Reviews for Hotel Las Casas de la Judería

Review 1:Room could do with a spruce up maintence wise.

Review 2:A very interesting set of hotel rooms with wonderful connecting coridoors. Has charm and old world flare. Comfortable beds.

Review 3:We had to leave to go home.

Review 4:The location of the hotel is perfect but it is the Hotel itself that is amazing. It was a maze of tunnels, gardens, patios and lots of steps. Wonderful artefacts were dotted around and the breakfast was excellent. We went for Three Kings and we were surprised at the reasonable cost.

Review 5:last rooms have no natural light: should be informed.

Review 6:General aspect and perfect personnel. Handled very well a noise in the room by changing after first night.

Review 7:There is no internet in the rooms. Some rooms are really small for the hotel category (for example very low ceiling in room 34) so make sure you are satisfied with the room you are given.

Review 8:The hotel is very nice and unique. Furniture and toilets are beautiful. The location is in a touristy area but close to the train station and Sevilla is not that large so walking can get anywhere.

Review 9:the only thing i which i had in my room was a little more ventilation in the bathroom.

Review 10:i love everything about this hotel; the buildings and locate are great!

Review 11:I booked two standard rooms for myself, 10 year old and two 18 year olds. They upgraded one of the rooms to a room with two double/queen beds that were in a loft with a large Jacuzzi tub, small desk and on the first level was a sitting area with a TV and another bathroom with a shower. The other standard room was also nice with a king size bed and bathroom with a tub. Both rooms overlooked an outdoor courtyard. The whole property was very unique and interesting in its architecture. Definitely one of the most unusual (in a good way) places I have stayed.

Review 12:Rather disappointed with Christmas Night meal in the restaurant. Also, proximity of next room's toilet to our bed head but it didn't spoil our enjoyment of this lovely hotel.

Review 13:Great quirky hotel! Staff very friendly, good breakfast and loved the piano bar!

Review 14:The bathroom is quite small which is not big enough for two people even for one. Besides, it is noisy with different people and from old water pipe on house ceiling.

Review 15:The hotel is built in an old historical building with beautiful garden. And once you walk in night, the building is like a very big maze. Beaides, the location is amazing in old center which is quite convinent by walking to the sight spots.

Review 16:the rooms far away from the Main lobby are a bit overprized.

Review 17:these old houses are well maintained and nicely decorated. it gave me the opportunity to wander freely through sevillian houses.

Review 18:The hotel was really beautiful. It was definitely the most original hotel I have stayed in. The room was very comfortable and the location was brilliant.

Review 19:Having breakfast in the basement with sunshine outside. Breakfast very poor. Asked for bacon,Not really cooked, another visitor said the same. Waiting staff most unhelpful, having a good time talking to each other,no time to ask"can I help you".No brown bread with seeds no help.very poor.

Review 20:The location and space. Room cleaning very good, friendly, helpful. Cleaned the room over run with small ants very quickly. Horrid to wake up to.

Review 21:Wi-Fi was a little poor in our room but ok in the public areas.

Review 22:This hotel was an astonishing find, possibly the most interesting I've ever stayed in and I've stayed in many. It was a little tricky to find, being in the heart of the old city among a labyrinth of streets, but what an amazing place. The photos on the internet don't do it justice. We were met outside the front by a concierge who led our party of three motorcycles down a side street to a parking place under the hotel. From there it was through a maze of tunnels and stairs to reception and then more tunnels and stairs to get to our room. It's so easy to get lost in this hotel that they give you a map when you check in and it's an absolute pleasure to get lost here, everything is beautifully designed and decorated and every turn is another wow moment. The buildings that make up the hotel date back to the fifteenth century and the whole place drips in history, for some people I can understand that this might be not what they are after, it is old and could be a little bit awkward for someone who has lots of luggage or is movement impaired but it's clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and made good recommendations for things to do while we were there. The breakfast was delicious and was both buffet, for a fixed price, and a la carte. The food was a little pricey but the dining room was another great experience and worth the extra few Euros. If you are going to Seville and you like hotels that are interesting then this quirky, unique place is an absolute must. Easily worth the 9.1 that Booking.com rates it.

Review 23:Internet service could be better, only available in common areas.

Review 24:Very cosy and authentic place in Old Town, just a short (5 min) walk from The Cathedral. Very good restaurant.

Review 25:very cool hotel lots of courtyards, tunnels, beautiful spa area lovely piano room. great location easy to walk to all tourist sites, great little cafes close by

Review 26:Nothing

Review 27:Amazing hotel located within easy walking distance of all the major attractions in the city of Seville. Hotel layout is amazing with a maze of tunnels to get to the rooms. Has to be seen!

Review 28:Beds aren't as comfortable as I would have liked.

Review 29:Fantastic property at a terrific price. Location, location, location! This is where you want to be in Sevilla.

Review 30:Maintenance is poor, or at least was in our room (no. 67). The water clogged in the sink, you couldn't take a shower without flooding the whole room, one light bulb was burnt, and the worst - one chair was completely broken and in fact a hazard to sit on. Also, the internet does not work in the room, so you need to go out and sit in a public area if you want to work or make a Skype phone call, for example.

Review 31:The design of hotel is very nice, comfortable bed, quiet room, great location.

Review 32:Nothing.

Review 33:This is one of the most beautiful and unique hotels I've ever stayed at! The property is gorgeous. Walking through all the courtyards and passages was a ton of fun! The rooftop view is spectacular. The staff was very nice and professional. I loved my stay here!

Review 34:Thin walls and a bit of mold in the shower. WiFi not accessible in the rooms.

Review 35:Great location. Right in the heart of old town. The hotel is a maze of old buildings so its an adventure to navigate.

Review 36:Disappointed that the outdoor pool has to be closed from sometime in September onwards. The temperatures are certainly high enough to keep the pool open into the autumn.

Review 37:Character of the hotel, and some of the staff were particularly helpful. Teresa (breakfast and bar) was exceptionally helpful.

Review 38:Not wheelchair friendly and wifi didnt reach our room. They have lifts in the hotel but there are still stairs which made it so hard for my husband to walk

Review 39:The hotel itself is a masterpiece. Very nice archi and design. Location is quite convenient too and staff were helpful

Review 40:Ďidnt like that there were no tea/coffee making facilities in the room. And was charged €2.73 when I asked for an electric jug to do so.

Review 41:Loved the interesting tunnels and the atmosphere.

Review 42:On arrival we were given a room that was ok though if you are overweight you would struggle to use the shower and toilet and god forbid if you had an accident in the bathroom I have know idea how they would get you out. The first night was horrendous with noise from the plumbing every time someone turned on a tap or flushed a toilet you could hear it in our room. It was like the noise of toilets on an aeroplane. The next morning we asked to be moved and the Hotel obliged (I am sure they new about the plumbing issue) and the 2nd room was much quieter.

Review 43:This is a lovely hotel. The hotel is actually several houses all joined together by a series of courtyards and alleyways. The décor, gardens and fountains are lovely. The location for exploring Old Sevilla is excellent.

Review 44:Poor organisation/ horrible breakfast room with poor quality food (tasteless and very little choice - bacon swimming in fat etc). Room service offered but with no menu. Could be a wonderful hotel but the level of service and comfort offered to the guests is just not there.

Review 45:Good location

Review 46:We arrived at very late hour to the hotel. Our room was little bit smelly at first. Finding rooms at the hotel is little bit confusing we lost 2 or more times at the hotel could not find our room. There maybe more signs or tables for the directions.

Review 47:The hotel is a combination of 27 old houses which you can experience old city life. We stayed in other building conplex. It was silent and comfortable. Hotel is like a museum, go and discover the other houses and such beautiful gardens in it. We like the personal, especially Sergio was very kind. Wifi was working in our room. The room has been cleaned everyday.

Review 48:The only think is that there's no wifi in the room.

Review 49:Everything is super good!! I extremely like the interior design of the hotel, both the common area and in the room. Very friendly and professional staff.

Review 50:Paid a premium because it was a holiday weekend. If I'd gone the following weekend prices would have been lower/more reasonable. Next time I'll pay attn to that.

Review 51:Absolutely beautiful hotel and wonderful, spacious room. Easy walk to Alcazar, etc.

Review 52:The internet access was intermittent and unreliable. They really should take steps to improve it - it is not worthy of a hotel of that quality.

Review 53:It is a delightful hotel in an very good position.

Review 54:Bathroom fittings need replacing. Bed near collapse. More than half the lights not working. Wi fi only at reception. Over priced for condition.

Review 55:Very good location for exploring, lovely little courtyards for chilling out. Really quirky

Review 56:The Wi Fi is apalling. It is only available in public areas. This is a major issue for a hotel which describes itself as a four star hotel. The breakfast service was also not the best with one coffee machine for over 50 breakfast customers.

Review 57:A great location close to major venues. The hotel has a unique and labyrinthine structure which was extremely interesting but may not suit people who like traditional hotels.

Review 58:The bed was impressively huge, but the saggy mattress desperately needs replacing, it has a big dip in the middle. We kept rolling into the middle and ended up with very sore backs after a couple of nights in it. Also the roof pool is closed (something to do with solar panels), which we only found out about when we tried to go there for a cool off after a hot day's sightseeing. Not sure if this is permanent, but if so references to it should be removed from hotel advertising and photos on the website, and either way patrons should be informed when booking.

Review 59:Loved this unique and eccentric hotel, what a wonderful experience. We had a huge room at the far end of the bottom floor, with a communal sitting room as well as the lovely central courtyard. A complimentary fruit basket was also in our room on arrival. The whole area was delightful, with several restaurants just outside the hotel and not far to walk to the main attractions of the city. Wouldn't have missed this hotel for the world, it made our stay in lovely Seville even more memorable.

Review 60:We were not happy with the behaviour of a tour guide who was using the hotel for a private tour party. We were disappointed the pool was closed in September whilst the temperatures were still high.

Review 61:We were very impressed with the character and beauty of the hotel and proximity to all the main attractions. The staff were very friendly and attentive at all times.

Review 62:Small room with little space Toilet door was broken Shower head was broken and when taking a shower, the whole bathroom was wet Pool was out of order

Review 63:The set-up of the different houses and underground connection is cool

Review 64:Wifi was problematical in communal areas (we knew it was not available in rooms). The pool was shut even though it was still 32 degrees in the first month of autumn. Some might see this as quaint but underground maze to get to different buildings made it tricky to get back to our room (we saw other lost souls too). Was easily our worst value for money on our whole trip. Food cost in hotel was high so we did not consider eating there.

Review 65:Good location. Piano bar music

Review 66:Low ceilings - couldn't stand in the shower and had to crouch andcrawl to get to the bath or mini bar. Noisiest hotel I have ever stayedin. Other rooms' plumbing sounds like an express train through theroom and as for the air on .,,Noisy party on the roof until 2.30am. Hadto ask four times for towels on one day that housekeeping forgot. Thishotel does not know that what matters most is a good night's sleep.Feeble wifi only available on the lounge (in 2015!!!)

Review 67:Noises from adjacent pensions. Tiny toilet.

Review 68:A very special environment to explore and rest in. So unique and relaxing. Piano bar and restaurant were excellent.

Review 69:A long walk to the room up and down steps (not too great with a heavy case). No WiFi in the room, no choice of English speaking TV channels.

Review 70:Location was great in the Santa Cruz district. Very different experience - hotel(s) joined by underground walkways intersected by charming patio gardens with fountains and flowers. Lovely room.

Review 71:the plumbing in our bathroom smelled and the three tapas we had in the bar were expensive, inedible and a disgrace to the hotel and Seville.

Review 72:The collection of beautiful houses and patios all connected together is a wonder and worth the price, which is not cheap.

Review 73:Bathroom and shower in need of refurbishment, improved ventillation (room had a smell). Suitcases on cobbled/stone floors are very noisy. Poor coffee for breakfast. Our room was several hundred steps up and down from main reception. We do not have mobility issues but others might find that distance and obstacle course challenging.

Review 74:Individuality and charm, patios, restaurant food was excellent. Breakfast expensive for what it was.

Review 75:The wifi was a bit dodgy - we could get it in our room but it kept dropping out and was a bit slow.

Review 76:The hotel itself was lovely and it was great value for money. It was kind of fun to find your way to breakfast in the underground tunnel!

Review 77:The breakfast menu covered all tastes and was very comprehensive. However, the self service area was in too small an area and was thus very crowded & uncomfortable. We thought the reception staff were a rather poor standard as we were given completely the wrong advice as to where to eat out in the evening. We were very disappointed that the pool was closed as this was one of the reasons why we chose the hotel in the first place.

Review 78:Very conveniently located as we were in a hire car & could thus benefit from the nearby parking. We found the hotel of great historical interest & were fascinated by it's unique character & charm.

Review 79:Loved everything about this beautiful hotel starting from the front desk staff (including Porters) upon checking in. They were welcoming and assisted in every way possible during our entire stay. The meal in the restaurant was excellent and the waiters (Diego, Victor and Alberto) were top class and very attentive to every detail. Lovely sitting in the courtyard at night having drinks. Would highly recommend this hotel!

Review 80:The experience was a little less luxarious then I expected - matching the price and ambiance. Not dure why. Probably because of the minimal and strictly practical contact with the employees.

Review 81:The ambiance and the mysterious alleys and connected buildings were behond my expectations.

Review 82:Very disappointed that pool closed. I commented to booking.com before wetravelled but no reply !! I know the hotel saidthat the weather hadimprocved -surely they could have filled the pool again. Heard a lot ofadverse comments.enjoyable

Review 83:Disappointed that the pool had close earlier than stipulated on booking.com - my selection was based around the pool, I only considered hotels with pools, and didn't get to use one therefore I was totally misled on that front.

Review 84:Beautiful building, polite helpful professional staff and proximity to centre without being right in the tourist zone........there was an amazing selection at breakfast.....

Review 85:Pool could do with a good clean.

Review 86:EVERYTHING. Amazing hotel, wish I could have stayed longer. Loved the history and ambiance. Loved the underground tunnels to the rooms.

Review 87:WiFi signal was a bit hit and miss in the bedroom.

Review 88:Great location. Hotel full of charm and character. Room equally full of character . Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 89:WiFi is available only in the public areas, although, given the spread out nature of the hotel - which is what gives it its charm - there is probably no alternative. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful, but perhaps overly busy and a little distracted.

Review 90:The hotel is a collection of lovely old houses joined by winding passages and courtyards - it's gorgeous! The pool area and bar were great - except that the 'music' was deafening. Perhaps this just shows my age! The room was beautiful and comfortable, and the central location was perfect for exploring the city.

Review 91:The hotel is gorgeous, the staff is very helpful and friendly, and the spa is fantastic as well. Overall a fabulous experience, and I will definitely go back!

Review 92:Pool closed despite web site displaying prominently and stated to beopen June to September. Because staff couldn't be bothered to reopenafter rain. Not acceptable given hot weather during our September stay.Lots of other accommodation in old houses without paying premium forpool. Wifi terrible. If you want a pool or wifi, stay elsewhere. Afterstating we'd only booked so we could enjoy pool, were given smalldiscount but we missed having pool in hot weather and won't be back.No airflow in room either.

Review 93:Good location and atmospheric old casas

Review 94:Beds werenot comfortable at all and whilst breakfast was good facilities for serving it were poor. Great 'internation' atmosphere but it has a feeling of being a 'hostel' in style rather than a 4 star hotel, not a bad thing but you need to be prepared

Review 95:Location and mismatch of styles throughout the property

Review 96:Breakfast room was in the basement and quite gloomy. Automatic coffee machines did not make good coffee.

Review 97:Fantastic location and totally charming public spaces and rooms.

Review 98:The hotel has an excellent location. We liked the style of a building and interior design, which reflects the beauty of Seville. Staff is friendly and efficient and makes you feel very welcome. The only downside was the closed pool. In September the weather is still very summery and we would enjoy a cooling swim. Maybe the hotel management will consider to keep the pool open throughout September. We highly recommend this hotel and will definitely return.

Review 99:Wifi only in public areas, The wallpaper peeling off in our room. Noise of next doors toilets

Review 100:Brilliant Location, close to the major sites. Querky Hotel you can easily get lost.!

Review 101:Somewhat confusing access to rooms. Hotel is an innovative composition of many small buildings connected by underground passage ways & a variety of elevators. A modest not sumptuous self service breakfast was offered in an indoor area that required going up a few steps to get the food, coffee machines in corners with no real table service except clearing.

Review 102:Very helpful staff & good location within walking distance to major sites. Mature travelers should ask for room in main building to avoid confusion and need to use a variety of elevators or "alleyways" to reach room.

Review 103:Roome a little bit smelly. Recepion and waiters not very attentive. E.g. if you are sitting in the patio ( very nice surroundings ) you will wait in vain to be servered. This is clearly a management failure.

Review 104:Very stylish hotel. Eyery room, lobby as a special flair.

Review 105:Poor customer service from 3 members of staff affected the whole experience. Really difficult to get a drink from the bar. Seating very uncomfortable in the courtyards, which was unfortunate as the pool was out of order and we were told not to go onto the roof. Breakfast not up to expected standard of 4 star hotel

Review 106:Beautiful buildings, courtyards and exceptionally clean

Review 107:The staff was hardly nice when we checked in. I felt like an object being treated. Then I had to ask to discover that the swimming pool had been out of order for days. I finally got a compensation for it but I had to insist for. Not acceptable from a 4-star hotel.

Review 108:the place, the comfort

Review 109:We booked this hotel as it had a swimming pool and when we had been sight seeing could relax on the roof top and cool down but the pool was not open ??so got very very hot up there! It was 40 degrees !!!

Review 110:Very peaceful hotel to say your in the middle of town pretty gardens. When we arrived the porters came straight out to the car as the road is very busy and they took the car away for us.

Review 111:AC not working the first night (we had to change rooms at 3 am), rooms need a massive upgrade (it seems that because the hotel is meant to be traditionally decorated, not much effort is put into upgrading it), beds are uncomfortable. Certainly there are better options in the area for such prices or even lower.

Review 112:Location and concept are very good.

Review 113:Impractical. Room had very low rafters in the eaves so we couldn't use second sink or bath. Shower leaked over floor. Couldn't sit straight on toilet because no room. Roman blinds couldn't be opened. One morning at breakfast in basement, raw sewage leaked in the corridor! Swimming pool was shut last day of stay - not stated when booking.

Review 114:Beautiful and interesting decor

Review 115:there was nothing to dislike

Review 116:Location is perfect for accessing the city The hotel is quirky with all the alleys leading to the rooms Staff were marvelous Will definitely be going again to explore more of this beautiful city

Review 117:Just that our window was looking at the swimming pool bar so to have privacy we had to keep curtains closed and was quite dark. They ask 20 Euro for the parking but on July and August Saturday and Sunday parking on the streets nearby is for free.

Review 118:Amazing hotel in the centre of Sevilla formed by different coloured tipical buildings connected by nice Andalusian patios that creates a nice and warm Spanish atmosphere. Not the usual modern hotel building. Economy Room very big with big bathroom with jacuzzi and separate shower and separate toilet. Get lost in the hotel is like get lost in a small nice village. Swimming pool and bar on the rooftop and Spa on request with prices not high. Staff speaks a lot of languages even if they were a bit cold but they helped us with the luggage until the room. The hotel is in one of the most beautiful neighborhood of Sevilla in the center.

Review 119:Everything you look for in Seville. The hotel is in the great location, the building itself is gorgeous and full of history. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooftop pool is the bonus, so pretty and relaxed.

Review 120:We didn't get a double bed and had two single beds in our room

Review 121:The pool on the roof of the hotel was a great comfort after a long hot day walking around the city. It was a great way to cool down and chill out!

Review 122:We were only there two days but I think if I had been there longer I would have preferred my room to be better lit. It was very dark even with the lights turned on but perfectly adequate.

Review 123:The location was just what we needed. It was within walking distance of everywhere we wanted to go and only a short walk to the train station. The hotel was enchanting! The tunnel that ran from one side of the hotel to the other was amazing but you certainly needed the map we were given on arrival. Would certainly recommend a visit.

Review 124:Only criticism is our rooms were very dark. No windows onto exterior but internal corridor or courtyard. But a minor issue

Review 125:Great location and value for money in really pretty buildings..

Review 126:The minute toilet in room 452! The hot bathroom , including the floor in room 451

Review 127:The antiquity of the property; its location; the large patio and Alberto, the barman

Review 128:Can be rather difficult finding your room at first due to the layout of the hotel and age of building. Once acquainted it is fun.

Review 129:Location was fabulous and hotel was very atmospheric. Lovely clean room and comfy bed.

Review 130:Loved the under ground tunnel and the split location with different patios. Very quirky and interesting. I could imagine for a longer stay an entrance in a side alley would be less appealing.

Review 131:An amazing little place! Fascinating series of old buildings connected by lovely courtyards and surprising corners. If you like character you'll love this place. We took the slightly bigger rooms with spa bath (93 and 95) which were very quiet. To address previous criticisms, the pool towel 'bond' has been done away with, in summer the breakfast is in a lovely courtyard (we didn't take it at 15 euro, you can go across the road for several options) WIFI only works in the courtyards, where there are nice spots to sit. It is clean and doesn't smell, but it's OLD people, if you want a sterile box, you have many choices in Seville. This place is fun and good value for money.

Review 132:The hotel is definitely interesting with regard to its style and architecture if you are into winding labyrinths, lots of stairs and underground tunnels and if you do not mind dark and damp (and depressing) rooms! I think though that the type of room depends a lot where it is located because I first got a room with no real window and then changed to a much nicer one where you could actually get some sunshine or light during the day. To my mind, I think the hotel is a bit overpriced and is in need of some renovations.

Review 133:The location is great and the swimming-pool on the roof terrace is nice especially in summer of course when it gets really hot in Seville! The spa which offers good massages is also great!

Review 134:The front desk staff was cold and did not make us feel welcome. We specifically mentioned it was our honeymoon yet the put us in a room with two twin beds. Then they moved us to a small room with a window that opened onto the restaurant patio with all the noise and clatter at breakfast. They moved us a third time to a room that was fine but they didn't apologize once to us for the mix up. One of the receptionists even asked us to remind her to change our room because she forgets things. The front desk also tried to charge us double for our laundry and sent it out for dry cleaning when we asked that it only be washed and folded, thus resulting in a hefty and unexpected expense. They of course took no responsibility for it. My advice is that travelers stay elsewhere and only visit the restaurant at las Casas de la Juderia. The beautiful atmosphere - for us - was marred by the poor and rude service at the front desk.

Review 135:The porters Jose & Pedro were exceptionally helpful & friendly. In fact, they were the only ones who greeted us with warmth or seemed concerned if we were enjoying our stay. The hotel is very beautiful and fun to explore.

Review 136:A work problem arose. I had to resolve it on my laptop in reception which was small and often crowded but was the only place that wi-fi worked. In these conditions, and having to go out to use my phone (privacy) meant I spent an entire day doing what would normally have taken an hour.

Review 137:The hotel is unique. The room was very comfortable and bore no resemblance to the typical modern hotel room. Position was perfect.

Review 138:Weak wifi signal in my room. Bathroom drain was prone to flooding after a shower. Minor nuisances for such a great place to stay.

Review 139:Amazing fell of staying in an old villa complex. Very comfrotable room, nice bed, great jacuzzi bath. Staff is friendly and helpful. Cannot beat the location at the heart of Sevilla old town, lots to do and see all around you. A very pleasant hotel.

The Fine Print
