Reviews for Le Calgary

Review 1:rooms given (one for selves +single for relative) were below standard required even for our single night stay at normal rates. The double room was a family room on a higher floor up stairs after the lift(had requested lower floor) and the room for one was a twin charged at twin for single with a serious mouldy damp problem which we decided to live with due to only sleeping/washing in it(hassle factor to move room) but our single occupant found out it was above the kitchen when awoken by early morning banging about--and the damp was probably from escaping kitchen steam.

Review 2:first impression--spacious rooms

Review 3:The wifi didn't work and they forgot to mention that at checkin...

Review 4:I booked a room with a shower and it wasn't an issue. They changed from a larger (upgraded room) to one with a shower with no fuss. The dinner was lovely at the restaurant.

Review 5:Great location. Helpful staff

Review 6:Ideal stopover on a summer driving holiday. Restaurant was excellent

Review 7:A little short on tea and coffee supplies in room.

Review 8:Very friendly and accommodating staff. Really comfy beds.

Review 9:The only thing I disliked was there was a strong smell of urine, clearly on the floor, in our toilet in room 18, possibly built up over time but let the fabulous standard of rooms down. Also poor signage to the hotel from the road.

Review 10:The staff were very helpful and we were allowed to take our family dog. Beautiful location and a great hotel.

Review 11:We arrived late in the evening (around 2230) after the front desk had closed, but we easily found our room key with a friendly note waiting for us. That made us feel very welcome!

Review 12:Over-rated 3 star, rigid rules. They charge ridiculous prices for a roomwhen it's not worth the value. Very 80's decor and could do withan overhaul for the prices they charge. They do it because they can getaway with it, otherwise very basic.

Review 13:The location of the hotel in a vey small village. The room was warmgiven the climate

Review 14:Cleanliness is given but it does not go into the details, which in otherwords means that it tends to be superficial. Of course this is a hotelin a ski resort and it demands therefore time to keep the common placesin good shape, but how can it be that at 11 A.M. the bathrooms in thehall of the hotel are in a horrible shape? I was after this stay in thehotel zur Mühle in Ismaning (near Munich/Germany): the huge house isnot as modern as the Calgary but it is strictly maintained, which Ifound was not at the Calgary. More cleaning personal could be the answerbut first a managing staff setting standards. We booked over your systema room with breakfast. Then we inquired you for half board. It resultedin a confirmation of the half board, which we received directly from thehotel, instead of receiving an offer. We do not know who is responsiblefor this. We had booked five nights from Tuesday to Sunday. This isprobably the reason why we had to take another room on Saturday morning, because it remains tradition in France that you book from Saturdays toSaturdays. It is not a big thing, but still disturbing. The second room(No. 29) was said to be in a higher category; indeed the wooden panelswere nice but the bathroom and the wc were not as good as in the firstroom (No. 32), the view was not so nice and the leg of one chair on theterrace was repaired with tape. We think that most repairs are notprofessionally done, which we regret because the hotel has undeniablyqualities. The hotel was packed all the time we were there, so it may beworth to do some real changes.

Review 15:Friendly and polite staff. Proximity to ski resort. All in all a goodplace to stay. The first room we had (32) offers a nice view and has alot of places to tidy things (it is a room for 2 adults and 1 child andwe were 2 adults). Vast choice of cheeses (I enjoyed tasting the Bouled'Avèsne), but it would be good to serve those using differentknives, in order to avoid to have for instance remains of Roquefort on apiece of Beaufort.

Review 16:The buffet style breakfast was extensive and perhaps the onlyshortcoming was an offer of hot food although I understand this is notnecessarily the 'French' way.

Review 17:Le Calgary is located exceptionally well for all the towns facilitiesand as a base for cycling (the purpose of my journey) was excellent. Ithad excellent garage facilities which is an important factor forcyclists wanting security and working space for their trusty steeds.Overall, I would recommend Le Calgary to anyone looking to explore this region.

Review 21:Very Friendly Staff, Clean and Comfortable Room, Great Food, LovelyWarm Pool.
