Review 1:Requested cot for our son, but on arrival there was no cot. Eventually got one, but had to put it up ourselves, and it was not working properly. Also no high chair in dining room!

Review 3:Nothing
Review 4:Friendly helpful staff. Spotless en-suite with great spacious shower. Comfortable bed. Well cooked breakfast. Location is close to High St facilities.
Review 5:Parking good but not much room. Room good but would benefit from having a chair if there was enough space for one. Furnishings excellent in solid wood and would have liked to see caosters for cups.
Review 6:No internet working in annex as advertised Pillows were flat and need changing High noise level in annex rooms due to water pipe noise, flushing toilets, doors closing Seems to be stud walls with no insulation ? Card machine not working when trying to pay

Review 20:Isabel and Malcolm the proprietors of Southbank could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. There was a good choice for breakfast which set you up for the day and was freshly cooked to order. Malcolm does a good scrambled egg. The room we stopped in was clean and modern as was the bathroom. We would certainly stay again when in Elgin.
Review 21:Nothing to dislike.
Review 22:I liked the warm chatty welcome from Isabelle, the owner. Then room was very comfortable and breakfast next morning was good. When checking out I unfortunately had a problem with my account card but Isabelle and I were able to work around this and she was very helpful, so thank you Isabelle.
Review 23:Some very minor observations that should be easy to fix plug missing in our bathroom Some of the doors could do with a little padding to soften the noise of other guests
Review 24:South bank guest house an absolutely lovely B&b, our double plus twin family room was nice and spacious with a well appointed en suite (room 1). The beds were very comfy and the rooms were spotless. The landlady is very friendly and was even able to accommodate the odd extraordinary request of a young family. The breakfast was also delicious.

Review 86:reasonable price, good location; available for last-minute booking (I got the last room).
Review 87:We had a most unfortunate experience with the Southbank Guesthouse. Just 20 minutes from the Guesthouse, where we held a confirmed booking.com reservation made two days earlier, we were call by Isobel, who told us that she could not accommodate us for the night because the guests occupying the room assigned to us had “decided to stay an extra night” and had “taken off for a day of sight seeing without checking out of their room” which left her no choice but to decine to honor our reservation. When asked why she had not simply removed their things from the room – as hoteliers do under like circumstances – she said that if she had she done this when she realized her predicament, she would have had to clean the room herself : the maid had already left for the day. Instead, she said that she had found us a comparable place at the same price. This was not the case: Southbank is in the center of Elgin and the place where she sent us was outside of the center. She suggested that, since she had not taken our money, she had no real responsibility toward us. If the Southbank Guesthouse can do this to people holding a confirmed Booking.com reservation, how can anyone ever feel confident again that they will not be dumped in the same manner in the future?
Review 88:We never got a chance to find out whether we liked or disliked the Guesthouse.
Review 89:My boyfriend and I were travelling Scotland for 7 days together with my parents and Im pretty sure we could all agree that this was the best and coziest place we stayed all week! We stayed in the rooms at the top floor and even if they were a bit smaller than the rest, they were perfect for us since we like it cozy. It was nice and clean and felt a bit like staying in someones guest room. The owners were lovely and the price also included a great homemade english breakfast :) I warmly recommend this place!
Review 90:good location near city center, 10 mins walk to bus station, 5 mins to railway. Therefore very convenient to explore the Speyside Whiskey Distilleries around. Nice small town with a huge 24/7 supermarket just behind the railway station.
Review 91:I liked the friendliness of the staff, I was made to feel very welcome and my room was very clean and comfortable with an excellent shower.
Review 92:The only thing that was missing for us was a dvd player as we had our kids with us and would of been nice to of been able to put a film on for them before their bedtime
Review 93:We were made to feel very welcome as soon as we arrived. Our room was nice and large and very clean. The owners we very attentive and made sure we were happy at all times throughout our stay. Also we were very happy with the breakfast provided, there was plenty to choose from and the service was brilliant!
Review 94:Nothing at all!
Review 95:Welcoming and really helpful to attend to particular needs. Would book again and have advised our Elgin representative so for colleagues' information.
Review 96:Elgin is a beautiful city and the owners at Southbank Guesthouse were great. Lots of great suggestions for things to do and even though it was raining we loved our stay and plan to return.
Review 97:Comfortable and clean accommodation with friendly and helpfull staff. Great breakfast. Very central for shops and tourist attractions. Overall a great place to stay.
Review 98:Being on ground floor meant we were woken up very early as breakfast room next door and some guests cars and bikes right outside window.
Review 99:We liked it as it was central to where we wanted to be.
Review 100:Carol and the staff made us feel more than welcome, helped us with things to do n see one of my fondest memories of Scotland. Would highly recommend Southbank.
Review 101:N/A
Review 102:all staff very friendly.. central in Elgin ..quiet ..food cooked fresh.. nothing was to much trouble for them to do for you ..bedroom/on suite ..comfortable. hope to return next year
Review 103:Noise from next door's bathroom which appeared to be situated behindour beds,so early morning wake-ups were guaranteed by flushing toiletetc. Early morning noise of loud talking/laughing/door bangingfrom same next door room(We do appreciate that not much can be doneregarding noisy neighbours) We were packed and ready for an earlymorning set off on our very long journey home after an anticipated 7ambreakfast on Monday 8th July only to discover the breakfast times onthat day had been changed from the usual weekday 7am-8.30 Am to 8am-9amby a notice on the breakfast room door in the main guest house, thisinconvenienced us considerably-why wasn't a notice placed in theannex or under our door? On arrival I placed a small nugget of carbolicsoap (I use for my acne) on the bathroom basin-more than enough to lastme for our stay.I Managed to use it twice before it disappeared afterthe first daily room clean-I know this sounds petty but I was cross thatsomeone had deemed it fit to be disposed of,especially as I had no moresoap-apart from the guest soap provided.
Review 104:Superb location. 5 star breakfast.View from room in annex overneighbour's beautiful garden.Extremely quiet location despite beingso close to the centre (Elgin is so remarkably quiet anyway.) Near tocountless restaurants/takeaways/pubs.Short walk to local whiskydistillery.Ample off street parking.
Review 105:The owners are so very nice and friendly, willing to have a chat with you whenever they're around, great with helpful tips for things to go out and do around Elgin. Loved it here! Possibly the best place we staying during our entire trip!
Review 106:It looked slightly better on the photos.. I thought that it was a little expensive for what it was. But that may be just me being out of touch with prices!
Review 107:Setting and helpfulness - very helpful with my daughter's gluten free diet.
Review 108:Not very good selection of good restaurants in the vicinity. Even landlady couldn't recommend anywhere that was consistently good.
Review 109:Comfortable room and beds. Good breakfast. Friendly staff.
