Reviews for Hotel Les Vikings

Review 1:We had to leave Le Croisic and return to the real world.

Review 2:The ocean view (facing the sunset) from our 2nd floor room was gorgeous. The room was large as was the bathroom/shower. The toilet was in a separate closet, but that seems to be the norm in Europe.

Review 3:We had a lovely balcony sea view room which was perfect. We could watch the many folk walking along the cliffside which enjoying a coffee made with the jug provided. Breakfast was fresh and satisfying.

Review 4:Dirty, tired hotel with no restaurant, no breakfast on site, water ran across the floor when it rained. Outside in desperate need of a coat of paint. Towels grey, bathroom grim. Best avoided!

Review 5:Location is ideal on the Atlantic coast.

Review 6:In my opinion this facility should advertise as a guest house......it doesn't have a bar, restaurant or any leisure facility on the premises.Breakfast & dinner are served across the road in L'Ocean....great fun in the rain & wind

Review 7:the bed

Review 8:Exterior of hotel is in need of a little TLC in places.

Review 9:The hotel was spotlessly clean, the rooms were very comfortable and the receptionist was extremely friendly and helpful and informative. We felt instantly at home. Location is fabulous right on the sea front and only a short, pleasant walk into the harbour town where there are plenty of restaurants and cafes to enjoy many local seafood delights.

Review 10:Parking could be a bit hit and miss but did not detract from our stay.

Review 11:Spacious, clean and well furnished room with excellent sea views. Friendly and helpful staff. Great food at the Bistro. A great setting for the dining room.

Review 12:The room is good and seems new. Size also relatively good, considering bathroom and terrace. Location is good from a logistic point of view and does offer sea view. Windows are soundproof.

Review 13:Location: it is beside a parking lot and on the street. Noise: while windows protect from outside noise, one can hear all movements within the hotel i.e. other rooms and corridors, including slamming doors. Bathroom: curtains for shower would avoid making a lake.

Review 14:Dinner at the Bistrot L'Ocean (associated with the hotel) was disappointing. Our fish was a mine field of bones, which took away from our enjoyment of it.

Review 15:The location was wonderful, and free public parking nearby was very convenient. We had a great view of the beach, and an easy walk into into town.

Review 16:The only thing was there was no tea or coffee facilities in the room and it would have been leery nice if homemade biscuits were provided

Review 17:The location , the staff, the hotel and the breakfasts And our dog buster enjoyed his stay too

Review 18:Some rooms will have the view blocked by the adjacent (and way more expensive) hotel. Some people would miss the coffee/tea facilities, but the bar in the hotel across the street works late. I would not recommend their overpriced "gourmet" restaurant - better go the port - 2 min by car.

Review 19:Great location in a very calm area of Le Croisic. Superior double room was spacious, bright. We enjoyed a bottle of wine (brought by reception girl from the bar of the hotel across the street) overlooking the ocean in the evening. Breakfast delivered in the room - good!

Review 20:It was more of an anex than sister hotel to the more expensive hotel across the road. There are absolutely no facilities in hotel and the lounge does not seem to exist as in the photos. The hotel is on a pretty bay but central view obscured by other hotel. There is not even coffee making facilities in hotel this is brought over if required . There is no bar!! you have to eat at exclusively expensive restaurant in other hotel or walk considerable distance to town

Review 21:Location

Review 22:On the atlantic coast so weather can be occasionally brisk even in summer.

Review 23:Charming experience reminiscent of the France I remember so fondly: the staff were attentive, pleasant and smiling. Next to a small popular beach and 15 minutes walk to the picturesque port and its many shops and restaurants.

Review 24:There should be a blind on the bathroom window for privacy. The view of the sister hotel from the window is a disappointment. Wi-Fi was poor.

Review 25:Large room with two balconies. Could hear the sea from the room.

Review 26:There is no restaurant or bar; these are available at sister Hotel de L'Ocean opposite - built spectacularly overhanging the shoreline. Dinner excellent but expensive at 150 euros for 2. Service execrable! 4 staff could not handle 6 tables. Be prepared to serve yourself! Didn't try breakfast - 14 Euros each. Lots of alternatives available for 5 Eur at the Port.

Review 27:5-star welcome from highly professional receptionist. Superb room with large balcony (as booked) equipped with comfortable outdoor furniture. Magnificent views over rocky Atlantic coast and sunset, separated from hotel only by the minor coast road. More than 30 restaurants less than 1Km away at the Old Port; details & map from reception. We'll be back!

Review 28:It was a bit annoying that just in front of the hotel there's a restaurant and they got the delivery of the fish at 5 am and it's a bit noisy.

Review 29:The girl at the reception in the afternoon is really really nice and polite. The view from the hotel is beautiful.

Review 30:It was allowed to smoke in the rooms some time before and after that they were never renovated, so the unpleasent odours are still present. Rooms are small, everything looks weared and heavily used.

Review 31:Location, breakfast

Review 32:On our first day we went for breakfast at the attached hotel opposite LOcean but thought the staff were less friendly. 14 euros each was a lot for coffee and croisants. On other days we walked into the centre of town and got a smile and the same food for less than 4 euros each.

Review 33:We loved the location; we had aroom overlooking the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Ideal location for exploring the local area.

Review 34:Nothing

Review 35:We got a room with a stunning view of the sea and the coast with two balconies. The whole place is calm; even if it is a sea resort there are no tourist shops in the hotel area, which we appreciated very much (the small center at the harbour is at an easy walking distance). Everything was excellent, comfortable bed, lots of space, good breakfast served in your room and even a very good restaurant is connected to the hotel. You can chose between bistro and gastronomique. The food and wine and service were very good at both places and it is often fully booked so you need to book in advance. The staff were all very nice and welcoming. We are not used to stay at the Atlantic, so the first night we did not realize how much the sea would change so we were a bit surprised about the small beach at the hotel since you had to walk and swim in lots of sea weed ; but now I think it was really nice to take a walk of about one kilometer along the beautiful coast for your morning swim at a large and calm sandy beach. And then you take your afternoon swim at the nice little beach close to the hotel. If we go to Le Croisic again we would absolutely stay at this hotel.

Review 36:Exceptionally welcoming staff and great breakfast right on the ocean front.

Review 37:The wifi doesn't work in the rooms. Missing amenities like Kleenex, wash clothes, soap,

Review 38:The staff were wonderful, helpful to the utmost.

Review 39:The restaurant was very poor

Review 40:The location

Review 41:The bed was ok but seems to be a running theme in France.

Review 42:The view and location.

Review 43:Nice place to stay

Review 44:WC needs grab handles & basin waste is partially blocked

Review 45:Very good sea view room

Review 46:Poor interior design..No coffee maker, No electric kettle in the room.

Review 47:Nice location and view. Friendly staff.

Review 48:It's hard to get a drink in this hotel and its sister across the road

Review 49:Clean bright room sea view .pleasant staff

Review 50:Beautiful view from the balcony

Review 51:sea views , balcony and large bed

Review 52:None

Review 53:Exciting being so near to the ocean great breakfast in room

Review 54:No tea or coffee facilities in room Wifi slow slow

Review 55:The room

Review 56:Massive disappointment with gourmet restaurant. It is trading on its past good name, not the current food and service.

Review 57:Sea views.

Review 58:breakfast was poor and expensive

Review 59:room sea view

Review 60:No fridge in room old and tatty furniture needing renovation window would not close properly breakfast was very Good..

Review 61:Breakfast could be a tiny bit more international with either bacon and egg and / or cold cuts with cheeses.

Review 62:As said above,

Review 63:Stunning sea view

Review 64:stayed 6 days in total 3 days on our way down to Portugal and 3 days on the way back

Review 65:Breakfast was overpriced.

Review 66:Both hotel and restaurant/bistro staff seemed stressed, uncoordinated and not well trained. Noise from the road

Review 67:Room Location Cleanliness

Review 68:no dining room

Review 69:staff very pleasant

Review 70:NO idea or concept of customer service

Review 71:Great location

Review 72:Fantastic view, great room & staff.

Review 73:The hotel is situated right on the sea front and our room had a lovely sea view. All the staff we met were very friendly and helpful.

Review 74:The wi-fi was patchy

Review 75:The views wer wonderful!

Review 76:A very clean and welcoming place at a lovely location. The crew is so helpful and hospitable. I could not ask for more.

Review 77:The staff were welcoming and helpful. The hotel was clean and well equipped. We had a beautiful view and a balcony. We liked Le Crosic which was a stroll away with plenty of restaurants and little shops. Would definitely stay there again.

Review 78:Very nice and romantic hotel with amazing sea view from one of ours 2 balcony. Also very quiet. Very nice staff. Good breakfast served in the room. The restaurant L'Ocean, just across the street is excellent. We stayed 4 days and we enjoied very much this hotel and the staff.

Review 79:The lack of breakfast within our hotel. Lack of a bar to use. All of this was at the sister hotel. Had I been staying longer I would have booked a hotel with a pool and spa.

Review 80:We thought that the hotel suited us very well for a short break. Had we have been going for longer we would have wanted more facilities. The staff were just lovely and nothing was to much trouble. Parking was easy and our room was spacious and had a wonderful view .

Review 81:Road noise quite bad. View of sea now interrupted by sister hotel across the road. No breakfast on site, you have to go across the road to sister hotel.

Review 82:clean and tidy hotel. Helpful owner.

Review 83:The food was spectacularly good, memorable being the excellent fish and soufflé Grand Marnier. Two balconies to our room gave superb views of the sea. The breakfast was varied and good and the staff attentive

Review 84:We chose to have breakfast in their sister hotel, l'Ocean, and it was definitely not worth 14 euro each. The only food available was bread, croissants and cereal, no meat or cheese or eggs! For that kind of money you would expect more, especially as the food at dinner was excellent.

Review 85:The location was stunning and the room had a balcony with great sea views. The food in the bistro of their sister hotel, l'Ocean, was great too.

Review 86:I had a very good room with a balcony and view of the sea. Meals were taken in the Bistro of the sister hotel across the road. Service and food was excellent.

Review 87:It's location next to the Atlantic coastline is superb. It's really located at the best place in Le Croisic, a charming Breton fishing village.

Review 88:Tiles in the bathroom, dark brown and black and depressing. The bathroom needed a make over! As in all French hotels breakfast is a problem and utterly over priced. We went into town and had a coffee and pain au raisin.

Review 89:Very comfortable bed! Staff were very efficient and helpful. Quiet location, nice to be away from the main town...although, some guests may be surprised that the hotel is on the other side of the peninsula to La Croisic.

Review 90:Hotel had very few facilities. Breakfast served across the road insister hotel. Expensive e14 per person. No hairdryer in the room. Plentyof cubboard space and nothing in them.

Review 91:Room was lovely and big with a great view, Very bright. Bed verycomfortable. Location very good. Right beside sea/cliff walk.

Review 92:I accidently left my iPad behind, rang from the railway station about 1 and a half k away and a an English speaking staff member quickly brought it by car enabling us to catch train. Also they obligingly on booked us to next place.

Review 93:Found nothing to dislike.

Review 94:Lovely situation and view from our seaview room. Ate at sister hotelrestaurant which was very pleasing. Easy to visit La Baule for busyresort experience.

Review 95:The breakfast service was not available along with the room price. Need to incorporate other breakfast options as well

Review 96:The room was clean and comfortable. Acces to the beach and ocean view was great.

Review 100:The toilet flush-pull stuck a couple of times but we corrected it. Could become a bigger problem

Review 101:View, friendly staff

Review 102:Excellent breakfast facility at sister hotel L'Ocean. V.good air conditioning..
