Reviews for Orchardleigh House

Review 1:Stunning location and house. The members of our group were very impressed. Staff left as soon as we had checked in and we felt like a house party in an Agatha Christie novel without the murders!

Review 2:We were wowed by the grounds as we drove up to the Estate, welcomed by friendly staff and a warm fire. We were pleasantly surprised by the accommodation and enjoyed a drink from the honesty bar. We slept very well and the Breakfast was fabulous. We had a walk around the grounds before leaving, all in all a fantastic stay!!

Review 3:There is nothing to dislike. Accommodation, location, food, hospitality, quality of everything - this is a not to be missed venue. Rooms so spacious, bathrooms elegant with power shower and roll top bath!!!

Review 4:Very warm and welcoming with crackling fireplaces and entertaining cluedo-style rooms. Very grandeur like staying in Downtown Abby. Breakfast was very lovely too. Would definitely recommend

Review 5:weak internet throughout and unsuable in rooms.

Review 6:absolutely beautiful find, a great place for a stop in the region. awesome breakfast--felt like we were in downton abbey.

Review 7:Nothing to dislike but note this is B&B only (unless you are having/attending a wedding!!) so you will need to travel for lunch and dinner. The drive is a very long walk and the nearest pub is probably 3+ miles away - don't let this put you off!!

Review 8:Fabulous location and property, really NOT your usual B&B venue - STUNNING

Review 9:Absolutely stunning accommodation. We were allowed to explore the gorgeous house and grounds as if we lived there. It felt like we were back in time or in a fairy tale. I could not recommend this property highly enough.

Review 10:No signs for parking and entrance.Once shown to room we didn't see either of the two ladies who booked us in.No information about checkout so just had to leave key on a sideboard.Room not very clean-bin hadn't been emptied, cobwebs .Owner obviously more interested in his wedding business but if he wants to use house for B&B he needs to invest some more thought into this side of the business.

Review 11:The location-good for visiting Longleat.

Review 12:If I could pin point one thing it would be the spare beds for the kids, we spelt four in a bed since the springs in the mattresses were v uncomfortable.

Review 13:The grounds are amazing the house and it's history make the place what it is . I look forward to going back. Breakfast is amazing with fresh berries and baked pastries plus a full English breakfast.

Review 14:The room needs updates, such as carpet.

Review 15:This hotel is absolutely gorgeous! It is located in a very large and beautiful land with Golf Course. This is not a hotel, but a castle to my daughters.

Review 16:Felt like we were standing in someone's house unwanted. One camp bed for my daughter was broken and only had two tables set for breakfast so had to share with another family.

Review 17:Beautiful hotel on stunning grounds. Massive room.

Review 18:The hotel was amazing. Set in its own grounds with gorgeous gardens, a lovely old church. Great for an evening stroll. Jean was friendly and made us feel at home and comfortable. Would definitely return if back in the area.

Review 19:Unfortunately as it was quiet I think someone forgot to fire up the hot water system as there was no hot water for either a wash or a shower, but although this was inconvenient this did not spoil our stay.

Review 20:The owners were very welcoming and as they were very quiet gave us a room upgrade each which certainly made our day.

Review 21:The bed was creaky, but comfortable enough. The bathroom smelt of drains, but we opened the window and it helped!

Review 22:We was greeted by a friendly face and he made us feel very welcome, As we entered the house we were welcomed with roaring fires and a cosy atmosphere. The breakfast room was lovely and bright, the food was nice.

Review 23:Only one minor hiccup when door lock stuck (probably operator error!) but prompt appearance of staff quickly resolved problem. Caught a whiff of sulphur dioxide in bathroom but this (as in Iceland) could be due to nearby geothermal springs in Bath. Otherwise brilliant.

Review 24:Absolutely stunning location with friendly and helpful staff. Food good too.

Review 25:The bed was not as comfortable and it creaks with every movement you made. Other than that everything was fine.

Review 26:We liked the location. Very quiet. We also loved the whole building. Very Grand. The manager was very friendly and welcoming. The room was huge and nicely decorated.

Review 27:I booked 2 club superior rooms, but because I booke the wrong date, we had to move to cottage. I remembered when I checked in, receptionist said the whole cottage was £88, but finally they charge me the superior club room price! How the superior room same as poor condition and tiny bathroom cottage? So I need money back. Because the cottage wasn't worh nearly £200!!!!!!

Review 28:we found it hard to find even with the Sat' Nav'.Look for the sign for Orchardleigh Golf Course.

Review 29:Beautiful house and grounds, wonderful welcome from Jean, lovely large room, all staff very helpful, excellent breakfast. we would love to stay again on our next visit.

Review 30:The owner if the house is very friendly and trusting and encourages you to basically treat his home as if it were ur own. Me and my gf enjoyed a few drinks in the snooker room most night. Our room was nice and spacious. The bed was massive and very comfortable.

Review 31:Staying at Orchardleigh House is like travelling back in time, into another world. It's quite an exquisite experience to walk through the stately old rooms, enjoy the view from your bedroom, walk the beautiful grounds. The staff is very friendly, breakfast generous, the space anything but crowded.

Review 32:Nothing

Review 33:Relaxed, comfortable and staff were lovely. We went to Longleat first, then spent one night here before visiting Wookey Hole the next day. This is in an ideal location for visiting both attractions. Breakfast was fabulous.

Review 34:Beautiful friendly place with an all round good feeling. The bedrooms are clean and the house itself is beautiful, original features and inviting. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by the staff who showed us around the house with an informal pride, inviting us to use any of the living areas if we choose. I loved the personal touch of emailing i received when I made the original booking, it gave me the opportunity to request all three rooms be together if possible which they accommodated. If this wasn't enough we had a good dinner recommendation in the local town and a lovely breakfast the following morning with home made sausages, set us up for the day. My five year old nephew has ask to stay for 6 more nights as he loved it so much.

Review 35:We had a lovely stay. My two young girls thought it was a magical place to stay. Great views, and a great quiet getaway. We all loved our stay. We hope to go back.

Review 36:Nothing. We would go there again and wish them all the best.

Review 37:New bed and breakfast venture for the owners which meant that we were the only guests for our first night - felt like lords of the manor in our own stately home! Freedom to explore the house and gardens at will, play a game of snooker, and sit out on the patio watching the sun go down. Beautiful setting, friendly staff and a fabulous breakfast. Close to lovely pub 'The Bell' in nearby Buckland Dinham with friendly welcome, excellent food and relaxed atmosphere.

Review 38:The place is perfect, golf! wake up and see that beautiful and peaceful place was great! The service so nice! you can feel as at home but in a castle!

Review 39:Couldn't believe our luck to stay in such a traditional Manor. They have recently turned some outside buildings into rooms and they were spacious, comfortable and nicely decorated. Absolutely faultless. My favourite stay after 50 days of travelling and hotels.
