Reviews for Les Falaises Gluges

Review 1:We were greeted with a very warm welcome. Our room was a very good size overlooking the old village. Dinner in the restaurant was excellent and lady looking after the diners was a real character. Breakfast was very good and I particularly liked the homemade compote de pommes.

Review 2:We loved the charm and uniqueness of this place. The rooms were a good size and very comfy with lovely touches. The pool was great and we were the only people swimming most of the time. The hotel is located near a beautiful section on the dordogne river where canoeing was also available. The restaurant had good meals in a perfect setting. We could sit outside or inside and everything was very French country. The location was perfect being right out of the tourist traps but only minutes drive to most attractions.

Review 3:There was no TV in the room which we liked but may not be to everyones liking.

Review 4:The welcome was excellent and our room was spacious, very clean and comfortable. Wifi worked well. There were excellent facilities including a pool to relax beside. The restaurant was also excellent with the food and service outstanding. We will be back!

Review 5:no big deal but no tv. just fancied watching news in evening. In double -as noted on other reviews the bath could have shower curtain.

Review 6:Location, calm, quiet, pool. Friendliness of staff. Size of room (had twin & double) Terrace. No idea why some reviewers thought terrace wasn't up to scratch and I had hairdryer in room. Near Gouffre de Padirac.

Review 7:Not being able to eat our meals on the terrace - only drinks - just a missed opportunity, but not a major criticism

Review 8:Location Tranquility Attentive staff Excellent restaurant Clean room, comfy bed

Review 9:Courtyard wooden trellis would look much better if repainted. A shower curtain would be welcome over the bath.

Review 10:The welcoming staff. The comfortable room. The balcony attached to our room overlooking the courtyard. The staff member with the beautiful voice who sang the Edith Piaf songs so well. The good evening meal. Overall delightful 2 day stay

Review 11:The owner is a most helpful lady. We thought the setting was lovely, with a most unusual village as a backdrop. Huge swimming pool and large garden

Review 12:WiFi only in public area

Review 13:Location,staff and swimming pool

Review 14:Lovely location, rooms had character and great views. Had the pool to oursleves

Review 15:The village and surrounding area was stunning. The food was very good and the hostess singing was an added bonus.

Review 16:Lovely location and excellent value family room for a family of 5. Great food and a beautiful swimming pool. Would highly recommend to anyone after a good value, friendly place to stay whilst visiting the Dordogne

Review 17:The hotel staff were wonderful - friendly and helpful (particularly the owner, who came in her van to pick us up when no local taxi was available). The weather was terrible so it was lovely coming down for aperitifs in front of a roaring fire, and then enjoying some really delicious food.

Review 18:The beautiful position, walks into the village which nestles against the cliffs, walks through the walnut fields and by the river. Great food and wonderfully helpful staff

Review 19:We chose this hotel for its location, restaurant and swimming pool. The village and garden were lovely, but the swimming pool was empty. The food was good and reasonably priced, but they oblige you to order expensive bottles of wine (it was not possible to order the wine by glass). We found more than 100 euros for a dinner for two too much, especially since we only paid 40 euros for a much better dinner in a neighboring village. The room was quiet and ok, that is, if you don’t mind sleeping on a mattress which is so old that you can feel the shape of everyone who has used it. When we decided to leave after two days, they charged us with the remaining three nights cancellation fee of 30%, even though the promised swimming pool was not working. We do not recommend this hotel.

Review 20:Nice place in a peaceful setting.

Review 21:The hotel was small but comfortable and Madame gave us a warm welcome. The hotel was selected because of its proximity to Martel and its quiet location.

Review 22:pool,nice owner, beautiful view.

Review 23:The hotel was a pleasant stop over on our way to the Peyronees and we like the viaage of Martel very much

Review 24:A family run regional hotel with simple rooms and a simple but delicious menu, all at low cost.
