Reviews for Hostal Sixto
Review 1:There was no WIFI available in the room for the first 3 days. When I informed the staff of this they made no obvious attempt to resolve the issue. Although we requested a double/full bed in advance we provided a room with two twin beds. The toiletries were lacking at best. We were provided one travel-size bar of soap every couple of days which is not sufficient for two guest. An awkward tension detected amongst some of the staff at the hotel's restaurant. The housekeeping staff entered the room while we were still in bed.
Review 2:Ideal location.
Review 3:No free public parking available which meant it cost 10 € per day to park. The owner had confirmed a specific room request with us before arrival but the previous occupants overstayed so we had a different room in a different building -which was still good -but we were a little disappointed as had wanted a view onto the street
Review 4:Located in the old town and close to everything yet still a peaceful place to stay. Individually styled rooms. Good value for money overall
Review 5:The staff was helpful way beyond what anyone would expect. They often would walk us personally to the tourist information office or the beach, both about a block from the hotel. They also showed us 4 different rooms that we could pick from when we arrived. When they called a taxi for us, they would translate where we wanted to go to the taxi driver. In short they could not do enough for us. We also ate at their restaurant and they were so helpful in ordering food and always so nice.
Review 6:The staff spoke poor English and equally poor Spanish. The wifi was horrible. The room was sparse and looked like a bad camp bungalow inside. The art on the wall was even disturbing. I wasn't clear about whether breakfast was included or not and the staff being Italian would not answer my questions with confidence. So we never at the restaurant. Again. Location is amazing!!
Review 7:We love the location even though it wasn't exactly where it says it is. One building for the hostal is I the plaza. The other building has an entry right on the road... But close to plaza españa.
Review 8:Stylish family run hotel. Very friendly and a perfect location for the old town and beach. Italian food was very good and we ate there 4 times on our 8 day stay. We will defiantly go back next year.
Review 9:In the evening it was a bit noisy due to the fact that my room was above the front terrace.
Review 10:Everything was excellent! Especially th staff! I felt at home and their were amazing!

Review 22:small room
Review 23:location and very friendly owner
Review 24:Roberta was fantastic, and the hotel was walkable to everything. The room was nice and quiet with a queen bed and a couch. We had our own keys and could come and go as we pleased. Roberta was a pleasure. The value was great, but she made the experience fantastic.
Review 25:Rota is a small town, so the cost was just slightly out of alignment with the local economy.
Review 26:All around amazing place. Rota is a small town so location was never an issue. The staff saved or trip to Granada by acting as translator for 30 minutes over the phone helping us book needed tickets.
Review 27:The restaurant in the hotel is a little bit expensive comparing to others in Rota.
Review 28:My boyfriend and I stayed there for a week in the middle of September 2013. It was wonderful: + excellent staff. Friendly helpful hardworking people. + cozy hotel, cozy rooms. + location is great. The hotel is in historical center of Rota and in 5 minutes away from a perfect sand beach. + always clean rooms. + there is a fridge in every room. + there is great (homelike) Italian restaurant in Hostal Sixto. Everything in this place is so homelike and cozy. We want to thank the staff of the hotel for our perfect vacation :) The weather in Rota in the middle of September: +30 degrees Celsius and light breeze, so you won't feel hot. + Atlantic Ocean was warm clean and calm. We were swimming and sunbathing during all our stay in Rota.
Review 29:The rooms were smaller than I would like, but its closeness to the beachmade up for that. Spanish people talk until late at night so a littlemore sound proofing would be good
Review 30:I was very impressed with their desire to please, and their kindnesstoward my two small, but sometimes unruly children. The hotel was cleanand simple in a pedestrian zone and very close to the magnificent beachof Rota. The restaurant appears to be new and run by the same Italianfamily , so the food was excellent, for me quite a rarity in this partof Andalucia.I Love being in Andalucia , but this hotel and restaurantmade my trip even better.
