Reviews for The Bell Country Inn
Review 1:It was a little cold in our room. But to be fair it was very cold and the building is old and original.
Review 2:Food and Beer was excellent. Clearly look after their beer and the food we had was very good. Accommodation was comfortable.
Review 3:As I have said, this is an old building and some people might find decor old fashioned, but it seems to fit.
Review 4:This is a lovely old pub, close to Crickhowell on the road to Abergavenny. They have four rooms, we stayed in the twin room 2. It is clean and comfortable. Yes the floor boards are noisey and some of the paintwork is not A1, but it is clean, quiet, the evening food was great, they will cook what you want for breakfast, within reason! For the money, it is brilliant and would stay there again.
Review 5:Squeaky floor boards, on entering the bedroom but added to the character.
Review 6:Good selection of beers (Brains Black was exceptional) superbly cooked White bait, Sea Bass,T Bone and Lemon Meringue, breakfast was included in the price and was very decent, enjoyed the Saturday singer. locals were friendly
Review 7:The bed was one of the smallest, most uncomfortable I have ever had. Staff weren't very friendly. It was busy when we arrived and the lady greeted us with 'that'll be £65'
Review 8:The breakfast was quite nice. The location was main reason for us booking as we were going to a wedding nearby.
Review 9:We were disappointed that we could not book in until six o'clock, I feel that 5 o'clock is late enough, when wanting to shower and then have a meal.
Review 10:Bed very comfy, evening meal very good and to our surprise the pub/rooms were quite.
Review 11:The food in the pub at dinner was not great - the lasagna was gooey, and a creamy chicken dish lacked flavour... maybe we just made bad choices, as the sea-bass on the next-door table looked far better.
Review 12:A lovely little pub with charming rooms and friendly staff. For the price, it's a very satisfying place to stay. The staff went out of their way to accommodate our bikes, which was really appreciated.
Review 13:The staff was friendly, but seemed a bit stressed. As if something was "going wrong" behind the scene. Nobody was rude to us at all, but you could feel some tension. So overall we felt comfy enough but were already welcomed warmer elsewhere.
Review 14:Very clean and comfortable rooms. It even was vacuumcleaned during the day between our two nights there. Good parking space. The breakfast was excellent-my boyfriend especially liked the fact that the baked beans were served in a little bowl instead of floating around on the whole plate..The food in the restaurant was very tasty. And even though the Inn is situated on a busy road and the rooms are above the pub, it was very quiet and agreeable.
Review 15:Landlord was surly, unapproachable and unhelpful!!! Wasn't warned to pre-book vegetarian breakfast
