Reviews for Sunnyside B&B

Review 1:Too short a stay!

Review 2:Friendly, very clean, secure parking, great breakfast & very helpful hosts. This is an ideal place to stay when you visit Loch Lomond.

Review 3:It was a very friendly place, owners were very welcoming, the place was spotless, the owners was apologetic and said the room was small as we had our 10 year old son but I found it absolutely fine and fitted my families needs, very family-friendly,,

Review 4:My room was so small I could barely move. Even though I asked for a single room I still think the space was so limited. I expected a little more spacious room. Especially for tall people.

Review 5:Friendliness of the staff was unbelievable. Very nice people

Review 6:There was some confusion over the room. We had the impression from the Booking.com website that the triple room could be made up into 3 single beds (as well as a double plus single) but it couldn't.

Review 7:The warm and friendly welcome from the owners. Immediately felt at home and relaxed. Great thought has obviously gone into making sure guests have all they need.

Review 8:The family room was a little small for three adults, but that's our own fault for being cheap.

Review 9:The hosts were very friendly, the breakfast was excellent, the bedroom was clean and cute.

Review 10:Very friendly owner, cosy room with small but clean and functional bathroom, great Scottish breakfast, atmosphere like at home, not a hotel or guesthouse. Simply great!

Review 11:Lovely couple, lovely nice clean homely room and even made up a packed lunch as we had to leave early. Sure the breakfast would have been just as good.

Review 12:Ensuite bathroom, neat and clean, but miniscule...hardly any space to move.

Review 13:The hosts Mr. and Mrs. Smith are awesome people...friendly and helpful. Great breakfast was served...tasty and large portions. The full Scottish was really big. Though rooms are small but clean.

Review 14:The bathroom was a little small, but again a remarkably efficient use of space.

Review 15:There were 3 extreme positives of the place, the proprietor who was a delightful ex-military man who ran things according to the book, the room which held 3 comfortably and could do 4 in a remarkably efficient use of space, and the breakfast which was fantastic (haggis for breakfast if you wanted it and I did). The overall experience was great.

Review 16:Frank and Lorraine are lovely hosts, and serve a great breakfast. They were very helpful in assisting us sort out a financial issue with our booking, Frank spent considerable phone time in gathering information which helped us understand the payment system. I sincerely regret that some comments I made about the processs indicated that I was unhappy about Sunnyside's handling of our payment. Nothing could be further from the truth, without Frank's help I would have spent much more of my holiday time trying to sort out the problem.

Review 17:The owners were very helpful and gave us a lift to Helensburgh when we missed our bus. Comfortable rooms excellent breakfast and very friendly. Very good value.

Review 18:Bed was not the most comfortable and the sheets were well used

Review 19:Very helpful host The breakfast was lovely hot on hot plates all freshly cooked very nice and offered more of everything

Review 20:Nothing

Review 21:On arrival we were greeted with a happy smiling welcome. Nothing was too much trouble and the breakfast was delicious. This is a very homely B&B. It has character and you are made to feel welcome at all times. We almost felt like an extension of the family. We will definately use it again.

Review 22:The mattresses desperately need updating, we could feel coils through ours which was disappointing as otherwise a good stay.

Review 23:Excellent hosts, great breakfast & clean accommodation

Review 24:Arrival time is 7pm latest. Whilst I realise the family nature of the guest house, it is out of the city in a normal residential area. Most GH's check in till

Review 25:Price.

Review 26:Frank and Lorraine were excellent hosts, and very knowledgeable about the area. Nothing was too much trouble and all the facilities were shown and explained upon arrival. I good location for Cyclists doing Land`s End to John O Groats like myself or just cycling in the area. 6 out of 5 stars from me.

Review 27:very friendly people. Small but cosy family room with loads of extras in it for younger kids. Fab breakfast and loads of tea/coffee etc in the room.

Review 28:The new housing estate opposite spoilt what would have been a tranquil setting otherwise. Electric sockets were difficult to get to and polite requests in room that there would be surcharges made for any soiled bedding or towels

Review 29:The fact that there was everything you needed to make your stay as comfortable as possible. The rooms were very tastefully decorated and the breakfast was one of the best we have ever had. The garden area was pretty and inviting.

Review 85:Wi-Fi connection in house great until tried to move into actual room (#5). Location only fair as the walk along the very busy Main Street to and from dinner, castle park, etc. far from pleasant and also much traffic noise all night in the front bedroom.

Review 86:Lorraine was lovely! Very welcoming, helpful with transport to airport and accommodating to our early AM departure.

Review 87:Nothing in particular springs to mind.

Review 88:We liked the ease of finding the location. The rooms were well presented and clean and the beds were comfortable. The proprietors were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent and we had all we required. Car parking was convenient with room for a number of cars.

Review 89:Very friendly couple who run this B&B made me feel very welcome and at home. They were on hand to assist with any queries and ensured I was happy at all times during my short stay. I liked the idea of guests dining together for breakfast in the morning depending on what time you wanted it. Breakfast was delicious and included Linda McCartney veggie sausage! My room was lovely and quaint and although fairly small I appreciate that 1) it was only for me! and 2) the age of the house. You are giving your own key so can come and go as you please with no rules around being back by a certain time. Check out time was at 1000 hours but I was allowed to leave my luggage at the location during the day whilst I went out prior to returning to the airport. There is a train station about 10 mins walk away, I did see bus stops nearby (however did not use) and a local taxi company who are reasonably priced (who I did use). Thank you for my enjoyable and pleasant stay, would definitely use again if I was staying that way. : )

Review 90:Nothing springs to mind.

Review 91:Very friendly owners who made us feel very welcome. The breakfast was very good and the choices were varied, catering for all needs. We were also recommended a good restaurant for our evening meal. We would use this accommodation again.

Review 92:I found the shower to be a bit feeble at a decent temperature, but otherwise everything was excellent.

Review 93:Terrific welcome from frank and Lorraine made us feel right at home. Breakfast is fab, especially Frank's porridge! Our room was warm and spotless with kettle, tv and WiFi. We got lots of tips on where to go, eat, etc., which we really appreciated. We were 10 mins walk from the train station and about 30 mins walk along the river from loch lomond.

Review 94:As we only stayed 1 night en route to the far North we don't feel we could make a valid judgement but we did enjoy our stay and the friendly welcome we got along with a hearty breakfast. Mine hosts were both very pleasant and very helpful, Would have no qualms about staying there again.
