Reviews for Ty Croeso Boutique B&B

Review 1:Not applicable.

Review 2:Alex was really welcoming. I'd had a long tiring day and she very kindly made me a cup of tea which came with some Welsh cakes, it was a really nice thought.

Review 3:Beautiful location with wonderful views but be aware: it is up a quite steep and narrow hill. Once arrived, it's a lovely place, very clean, comfortable, friendly, and the breakfast is superb. Recommended!

Review 4:A little too far from Newport to be convenient as a business accommodation location

Review 5:Superb room with tremendous hosts and excellent first class breakfast

Review 6:Location with views over the hills. Very comfortable and excellent facilities. Lovely breakfast with lots of choice. Very hospitable and friendly hosts

Review 7:I did not realise when I booked that it was not in centre of Crick (my own fault for not checking) and drive up narrow lane a bit hairy, but I actually think on reflection that the setting was nicer for its position.

Review 8:Hosts were very welcoming and friendly, and nothing seemed too much trouble. The breakfasts were amazing! Lovely countryside views and peace and quiet.

Review 9:Generally a very adequate B&B but for a fairly expensive 'superior' room some of the fittings (pre Cory & Alex?) rather dated and 'tired', the house was quite chilly and grounds a little scruffy.

Review 10:Comfortable bed, excellent breakfast, attentive hosts, lovely far-reaching views but a pity all the windows are quite high-set so only enjoyed when standing! Although no comfortable seating in rooms there was a lounge for guests' use. Courtesy call on morning of visit and tea and welshcakes on arrival were nice touches.

Review 11:Homely and beautifully decorated house and lounge. Lovely owners. Fantastic location. Though the room was not too big, it was very cosy and stylish. A real feel-good place overall.

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:Alex and Cory have really made the most of this wonderful property set overlooking Crickhowell. Beautiful and extensive finishing and decor highlighted the stay. Breakfast was of high quality with many options. Alex was ready to help in any way and it is obvious that they love doing what they do and involving their family. Room was delightful.

Review 14:Alex and Cory were very welcoming and friendly. We were given tea and welsh cakes on our arrival. Breakfasts were outstanding with a great selection to choose from.the room was small but very comfortable and had great views of the countryside.

Review 15:The B&B fully deserves such great reviews we couldn't fault the attention to detail throughout our stay, warm and welcoming and a lovely pot of tea and welsh cakes on arrival, nothing was too much trouble. Pure quality would love to go back again.

Review 16:The shower wasn't very powerful.

Review 17:Great hosts - really friendly and gave helpful advice about what to do in the surrounding area. Good breakfast too.

Review 18:No complaints. Recommended!

Review 19:We arrived at 11.30pm on a Friday after work. As soon as we turned off the car motor, there was complete silence in the area, as if everything had stopped. We felt instantly relaxed after a long work week. The owners of Ty Croesso waited for us to arrive and instantly made us feel at home, offering us a cup of tea and asking us about the trip. Really great place to stay, we slept well and had a great breakfast in the morning. The owners also helped us with finding interesting walking routes around the Brecon Beacons and even lent us a guide to take with us! We really recommend it!

Review 20:had a very small single room (no complaint about that at all) but it could have done with a few hooks for clothes, towel etc as other wise no where to put anything. It is no more than a small niggle

Review 21:warm, welcoming , comfortable. Alex and Corey were very hospitable; couldn't do enough. Alex even lent me a warm woolly hat when I thought I had lost mine (though it was a Stoke City FC hat!)

Review 22:Nothing to report!

Review 23:The location of the property is absolutely amazing - what a view ! The owner was so helpful and what was particularly impressive was the attention to a business traveller's needs. Early -ish breakfast, free wifi and smooth checkout. Very impressed would stay again!

Review 24:We loved every minute the scenery from our room the friendliness of all the staff the fact that every room was decorated in vintage chic gave a lot of French ambience located in a lovely location and overall experience was brilliant didn't feel like any hotel where you are a number we felt like we were known individually. Thank you for a wonderful stay

Review 25:Nothing. It was great.

Review 26:The owners were extremly helpful and ensured we had a fabulous stay - If I am visiting the area again I will deffinately be returning!

Review 27:1. The welcome was unnecessary lengthy - we were quite tired and celebrating our anniversary so it would be best to keep it brief so we could have some time alone. The sitting room was very nice but felt like we couldn't quite relax - not like other normal B&Bs, perhaps because it was immaculate and the house was empty so strange atmosphere. We felt as if we were 'visiting relatives' 2. A fair amount of noise early in the morning from cleaning and a distinct sensation that we were 'disturbing in someone's house' - it felt more as if we were guests visiting than - we were distracted talking in the room when the 11am time came, so we were quite rushed out as the had their personal commitments to go somewhere else. Fair enough but how it was done (we could have been warned the night before to be quite strict)... that spoiled th

Review 28:The house is beautiful, decoration is really tasteful, they placed us in a better room on request as the house was empty. Hosts were very polite and breakfast was very nice with good options.

Review 29:The owners are friendly and very attentive to their guests' well being. Splendid sense of detail. Feels like a hotel though with a familial atmosphere. Beautiful surroundings.

Review 30:Loved the room and the breakfast - hosts were fab - very friendly and welcoming, but not in your face! Superb location and lovely views out of the window. Loved the guest lounge area and the cup of tea and welshcake on arrival :-) Tidy! Would definitely recommend for anyone who loves walking or cycling and loves a quiet location only a short hop from cosy hostelries!

Review 31:We liked everything. The provide a fantastic service by driving us down to the local hotel where we then enjoyed a lovely dinner with a nice glass of wine without having to worry about driving.(we waited for the taxi for 5 minutes)

Review 32:-I cannot fault anything about Ty Croeso but my only teeny tiny suggestion is it would be great to have one of the 'pod' coffee machines in the lounge which could be paid for in the same way as the bar.

Review 33:Booked because of the superb reviews and we weren't disappointed. We arrived quite late on Saturday night tired, the b&b was easy to find and Alex & Cory greeted us at the door. They are warm and friendly and intuitive to your needs as a guest. We headed straight to sleep having taken delivery of our chilled water and placed our order for breakfast. (You can also order papers and homemade packed lunches)The room was very clean and furnished to a high standard, quality mattress, pillows and accessories, great high ceiling, stunning view, DAB radio and dressing gowns, towels, toileteries. you can eat breakfast between 7 and 930 and would go as far as to say it was the best breakfast we have ever eaten! Fresh coffee, locally sourced produce and a relaxed atmosphere, as many drinks and as much toast as you like and the team were attentive but not intrusive. Eggs benedict my favourite but a lovely selection of cereal, fruit and yoghurt too. Alex & Cory have the local knowledge to suggest places to eat and walk and maps/walking routes you can borrow. We felt able to come and go as we pleased and after a lovely morning walking down to, and exploring Crickhowell, we enjoyed borrowing scrabble and books to sit and enjoy in the stylish comfort of the lounge. Our 3 nights went far too quickly and we would happily have stayed longer and hope to be back very soon.

Review 34:Staff were so friendly and welcoming nothing was too much trouble. Beautifully decorated room and hotel. Lounge was sooo cosy and bar idea is brilliant! The master suite is exceptional and would definitely book this next time around. Staff booked our dinner out one evening for us and made us packed lunches for our walking trip! Lovely food an breakfast

Review 35:Owners are very very nice. The building is beautiful and historic. Location is very picturesque. One of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed in, if not the best.

Review 36:For us, the walk up the steep hill from the pub in Crickhowell was not a "dislike". We did this journey multiple times and enjoyed the exercise however less fit or able people will either have to use a taxi or their car.

Review 37:Stunning views across the Usk valley. Peaceful quiet nights in a comfortable bed with the windows open Owners were warm, inviting and helpful. We had only booked one night but stayed a second. Breakfast was varied and delicious. Easy access to hiking trails directly from the B&B

Review 38:We had a fantastic 2 nights and we're looked after incredibly well. It was a beautiful place in a beautiful setting. Have already recommended it to friends!

Review 39:Steep approach to property. A bit of a walk to town. Corkage charge expensive.

Review 40:Lovely building, very friendly owners, great breakfast, felt like home from home. Good base for Brecon Beacons.

Review 41:couldn't stay longer

Review 63:Warm family run outfit, very pleasant and extremely helpful with a fastidious approach.

Review 64:WiFi is hopeless and Cory is prone to forgetfulness

Review 65:The location, the room, the owners and the breakfast

Review 66:Gorgeous place to stay, in an idyllic location and staff were very friendly and helpful. Couldn't recommend it enough!

Review 67:The kettle cord was to short to reach any of the plug sockets.

Review 76:Door bell didn't work. Had to phone to get in. Difficult to find in the dark.

Review 77:Warm and friendly. Good food. Lovely view.

Review 78:WiFi was a bit poor.

Review 79:Absolutely cosy B&B, beaufiul surroundings, very friendly and helpfull owners. Strongly recomended. Good value of money.

Review 80:Alex and Cory were friendly and made us feel immediately at home. I required a walk in shower which wasn't available at the time we arrived, Alex kindly let me use the shower in a vacant single room. The breakfast was freshly prepared and very tasty and the view from our window was amazing.

Review 81:Ty Croeso was booked very last minute and we were thrilled with our find. It's a beautiful property with a stunning view. The lounge was just lovely and homely, room was great and breakfast extremely tasty. Anniversary bucks fizz was a lovely addition to the breakfast!

Review 82:Very friendly and helpful owners. Lent us books and gave us lifts into the village. Breakfast when you like, and a nice big living room with fireplace to relax in after a day of walking.

Review 83:Bit difficult to find first time. Driving up to site a bit tricky. Couldn't see the wonderful views unless you stood up.

Review 84:The location is quiet and secluded; the hosts wonderful; the communal lounge area is very appealing. Beautiful view from the site.

Review 85:Being located at the top of a very steep hill could be a concern for some.

Review 86:It was everything it claimed to be. The lounge was a beautifully designed restful place. The bedroom was clean and very comfortable. Very welcoming hosts but discrete.

Review 87:Alex and Cory gave us a warm welcome, lovely lounge area/breakfast room. The house has been decorated to a high standard and breakfast was excellent. Would definately recommend this B&B

Review 88:Nothing.

Review 89:Lovely hotel and very warm welcome by the owners with tea and Welsh cakes. Nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel very welcome at all times during our stay. We wish we'd had a few more nights to stay and would definately go back.

Review 90:Stayed in the converted attic suite and at £130 a night it left a lot to be desired. No real hot water, either tepid or cold. There were steps in the middle of the floor that were a real nuisence and were akward. There was no door to shower and water leaked on to the floor, no privacy if having a bath, no hair dryer, no bedside lamps or lockers, no fresh milk, no face cloths, no shampoo. All of which should be standard at the price. Overall very disappointed with the suite and suspect that the other rooms in the house would have been much better.

Review 91:Lovely house, and Alex is a really warm welcoming host. Very nice visitor lounge, lovely breakfast, plenty of parking spaces and the location is spectacular with the canal and the whole surrounding area.

Review 92:The room wasn’t very large, but quite enough, and comfortable. Our room had a great view of the valley. The bathroom was large and well-decorated (looked newly renovated, or at least very well maintained) with very high ceiling, giving a lovely feeling of space. There’s a large guest lounge downstairs, which seems nice to relax in. The owners were kind and caring, and we felt welcome. The B&B is up the hillside, some 10 minute walk (or 2 minute drive) from the town, but up a steep gradient – it’s nice to be a bit secluded, but just be aware that it’s not in the village itself. We only stayed for one night, but wished we had more time there.

Review 93:The location is incredible and the actual building is great. It located by a very nice canal with stunning views of the mountains. They were really good to us when we told them I just proposed to my girlfriend! One word - "Perfect".

Review 94:Very small room.

Review 95:Nice friendly staff and a very nice location of the building. We were welcomed warmly, although we reached quite late in the night (11 'O' clock)!

Review 96:- Not a disadvantage if you have a car, location is outside of Crickhowell (20m walk), but owners offered us to drop us in the village for dinner.- Room was small and a bit cold and bed a tad small, but would still come back to the B&B next time.

Review 97:- Very hospitable owners with good homemade breakfasts and willing to help out with almost everything.- Large library/living room available - Homely atmosphere. - Nice views on the village, river and mountains.

Review 98:nothing!

Review 99:Friendly couple who own the Ty Croeso made us feel very welcome. Warm, friendly atmosphere, spotless and a 'home from home' experience

Review 101:Nothing to dislike

Review 102:Wonderful decor, super comfort, great breakfast and charming hosts.

Review 103:We had a very warm welcome and nothing was too much trouble. The lounge was very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent.

Review 104:The owners' warm welcome and the beautiful views from the house.

Review 105:Not much at all

Review 106:Friendliness of owners. Helpfulness of owners. Just a nice place to be

Review 107:A bit overpriced for a signle occupancy accommodation Small room No wardrobe

Review 108:Cleanlines Friendly staff
