Reviews for Premier Inn Elgin
Review 1:I stay in Premier Inns all over the country & this one was one of the best yet.. My room was in the new wing of the Inn & was brand new It was lovely..
Review 2:We do not have any negative comments
Review 3:Quiet. Clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed our stay and would consider returning some time in the future.
Review 4:The peace and quiet and a great nights sleep. I did think brekky was included in my booking...but my mistake...it wasn't. But at only £8.99 for cooked and continental it was excellent value.
Review 5:Very friendly staff, stayed at premier inn as the experience is pretty uniform across the board no matter where you stay which is good as you know what you are paying for and doesnt disapoint.
Review 6:I made the booking for my daughter and I to attend a function in the area. I used booking.com and when we got to the hotel I was booked into a single room. The staff told me to never use booking.com as they made a lot of mistakes but said they had a twin room available. Obviously because there was now two of us the bill was £20 more than I originally had been quoted. I paid even though I was a bit annoyed but I had no proof of where the error had happened, When we got to our room it was a triple and I had to sleep on the bed that is usually for a child, a long journey, an emotional function so I slept ok but it was not as expected. A disappointment. At breakfast the staff were expecting three of us. In 24 hours we were 1 then 2 then 3. Not our usual standard.
Review 7:The breakfast in the Brewers Fair was good and the staff were very good and friendly. There was gluten free bread for toast and that was a super plus point.
Review 8:Great location and plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. Spacious, clean and modern room with lovely big bathroom. Bed very comfy as always at premier inn. Food in restaurant was lovely as well. Great stay!
Review 9:Food was not up to the standard of other Premier Inns I have stayed at. Breakfast was very greasy and like dinner was served on cold plates
Review 10:The friendly and helpful welcome
Review 11:Everything was fine for what we needed, maybe the kids beds could have been a bit more comfier like the adults were!
Review 12:Good accommodation! Friendly staff! Perfect for our stay!
Review 13:My wife is disabled and although the bath is set up for disabled people it was very difficult for her to shower and a seat would have been nice inside the shower/bath but did not really spoil the stay
Review 14:Great location food great at Brewers Fare Planning to go back next time for a few days. The staff were really friendly and the welcome was superb
Review 15:The hotel needs lifts and grab handles in the bathroom. My wife, whilst not disabled requires hand holds to get out the bath. She also found it hard to turn off the shower/bath taps. We also couldn't open the window for the traffic noise.
Review 16:Superb weather. Good breakfasts. Very comfortable bed and spacious room.
Review 17:Not enough drawers. Cannot contemplate staying for more than a couple of days as nowhere to put stuff.
Review 18:Comfortable, QUIET. Easy parking, restaurant next door. Everything absolutely perfect. Loved the decor, colours in our room. Room 39. Gorgeous picture on the wall. Immaculate
Review 19:Barely saw staff other than when originally checked in who were helpful. However when we came down again to ask questions regarding cinema, things to do and laundrette couldn't find anyone.
Review 20:location was good easy to find and close to restaurants and fast food. Room was clean and comfortable.
Review 21:The free Wifi was sloooooooooow:-)
Review 22:Spacious rooms in a really good condition. Everything was clean and pretty. Definitely a "I will come back" hotel.
Review 23:I have disabilities with my back and hips unfortunately the bed was hard and I didn't get more than an hours sleep and was in agony the next day which wasn't a great start to my six hour drive home
Review 24:It was lovely and clean and the staff were very friendly
Review 25:Great hotel!! Staff were very friendly and accommodated our request for early check in!! Good size room and very comfortable bed!! Free parking as well!
Review 26:The quality of the food at Brewers Fayre was less than mediocre. The exception to that was the breakfast, which was of a better standard.
Review 27:Really attentive staff. Nice people.
Review 28:There was a mix up with our room and not her guest that had the same surname. Our room was given to the other guests so caused a lot of confusion when we arrived. Was eventually sorted out and we were offered a different room.
Review 29:Easy to get to, quite central for what we needed, clean hotel and comfy beds.
Review 30:the staff we re very helpful when we arrived and made sure that we got room ground level as my wife is disabled and there is no lift to first floor which is a pity as it is a nice place
Review 31:The fact you had booked a disabled room when I asked for a twin. The gentleman on duty was fantastic, but it caused him problems as he was dealing with multiple registrations and had to make beds up for us.
Review 32:Gentleman on duty juggling three of us registering at the same time [see what I didn't like] and made each of us feel welcome and dealt with us quickly. Easy access to city centre, free parking.
Review 33:Not in the heart of downtown. But, close enough if you wanted a short drive. Not a big downside for our purposes.
Review 34:Only stayed there overnight, as we were traveling between tourist locations. Attached restaurant was a plus, as we got in late afternoon and we're tired after a long day. Would stay there again.
Review 35:i stayed in room 24 the cleaners must not do a job as someone had left dirty underwear and socks on top of wardrobe ??? we had kids and totally disusting almost put me off usin premier inn in future?
Review 36:hotel and location and staff d and we had gd time except in room??
Review 37:I didn't think the bed was as comfy as it looked. I tossed and turned for a good hour before falling asleep. This isn't a problem but I could have been doing with a wee hot chocolate before bed. A little satchet in the coffee, sugar, milk collection, would have gone down great :)
Review 38:The cleanliness, decoration and location. I had almost everything I needed, the staff were very friendly. There wasn't a hair dryer in my room as they were putting a new one in, but I got one at reception so it wasn't a problem. My 7 year old daughter loved staying with you, she wants to go back and didn't want to leave :)
Review 39:Hotel was comfortable and good value. All staff members were friendly and very helpful . It was an easy walk to both cathedral and town where tour of Johnston's mill was excellent. Breakfast in their cafe is also recommended
Review 40:The heating was working overtime and there was no way we could reduce the heat temperature. Reception later advised us and we confirmed, that there was no way to reduce the temperature in the room. This was very disappointing as the room was stifling. We opened the window which helped a tiny bit and also had the fan on, but it was still extremely hot.
Review 41:Good sized room and extremely comfortable bed.
Review 42:Helpful reception staff, clean room and comfy beds. Restaurant was busy for breakfast so a bit of a wait, a buffet for the cooked breakfast would have been far better. Would definitely recommend and stay again.
Review 43:Not centrally located compared to other hotels in Elgin, nor is therea lounge/meeting area. However, a car, and the next doorrestaurant mitigate those issues. Overall, a superb hotel! Woulddefinitely stay again!
Review 44:Superb rooms, perfect for both the business and leisure traveller alike.Agreement for breakfast at next door Brewer's Fayre is an excellentway to go..! Beds are extremely comfortable and provide a greatnight's sleep.
Review 45:Paid a bit more than would have liked for the type of stay but can't complain had a good enough stay
Review 46:The room was a good size good design and enjoyed a good night sleep no noise , first time at premier inn it beat my expectations
Review 47:We had a lovely breakfast the first morning, but am afraid the service was not so good the second morning, we had to wait nearly half an hour for out cooked breakfast.
Review 48:Easy to find, friendly staff, clean and very modern.
Review 49:Only a minor issue...room temp was a bit too hot.....heating switched off and window open....no joy! But I did see a fan supplied in the room
Review 50:The room was very clean, quiet although they did warn of traffic noise...heard nothing
Review 51:On arrival staff not 'up to speed' Prebooked 2 rooms 7 days earlier with confirmation. Struggled to find booking. Not very professional. Staff at breakfast excellent. I paid for rooms, my guest arrived later, staff could not find payment details. Embarrassing.
Review 52:Everything in the room 'worked'. Well laid out well designed, functional. A pleasure. The best no gimmicks hotel that does 'what it say's on the lid'.
Review 53:There were supposed to be at least two normal beds. However, there was only a double bed and a sofa bed. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable which was a shame for my friend who had to sleep on it.
Review 54:The double bed was very comfortable The size of the room was very good
Review 55:Al crockery in the room and Brewers Faire was dirty. New dishwashers required urgently. The breakfast presentation was awful. Door banging an ongoing issue. A slamming door when you are trying to sleep is not fun
Review 56:The space, location, quietness, staff
Review 57:We were in Elgin for a curling competition, and didn't want to travel back that night to Aviemore then drive over again following day. Very comfortable very pleasant staff and also very comfortable and quiet. Thank you we will use you again
Review 58:This room for the disabled was furthest away from the reception area, and 2 heavy doors had to be negotiated through the corridors before accessing the room. This would likely prove difficult for disabled guests. However, right next to room was a fire exit, so that was well thought out.
Review 59:Staff very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was freshly cooked to our spec and really nice.
Review 60:Wi-Fi was not good unless you paid for it , this isn`t free Wi-Fi add a bit on to the room if you want to cover the costs of Wi-Fi extra charges are a little frustrating
Review 61:Perfect location
Review 62:It is a 15 to 20 minute walk into town through an industrial part of Elgin. Even so, this was not unpleasant.
Review 63:The room is excellent and the association with the Linkwood Lodge Brewers Fayre is a great idea. Huge TV.
Review 64:With reference to 'disabled room', I feel that most disabled people would have found the bed too low. Also, most disabled people would find a wet room eminently preferable to having to climb into a bath for their showers. Even with a bath, another grab rail, sited on the wall at entrance level to the bath would help a bit.
Review 65:Location. Helpful staff. Comfortable bed and good Tv with subtitles! Staff were able to provide a disabled room when we arrived as unable to use the stairs. Convenient parking, but most of the disabled bays were used by cars not displaying a blue badge.
Review 66:The main bed proved to be uncomfortable and both of us, (independently), woke up with sore backs. The most annoying thing was a fan in the bathroom that stayed on all night, keeping us awake. When we mentioned this to the senior person on the reception, he seemed very dismissive and unconcerned and did not apologise.
Review 67:Convenience, price and size of the room were all good.
Review 68:Nothing, it's a very good hotel
Review 69:My son had to leave at 6.45am before breakfast starts. Martin and Sam on reception organised a continental breakfast which they stored in their fridge and brought to his room at 6.30am. Outstanding service and greatly appreciated.
Review 70:A corridor door adjacent to the room 'banged' shut every time it was used. This happened from 05.30 onwards, ruining an otherwise good nights sleep. I had to have a cold shower in the morning as any attempt to move the temperature control resulted in scalding hot water. Staff informed, see comments.
Review 71:Friendly staff, very clean room, comfortable bed. Staff dealt with my complaints by offering a full refund, many thanks.
Review 72:Now currently I am staying on Premier inn Haymarket Edunburgh. It totally disappointed me. Elgin premier Inn was fantastic and this is right opposite to that. I am worried on believing Elgin room I've booked for another week from 19th Jan for 4 days in same Haymarket and it cannot be canceled which is awful.
Review 73:I took a train all the way to Aberdeen/Dyce to pick up my hire care, but I forgot my passport. A quick call to Manager Andy back at the hotel, and upon my request, found my passport, took necessary photos of it and emailed the car hire desk with them so I didn't have to waste the rest of my day and night taking trains back and forth. I promised him a beer, but was never able to catch up with him before I left. I owe him a HUGE one the next time I visit. I love Scotland!! :)
Review 74:Avoid the breakfast at the adjacent brewers fayre. Poor quality - waited too long for basic things like refilling of hot water for tea, hot food was very greasy, cereal was stale, toaster was not fit for purpose.
Review 75:Really friendly staff, newly renovated, spotless and comfy rooms. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience and would happy stay again.
Review 76:liked all of stay
Review 77:I have stayed hear a few times, rooms are excellent we stayed in new wing this time. Staff are helpful and pleasant. Food at restaurant attached is extremely good value for money and excellent quality
Review 78:I am disabled and was given a room with walk In shower facilities on the ground floor the room was excellent the staff couldn't be more helpful or obliging very quiet excellent service will definitely return
Review 79:Could do with more drawer space instead of bedside table and not enough hanging space for 2 people.
Review 80:Near town centre easy to find.Very clean, staff helpful and friendly.Comfortable room excellent value for money.
Review 81:Limited coffee and milk left in rooms
Review 82:This is my first experience of a Premier Inn and I will be back. Comfortable clean accommodation with a eating facility closebye
Review 83:This wouldn't be a complaint for most people but the porridge was far too creamy for me!
Review 84:The beds are wonderful and the place was really quiet. I have stayed there several times in the last few years, but it is even better now.
Review 85:The disabled access rooms were in the new extension. The room was modern but it was the farthest point from reception and you had to navigate through 5 fire doors, which were not automatic. When going from the room in the morning to reception, you had to move the cleaners trolleys, linen bags etc. Disabled rooms were not ideally located in hotel. Wifi did not work due to poor weather conditions and no refund was offered.
Review 86:The disabled room was spacious and the bathroom was well adapted for wheelchair users. Very efficient and friendly staff.
Review 87:i have stayed at a lot of hotels and this is the first one that does not give you breakfast included in the price
Review 88:i liked everything the staff was amazing and very friendly the room was good and clean and there was a fan in the room which was very good and it was close to the facilities
Review 89:Very close to a slaughter house, they were doing a cleaning session & the smell was appaling!
Review 90:Staff very friendly & could not have ben more helpfull
Review 91:Located away from town facilities
Review 92:Spacious room and ensuite, quiet room, very comfortable bed. Great breakfast with big range of choices. Clean smart decor in room. Plenty of easy parking closeby.
Review 93:Great staff and really comfortable. Quiet, well appointed rooms meant a really good sleep. And a bath tub - god bless a bath tub!! Amazing bed too. Plush!
Review 94:I did not like that I booked through Bookingroom.com at the beginning of June and was given a room for disabled people. Other people who were in my company booked much later than I & were given rooms with baths & over head showers!!!! Very disappointed especially since I have booked many times with yourselves, You will not be my first choice now for booking accommodation.
Review 95:The hotel was really noisy right through the night which kept me awake. I also didn't like there were no hair dryers in the room and the shower wasn't very powerful
Review 96:Rooms were clean, spacious and modern. Staff were polite and helpful The beds were also very comfortable and liked the choice of pillows
Review 97:small bed window cleaner first thing in the morning while our curtains were shut and we were still sleeping
Review 98:Quiet room Mood light...sexy lol Big TV Access to Brewers Fayre
Review 99:The bed was uncomfortable like sleeping on the floor, we have stayed in lots of premier inns but the beds here were by far the worst, we booked for three when we arrived only beds for two made, the staff soon rectified this.
Review 100:It was close to where we needed to be. Premier inn rooms are the same all over the country,
Review 101:Adjacent restaurant - sausages on the breakfast were not cooked properly. The nozzle off my personal hairdryer went missing! The double bed was too high and too firm.
Review 102:The size of the room and the cleanliness.
Review 103:Location!..in an Industrial "park". Too far to walk to The centre of Elgin which is very attractive. The surroundings of the Hotel are VERY ugly
Review 104:Excelletn friendly staff.Adcacent pub/restaurant has escellent food . Very good value.
Review 105:Was raining and we were in fancy dress. Receptionist got us a brolly without being asked. All staff very welcoming and couldn't have been more pleasant. A credit to premier inns. Thanks for a wonderful stay
Review 106:We had a lovely comfortable disabled room. The only complaint we had was that we had to walk the length of the hotel to get to it. It was a bit of hike with a wheelchair & baggage.
Review 107:Having to eat our meals in the Brewersfayre pub next door. We did not want a large breakfast every day, Just a small bowl of cereal or Toast and marmalde/jam with our tea and coffee would have done, but this did not seem to be on offer. The evening meals we were quite happy to have elsewhere as part of our travels. Again though the staff were very friendly and happy to help here too.
Review 108:Both my wife and I needs were attended to nothing seemed to be to much trouble for the staff, who were happy to help with everythinig we asked. We liked the clean and spacious bedroom with all the extra touches, a decent comfortable bed, tea/coffee facitlites a bath and a shower and free access to the internet. We were completely bowled over by the friendly staff.
Review 109:I booked several weeks ago and specially asked for a downstairs room as we had equipment to take to room with us and as my husband has mobility problem. Where were we put ? Upstairs. Staff very nice but disappointed no notice taken of request
Review 110:Very noisy location Pricey for what you get (compared with Travelodge) Take it or leave it breakfast price (no "small breakfast" option) No basic map of the city available
Review 111:Convenient location for the city
Review 112:Room was a bit smaller than we've had previously with premier inn. Less storage space as well - a bit cramped with 4 people, luggage and trying to get ready for a wedding!!
Review 113:We know what we get with premier inn, kids were impressed with flat screen tv in room. New block so more modern than most we've stayed in. 2nd childs bed was more comfortable than most.
Review 114:Centre of industrial estate. Having to go outside to next building for breakfast.
Review 115:Comfy bed, good size room and bathroom. Clean and good bedding, towels and toiletries. Good tv. Friendly staff. Convenient for shopping and restaurants.
Review 116:Dinner, meals other than breakfast were not very appetising
Review 117:Quietness of the room Comfortable bed Tea and coffee making facilities "Key" to come and go as I pleased Reasonable price at the weekend Breakfasts
Review 118:Room was very noisy the first night from street noise but they happily moved us the second night when they had room.
Review 119:Convenient location, great staff and clean, comfortable rooms at a great price. Rooms facing the street are very noisy so be sure to ask in advance for a room in the new wing facing the parking lot (better tv too!). We were told that windows on the street side are due to be replaced next year.
Review 120:It was a bit out of the way in Elgin and we had to travel a fair distance through horrid traffic in Inverness consistently to get to out destinations and local attractions.
Review 121:For the first time on our honeymoon it was acknowledged that we were just married. The staff had a cold bottle of wine waiting and a congratulations card. We had the loveliest room, very big with an extremely comfortable king bed that we had the best sleep of our trip on. Overall just amazing!
Review 122:It is in an office park, so there isn't anything else right there.
Review 123:We stayed at this location because it was close to Speyside and all there is to see in the area. Easy to get into and out of. Tied to the restaurant next door, so there is a convenient place to eat.
Review 124:room was uncomfortable temperature and bathroom was too cold first thing in the morning - had to run the shower to warm up the room with the steam
Review 125:receptionist was very welcoming on arrival
Review 126:Staff extremely helpful. Nothing too much bother. Provided additional items for roomwhen asked.and even kept my bags safe after my stay to allow me to explore other areas of Moray. Staff at Brewers Fayre also very nice and breakfast good.
Review 127:The lager on the first night was flat. I had 2 types and both were not nice. The second night not to bad.
Review 128:Nice sized room, comfortable bed. Plenty of hot water. Breakfast was good. Receptionist was very helpful when I needed to make a phone call.
Review 129:Room was to hot for me we did have a portable fan on all night but its just my preference
Review 130:Right on the road so easy to find room was quiet and comfortable
Review 131:Nothing really, although it was afair way into town if you wanted to walk.
Review 132:Standard Premier Inn room, with nice comfortable bed and choice of pillows. Nice pub next door for meals, very freindly and helpful staff. Only a 10 minute drive to the beach at Lossiemouth.
