Reviews for Hôtel Le Blason

Review 1:Polite and ultra-friendly staff, perfect location close to museums and restaurants (our window had a nice view to the Château d'Amboise), small but comfortable room, modern shower. By far, one of the best places we have stayed while traveling around France.

Review 2:Nothing

Review 3:Location! We can walk to chateau in few minutes. Free car parking space was in front of the hotel. Free wifi. The room was new, clean and well-decorated.

Review 4:Hotel is a 13th century building with tons of charm plus steep winding stairs. Location is fantastic, you can walk to Chateau Amboise and Clos Luce. L'Alliance restaurant is next door, best meal we had in the two weeks we were in France

Review 5:Make sure you ask for a large room. Rooms too small to open two suitcases. Small stair case needs to be negotiated.

Review 6:Quaint character and clean. Great location and parking.

Review 7:Bus no 1 from train station to square Lovely quiet location but close to all the attractions Beautifully decorated room with wood beams Great modern bathroom with huge shower

Review 8:Limited hanging space for clothes and no shelves or drawers for storage.

Review 9:Comfortable, modern rooms, newly furnished. Good location with only a short walk to all points of interest.

Review 10:The wifi sometimes disconnects and you have to wait like 1 hour for it to start working again (and reception is empty in the evening, so there is no one to call)

Review 11:Strict city centre, free town parking lots around (easier to find place in the evening)

Review 12:Watch your head! And if you want air conditioning, you'll need to schlep your bags up two flights of stairs—worth it, though!

Review 13:Great location with ample on-street parking (at least when we were there).

Review 14:Quaint, clean and extremely friendly service. Super location, close to everything. The best shower facilities of any hotel so far in our month in France.

Review 15:It' s better if we knew in advance that parking in door will be charged. Wifi required to log on regularly every 30 minutes or so.

Review 16:Very good location and very clean.

Review 17:A selection of sliced cheeses, some ham, maybe even a hard boiled egg, would make for a nice change after three days. Even wonderful croissants, pains au chocolat and small baguettes can get old. But it's understandable those things aren't available when you have to wear more than one hat as hôtelier.

Review 18:Many restaurants within walking distance

Review 19:Room was very small almost claustrophobic. Wifi almost useless. You can hear your neighbors like there is no separation wall. On tv you can hear the sound but almost no image. Beds too hard and not comfortable.

Review 20:Located 5 min walk from the Amboise castle and a good base to visit castles around. Quick check in check out. Free parking place in front of the hotel. Room Cleaning service very discreet. New (small) bathroom.

Review 21:The hotel is set in an old-style building, with externally visible wooden beams. The room we stayed in was nice with a very well renovated bathroom. It's very close to the city center and the Amboise Castle.

Review 22:The room was very small with no view.

Review 23:Very central location in Amboise. Good value compared to the high hotel prices in the town. Very helpful and polite staff.

Review 24:Bed was Lumpy, Wifi was hard to log onto and once on would bump off, Rooms small with paper thin walls

Review 25:Loved the Location, loved the cleanliness of room, great staff.

Review 26:The hotel was undergoing some renovations, so I'd try to avoid for the next month or two. The shower was very poorly designed - it effectively had no door or curtain - and so using it caused a small flood in the bathroom. Reception was only staffed about 50% of the time.

Review 27:The hotel was well situated, a short walking distance from the chateau and downtown. Lots of free parking right in front of the hotel.

Review 28:The only thing that heater in the room worked strangely

Review 29:Very good location , free public parking in the front of hotel. Confortable room. Friendly staff. Above expectations for the price.

Review 30:we got bad directions from booking.com, so hard to find. we walked from train in rain, so tired and wet. Our room was on a busy street and was a little loud, but not too bad. No wifi in our room we have to go down the hall. Tiny bathroom, like a boat! But very clean

Review 31:very, old and cool place. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean, which is the most importamnt to me. Very nice people at desk, except they sent us to very touristy resturants

Review 32:The shower temperature fluctuated in the room a lot so every few seconds it was scalding hot and then dipped to cold. The WiFi was almost non-existent, you have to almost be sitting at the check in desk to get signal. Other guests had the same problem with the WiFi, and told us where to sit to get signal.

Review 33:Nice location with easy walk to the Chateau, and a decent walk to the train station for athletic people. We did the walk from train with 30 lbs back pack in 20 minutes. Helpful staff with directions to the sights.

Review 34:We were very happy with our stay here - delightful old building, right in the middle of town, walking distance to restaurants, to the river, to the castle. Breakfast was generous and very French and yummy. Would happily stay again

Review 35:We had a room on the top floor and had to duck not hit our heads on the slanted ceiling getting in and out of bed. Also the bathroom needed updating.

Review 36:The character of the building and the pleasant breakfast room.

Review 37:On a noisy street that could make sleep difficult. No elevator with a very narrow staircase that made it difficult to carry luggage to your room.

Review 38:Generally what we expected--no surprises. Beds were comfortable

Review 39:Rooms are small and bathroom cubicles are very cramped. Narrow staircase difficult with heavy luggage.

Review 40:Location is great and surrounding township is lovely. Hotel is good value for money in such a tourist town. Staff were OK. Don't miss visiting Villandry when you visit the region.

Review 41:The bathroom was one of those moulded all in one types which was petty grim! Wifi was hopeless, but that is not unusual in a building of this age and there was a free to use computer in the hallway. Breakfast was good.

Review 42:The location was excellent and the bed was comfortable.

Review 43:Our family was finishing a 20 day loop of Europe and we were looking for an inexpensive spot near Tours to sleep for the night. The reviews of Le Blason were good and the price was perfect. We booked it. To our surprise the town was amazing and Le Blason was easy walking to the river, sites of interest, food, etc. The staff were very helpful with recommendations and wifi. The hotel met our needs, three beds in a room with a clean bathroom. I would stay here again.

Review 44:Very friend staff. Great location & a beautiful hotel in historical building with modern bathroom facility.

Review 50:HOME MADE BREAKFAST

Review 51:It is a fantastic place to stay. Central to all of the township of Amboise. Beautiful old building. Bathroom new, clean.

Review 52:nothing

Review 53:charming hotel, excellent location.

Review 54:No wifi in our room -- don't count on it being in yours. The breakfast is adequate but barely so.

Review 55:The location is great, and the rooms are clean.

Review 56:No 24h reception, 10 minutes waiting to be taken coffee order.

Review 57:breakfast was too expensive with one croissant each

Review 58:the 3rd floor room was small. the slopping ceiling was extremely

Review 59:Breakfast, free parking

Review 60:Front desk was very helpful. Bathroom very modern. Hotel was quiet.

Review 61:Room a little compact.

Review 62:Excellent location; free parking in front of hotel; very comfortable bed; superb en suite facilities.

Review 63:No English speaking TV channels. No aircon.

Review 64:Manager very helpful. Secure parking. Great location for restaurants and major attractions.

Review 65:we liked the location we were able to walk to the river and around the town.

Review 66:Great room

Review 67:Very well placed, almost in the town center yet calm.

Review 68:Very nice, comfortable room with very modern bathroom. Staff very friendly and nothing too much trouble.

Review 69:Poor breakfast. Unsuitable modern pine etc furnishings in bedroom.

Review 70:Position. Half-timbered parts.

Review 71:Rooms a bit small but clean and rather new.

Review 72:Location Staff Value for money

Review 73:Very central again a very small room but it had everything we needed. Paid parking was very good

Review 74:Staff were really helpful, location was good.

Review 75:U need to turn on the hitter by yourself... We forgot... The night was frozen to death with that thin blanket...

Review 76:Location, cleanness

Review 77:Very centrally located, great staff, clean rooms and comfortable bed. No complaints!

Review 78:Hotel very central not far from restaurants and shopping.

Review 79:No coffee making faclities

Review 80:Great location

Review 81:cost, but the location was very near the centre; price was high but it is in the centre of Amboise!

Review 82:very clean, startling .

Review 83:too small wc and shower room no airconditioning

Review 84:in a historic building in deluxe double 1 big bed wifi close to the center

Review 85:Terrible wifi but that wasn't a huge deal since it wasn't the most important thing to us at time of booking.

Review 86:The hotel was in such a great location with undercover parking.

Review 87:You can hear everything going on in the building. The bathroom is cramped and unconforatble. The breakfast was poor and definitely not worth its price.

Review 88:It is situated very close to the castle and the river. The building is pretty.

Review 89:Not a place for you to stay 5 nights. Overpriced for what it offers. The restroom is so small, a real cubicle. Breakfast is expensive for what you get and what you get is good for 2 days and then you get really sick of it... Always the same stuff and no choice. No ham, no cheese. Comparing to the hotel I had just been to in Brittany (same price breakfast), it was really a joke. Not easy to find a parking place for free around.

Review 90:Reception was nice and helpful. No complaints about the treatment received during my stay of 5 nights. The building is from the XVth century, which gives it a great atmosphere.

Review 91:Breakfast was a bit limited. You get a basket of bread and one yogurt (flavor picked for you) per person. While the location was good, walking back involved some very dark streets with skinny sidewalks and fast cars at night. If you get rooms 1 or 2 you might smell the patrons smoking outside your window at night.

Review 92:Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Free parking was nice. The building had character and it was a good value option.

Review 93:No complaints whatsoever. We shall recommend the hotel to our friends and family. Our daughter and her husband are coming in December.

Review 94:The friendly staff and convenient location.

Review 95:The bathroom and shower were so tiny that you had to stand in the bedroom to dry yourself after showering. The bed was uncomfortable but for one night it didn't matter.

Review 96:The hotel's character; it's quiet position and yet not too far from the château and shops.

Review 97:Internet service was terrible. WIFI connection from our room (which was in the back on the second floor) was awful. And even sitting in the lobby it would go out. Extremely annoying. Would not recommend this hotel if you need to have wireless internet connections.

Review 98:Location in Amboise - right near everything.

Review 99:1. Authentic floors and beams in the old building of the fifteenth century, coupled with the power-saving mode on the first floor will deliver an unforgettable chance to everyone to feel taller than 180cm, which split his head in Amboise can not only king. Be careful!2. Everything is spotless in terms of equipping expensive rooms are recording, probably for short periods, often for one night. Except that the proposed package of shower gel (aka shampoo) weighing 12 grams introduced in bewilderment, then turns bathing in the forecast process. What for?

Review 100:Pleasant, inexpensive hotel with friendly and responsive staff. Purelycleaned room with the heater in case of cold weather, a comfortable bedwith crisp white sheets, the silence around and help you fall in lovewith a tiny chivalrous strict Amboise more. After all, there remainindifferent impossible.

Review 101:The wifi did not work well.

Review 102:The hotel is clean and comfortable, located close to city attractions and restaurants. It is not a luxury hotel, but it is a good value.

Review 103:Could do with a refurb.

Review 104:Staff and excellent parking.

Review 105:The quite-difficult-to-negotiate staircases!

Review 106:The quirkiness.

Review 107:Close to all historic sites. Charming manor.

Review 108:a little poor breakfast

Review 109:location

Review 110:Enjoyed the ambience! Easy walk to town. Convenient to use lobby computer!

Review 112:Loved the medieval look of the hotel! Free parkings everywhere!

Review 113:The hotel clerk immediately made arrangements for me to have a room forhandicapped people when he saw that I used a cane.

Review 114:Очень маленький душ, нет фена.

Review 115:Есть wifi. Близко к замку. Бюджетно

Review 116:Only a few minutes walk to the centre of town. Safe parking for bicycles.

Review 117:No AC. Weather very hot so ac would have helped

Review 118:Querky hotel. Very old and thats part of the charm. Location is perfect and price is good

Review 119:It was a little bit cold in the room, possibly also due to the coldweather last weekend.

Review 120:The staff was very helpful.
