Reviews for Tal Y Don Hotel

Review 1:Staff were friendly and helpful however the owner was very not very welcoming and hardly spoke a word to us during the whole of our stay. Hot tap in bedroom needs attention as the flow was more like a drip

Review 2:Very good location. 2 minute walk to beach and shops.breakfast was excellent

Review 3:I stayed in room 6 My daughter and I were very comfortable, the lay out and space for the room was perfect. Breakfast was a good portion and the overall food from down stairs was a good standard. I would rate my stay 8/10

Review 4:It was a warm day and night, but only one small window which could be opened. The fans were a bit noisy.

Review 5:Very helpful, friendly staff. The breakfast was amazing, especially the mushrooms!

Review 6:No parking; no room for a meal as there was a darts match that night; our room (room 1) was very noisy from the bar, and we couldn't get to sleep until after midnight. We couldn't open the window for fresh air, as it was just above the smokers area.

Review 7:Nothing; we booked for two nights, but went home after the first night

Review 8:Booked this B&B based on previous reviews but was extremely disappointed. Friendly welcome on arrival but had to pay for the room straight away. On being shown to our room there was a strong smell of disinfectant on the landing area as a dog had urinated in one of the rooms 2 nights in a row! Stair carpet dirty and worn. Cannot relate to any of the reviews on here regarding the rooms as our room was average with no window to open. A fan was supplied but this was noisy. Would not recommend this B&B

Review 9:The staff were friendly.

Review 10:The staff and owners were friendly and helpful and our (myself & 9yr old) stay was really comfortable. The food was lovely and room nice and cosy. Definitely perfect as a base for surfing as right on the beach, we will be back!.

Review 11:A little too much noise carries through the type of windows in place. Perhaps have ones that let a little less noise through from seagulls. Increase range of beers.

Review 12:Excellent location. Excellent breakfast. Staff were all very friendly.

Review 13:It`s a shame that you can`t park your car outside. But there is a car park a short walk away £3.00 for 24hrs.

Review 14:The bedroom was spotlessly clean. Towels were pure white and extremely soft . Our room was very quiet even though the hotel was busy. Lots of free teas, coffee and milk in the room

Review 15:It was a little noisy from the front room on th sat night with people returning outside from nights out. Breakfast could do with beans.

Review 16:Clean room good location, hotel and bar very pet friendly.

Review 17:To much furniture, out dated decor. The door to bathroom stiff to open. A smaller wardrobe and smaller side tables would benefit the size of the room.

Review 18:The Hotel is in a good position for all amenities and 2 minutes walk from the station and is also close to the beach. First class breakfast. The Hotel is now under new management we wish them well and we would happily go back next year.

Review 19:Water pressure awful so shower was almost useless Strange setup for breakfast where we sat around for over 10 mins waiting for staff but good once it came, would make more sense if it was served in the pub.

Review 20:Very very comfortable bed, huge room, 2 mins walk from the beach and station

Review 21:With the breakfast it didn't come with beans as I don't like tomatoes which was on the menu.

Review 22:That is was near to the seafront and it was in the central of town.

Review 23:Maybe a bit more variety needed

Review 24:The people were friendly. The food was good. The rooms and staff were super. The meals at the Tal Y Don Hotal were super .

Review 25:The bed was really uncomfortable, very lumpy. Fortunately as the weather was hot we slept on top of the duvet which did help. Mentioned this to Jenny and she was pleased that we had because she didn't know - new owner.

Review 26:The location couldn't have been better.

Review 27:Unusual to pay on check-in. No private parking. No window to open in room, although did have a fan. Staff did not seem to be organised at breakfast time (which was only a 45 min slot anyway). We were first in and 'cleaner' arrived and took our order. Other guests had to go downstairs to find someone to take their order.

Review 28:Good weather. Found good restaurant.

Review 29:Mattress was a tad hard, but this is something that most hotels are guilty of. I would suggest memory foam toppers, that's for all hotels everywhere.

Review 30:Clean rooms, friendly staff, great food, the breakfast is quite possibly the best I've ever had! The hotel is close to all amenities.

Review 31:Central location, on the main street, not the Prom, 3 hand pumps, Cask Marque accredited real ales.Reasonably priced pub grub, excellent breakfasts.Friendly staff.

Review 32:Our only complaint were the rooms were too hot. The central heating was on full. Although we turned it off our friends were in room five which had a heater pipe underneath it which kept their room very hot.

Review 33:Accidentally found some stuff under the bed from previous stay I suppose, a bit of dusts as well. Check in was a bit a mess as the bar and reception is in one place, a lot of people were drinking around, smell of beer everywhere made us a bad impression of hotel straight away we went in, but after seeing our room we were pleased to stay here for 2 nights. And would stay here again.

Review 34:Room was lovely, great shower, food was amazing

Review 35:Room was a bit cold (went in December, window didn't seal very well)

Review 36:Staff were extremely friendly with our dog, kept giving her treats and couldn't do enough for her!!

Review 37:The fact that the shops in barmouth did not feel the need to open

Review 38:The accommodation was spacious and extremely clean and comfortable would recommend this accommodation to any one

Review 39:Main meal in bar did not like eating were dogs were allowed to sit on the furniture very limited menu food not up to expected standard even for bar food

Review 40:The bed room was good plenty of setting and room. furniture good quality.

Review 41:Remember it is a pub, a very popular pub, and sound from the bar travels. So avoid if you like quiet nights. Double glazing on the bay windows would help too.

Review 42:Great food. Breakfast to remember. Brilliant service. Room very comfortable. Superb shower. Housekeeping excellent. Great base for exploring the area.

Review 43:greasy breakfast.people smoking by the door, bar staff unfriendly, lager mostly flat,

Review 44:location.breakfast plentiful.spacious room.Jane lovely pleasant person.

Review 45:* room opposite kept us awake (they were drunk) - knocked on our door 12.50am then playing loud music so we had to knock their door to ask them to keep it down *would be good if had a small bed/blow up bed save our 7 year old having to be in our bed with us. Grateful though that they let her share with us as this is second time to hotel - and will deffo visit again

Review 46:* mentioned to staff the nextt morning and they spoke with the ladies in question. Thank you. * friendly *ideal location * lovely breakfast *fab power shower
