Reviews for La Pluie de Roses

Review 1:Bathroom had only a crutain (no door) and the door to the shower had a gap that causes water to splash outside it. But minor inconveniences.

Review 2:Excellent location, beautiful garden, very helpful couple (Philippe and Elizabeth) who owned the house. They served breakfast in a beautiful sunroom, it is almost like dining in the garden.

Review 3:Continental breakfast was beyond expectations for a B&B. Philippe (our gracious host) has an excellent command of English. The facilities were spacious and comfortable, and the garden a delight. Just ten minutes walk from the Monet house. Highly recommended! Phillippe, Thank you ever so much

Review 4:Everything was perfect!

Review 5:Philippe and Elisabeth were excellent hosts. Breakfast in the dining room was fantastic! I loved the cottage feel to our room. The setting was perfect. I would definitely recommend staying here.

Review 6:Without a car, the village center and gardens are a long walk. Pleasant in good weather, but otherwise a bit of a hassle.

Review 7:Extremely charming B&B with very pretty garden and very accommodating hosts. One of the rooms has a separate sitting area with two day beds and sliding doors to a private terrace.

Review 8:The ONLY complaint we had was that the bed was quite low to the floor. It was a little difficult for an older person to get out of. But it was such a comfortable bed, who cares!

Review 9:Elisabeth is the nicest hostess EVER! Couldn't do enough for us. And how we loved her little dogs! They made us miss our own boys a little less...

Review 10:Would have liked to pay by card. And no cash machine in Giverny!

Review 11:Lovely self contained rooms with sun terrace. Private secure parking. Proximity to centre of Giverny. Welcome drink and friendly hosts. Lovely breakfast.

Review 12:Nothing

Review 13:La Pluie des Roses is the most perfect accommodation one could hope for. Visually divine, hosts absolutely charming, gardens wonderful, breakfast a feast. Attention to detail 100%.

Review 14:What a beautiful place to stay in the gorgeous village of Giverny! The hotel matched the pictures and lived up to expectations really well.Lovely garden room and we enjoyed our complimentary glass of wine on arrival. Breakfast in the conservatory was so elegant and we feel in love with the two dogs in their chair!!! Our hosts were friendly and welcoming but also gave us the privacy we wanted.

Review 15:The room had a scent of air freshener

Review 16:Delightful hosts and delicious breakfast served in the Art Deco conservatory overlooking the garden The wifi was excellent and we had a spacious room with large bathroom.

Review 17:nothing! All was too good

Review 18:Absolutely lovely family owned place, wonderful garden full of roses, home made fresh breakfasts, very friendly family own it and give the place touch of their love and individuality. Totally in love! Very convenient location- on the main city road but a bit aside of noisy tourists- allows you to fall into nature and enjoy every minute there

Review 19:Rooms were under house so ceilings were quite low. Only a curtain separates bathroom/toilet from living/bedroom which is made worse by inadequate ventilation.

Review 20:An attractive B&B in a lovely garden setting with on site parking. A spacious well equipped suite. Good breakfast and friendly helpful hosts.

Review 21:the bathroom vented into the main room rather than outside. The location of property was quite a walk to nearest restaurant and attractions.

Review 22:Our hosts were charming. Beautiful house and guest rooms, complete with own terrace with sun loungers. On arrival we were treated with a glass of wine and nibbles which was Perry welcome.

Review 23:Our room was lovely, beyond our expectations. Ours hosts were very gracious and welcoming without being overbearing. We loved the separate solarium/garden room. The location is great. If we return to Giverny we will absolutely stay here again.

Review 24:The curtains in the bedroom were not blackout blinds, so the room was light in the morning.

Review 25:A great location to explore Monet's Garden. It is set in a wonderful park like garden with views over to the valley beyond. The breakfast was a real treat.

Review 26:Friendly and helpful hosts. Lovely apartment comfortable and spacious. Handy for the Monet garden and impressionist museum but not on top of the tourist bustle being 20etres down the road. Fantastic cold buffet breakfast with good choice and variety

Review 27:The moment you arrived you were welcomed by the hosts Philippe and his wife Elisabeth who both couldnt do enough for you and were absolutely charming. We recently stayed 2 nights in one of their very spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated rooms. Their garden was equally beautiful and enchanting. Extremely plentiful and delicious breakfast. Before our arrival, the hosts happily arranged for our tickets to Monet's Garden and House and this prevented us waiting in long queues. The B&B is just a short walk and highly delightful. Great location and walking distance to a few different cafe's or restaurants. Also a short drive to the village of Vernon. Would highly recommend staying in this gem of a b&b.

Review 28:Wifi was a bit slow.

Review 29:Our room, which connects directly to the huge, rose-filled garden, was very spacious and beautifully decorated. We had breakfast each morning in a sunroom which offered views of the rose garden and distant woodlands. Phillipe and Elizabeth are very kind and considerate, offering us chilled Rosé on a warm afternoon. It's an easy walk to Monet's gardens and local restaurants- highly recommended.

Review 30:We loved everything...the hosts, the facility, the setting in park-like grounds, the breakfast, and the location. We walked easily through Giverny to visit everything Monet!

Review 31:The size of the room and bath was huge. Room had separate entrance so it seemed very private. The owners went out of their way to be hospitable and could not have been more welcoming.

Review 32:Elisabeth et Philippe, in their home and accommodation, truly labour with Love. From their warm welcome to our fond "Good-bye!"s (which I hope is only "Au revoir!"), they seamlessly did absolutely everything to make us feel perfectly welcomed, comfortably and luxuriously at home, sumptuously nourished, and safely ensconced in their home, gardens, and, indeed, all of Giverny. I look forward to returning to La Pluie de Roses ... hopefully soon and often! Merci beaucoup, Elisabeth et Philippe, pour tout!

Review 33:We did not feel welcome by our host. The room was spacious and quiet but there is no bathroom door, only a curtain separating it from the sleeping area.

Review 34:The location was within walking distance of Monet's home.

Review 40:A beautiful old house, with charming details everywhere you look. A fabulous garden, and great people who give you the best of attention from the moment you arrive. Only a 15 stroll from Monet's garden and you can get your tickets from Thierry and Elisabeth beforehand, to save you queueing!

Review 41:Delicious breakfast in a wonderful setting, restful sleep and delightful host and hostess. Loved the special marmalade and the appropriate rose wine on arrival

Review 42:Ventilation in the bathroom wasn't good and room smelt a little musty.

Review 43:The hosts were very charming and helpful. Breakfast excellent in a beautiful conservatory. Our room had a living room area patio with table and sun loungers, it was surrounded by trees. It was quiet. Easy walk along the road to restaurants and Monet's Garden. We also tried canoeing which was 30 minutes away and great fun. We would stay again.

Review 44:Towels could have been fluffier! They'd definitely seen better days.
