendly and helpful staff, good facilities, incl. a lift, patio and kitchen on top floor, closing windows kept out most of the street noise at night.

Review 25:Everything is terrible - room was of a cupboard size, with just a bed. Absolutely no soundproofing. Floorboards creaked extremely loudly. Shared bathroom had only one functional shower right next to toilets.

Review 26:Cenral location.

Review 27:Showers is not very comfortable. In shower room there are 2 cabins. Cabin is too small to take shower comfortable.

Review 28:It's very good place for staying. We were staying here for 3 weeks. It's very close to the center of the town, main sights. Clean enough. Stuff is very nice. We were allowed our luggage in the hostel after check out tull our bus (for free). It's good place. I reccomend.

Review 29:there is no reception, you communicate over the phone. When you want to check in, you stand by the door ringing and hoping someone answers. Due to lack of reception, leaving luggage in deposit was impossible.

Review 30:Room with little balcony, the staff were very friendly and quick to help with any questions you had. Wanted you to feel at home and comfortable. Also clean

Review 31:not a social atmosphere at all. There was a common room on the top floor, but no one was ever there. If you're looking for a social hostel, this isn't the place. Otherwise, it met the basic needs. Walls were thin and could here everyone in the halls (people opening and closing doors, walking around talking in their rooms). Did not sleep well at all. Reception was closed when I arrived (around 6 pm or so) - spoke to the host via the intercom and was directed to my room, which had a sheet with all the instructions.

Review 32:When I did meet Lucia, she was very nice and helpful. The place was clean and close to main attractions and bus station.

Review 33:As a woman, I was a little concerned by the fact that the bathroom doors didn't lock (due to multiple shower stalls). Seemed like a very safe place, however.

Review 34:Great value: very clean, safe, central. Use of kitchen, nice roof terrace. Friendly and helpful staff. Near grocery stores, shopping, sights. We had a double room with huge windows and twin beds.

Review 35:The wifi was faulty - which was sad because it just needed to be rebooted. Parking nearby is expensive (but! with help of Lucia you can find a parking spot for 16E/day)

Review 36:Urban Sevilla is a great place to stay in Sevilla - especially if you plan to visit all of the great monuments and enjoy the late night walks in the narrow streets of the old town. The place is clean and modern with accents of the original decor. The top floor terrace is a great addition for the warm summer nights. Urban Sevilla has a good acesibility for disabled - a lift, reasonable width hallways and bathrooms.

Review 37:Owner was great, everything was very easy. She did the laundry for 4 euros which we needed by that point in our trip. Bathrooms were always clean. A/C worked very well. Location was close to metropolitan parasol and the bull stadium, everything else was only a walk away (and there were some buses too). Very close to the Plaza de Arma bus station, a bit further from the train but take the 32 and it gets you a block or two away. Would definitely stay here again.

Review 38:Bit noisy with very thin walls. No hob in the kitchen to cook. Never actually met a single staff of the hostel which felt a bit weird!

Review 39:Great location, comfortable beds, very clean.

Review 40:Not clean, ants in the kitchen, a cockroach in the room. No one at the reception so no tips about the city. no luggage room as mentioned the day we where there. Can't wash our clothes ourselves and the washing machines only open between 10am and 1pm

Review 41:Good Location, AC

Review 42:if you aren't used to a shared bathroom, it might be a bit uncomfortable for you, but they were always clean!

Review 43:the room was clean, excellent wifi, friendly staff, the roof was great!

Review 44:Owner great Louise. Very attentive and accommodating. Location great in center of old town with great tapas bars shops etc. all the sites river cathedral all within 10 to 15 minute walking distance. Rooms modern and clean and good value for money. With be staying there again and recommending it to friends.

Review 45:The noise was the only fault really. Was quite noisy outside. The rubbish collectors came in the middle of the night, every night. Also, the walls are very thin and the fact that all the floors are marble means every single sound is amplified and reverberates all around the building unfortunately. From a personal point of view I would have preferred 2 pillows instead of just 1

Review 46:Loved the location and Lucia was very friendly and helpful. Very reasonable price, clean and wifi was reliable. Aircon was a god send!

Review 47:The staff aren't around allot but they're super nice and helpful when they are around. The gym isn't much of a gym if that's what you're into.

Review 48:Good location, great rooftop and pretty clean throughout. My room was nice and light with a good little balcony. There was good storage/shelf space for all my thing :)

Review 49:Nothing!

Review 50:Very central. Great value for the money. I stayed in a private room with shared bathroom but they have many bathrooms in each floor and i have not used the bathroom with a single person as well staying here for three days. Clean, modern, comfortable. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!

Review 51:Rooms can be noisy if near the communal bathroom.

Review 52:Great location, clean rooms and facilities, friendly staff, nice roof terrace to relax in the evening after a days exploring.

Review 53:Bathroom very cramped. Other than that we loved it. Gorgeous tile in the interior.

Review 54:Very comfortable big room with three French windows overlooking a pedestrian-only street. Very quiet and clean. Table in the room and good light. Centrally located without being noisy. Rooftop patio.

Review 55:can be noisy at night. I stayed in a single room for 2 nights, which was tiny and uncomfortable. I upgraded to a double room on my last night which was much more spacious.

Review 56:Great location to lots of great restaurants. Staff was friendly and gave lots of tips for local travel. Would recommend for tight budgets.

Review 57:Very good location, very nice staff, very clean. I use to visit cities, not hotels, so this is exactly what I needed: a quiet and clean place to sleep, with a functional shower. And I've had more than that. The terrace was a pleasant suprise.

Review 58:Our stay was for 4 nights. During this period they did not clean and did not exchange towels. It was 34 degrees Celsius, so most days we wanted to shower twice a day. One towel is not enough in that period.

Review 59:The location and the price are the best assets of this hostel.

Review 60:it's difficult to find a parking space

Review 61:- So close to the city center; - lovely girl at the reception who was so helpful and gave us all the important information to go around the city

Review 62:The owners were just the loveliest. They were very welcoming and helpful. They will go out of their way to accommodate your request. The building is beautiful. It kept its original features. My room was clean and spacious. It is located in a quiet part of the city. City centre is not far at all, just over 10 minutes walk. Planning in going back to Seville and I would definitely stay here again.

Review 63:The room was not cleaned, or checked from Tuesday to Friday. We did not have enough toilet rolls (and had to take some from other loos) or towels. The noise from the street during the night was intolerable, but we could not close the window because there was no individual air conditioning. If they are charging 250 euros for 3 nights, they should up their game.

Review 64:We loved the property, the welcome from the young owner, the rooftop and facilities there. I think this would be very good value at normal hostel prices. However, we were paying considerably more owing to the April Feria. Despite the reasons given opposite, we would stay again. .

Review 65:Only drawback was the sinks in the shared bathrooms did not have anywhere to put toiletries. A tiny shelf under the mirror would have been amazing.

Review 66:It was just a friend and myself but the hostel gave us a huuuuge corner room with three!!! Balconies and three beds. It was amazing. Lockers in each room. Clean, neat, spacious!

Review 67:The hospitality of Lucy; the modern adaptation of the traditional building; the cleanliness; great showers; the rooftop area. Amazing value for money.

Review 68:Lucia is the hostel manager and is a fantastic host. The hostel is centrally located to the city. The hostel itself is clean, with a great rooftop terrace and kitchen where you can use the oven, microwave and fridge. You have a cheap laundry service there too. The staff there are the most friendly and helpful I have found in hostels. 10 out of 10. I will come back. Thanks to Lucia, Antonio and Maria.

Review 69:Tiles in the building are gorgeous, and roof top terrace lovely. Bathrooms are modern and clean, bedroom simple but clean and have everything you need.

Review 70:- nothing

Review 71:- friendly and helpful staff - located in the centre - excellent wifi - very clean, no problem with the shared bathroom - open kitchen and rooftop terrace ! great for homemade breakfast

Review 72:shared bathroom but ok for hostel no heater

Review 73:location-center of Sevilla, near bus stop for airplane and bus, catedral... clean room. good desk manager. kitchen for cooking.

Review 74:artificial and plastic owner who were not nice, cheap beds, poor towels, too much chlorine and cheap chemistry to clean the bathroom, lack of stove in the kitchen

Review 75:wooden floor is better then tiles, terrace and availabily of "kitchen", overall impression

Review 76:The wifi signal wasn't that strong but it was still usable. We did laundry (2 euros to wash and 2 euros to dry), but the clothes didn't get dried all the way.

Review 77:The location was fantastic and the staff was beyond helpful and friendly. I felt very safe and comfortable and really enjoyed our time there.

Review 78:It can be a bit noisy in the building depending on who your neighbours are, although this is always a factor to consider when staying in a hostel.

Review 79:The owner is extremely nice, friendly, and accommodating. She made sure our stay was perfect. The rooftop is amazing. This place has everything you need! Stay here!

Review 80:the room is really large with two separate beds. Good location, just 10 minutes walk to the plaza de armas, where we took the bus to Lisbon. The staff speaks good English, so you don't need to be afraid of communication problem.

Review 81:There is noise from the street, and sound carries between rooms.

Review 82:The the location is right in the centre. We could walk everywhere. It has all the facilities we needed at a great price. The kitchen is wonderful and we particularly love the decorative tile in the foyer. Lucy was extremely helpful.

Review 83:Staff is very small (two or three people) and not always on site. But you can contact them by phone if you need something.

Review 84:Staff is very friendly Flexibility (I cut my trip 3 days short with no problems or extra charges) Cleanliness (New facilities that are kept clean) Quiet (Not many people) Location (City center near a lot of good food, shopping etc) Kitchen available for cooking food (and eating cheaply!) Air conditioning/Heater Wi-fi Long bed that I actually fit in!

Review 85:We are traveling for a long period of time and in order to afford it we cook all our meals, a stove in the kitchen would have been nice, microwaves don't quite do the job!

Review 86:Central, good value.

Review 87:Great location (walking distance from bus station and main attractions, restaurants, shopping); room and facilities were very clean and my room had a balcony; staff was very helpful and gave me tips on the city; Overall great experience and big part of the reason that I enjoyed my stay in Seville.

Review 88:Nothing

Review 89:Clean, bright and air-conditioned rooms. Excellent location in the centre but in a quiet street with lots of cafes around. Lovely roof terrace. Bear in mind the price everything was excellent value. Shared toilet and shower room never a problem. The whole time I was there I always had the shower room to myself. Good wifi and the manager was very helpful and friendly

Review 90:- Showers (2) and toilets (2) are in the same room, closed by curtains (yes : if someones needs to go to the toilet he'll probably see you taking your shower), without anything to hang your clothes on. The shower is also so small that you almost HAVE to change just outside it (so once more putting you at risk of being nude in front of anyone entering the non-locking room) - Equipement is minimal in the room (two vertical surfaces, 5 hangers on a bar, one bed, one chair, one small mirror. No sink, no closed storage) - smell of sewers in the common area (but not the rooms)

Review 91:Well located

Review 92:The bed was miserable. It is the sort of bed the army uses (a folding bed) It may have been our fault but we arrived at the hotel round 2 p.m. when we said we would get there by 12;00. It took us round 6 hours to locate the owner in order to get in:-( when we did she told us her cellphone number was supposed to be on the reservation. It wasn't! We wasted many hours trying to sort out what to do. My advice is: Make sure you have the cellphone number of the owner!!!There is no one in the building unless you make an appointment.

Review 93:The location is excellent The room is clean The communal kitchen is immaculate There's a supermarket nearby There's a washing machine and a dryer

Review 94:Nothing important.Fridge too small

Review 95:Good concept. Function with quality. Stripped room, but easy access to bathroom. Spotless clean. Friendly staff keeping kitchen in shape.

Review 96:We weren't able to get a double bed.

Review 97:Hostel was very clean and the owners were extremely friendly. Great location. Easy walking distance from bus station and to local buses.

Review 98:- Internet wifi didnt work well, but fortunately there were many cafes around where I could use it

Review 99:- beautiful staircase, well maintained and centrally located building - reasonable value for the money I paid - had privacy and good sleep that expected - AC worked well, a few programs to choose from, - new windows overlooking quiet street, which is great as many other hostals of budget category may not have them - owners spoke English and were eager to help

Review 100:No ability to control room temperature so the room was either too warm or too cold; Very difficult to find the hotel and no close parking; The rooms are very basic and spartan with thin walls, IKEA furniture; We only received a sheet for the bed, and because we couldn't control the temperature we ended up using the towels as an extra covering for warmth; The hotel is located in a very touristic area where restaurants shut down early -- if you want good food and/or are operating on Spanish time, you need to go elsewhere to eat; We never saw the staff again after we checked in

Review 101:Location was an easy walk to various sites

Review 102:Lucia is the sweetest hostel-owner we've ever met, extremely nice and very very helpful. The hostel has a roof-top terrace with a great view, the kitchen is always spick-and-span, the toilets and showers as well. The wifi is a racing car, and the Metropol Parasol and Plaza Nueva only a 5 min walk away. Definitely worth a stay!

Review 103:Spartan decoration. Smell of smoking by previous guests. Bring your own soap. Washbasins tiny.

Review 104:Cleaner than many other accomodations. Recently renovated. Good value for money. Airco. Excellent location.

Review 105:The room I got was a bit sparsely furnished, a desk would have been nice as there was plenty of space, and a few hooks to hang things. Second floor looked a bit institutional compared with decorative first floor tiles. Noise from people echoes through the hostal but that depends on the guests.

Review 106:Big room with daylight, great facilities, roof terrace, Wifi worked in room, location. Friendly host who also speaks English. Would stay here again.

Review 107:The showers let a lot of water spread in to the floor... all completely wet everywhere

Review 108:Very good localization, but very hard to park - especially with all the roads on constructuion...

Review 109:Staff was phenomenal. The couple that owns the place are very helpful and friendly. The location was very good. Beds weren't the most comfortable but they are sufficient. There, is a great view of the bell tower from most of the rooms. The shared bathrooms are very clean and plentiful. Wifi worked best in the morning, but not as strongly later in the day.

Review 110:The wifi went in and out a bit, and the rooms are very spartan. Expect the basics, but the place is well maintained otherwise!

Review 111:Cleanliness, location, and friendliness were the main pluses. The terrace also has a great view, and the kitchen was useful for us traveling with a young child.

Review 112:Asked to leave my bags till the evening @ check out day but it was only possible to leave them till 3 am.

Review 113:Excellent location. Very clean and basic

Review 114:Lack of English speaking Person

Review 115:Horrible showers, only one tiny stall working in an unlockable room shared with the toilets for men for 10 people.

Review 116:Perfect location in the center

Review 117:A genuine, warm welcome from Lucia who was always happy to give advice. Good location.

Review 118:Wifi not good everywhere.

Review 119:Lucia was great, great place

Review 120:The best hostel I have stayed in. New, clean rooms, great facilities, nice personel and in the middle od the old town.

Review 121:Worst hospitality I ever had! The end.

Review 122:the room was fresh and clean

Review 123:on the second day of our stay wi-fi wasn't working

Review 124:roof terrase, spacious room, clean, great location - in the city center, quiet

Review 125:Friendly welcoming staff, great location, very clean, great roof terrace, no queuing for showers...and very good value for money.

Review 126:a bit noisy at night

Review 127:roof terrace is nice

Review 128:Efficient check in, everything clean and functional. Nice to sit on rooftop.
