Review 9:what a fantastic place. don't be fooled when you arrive at a weird little car park. Look beyond and you will find a really lovely B&B, run by Elizabeth and David who cannot do enough for you. Great rooms (only 2) right in the middle of Montrieul (which is a lovely town), great home made breakfast. Can't praise it enough. We loved it.

Review 10:What a place! The owners were first class and were most keen to ensure that we enjoyed our stay and got the most out of our visit to Montreuil. The room we were given was fantastic, great decoration and good shower. The breakfast was superb with home made products. The owners were fabulous. Off road secure parking was available. You walk through some metal gates into a haven of tranquility with excellent restaurants nearby.

Review 11:Warm welcome, great attention to detail (umbrellas and adaptors for the unprepared) and an excellent breakfast including home-made jams, yogurt and brioches. Room very comfortable and interestingly furnished without being overpowering. Highly recommended.

Review 12:The reception from the host, standard of cleanliness, delightful attention to detail not only in the furnishings and colour schemes but also in the breakfast items offered.

Review 13:all wonderful!

Review 14:Warm welcome, excellent location and beautiful, quirky design throughout. Breakfast was delicious: home-made jam, bread and yoghurt and bed very comfortable.

Review 15:Elizabeth and David are perfect hosts. Our room was spacious and comfortable, quiet and private. Breakfasts were wonderful, especially sitting out on the terrace. Room in the garden to sit and read was also much appreciated. Montreuil is a charming spot and an ideal base for exploring the local area.

Review 16:Doesn't look very welcoming from the street, looks a bit scruffy outside but lovely modern rooms

Review 17:Off street parking, quiet, nice town, friendly hosts

Review 18:Lovely people. Elizabeth and David made us very welcome. The accommodation is very smart, clean and comfortable. The breakfast is superb. Excellent location too - just behind the ramparts.

Review 19:The amazing hosts were so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful about the local area and made many very helpful recommendations for days out, restaurants and local wine & cheese too!

Review 20:A haven of peace and tranquillity. Beautiful, well thought out décor with bathrooms especially attractive. David and Elizabeth are caring, helpful hosts and David makes French breakfasts special Lots of interesting places in the town to eat, shop and sightsee. Can't recommend it highly enough. We'll be back.

Review 21:Nothing, it was a perfect stopover for us.

Review 22:The location in relation to Calais but also it is perfectly situated in the centre of the town. It has car parking. The room was fantastic, comfortable and clean. The breakfast was delicious, plentiful and a lot of care taken in providing local/organic produce. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful.

Review 23:A warm and welcoming host, a beautifully decorated and clean room, a most comfortable bed - and a deliciously filling/attractively presented breakfast.....what more could we ask for? Centrally situated in the heart of Montreuil town, L'Air du Temps is highly recommended.

Review 24:An absolute gem of a find. We loved everything about this place - the owners and their young family couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished, and so quiet and comfortable. The bathroom was amazing with a vast walk-in shower. Every little detail and more had been thought of. Quite overwhelmed by it all and wished we could have stayed longer but was the perfect round-off to our holiday. Breakfast was the best of our holiday - served in the main house it included home-made jams and marmalades with home-made brioche and croissants. There was also yoghurt, fruit salad, various breads, dried fruits, fruit juice .... we could have sat there all day eating! There is private parking and the property is situated very close to the main square. There is a secluded little garden with table and chairs for guests to use, and also a tray of tea/coffee etc just inside the main house where you will also find information on the area. Make sure you visit Caseus cheese shop too! A great place for a long weekend get away - we will definitely go back.

Review 25:The room was beautiful. Stylish and gorgeous decor In a quiet area of Montreuil, just by centre and near to shops and restaurants and Wine Society for those interested. Very comfortable bed. Large shower room. Beautiful, stylish and gorgeous decor. Hosts David and Elisabeth are just delightful and so keen to help. Amazing breakfast - home cooked and organic. I just did not want to leave. But car park looks derelict on arrival but that is not what awaits inside.

Review 26:At first we were a bit nervous, as it was difficult to find and next to two old rusty doors ( presumably the garage next door). Do not let that put you off, this place is a marvel and the hosts delightful

Review 27:The charming hosts, the funky decorations, the cleanliness, comfortable bed, the oasis of calm as you enter through the garden gate and especially the breakfast. Home made croissants and pains au chocolat which floated off the plate they were so light. Everything was locally sourced and organic. The perfect place to stay for two ageing hippy environmentalists!

Review 28:There were no things to dislike. Be aware that payment by cards is not accepted.

Review 29:Elizabeth and David have created a very special place to stay and they are very helpful and hospitable. A spacious bedroom with large bed. Modern shower room with excellent shower. Art works everywhere gave a lovely feel. The freshly squeezed orange juice and home made produce at breakfast were delicious.

Review 30:Nothing!

Review 31:Really comfortable room in a quiet street with private parking just off main square of Montreuil. Very friendly and welcoming. Delicious breakfast of freshly pressed orange juice, homemade croissants, jams, yogurt etc. Certainly set us up for the day! Would definitely recommend.

Review 32:Leaving

Review 33:Just the 2 rooms, shower room was the mutts nuts, room full of charm, breakfast in the owners living area, shared table with other guests, home made produce and all organic. Best of all, the owners. Very special stay.

Review 34:The hosts were so welcoming into their beautiful home and full of useful advice on places to visit, produce to buy and local restaurants. The homemade breakfasts are seoond to none. We will be back!

Review 35:Nothing. Cant find fault.

Review 36:The room was spacious with separate spacious shower room. Breakfast exceptional for the non-meat eater. Extraordinary hospitality from David and Elizabeth.

Review 38:Hidden away in a back street , fantastic rooms , great friendly host family and homemade breakfast fare which filled!! Will definitely return one day!

Review 39:Quality breakfast Extremely friendly hosts Wide selection at breakfast including home made produce Would definitely stay there again if business requires

Review 40:Appearance from the road does not do justice to the good accommodation inside. We suggest providing a long mirror in the room.

Review 41:Friendly welcome and explanation of facilities. Convenient location. Space for car parking. Comfortable room with bottled water provided. Excellent breakfast.

Review 42:Beautiful room with a large comfortable bed and excellent bathroom with a separate loo. The breakfast in the family room was the highlight of the stay. Free parking as well.

Review 43:The generous, friendly , helpful owners who advised and helped us with dining in Montreuil on a Monday night, one of the party being vegetarian. We also liked the fresh coffee, which was freely available and the fresh breakfast, with home made jams, yoghurts and breads.

Review 44:This b&b is very well placed in the centre of Montreuil. It is quiet and comfortable, with all the usual facilities. Our hosts were extremely helpful and the breakfast was outstanding. We will stay again

Review 47:There was nothing we disliked about the place.

Review 48:Had the best weekend ever! 6-8th Feb. The owners were so lovely and friendly, full of good knowledge and a pleasure to talk to. The rooms were outstanding, spacious and extremely comfortable, the little extras they put in the room, ie water and macaroons were such a lovely thought. The breakfast was amazing, better than anywhere else I have stayed in France a real homemade spread. We can't wait to go back. Thank you David and Elizabeth. You have a beautiful home. Can't praise this place enough.

Review 49:Very kind and helpful family. Well located for the town yet very quiet and relaxing. Spacious and comfortable bedroom and handy sitting area with tea and coffee making.

Review 50:Better than all the rest ! Have stayed in many places as we travel backwards and forwards from our home in Carcassonne to the UK and can say this is just wonderful It is beautifully appointed, decor, fabrics, bathroom, everything is perfect The breakfast is excellent, the owners very friendly and the town of Montreuil is certainly worth a visit We return whenever possible

Review 51:nothing

Review 52:design style is striking and intriguing. Breakfasts are superb. So very comfortable. Easy free parking. Very central to the great walled town

Review 53:Very comfortable and convenient property with very hospitable and welcoming hosts. A perfect last-night stop before Calais. Our second time here and we will certainly return.

Review 54:This is really picking and should in no way mark down my review. - It was a bit difficult to see the Art de Temps sign when arriving in a car on a dark night; - It might be useful to have a luggage rack in the room on which to put a suitcase.

Review 55:I liked the arrival - a scruffy urban carpark; the trompe l'oeil of a café in full swing; a dark tunnel leading to: another world, with a pretty little garden, on the other side, the wit of artificial grass, the perfect rooms and bathrooms and welcoming people and a warm house. A very well executed gem. Flexible times and a delicious breakfast.

Review 56:absolutely nothing

Review 57:warm friendly owner Beautiful fittings, decorations and furniture, though quirky Very convenient for the town, but hard to find Superb breakfast

Review 58:Leaving there

Review 59:The owners were very personable and welcoming. They could not do enough for their guests. The rooms and bathrooms were beautifully decorated and comfortable. The breakfast was as good as a 5 star continental breakfast. The location was just off the main square of this lovely historic town.

Review 60:Nothing at all.

Review 61:Beautiful individually styled room, lovely personal touches. Owners extremely friendly and helpful. Fantastic breakfast with home made produce. Great location near to town square, shops, bars and restaurants. can't think of anything I didn't love about L'Art du Temps

Review 62:Just returned from a short two day one night stay in France, Montreuil sur mer, Pas-de-Calais, Bed and breakfast :- L'Art du Temps. An exceptional place to stay, owned by a wonderful young family. It is rare to find accommodation where the hosts have put so much thought into the comfort of their guests. Warm friendly and welcoming, wonderful rooms, fantastic bathroom, the room already warmed for our arrival. There are little touches everywhere, iPod dock, wonderful biscuits, mineral water, even an umbrella and euro plug converter if you needed, a collection of DVD’s to watch, books etc. Quiet at night, very close to the town centre and the ramparts a few minutes’ walk. The breakfast is better than anything you can imagine, a vast range of organic natural foods, freshly squeezed juice, homemade yoghurts and jams, selection of fantastic breads, croissants, cereals, the list goes on and on. We will definitely return, L'Art du Temps is something special and I can’t praise the B&B and its host enough. Thank you very much for a wonderful stay.

Review 63:There is nothing to dislike

Review 64:The central location, the spacious room, the warmth (it was winter), the friendliness of the hosts, the excellent breakfast

Review 65:Beautiful rooms. Lovely breakfast. Such nice people who are so welcoming. We will definitely use it as first choice for a stay I'm Montreuil in future.

Review 66:One tiny thing: to be able to make a wake-up cup of tea in the room

Review 67:Just about everything. It is beautifully decorated, very comfortable, quiet, but central, a sumptuous breakfast - and the host(s) could not do enough to make our short stay enjoyable.

Review 68:Driving up and car park hides the beauty of what's inside

Review 69:Great b & b this Excellent hosts Lovely room and furnishings Fine breakfast Restaurants in town to suit all tastes and budgets

Review 70:Our friendly hosts welcomed us into an oasis of comfort and calm, with a wonderful breakfast as a bonus! A spacious bedroom, beautifully appointed shower room and separate toilet were 'home' for sadly too short a time. The lounge where tea and coffee can be made, the welcoming homemade (?) biscuits in our room, the water chilling outside and a, thankfully, unneeded umbrella testify to a thoughtfulness and thoroughness that characterise L'Art du Temps.

Review 71:Truly lovely room, opening onto a little garden. A very warm welcome and useful tips for visiting the area from our hosts. Wonderful breakfast. What more could you ask for. We will definitely go back!

Review 72:The presentation and decor of the room was modern and comfortable. The opposite of a dull chain hotel. Owners were helpful and friendly and we will certainly return

Review 73:Wonderful hosts David & Elizabeth! Room was beautifully decorated, spotlessly clean & they had put a lot of thought into the furnishings etc. Tea & coffee available in lounge at all times along with DVDs & a very useful information booklet. Breakfast was superb with practically everything homemade, David even gave us a jar of his jam he had made on the day we left! Lovely to chat with them & learn about their life in the beautiful Montreuil!

Review 74:Once inside the premises it is a revelation ,everything about it has class &style, from outside it looks a little shabby, but think 'shabby chic' We have stayed in just about every hotel in town.....this is the winner. Limited number of rooms so I do not want to over praise it ,in case we can't get in next time, and there will be a next time!

Review 75:be good if you could opt for dinner!

Review 76:Very stylish and tasteful decor and the fittings in the bedroom are very good quality. The location, next to the main square and beside a path to the ramparts, is another plus. And the breakfast.....we will be back just for that

Review 77:Don't be put off by the outside. Lovely room, beautifully decorated, huge shower, very clean. Help yourself to coffee in small lounge area at bottom of owner's stairs. Very hospitable owners with an amazing breakfast. Very helpful with directions and local amenities.

Review 78:Nothing to dislike!!

Review 79:The hospitality of David and Elizabeth shone through from the quality and standard of the accommodation to the attention to detail in the preparation of an exquisite array of home made organic products on the breakfast table. A perfectly located superb B & B.

Review 80:We were made welcome by the hosts who own an amazing property with good off-road parking. Our room was beautifully presented with a superb shower room and separate WC. We had complimentary cookies and mineral water in the room with unlimited tea and coffee facilities readily available in the main house. Breakfast was served in the family kitchen and was absolutely amazing with home made breads and preserves beautifully presented. This is a perfect place to stay over for a few nights as the town has much to offer with a few good bars and restaurants and some pleasant walks around the area. Highly Recommended

Review 81:Really interesting and original decor, very friendly hosts and excellent breakfast. Ideally situated only metres from the town square and town ramparts with quiet and secluded courtyard patio for quests and onsite parking.

Review 82:Nothing.

Review 83:The location is great if you are looking for somewhere within an hour or so of the main ferry ports, and the accommodation and home-made (even croissants and yoghurt) breakfast were impeccable. We were also made to feel very welcome and at ease, and would definitely return.

Review 84:That we didn't stay longer!

Review 85:We couldn't fault this incredible b&b. The standard of the room was incredible and David and Elisabeth were absolutely charming and welcoming - David even went out and bought jump leads for our car! Delicious breakfast, yummy wine and lots of laughs! Thank you xx

Review 86:Only that we didn't stay for longer

Review 87:The beautifully decorated and spacious rooms. The friendly and helpful owners. The general quirkiness and individuality of the house. The location - a step away from both the main square and the town ramparts. The breakfast!

Review 88:WiFi worked when we arrived but couldn't reconnect the next morning

Review 89:Very friendly helpful owners, very stylish accommodation and lovely breakfast. Perfect place for a last stop before Calais, and the town itself is worth wandering around.

Review 90:Everything was superb here. Hosts Elizabeth and David. Were so charming and helpful. The rooms adorable and the breakfast a real treat. Cannot recommend this B&B highly enough

Review 91:Lovely, beautifully furnished room. Super bathroom. Fabulous home-made breakfast. Lovely proprietors. And lots of lovely walks in and around Montreuil.

The little garden was an oasis of calm , with seating area to enjoy a cup of coffee. Breakfast with homemade brioche and yogurt , fruit , excellent coffee . Will definitely return .

Review 94:The nicest stay from booking.com so far. Elisabeth and David aremarvellous hosts, the home made yoghurt was a delight, and the KlimtRoom was beautifully designed. Tasteful furnishing everywhere; thebreakfast in the kitchen/dining room of the hosts with all thetasteful and individual interior was a lovely start of the day. As weare likely to stop on our way back to the uk in the area, this is theplace where we will stay most definitely. Ten out of ten!

Review 95:Stylishly decorated apartment in secluded beautiful garden, quiet but just a few steps away from the main town square. Elizabeth and David are very friendly and nice couple. They provided us with a lot of information about the area, and served delicious organic breakfast from local produce.

Review 96:The rooms are beautifully decorated, spacious and very comfortable. Delicious breakfast. Very friendly host. We loved the location in the historic center of Montreuil near to the ramparts.

Review 97:This stay was lovley, location is excellent and the owners were so friendly and made us feel very welcome. We will return for sure!! Thank you.

Review 98:L'Art du Temps sets new standards for us: luxurious decor in fine taste; a wonderfully comfortable bed; a superb, mainly home made breakfast; copious information on the town, walks etc; and a warm welcome from an engaging couple. All this in addition to a central and quiet location. Just a pity we could only stay one night. Top marks for a faultless and sublime experience.

Review 99:Zero

Review 100:It is brilliant place to stay. The owners are both charming and attentive. The room we stayed in was beautifully furnished, it was large and very comfortable. Breakfast was great ,(especially the yoghurt), there was a wide range of delicious things to eat. We would certainly recommend this 'hidden gem' to anyone!
