Reviews for Hôtel l'Orangeraie

Review 2:Everything!Perfect place to relax.Beautiful palace, nice pool. We had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant!

Review 4:Friendly staff Lovely building Nice food Pleasant room Calm, relaxedatmosphere Nice pool
Review 5:Authentic,unique property situated in lesser known village with exceedingly helpful staff, especially reception and catering even providing late refreshment. A superb hotel . Many thanks
Review 6:We had a wonderful time!! The staff was great and dinner was beautiful. The staff went out of their way to help celebrate my daughters birthday! It really was wonderful.
Review 7:I did not like the rude staff or the obnoxious cleaning staff that slammed doors starting at 8am every morning and continued to slam them all morning long. Very difficult to sleep past 8am there, which is awful when on holiday in the south of France.
Review 8:I liked the view from my window.
Review 9:Loud music until eleven each evening Charge for everything even if you want to bring a towel to the pool Boring breakfast if you are there for a week
Review 10:Very friendly man at reception in the evening
Review 12:Nothing really
Review 13:Great place for people who eant to enjoy the mediterranean atmosphere, cuisine and people. Excellent breakfast, reasonable prices and good kitchen. Since you're in the middle if the peninsula of St Tropez you're very close to the beaches, the best wineries and the pittoresque towns of Ramatuelle, Gassin and Dt Tropez of course.
Review 14:Decor is a bit tired, needs updating and modernizing. Breakfast very expensive with only one price for the entire buffet .
Review 15:Lovely old building, beautiful views and big swimming pool. Extremely helpful conciege who gave us a personal early morning call when we left.
Review 16:When we arrived we found a strange smell in the room. We found out it was urine on the materass from previous customers. The staff was reactive and changed materass. Unfortunately this was not the only surprise as we also found feces in one pillow discovered only the following morning. We complained with the hotel saying this is unacceptable for a 260 EUR/night room and more than 800 EUR bill. The hotel offered in exchange 2 cups of champagne to apologize (or maybe celebrate). Overall the hotel was worse than a 1 star motorway hotel and the apologies with champagne without giving any refund were simply a joke.
Review 17:Sea View
Review 18:Why is wi-fi so hard for hotels to get right in 2014; it's a moan that applies to pretty much everywhere I stay, but here it was slightly worse than the, poor, average.
Review 19:Staff were excellent, friendly, helpful, approachable. Clearly not Parisians! Al fresco breakfast and dinner was a treat, and deserved a little more sparkle from the kitchen - good enough, but instantly forgetable.
Review 20:Be aware that Tuesday nights the restaurant is closed and the entire hotel provides practically no services at all - no bar etc. and the reception closing at 9pm.
Review 21:The building and gardens/pool were excellent and a delight to spend time in.
Review 22:Loved all the staff, so helpful and informative.Especially on reception. X
Review 23:Would like to see hot drink facility in rooms
Review 24:Need to bring your own hair dryer as room had useless one.
Review 25:Very nice staff, clean room although basic.
Review 26:Lovely family room with mezanine floor for the children, fantastic pool, beautiful garden and presentation generally.
Review 27:Nothing
Review 28:The area the hotel is such a beautiful place you could only be in France unique .
Review 29:A bit dificult to find the place (no signs from the round-about), pricey breakfast.
Review 30:Excellent location, great old building, colorful internal design.
Review 31:Restaurant closed
Review 32:Lack of draws, desk and armchairs in bedroom
Review 33:Pool, breakfast
Review 34:Understaffed. Poor breakfast selection.
Review 35:Poor room furniture and bathroom comfort, not worth the high price
Review 36:Great location, swimming pool, historical building
Review 37:Friendly staff and a free upgrade
Review 38:Small room for the price No full length wardrobe
Review 39:Position Food
Review 40:Great location and a very nice hotel, with a good pool.
Review 41:Breakfast was quite expensive
Review 42:Everything, the pool, food staff were fantastic. The grounds of the hotel were beautiful
Review 43:No tea or coffee making facilities
Review 44:Beautiful building and very friendly staff, very pleasant view
Review 45:Very very nice stay at this hotel, only good surprises. I really recommand it for all kind of stays.
Review 46:The wi-fi velocity. The bathroom.
Review 47:Couldn't fault it!
Review 48:Wonderful building and grounds, excellent location with good views around the bay, very attentive service, excellent breakfast choice - a memorable stay.
Review 49:There isn't much around, but that is OK if you just want to relax.
Review 50:I really liked the atmosphere of the building (former monastery), the great views and the nice garden (with pool) in front.
Review 51:Room decor was a little and bright Quite expensive Pigeon droppings each day at front door Toiletries not replaced daily Stairways not regularly swept clean
Review 52:Grounds were lovely Pool was very nice The building was old and interesting
Review 53:The staff were incredibly friendly, the pool was heated and lovely. The food was excellent, the evening meal and breakfast were of a great standard. Our family room was large and nicely decorated. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
Review 54:We didn't stay longer or eat there twice!
Review 55:Christopher gave us a wonderful welcome on our arrival.the food here was superb. The room was charming and romantic. The pool was great. The house had interesting history.
Review 56:A classic old building, former convent, turned into a hotel. Nice sea view over Cavalaire sur Mer and close enough to St Tropez and the beaches. Very friendly staff and the restaurant is worth trying out.
Review 57:We were upgraded to a spacious family room which included a staircase offering futher bedroom facilities but the cleanliness in the shower cubicle was disgusting and very tired - Total renovation of the bathroom was needed . Before unpacking our suit cases ,we needed to clean the drawers/wardrobe shelves which contained unpleasant grit/sand.
Review 58:Excellent swimming pool and sunbed ammenities . Location was good offering pleasant gardens.
Review 59:Is not that close to Saint Tropez as they say in their website. Plus, the road to go there is not the best to navigate. They don't have pc for their guests. They don't exchange money, you have to go to Saint Tropez The few restaurants around the hotel have limited hours.
Review 60:Nice building, helpfull and friendly staff, beautifull gardens, nice room, lovely gardens.
Review 61:The hotel staff were the most unhelpful staff I have ever seen at ahotel and will never stay there again. For the price that they chargethey should at least be more helpful. The hotel is run down and seemsas though no one has taken care of it for years. Please take it offyour list!
Review 62:Perhaps needs a new coat of paint....and some maintainence to spruce it up a little?
Review 63:The location and staff made the holiday speacial. Very good attention to detail.
Review 64:No fan in room on arrival, misleading information about breakfast whichwas greatly overpriced and generally poor value for money.
Review 65:Nice pool, great grounds and attractive building.
Review 66:A little journey from St Tropez and taxis are expensive - c.€50 each way so best to have a car if you want to explore the surroundings.
Review 67:Beautiful hotel set in open space with a nice swimming pool.
Review 68:Lovely courtyard setting for breakfasts. Excellent pool area. Well located in a quiet spot set back from road, out of congestion of St Tropez but easy to get there. Easy car parking.
Review 69:The main problem for us was a lack of attention to detail, a shower that has no curtain or cover and that therefore leaks tons of water onto the floor is not very good in such a high price hotel. It was like swimming in the bathroom and was pretty dangerous. The terrace was beautiful with white metal tables until at night someone chose to put out the most bad taste table cloths and candles ever. What a shame to ruin such a beautiful ambience. The breakfast was ridiculous at 18 Euros per person. The drinks were over priced, we only had 4 glasses of very cheap wine and a few cokes and some water and it came to 79 Euros which is not really acceptable.
Review 70:The Hotel L'Orangeraie is a beautiful hotel and definitely has some old fashioned mystical quality. It was clean and the Staff were helpful and polite.
Review 71:The steps up to reception proved difficult especially with heavy luggage and the hreat. Since there is an elevator in the hotel, the least to be expected is that a ground level access to it.
Review 72:The location, rooms and restaurant were perfect. Staff were very courteous and helpful. Food and beverage service was good if a little slow.
Review 73:The position is just fantastic. A bit difficult to be found but thenworth the effort. It is located on a quiet hill with wonderful view onthe sea. It is an old convent recently converted in a hotel. Large, simple, clean rooms.
Review 74:The friendliness of the hotel staff, the location and surroundings.
Review 75:breakfast could be improved
Review 76:upgraded me friendly staff great vista from my room clean and elegant pool
Review 77:Hotel location a bit far away from urban site.
Review 78:Beautiful setting; hotel being an old covent converted into a hotel. well maintained and preserved.
Review 79:Location was not great, and need a car to get anywhere.
Review 80:Really friendly staff, and great food, albeit quite expensive.
Review 81:Many steps up which you have to carry your baggage.
Review 82:Lovely old traditional building Very friendly and helpful staff Great location nr. St Tropez
Review 83:Nothing.
Review 84:All was super. Thank you!
Review 85:Expensive breakfast
Review 86:The view from the room
Review 87:Wonderful and luxurious place. The hotel was full but it felt like quiet and pieceful.
