Reviews for The Mansefield Hotel

Review 1:Nothing to report

Review 2:Great whisky selection at the bar. We arrived late and they kindly opened up for us to have a nightcap. Nice, quiet overnight stay in a very decent room.

Review 3:A minor point but in the winter season we had to go outside to go to the bar for our evening meal. We are guessing that in the summer season a part of the hotel will be open so that we could cut through.

Review 4:The staff are so friendly. We were given a free upgrade to a four poster bed room.

Review 5:Bathroom fittings glamorous and sophisticated to look at but not practical to use! Bedroom overlooked by adjacent neighbouring property, needs privacy blind.

Review 6:Size and comfort of bedroom. Dining experience.

Review 7:Updated facilities, well stocked bar & delicious food. Easy access to amazing golf, touring northwest Scotland and whisky tasting in the Speyside region.

Review 8:We could not eat in restaurant as we did not have a reservation and we're never told at check in that we would need one and had to walk into town to find somewhere to eat

Review 9:Friendly staff and lovely breakfast

Review 10:Nothing

Review 11:We stayed one night in "The Bothy" As our pre booked room was above a wedding function taking place. Lovely self contained flat very cosy and private

Review 12:We stayed on the hottest days of the year so no air con which normally would not be needed in Scotland so room was too hot to sleep. Out with hotel s control the weather

Review 13:Room was a super size ! Sheets smelt lovely ! Fridge that worked ! Breakfast was pipping hot and the plates ! Staff lovely and friendly ! Would definitely stay again ! Had iron and ironing board !

Review 14:No cooked breakfast available by room service! Reason given- bed linen. This despite having room service at dinner? Room needs updating, very tired. Double duvet on king size bed! Room not as clean as would have expected.

Review 15:Fridge in the room. Double aspect room.

Review 16:Food was so-so - not notably bad, but mostly no better than ok. Breakfast porridge I could drink if I'd been so inclined. Ate in the Mezzo Eaterie in the evening - Smoked Haddock soup starter was excellent, rest was no better than OK.

Review 17:Beds. Ability to open the window. Smoked Haddock Soup.

Review 18:Exceeded our expectations. Were upgraded to a suite which was much appreciated. Staff could not have been more friendly or helpful and we had everything we could have wished. Quiet in the hotel and no noise from outside - slept very well. Bistro food very good also. We will be back.

Review 19:Like the 'wee upgrade' as it was called, to one of the suites, made my stay all the more pleasurable. Put a kitchen in that suite and I would be happy staying there permanent.

Review 20:We were unable to get anything to eat when we asked at 1.50 pm, however the hotel is in the town so not the end of the world. Bed was a little firm for us. Otherwise a real gem.

Review 21:A beautiful hotel with wonderful friendly staff.

Review 22:Twelve weeks after a knee replacement I found the climb up a steep flight of stairs from the the lift to my room to be a bit daunting- but I could have asked to move. I had to miss breakfast prior to a long train journey because of the high number of customers who had arrived at 07:00hrs for the individually cooked breakfast as the restaurant opened. A price one has to pay, I suppose, when catching an early train but very disappointing, nonethless

Review 23:Excellent room with modern facilities, services and decor.

Review 24:nothing really. The instructions on the shower we found were "back to front" but everything else was perfect

Review 25:From the reception in the hotel was lovely. We got married here 14 years ago and they gave us the honeymoon suite with four poster - very comfortable. Food was delicious and we had a great meal in the Biistro

Review 26:On arrival was upgraded to one of their suites, ironing facilities, fridge, glass wear, lots of cupboard space, safe, seating area with tv, dicking station & also had a piano!! Breakfast was very tasty & had good choice for both cooked & cereal choices. All round excellent stay, wish we could have stayed longer to use all facilities, perhaps next time!

Review 27:I stay in this area regular for work and thought to try the Mansfield. Never ever ever again. The hotel is possibly the worst I have ever come across a worse place in my life and there's so many beautiful hotels around. Stay away its a complete rip off compared with others in the area. An example - I have been charged extra for having clean towels. The beds are only changed every 4 days.

Review 28:Nothing - It is horrendous. STAY AWAY from the

Review 29:Room was just above bar area so a bit noisy quite late into the night.

Review 30:Room was lovely. It was our wedding night so four poster bed was exceptional. Bathroom was lovely and modern. Breakfast was very nice and service was excellent.

Review 31:Just the bar not open on a Sunday night was offered drinks from the place at the side of the hotel but didn't fancy going back oot side as it was raining.

Review 32:Was greeted by a very well dressed spoken lady there was a wedding on at the time we checked in she asked if we mined the noise of the band which we replied no not at all. She gave us a wee upgrade to the Clarke suite which we were delighted with nice clean and plenty of room we even had a cinema room on the 2nd floor we stayed 2 nites breakfast wiz fine had full works first morning which was quite a large amount plates were very hot but was told by waitress not to touch very chatty girls. Had supper in the restaurant at the side of hotel as they didn't do meals on a Sunday nite but was still very good all in all great place 2 stay and will be going back again very soon.

Review 33:The food and service was great they was all so kind and welcoming

Review 38:We had rowdy neighbours but hotel dealt with the matter very efficiently and we were reimbursed for the disturbance.

Review 39:all of it really, hotel was lovely

Review 40:Very warm welcome from all staff. Room excellent very clean and comfortable. Superb breakfast choice. Excellent service at all times.

Review 41:Maybe it was a wrong choice but the stir fry was swimming in dark soy sauce and very salty

Review 47:The bath was not working

Review 48:Location and staff

Review 49:We liked that the staff had thought about us.There was a wedding on which we were not part of so they put us in the Bothy where it was quiet.

Review 65:The city is quiet and nothing moves. Walked the city around 7pm and no people out.

Review 66:The hotel was nice and room of good standard

Review 67:Room dated. Evening meal fair, breakfast swimming in grease. Heavily overpriced for what you got in return !!

Review 68:Staff friendly

Review 69:Wasn't enough storage space for clothes

Review 70:Friendly staff, excellent food

Review 71:Beds - most uncomfortable No air conditioning

Review 72:Breakfast

Review 73:Nice hotel, close to town centre, easy to park, helpful staff.

Review 74:Did not offer value for money. £120 for a single occupancy room and a breakfast (where the fruit was tinned) is not what I would expect. It was akin to a travel lodge, only double the price. I would not return

Review 75:Clean and in handy location. All furnishings fairly new.

Review 76:Food prices looked a bit dear & didn't get rave reviews, so we ate out.

Review 77:Excellent service from all staff, particularly in reception who did so much to help us.

Review 78:The bath and shower controls were problematic and the wash hand basin did not contain the flow of water from the taps. Pricey bar drinks.

Review 79:This was our first stay at the Mansefield. We liked our room very much.We also enjoyed a very good breakfast and the staff were very helpful and friendly. We will return again in the future. Regards Neil and Irene Williamson.
