Review 1：Breakfast was very poor for what we paid.
Review 2：Very friendly and efficient receptionist. Good location. Large if austerely furnished two-room apartment. I didn't find it a problem to stay in a (very pleasant) seniors' residence.
Review 3：Great location. Walk to town centre and Chateau an easy walk. Clean, very spacious, secure and bright. Beautiful building and yard. So nice to have seating are and kitchenette.

Review 5：Spacious, we had a two bedroom apartment for the price of a hotel. Not far from the tourist district, if you don't mind a 5 minute walk uphill to get back to the apartment. The apartment is in a seniors complex, and was very quiet.
Review 6：View from our balcony of Chateau Amboise, service above and beyond by Mareille (?), private allocated parking, etc. all contributed to a most pleasant three nights. Despite what other reviewers found distasteful, the fact that it is a retirement facility, with infirm old people, did not detract from our stay. These places have to hold some units free for visiting relatives - if not required, they are rented out. All facilities were provided, incl. free WiFi, microwave, crockery, cutlery, tea/coffee in room. A great base for visiting all chateaux.

Review 8：We liked everything about it. The accommodation was generous, comfortable, good quality. The staff were charming. Easy to find. Within walking distance of local attractions. Secure parking.
Review 9：A couple of extra bits of equipment in the kitchen for self catering would be useful. A bit tricky to find when first driving into town.

Review 18：The spa was closed as it needed chemicals but the notice to inform us of this was in French in the changing rooms so we didn't notice it. We followed some other people and used it but were then reprimanded. Needs a clear sign next to the spa.

Review 20：The apartment was clean and very comfortable. Plenty of hot water, and great bed. What I liked most was the lovely views from the windows. The weather was very wet for the few days we were in Amboise, but the apartment was very cosy.
Review 21：The only niggle is the parking. We were allocated a slot, which had a van parked in it all the time we were there, so we were allocated another slot and the morning before we left there was a note on the windscreen telling us the slot was allocated to a staff member and we were to park in a visitors slot. It's a gamble to get a visitors slot and besides which we were guests not visitors! A very small niggle in a lovely, busy stay.
Review 22：The apartment was roomy and airy with a lovely view towards the château. Nice and central for the other châteaux along the Loire. There are some very good restaurants n Amboise, the Lion d'Or and La Forchette were our favourite. La Forchette is tucked away, quite small and very friendly. They serve simple, well cooked food and do it with a smile. We really enjoyed our stay and will probably go back and stay in the same place.
Review 23：We were surprised to find that it was a seniors retirement village! It didn't worry us, but might be a little awkward for young people looking for somewhere a little livelier.
Review 24：We enjoyed our stay at Domitys. The flat was comfortable and well appointed with a balcony overlooking the gardens, local church and village of Amboise. The surroundings and location were peaceful, picturesque and perfect for us.

Review 28：This hotel is co-located with a senior citizens' facility. The property enjoys an excellent location and the room size was extraordinarily large for France (or for anywhere else actually). The view of the chateau and the church from the room was unbeatable. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Don't miss out on this excellent accommodation.

Review 31：BE WARNED...this is not an apartment complex, this is a NURSING HOME. If that works for you, fine. But if you are like me and think you booked an apartment, the sight of old folks being wheeled in and out does NOT make you happy. I cannot believe booking.com would allow this deceptive method of increasing revenue at a nursing home. I did NOT spend a ton of money flying to France to stay at a nursing home and have juice for breakfast with old uncle Yves.
