Reviews for Hotel Les Bories & Spa
Review 1:If coming by car and using a Tom Tom Sat Nav beware because it takes you to the centre of the postcode which is up a hill in the middle of nowhere! You are best to phone the Reception staff who will guide you there. We phoned and they met us in the hotel car park!
Review 2:The hotel staff were the best I have encountered in the hotel trade. Nothing was too much trouble.
Review 3:We do not think this property is a 5 star. Some of the hotel seemed a bit tired. We had water temperature problems, there was an elevator that was out of order the 4 nights we were there. WiFi was very slow. The linens were rather old in the bathroom. The tennis court looked like it could really use a good cleaning.
Review 4:We really liked the staff-very nice and helpful. Lovely grounds and landscaping.
Review 5:Wifi very unreliable. Breakfast should be incorporated in room price. Lunch at swimming pool was very disappointing.
Review 6:Wonderful swimming pool and sitting areas, both inside and out. Very comfortable.
Review 7:Very slow dinner service for a Michelin starwred restaurant. We waited 45mins for our starter which makes for a long meal when doing the 5 course. Food was faultless when it finally arrived.
Review 8:This feels like a luxury hotel, and is as such priced well. This hotel had really friendly staff, great facilities, and I'm so glad we stayed in Gordes instead of Avignon! Beautiful little town, well worth the visit. It was lovely to walk down the hidden trail to the village from the hotel, also.
Review 9:Had booked a suit with terrace, arrived late Friday evening to have to struggle in with luggage, push chair and small baby- no elec doors and no help given by staff, to be shown to a tired double room with small balcony. When I complained, got the feeling I wasn't the first via online booking to be fobbed off like this. When I complained the next morning I got the feeling I was certainly not the first, the manageress had a set speech that I was told not to interrupt, was rudely told that the photos on Booking . Com were of the views you might be able to see from the hotel and the terrace shown in the pictures of a terrace suit was of the main suit and not the terrace suit! When I complained that this was deliberately misleading and basically fraud we were offered a slightly better room. Stayed that night only because another far better hotel ( at pretty much same rate) was not available till the next day. In addition to the above , staff were unfriendly and thin on the ground eg only one waitress on duty at the pool who argued with me over the fact that that the tepid water she provides was hot Enough to make tea and a manageress who didn't seem to care that checked out 3 days early.
Review 10:Very good view
Review 11:Arrogant chef, reassured more than a day in advance a vegetarian dinner will be prepared and on the evening was informed we will get the same food as in the room service, overpriced tin tasting cream soup and handful of tasteless vegetables. Basically a hell for vegetarians this hotel. Also wifi very weak, inside pool water very cold.
Review 12:Nice views, nice outside pool, nice staff.
Review 13:we have a junior suite, and it has a really very bad smelling from the toilet. we asked for somebody to repair, but they only spray some perfume.. which was not helpful at all. in the afternoon around 3pm, all restaurants in the hotel closed, and only two dish can order from room service. we asked for travelers adopter, but they said it's all gone, no more left. and if we want to buy, it takes 30 min to drive…
Review 14:the view of the hotel is good, at the top of the mountain. the restaurant besides the swimming pool is good, especially the bbq.
Review 15:The restaurant was too pricy and the food was not tasty at all. The restaurant staffs were not as friendly and helpful. The drive to the hotel is narrow (which I know can't be helped) but the signboards were in french which made it confusing. I drove up the livraison path...
Review 16:Amazing place with an amazing view. The staff there were really friendly and helpful. Especially the Bellhop! He took the effort to ensure everything was in place.
Review 17:On the pictures on booking.com it gives you a choice of rooms we paid extra for a junior suit with a patio and private area. When we arrived we got a room that did not match the pictures it was a basic room. I complained and they upgraded us but it was still not the pictures that were on the booking.com it's a great place to stay but save your money on upgrading your room. On our second night there they were unable to accommodate us for dinner when you pay $579.00 per night for a room you would think they could fit in one more table of 2. Overall it was a great time but disappointed in the above.
Review 18:The location, the facilities and the staff were all really beautiful
Review 19:Unfortunately, our room was positioned over the restaurant (double superior) and had only one very small window in the room. Felt like an upmarket maids' room. I was also woken by breakfast staff setting up for breakfast before 5am. Reception staff were not particularly apologetic. Admittedly, the booking was made the day before so I don't expect the best room, but at a 5 star hotel I expect a little more. Drinks by the pool are overly expensive.
Review 20:Lovely pool and restaurant area, reception staff and doorman great area. Free shuttle into Les box helpful
Review 21:The restaurant only serves Michelin style gourmet food in the evening and there is no alternative venue to eat. The menu has a very limited choice of dishes for each course and it is the same menu every day. It is necessary to eat out if staying for more than a couple of nights and you do not want to repeat the same meal.
Review 22:The hotel has a superb location. Room was ccmfortable with wonderful views. The gardens and swimming pool very attractive and well maintained. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast very good. Light lunch at the pool bar very good.
Review 23:Don't get confused between dinner menus for half board and just having dinner
Review 24:have been 3 times before. Location unsurpassable. Attentive staff and lovely rooms especially in the converted cottages. Food undeniably lovely
Review 25:We had 2 rooms and one was in main building the other one was in separate building which has a very ugly, very old bathroom and Most of the doors of the room and teras were not working. They need an urgent renovation
Review 26:Very nice garden and view.
Review 27:Beautiful property with incredible views. Spacious rooms. The restaurant is top notch and must be experienced. Reservations are a must! Would stay at this hotel again. Highly recommend!
Review 28:The view from our room was beyond gorgeous. The property was magnificent and the staff gracious and helpful always. Our dinner at their one-star Michelin rated restaurant was outstanding.
Review 29:Extremely restricted menu, and unacceptably repeated on successive days Far too expensive menu for what was offered Incessant smoking by others at dinner tables Loud mouthed mothers
Review 30:Location
Review 31:Our the rooms were small and bad equiped, the bed was just a mattress with no header. Our rooms were located next to the garbage, so there was a weard smell inside.
Review 32:Location and amenities are good.
Review 33:No hotel manager The reception manager Nathalie was rude and ignorant. The shower didnt work The room was not cleaned Not five star standard Poor Breakast Expensive for what it is Better hotels nearby
Review 34:The location The staff at reception
Review 35:Room was nowhere near 5* standard. In desperate need of upgrading. Restaurant was stuffy and hugely expensive. Spa also excessively expensive.
Review 36:Staff were very friendly and helpful, wonderful pool.
Review 37:The restaurant was too expensive to eat in every night. There seemed to be no options for a smaller appetite / lower budget which meant driving to other places most evenings. This meant that the driver could only take soft drinks. The broadband connection was generally poor.
Review 38:The staff, the room, the pool, the garden, the location, the breakfast, car parking, the view!
Review 39:Prices of apperatifs, breakfast, and use of sauna, hamman not included. Bed needed a 'topper' to smooth out mattress,
Review 40:Sheltered terrace in room - the mistral was blowing!! Beautiful outside pool. Excellent staff
Review 41:Breakfast not up to 5* standard. We could not get a table for dinner and had to go to another hotel for it!
Review 42:The Porter
Review 43:beautiful grounds!
Review 44:quite expensive
Review 45:Beautiful location and facilities.
Review 46:Restaurant Personal

Review 48:The hotel was exceptional from the staff, the bedroom, facilities and food. Highly recommend and will certainly return for a longer stay next time.
Review 49:The dinner at the restaurant
Review 50:That atmosphere , the service , the pool lunch
Review 51:Wifi is poor
Review 52:Great service,great food
Review 53:No effort by hotel to enhance their old rooms.
Review 54:The setting and grounds and pool area are nice .pool service is poor.
Review 55:Gourmet food
Review 56:Shower goes hot & cold. WIFI WEAK
Review 57:Staff very nice and helpful. The grounds are very nice.
Review 58:Hotel advertised with air-conditioning but not actually available.
Review 59:the room
Review 60:the view and the swimmingpool
Review 61:location, garden, pool, quality of service, room, restaurant, winelist
Review 62:Would have preferred a room on the first floor but that's being picky.
Review 63:The location, the hotel, the food.
Review 64:pool, park, location
Review 65:The rooms are becoming a bit dated and could use a refresh soon. The downstairs rooms are surrounded by scrubs so private if you like that but if you want a view you have to request upstairs.
Review 66:Beautiful surroundings and views. The landscaping was excellent and very relaxing outside.
Review 67:For the money that we pay I expected to find better quality products inthe shower, the breakfast was not inlcuded and was not worth 23 eurosper person. I will recomended this hotel but not at the price of 450euros pe room plus brekfast completly over rated.
Review 68:The staff were very helpful , the indoor pool was ok .
Review 69:Bed was horrible for a 5 star hotel, restaurant offers poor value for money, area is difficult to access if you want to travel in the area
Review 70:Fabulous setting, superb pool area, friendly staff, nice rooms
Review 71:Price-quality not very good. A very good hotel but for that price you expect more.
Review 72:In general we really liked the hotel, the facilities and the staff but it was less then what we expected to receive for that price.
Review 73:I have never seen such a poor service in a 5 star hotel!!its definitely not a 5 star!So too expensive for the service given. Will never go back.
Review 74:The view and the pool area
Review 75:When I booked this room I had a choice of three prices. I chose themiddle price because I wanted a balcony or garden room, which we weregiven. I also booke the hotel because it had ac. At 11pm I discoveredthat if all four rooms in our group wanted ac we could have ac. Oneperson elected heat, so no ac for us. At 399.00 a night I wanted ac. Theroom was stuffy and there were no screens on the windows, so opemningwindows was not an option. We were told we could sleep in another roomon the second floor. We asked about compensation and were told that theywould discuss it in the morning. The next morning the gm had not come inby 9:30. Finally after a few strong words we were given 30 percent offthe night before and a suite. By then it was not very restful. The suitewas big and the view was great if you could see between the weeds in theplanters. The awning was torn, the floor boards were warped by the doorsto the balcony and the bathroom. We were not the only people with aflooding problem from the shower. I would not recommend this hotel.Overpriced!!!
Review 76:Swimming pool and the restaurant.
Review 77:Lacking in service when we arrived att the bar. We seemed to have beenoverlooked. Dining room somelier brought us a bottle of wine that we didnot order(it was €150.)Had a hissy fit when we said. We had ordered awine for €50
Review 78:Enjoyed the tranquility. Loved going to the pool at the end of the dayafter coming home from an excursion
Review 79:Terrible breakfast service 23 euros/person (scrambled eggs looked likevomit and no attention to food presentation; did not inspireconfidence and so we never tried dinner, especially given theextortionate price); no better than a three star buffet in Spain. For310 euros/rm do not accept rm 2, same price as room 7 but with noview, no light, no shower curtain No food at the pool after 4 pm, andthe hotel literally sold stale donuts from the breakfast buffet withtea for 10 euros ! Shame on them. Spa is understaffed and did a verypoor job (lopsided Brazilian maillot!)
Review 80:The heated pool ALmost makes up for the three-star-level service thatcost us 2250 euros for 3nights (2rooms) Gorgeous countryside, but thereare tons of nice hotels around, the Bories does not own this, luckily
Review 81:We expected a somewhat more inventive chef for our dinners. Same dishes as last year! A bit boresome if you stay several days...
Review 82:Last year's room was not free, but thanks to housekeeper Nathalie we had it for the 2 last nights. Again a wonderful experience, although the terras still showed the signs of the bad weather from previous weeks. Staff though is omni-present and very helpful. Lunch at the swimming pool is a perfect alternative for the many bistros in Gordes centre. In general, absolutely recommendable.
Review 83:Could offer more English and other language channels on cable tv for aninternational clientele...
Review 84:From the moment you arrive at Les Bories, until you leave, you will findyourself in luxurious country retreat with amenities that match itsbeautiful Luberon surroundings. The excellent facilities include anexcellent restaurant that offers inventive cuisine using local products,a first-class spa, superbe indoor and outdoor pools and a very well-equipped, full-size fitness. Service is reliable, professional anddiscrete. Calm absolute. Free parking. With the village of Gordesnearby, a world class place and setting.

Review 91:the service at the pool is very slow
Review 92:the setting and the atmosphere very plush but intimate
Review 93:Long wait to be served at poolside bar

Review 95:Good food. much better than La Bastide de Gordes.

Review 97:facility(pool,outdoor or indoor), restaurant,breakfsat
Review 98:Decoration, not value for money
Review 99:Staff, cleanliness
Review 100:We liked the room very much. The room was with a big terrace facing Gordes' castle. Pools were excellent. And the restaurant was amazing.
Review 101:it was excellent in every respect. Good food, fantastic pools and Spa, tranqil with excellent service 10 out of 10.
