Reviews for A La Cour d'Alsace

Review 1:Breakfast is rather expensive.

Review 2:Excellent spa complex in a beautiful and well maintained hotel. Restaurant was very good for evening meals and all staff were most helpful.

Review 3:The localization is great. 5 minutes walking from the center ville. Very good for travelers with car, the parking is private and big. The restaurant wintsturb is good. We didin't try the gastronomic one.

Review 4:Breakfast a little expensive at 20 euros. But that said excellent buffet.

Review 5:Lovely room with view over garden, very friendly and helpful front desk & restaurant. Dinner in restaurant excellent. Great location in Obernai

Review 6:Nothing.

Review 7:Ideal location for us. Excellent Hotel which we will revisit. The weather was very hot and this restricted our sightseeing excursions but the Hotel was an oasis and the peaceful restful grounds and hotel facilities more than compensated for our change of plans.

Review 8:The lighting in the breakfast room was too bright and it felt like walking into a conference room, no character at all. You could have been anywhere. This was a shame as the breakfast was very good. I would hesitate to go back there because of this.

Review 9:The location - tucked away down a charming little lane in the centre of Obernai. The hotel put 3 fans in our room as the weather was hot so it made it more comfortable to sleep at night. Breakfast was delicious with a big choice of breads, meats, cheese, fruit and great coffee.

Review 10:We had a great stay at A La Cour D'Alsace. It is in a perfect location in the beautiful town of Obernai. The room was extremely spacious, comfortable and decorated beautifully. The swimming pool was great - especially as we were there in a heatwave! We would highly recommend staying here.

Review 11:It is a gem of a hotel in the centre of Obernai, an attractive town in Alsace, ideal for visiting Strasbourg(by train). The rooms are comfortable and spacious. Dining in the restaurant is an experience to remember. It is good to have a town centre hotel with a large car park.

Review 12:The main thing we didn't like was the unbearable heat in the room, it was impossible to sleep - never experienced anything like it. There were 3 fans , but not in good working condition & 1 small window. Minor thing room was a bit outdated & carpet especially. Wifi difficult.

Review 13:Loved the indoor pool the best- it had a ton of jets all over & even created waves- my daughter loved it. The staff was amazing too & accommodating.

Review 14:The hotel description does not make clear that only some rooms are airconditioned. It turned out ours was not, and it was 97 degrees. But, themanager switched our room and was lovely about it.

Review 15:Lovely Inn with so much charm, super comfy bed, accommodating staff.

Review 16:There is nothing wrong about the swimming pool itself, but it is not separated at all from the sauna - hammam area, therefore it is quite difficult to relax there because of the noise coming from the pool area, wich is 3-4 meters away. A simple partition (glass door) would do the trick. It would be also nice to have a couple of jars with water/lemon water served there. Hammam: please be aware, that the hotel's policy is to maintain temperature of 45-50 C, consequently there is no steam at all. Sauna in my opinion is fine: around 80C (for 4 - 5 persons) but feels rally hot. The area itself is small, you can try to relax on sitting on a bench next to the sauna/hammam, but then there is a noise issue described above.

Review 17:I liked everything: breakfast, both restaurants, room - really large and comfortable, great shower, WiFi connection, location in the middle of the beautiful old town, restaurants nearby, BUT the swimming pool - sauna-hammam area.

Review 18:Cannot comment on restaurant, swimming pool & spa as did not use them. Had to ask at reception to activate bar service - quite understandable as we were early season (April).

Review 19:Large room. good staff. Excellent, but quiet location in town centre (even with SatNav not easy to find). Private parking. Copious breakfast.

Review 20:Because we were in not in the main building we had to go outside to get to the resturant. No big problem just when it is raining or very cold.

Review 21:Friendly staff, very clean hotel. Nice spa. Resturant staff very attentive.

Review 22:Nothing, Everything was conceived to perfection

Review 23:The wonderful location in the heart of Obernai, the beauty of the little houses, the generous space, the excellent taste in aesthetics of the furniture and decoration. In bried, a real and are jewel !

Review 24:Unfortunately some guests talked loudly in the garden late in the evening which was disturbing and spoiled the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel.

Review 25:Wonderful staff, large room, nice garden, nice swimming pool, free parking space.

Review 26:We would have loved our stay had our room not been so hot. There was no extractor fan in the bathroom and there seemed to be heat coming from somewhere, as our room (no. 109) was so much hotter than the outside temperature or even the corridor outside. When I asked if we could be moved to a cooler room I was told that I would have to pay 80 Euros for a room with air-conditioning. You would expect a 4 star hotel to have air conditioning in the rooms as standard, or at least a comfortable temperature. One of the receptionists was charming and the other was particularly unfriendly.

Review 27:Great swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Clean well fitted out room. Breakfast was fine, but not served in a particularly nice room , more of a conference room. Plenty of parking and well located in the town centre, but quiet.

Review 28:All my expectations were met. It was a shame the fine dining restaurant was not open on the Sunday night. We would have loved to have eaten their.

Review 29:The location and service was excellent. Left Paris for dead. A beautiful village. Beautiful people, staff, food and architecture. The hotel is actually built into and part of of medieval fortifications. Very unique and good value for money. The snail festival in Rosheim was great also.

Review 30:We had to spend quiet some time to install a modem which did not work initialy to get wifi connection Not IT expert and disappointed for a 4 stars hotel Very noisy breakfast room sharing conversation from others No boilling machine in the room for Thé

Review 31:Location Breakfast

Review 32:No elevator to second floor although not a problem for us but could be for some guests.

Review 33:We were upgraded to a lovely room with a nice view, lovely swiming pool, food super and excellent value for money, staff very friendly.

Review 34:The restaurant. The room.

Review 35:Friendly staff, very pretty swimming pool and spa, lovely location, splendid food in the restaurant

Review 36:Great location in the heart of Obernai.

Review 37:friendly staff very nice collection of buildings in the middle of town.

Review 38:Lack of A/C

Review 39:Great hospitality, very good facilities, very good location at the lovely town Obernai

Review 40:Reception a bit cool

Review 41:lovely hotel Great food

Review 42:Everything was as expected.Friendly and effective staff.Superb facilities.

Review 43:Perfect location in a wonderful picturesque Alsacian town. The peace and quiet of the hotel and the behavior of the staff.

Review 44:De kamer,de resto met tuin .

Review 45:Quiet, comfortable, superb pool and very attentive staff. Superb central location.

Review 46:perfect location with parking in the city centre. modern room with ample space. lovely amenities for the kids. staff was helpful and cheerful.

Review 47:Gastronomic restaurant food was underwhelming

Review 48:Excellent wine list

Review 49:Overall very comfortable with a good restaurant.

Review 50:This hotel is exceptional, staff very helpful and polite. Food very good.

Review 51:nice location, central, good restaurant, spa

Review 52:Nice dinner, friendly staff, nice rooms

Review 53:the staff (especially Mr. Urhi the director), the rooms, the pool and spa

Review 54:Separate charge for breakfast.

Review 55:Location, the pool. Restaurant.

Review 56:No airco!

Review 57:The staff was really very helpfull in order to accommodate us. Also at the restaurant they adapted to the wishes of our 7 year-old

Review 58:De tafel/stoelen/parasols in de tuin waren niet verzorgt. In een hotel van dit niveau zou dat toch wel mogen.

Review 59:Service/ kamers/ restaurant .... Alles was OK.

Review 60:The hotel staff are very friendly. They remember your name at every chance. The facilities are good and the hotel is close to the old part of the town. Eating in the restaurant is very good and not expensive. The hotel's recommendations for restaurant also good - ate at two of 4 suggested restaurants. Location in courtyard is quiet. Able to extend stay for an extra night at same rate. A good base for exploring the wine route (if you can find it) and also down to Comar and up to Strassburg.

Review 61:The lack of options at breakfast. We had a cup of poor quality coffee, some fruit and yoghurt only, but were charged for a full breakfast. Next time we would rather skip breakfast, if we did not want a full cooked breakfast

Review 62:Excellent and friendly reception and comfortable rooms. Good restaurant although (minor point) the acid rhubarb compote doesn't accompany well the fois gras.

Review 63:the feeling of being at home, the attention to details in service and in the presentation of food. A superior restaurant in the establishment with a good cellar.

Review 64:As it was 20 years ago, still difficult to find. Better signage on theroad would help lead you down the "alley" that leads to thehotel. Even with gps you might miss the entrance.

Review 65:An upscale hotel, now with a pool and restaurant and about 50 rooms (andplanning more it seems). More creature comforts than most hotels in thearea. Smack in the middle of Obernai so many restaurant choices besidesthe one at the hotel. Free off street parking.

Review 66:This hotel could qualify as a five star Relaix and Chateau. It is an absolute gem. General Manager Yuri has fine tuned the entire experience to perfection. The food is wonderful. The rooms are spacious and very clean, and the staff a Is perfect.

Review 67:The staff was most helpful, the room was spacious and comfortable. The on site restaurants were delicious. We felt very comfortable asking for help with anything and the staff was great in trying to accommodate our every need.

Review 68:It was raining all weekend !-((

Review 69:Comfortable beds. Clean pool and sauna areas. Great food. Waiters knowledgeable about food and local wine. Food and drinks (including mini-bar) were great value for money. Private, secluded and romantic gardens.

Review 70:Good location, easy and safe parking on the courtyard, nice wellness area, clean room, comfortable large bed and large bathroom, very quiet area. Romantic hotel´s restaurant on the garden. We highly recomend this hotel.

Review 71:The breakfast was nice but have had a lot nicer for 12Eurs. Price was too high and was not value for money or even service which was okay,

Review 72:beautiful location and situated, in the town about away from the buzz of the town but in easy reach of pl;aces to eat. Staff were great and very helpfull and spoke many languages.

Review 73:The hotel has no air conditioning and room 107 which we stayed in was far too hot, being over the kitchens didn't help.

Review 74:This is a top class hotel in a superb location right in the centre of town. Parking is on site. The hotel facilities are first class with good food.

Review 75:The fooling picture on the website that gives a wrong impressions of a mansion in a garden. You arrive and see different blocks stuck together. Our room was on the parking lot. The fact that the breakfast in is NOT included in the expensive price of the room and costs so much!! (19€), the fact that the charge of a recommanded glass of wine is 10 €.It all smell like very commercial!!!

Review 76:The restaurant, the vicinity to the lovely village, the restaurant where the food was delicious and the staff very pleasant

Review 77:The moment we arrived the lady at reception was extremely helpful and welcoming. Our room was beautiful and well appointed and the food and staff in the restaurant was perfect.

Review 78:I have got the feeling that it's not really an hotel and especially theresaturant where you can stay with a kid... But maybe I was just tiredfrom the trip. Must recheck again ...

Review 79:I liked very much the position of the hotel, the pool and the highquality restaurant

Review 80:We found the restaurant service to be awful at the end of our meal. The waiter was more engaged in folding napkins then serving our table. Very odd.

Review 81:Off the main street yet in the heart of the old city. Easy parking. Beautiful Sauna, Steam room and Pool

Review 82:No towels at the spa. We didn't know that you are supposed to bringtowels from the room, never heard of a spa without towels. I asked anattendant about a towel, and she said they are in my room. "In theroom?", I asked, dripping wet. "Oui, Madame, in the armoire". I waited aminute, but the offer to get me a towel didn't come. There must be someway to provide towels to the guests in this fabulous spa

Review 83:The location ! in the heart of Obernai, very nicely appointed hotel.Pretty decor, lots of charm. Very good restaurant, friendly andknowledgeable staff, and English speaking! The food was excellent andthe wine suggested was excellent. We enjoyed the dinner very much. Thespa is magnificent, new and beautiful, the pool is great, the Hamman andthe sauna are fantastic

Review 84:When we asked at the front desk for a reservation at a nearby restaurantwe were told "that is not our property, that is not our concern." Therestaurant at a La Cour D'Alsace was fully booked so it would have beennice of they made us a reservation. Never have we had this happen -where a person in Reception refused to make a dinner reservation. To sayit was inhospitable is an understatement.

Review 85:Spacious room, cleanliness Great location

Review 86:The lack of aircon in our room which received the afternoon sun in peak summer was disapointing, but a large fan was provided.

Review 87:Lovely, comfortable classic hotel with excellent reastaurants. spacious room with good level of refined comfort. Modern pool and spa was excellent. Dining on the terrace in the summer was excellent. Fabulous Alsace wine menu and experienced sommelier. Situated right in the heart of the old town, Obernai is a compact medieval town, so the hotels own car park was very useful. Excellent breakfast quality and choice in the restaurant.

Review 88:The staff was very helpful, and responded quickly and pleasantly to requests we made. The location is right by the center of Obernai, but in a quiet corner. It provided the best of both worlds for location. Parking was very convenient.

Review 89:Although not specified when booking, small dissapointment was no bathtub in the room, only the shower, with this relatively expensive roomthat I booked.

Review 90:Good location, nicely renovated elegant room, frientdly staff. Has veryclean swimming pool with spa.

Review 91:Central location in Obernai with secure parking. Choice of restaurants at the hotel. Food at the Jardin des Remparts was excellent and well priced. Very clean and comfortable room.

Review 92:Every element was of the best: reception, beautiful comfortable room & bathroom, restaurant, lounge with internet access. Obernai is a jewel and La Cour d'Alsace is in a quiet cul-de-sac a mere 200 m from the principal square. We cannot recommend the hotel too highly.

Review 93:Staff efficient and friendly. Room quiet, spacious and comfortable, excellent food, parking nearby. Lavish breakfast

Review 94:Espresso coffee after dinner and in the morning

Review 95:Almost everything. Knew it from 20 years ago. Just as good today

Review 96:The location and it was very cosy.

Review 97:Great rooms and exceptional staff. I wish the staff would be so kind in every hotel.

Review 98:Excellent degustation dinner with matching wines. All staff very helpful and friendly. Obernai is a lovely village.

Review 99:only being able to get internet in the bar

Review 100:Everything

Review 101:We liked our room overlooking the garden. The swimming pool was luxurious, and the manager was friendly and welcoming.

Review 102:Beautiful location, good service, dining outside.

Review 103:Friendly Staff and beautiful room. A very relaxing, romantic stay!!!

Review 104:Lovely hotel in good location. Very good restaurant

Review 105:Nothing

Review 106:Fantastic staff, owner / manager a real people's person

Review 107:Quality of rooms, friendly service, exelent food, security of parking.

Review 108:The location of La Cour D'Alsace was excellent. IT is right in the centre of Obernai but is set within a walled garden and is very peaceful.

Review 109:the village is nice but, but on the border of artificial

Review 110:the food is good and the rooms are big

Review 111:all was correct for a 4 Star-Hotel
