Reviews for Richmond House

Review 1:Nicky and Dylan at Richmond House were very friendly and helpful. We were greeted as we approached the front door on arrival and they couldn't have been more pleasant. The room and facilities were excellent as was the breakfast, which all made for a great stay, and would certainly go again in the future if we were visiting Barmouth.

Review 2:Could have done with an iron, I'm sure there would have been one if we asked, but no one was in at the time we realised we needed it.

Review 3:Had the family suite for two of us, top floor to ourselves, great view of the beach and sea. Right in centre of town so easy access to restaurants, shops and pubs! Great breakfast and really nice owners, very relaxed place.

Review 4:The house on entry smelt like an older building i.e. old library.

Review 5:Very convenient location. Could just park up and leave the car to go and look around Barmouth. Good breakfasts with a lovely view.

Review 6:All the stairs (no lift). This is OK for the younger generation but unfortunately not for disabled guests especially those who had the family suite. Only one chair in room.

Review 7:Nicky & Dylan were friendly & helpful hosts giving us a warm welcome especially on arrival after a long journey with a cup of tea and coffee. Tasty breakfasts with local produce. Beautiful views.

Review 8:Only that we stayed one day!

Review 9:Everything! Was welcomed from the moment we parked untill we left. Fantastic couple that put the H in hospitality. Wonderful hotel great location and had a fantastic view.

Review 10:Only had a 2 days here but LOVED it. The sun shone (!) and the location and short walk to the beach and the best fish and chips we have EVER had was totally brilliant. My son had the major blues leaving...he felt completely at home, owners and 2 bed apartment were lovely, there was nothing too much trouble for us. We all wanted to stay longer. Would definitely return if coming to the area again.

Review 11:Nothing!

Review 12:Very friendly and helpful hosts and a beautiful place. Very big room with a sea view and central location. Very comfy beds and new decoration. We had a quite a laugh with them and they helped us with several questions. It was like staying with some old friends. Will definitely book again.

Review 13:Our tv didn't seem to work but that could have been us just not using our brains! I'm certain if I had let the owners know they would have resolved it!

Review 14:Great location super friendly fabulous breakfast! Really great find!

Review 15:A warm and friendly place to stay, that applies to the hosts as well as the house. Good value for money; you are amazingly close to the beach and town is on the other side of the door. And it's very close to the train station too if you don't fancy driving. It is quiet, the rooms are clean and fresh and the extra attention to detail from the hosts, like popping out to get soya milk, made our stay enjoyable and relaxed. I'd completely recommend this to anyone wanting to get away from the hustle-bustle of life and be looked after by wonderful couple. Thank you so much Nicky & Dylan.

Review 16:This guesthouse is amazing! It has a beautiful beach view and 2 min walk to the beach. The back door leads you out to the middle of the town centre. The staff are very friendly and would do anything for you. The room we stayed in (Snowdon) was very spacious and has a large bathroom! It was very clean and breakfast was superb! Very recommended!!

Review 17:Friendly welcome from Nicky, one of the owners who made us a drink on arrival in the lovely lounge and showed the kids where the board games and DVDs can be found. We had the attic room which was lovely and airy, absolutely immaculate and very comfy. Nice bathroom with bath and shower which was ideal for showering the kids off after a day on the beach. The bedroom had a jar of coffee, array of teabags and chocolate bars! Breakfast was great, the dining room overlooks the beach and the food and service were 5 star. On the first morning we asked for some tabasco sauce, they didn't have any but offered alternatives. On the second morning when we arrived at breakfast there was a bottle of tabasco on the table, very nice of them to go the extra mile and very appreciated. The location is fab, the high street is out the front door, the beach out the back. We were lucky with the weather and enjoyed two full days at the beach but if the weather wasn't too good, we would have been fine being cosy in this lovely home. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

Review 18:The staff were absolutely lovely. She helped us with places to eat and to visit. Also we felt like if we needed anything we could ask. I have never felt so welcome than I have staying here. The room was amazing with a view of the hills and also done to a very high standard and the bathroom was massive with a bath and separate shower. Breakfast was also lovely and we were sat with a sea view.

Review 19:Could have done with an Air Conditioner, but that was a good problem to have considering the Welsh weather around Barmouth.

Review 20:Friendly hosts. Nice room and spacious. Nice breakfast. Location is very good. View of the sea from our window (the Bala room). Very clean also.

Review 21:Apart from fairly bad wi-fi connection, nothing at all to complain about.

Review 22:Owners were very friendly, greeted me on driveway. They made sure i was happy & comfortable for all of my stay. Very comfy room, it really did feel like a home away from home. Great location. Brilliant value. Would definitley stay here again.

Review 23:Lovely welcoming family, with a great house. Beautiful rooms and in a great location. I couldn't recommend it enough. We will definitely be staying there again I we are ever to return to Barmouth.

Review 24:We liked absolutely everything about Richmond House. The owners were lovely, our room was spotless and very comfortable and we were provided with fresh milk. The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. We will definitely stay here again.

Review 25:On arrival we were welcomed and instantly felt relaxed and at ease. My daughter Lara aged 3 really loved staying here and really didn't want to leave. The room we stayed in was fab for the two of us and the bathroom was very spacious with bath and shower. We will definitely be returning but with my partner and son too next time. The owners was more than helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Fab service. Thank you :)

Review 26:The room was fantastic, comfy and modern, the bathroom was spotless and had beautiful facilities. Then the breakfast was delicious, with a range of options to please everyone.

Review 27:Stunning Guest House, with modest access from the High Street, but a superb frontage looking out over the beach. Helpful friendly owner with knowledge of local walks.Spacious modern but classic sea-view rooms.

Review 28:Nothing! Even the fact that we were on the second floor was totally lost by the stunning views!!!! Worth the 4 short flights of comfortable stairs - made even easier by our hosts taking up our luggage!! Thank you both!

Review 29:The owners were very welcoming and friendly and we left feeling that we had made friends for life!!. We felt that they were genuinely interested in us as people not 'customers'. Nothing was too much trouble. We will definitely return and recommend it to everyone we know. Loved the central location and safe parking on site. Fabulous natural garden too!

Review 30:Nothing

Review 31:Warm welcome, friendly helpful owners. Comfortable accommodation, located in centre of town, with own car park. Breakfast was simply excellent.

Review 32:No bad experience.

Review 33:We liked the large, clean room with excellent ensuite. The view through the window was pleasant and you could see the sea and the headland south of the estuary.

Review 34:Truly friendly and helpful hosts who made us very welcome. Spacious, spotlessly clean bedroom + en suite bathroom. Good location for town, beach or Mawddach Bridge. Tasty breakfast with lots of choice.

Review 35:The breakfast was a little heavy, even for a fry up

Review 36:The location was perfect, both near the beach and the town. The room was spacious and the bed comfy. The hosts were great and offered good suggestions for places to visit on the way home.

Review 37:The suite containing two bedrooms and separate bathroom was perfect for us with our two children. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and most of all is located in a great location with private parking. The nearby beach is beautiful and there are lots of things to see and do nearby.

Review 38:Nicky was very friendly and couldn't of asked for a better host. The room was lovely and spacious and the bed was fabulous. All in all I would go back and stay at Richmond House in a heart beat. It was so chilled there just what we both needed.

Review 39:Great location. Lovely warm welcome, very friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were very well furnished and decorated. Beds comfy. Bathroom was amazing with lovely organic toiletries. Breakfast was superb!

Review 40:Excellent central safe location with car parking. Great welcome from Vikky and Dylan and excellent recommendation for our evening meal. Super views from our bedroom "Snowdon" and from the breakfast room where we had a terrific meal to start the day.

Review 41:We loved everything about our stay from start to finish,we were made very welcome . Very tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean . Very knowledgeable about the surrounding area, really enjoyed our chats xluxury

Review 42:A superb location, in the heart of Barmouth, with amazing sea views. From the minute we arrived, our hosts made us feel welcome, and ensured that our stay with them was perfect. Fantastic breakfasts, clean, modern and very comfortable accomodation. Richmond House is an ideal hotel for families, and great value for money. We would highly recomend.

Review 43:Richmond house is a beautiful old building with lots of character, but the rooms are very modern with excellent facilities. The proprietors have created a very warm and welcoming atmosphere, and in terms of value for money this place cannot be faulted. Highly recommended.

Review 44:I honestly have nothing bad to say . I always enjoy my stay there.

Review 45:a true home away from home, I have stayed at Richmond house a few times now & will definately be going back again. The rooms are immaculate and the beds are the comfiest I have stayed in. On this occasion we stayed in the room called "Bala" the bed is huge and the shower is lovely. Previously stayed in the family room which was also of a high standard. The full cooked English breakfast is perfect and delicious & the hosts are friendly & helpful.

Review 46:We were made to feel at home as soon as we arrived! the rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable breakfast choices were great would reccomend this Hotel!

Review 47:Greeted by a very friendly couple who instantly tried to settle us in to our rooms. Breakfast options and quality were perfect. Beds and bathroom facilities excellent

Review 48:Very friendly owners- with good local knowledge. very comfy room overlooking the sea and large light bathroom. Super breakfast to start our day of walking along the Mawddach estuary

Review 49:Nothing really can't think of anything.

Review 50:everything and we hope to go back again. Location in town was handy. Everything was clean & tidy. Breakfast was excellent . You know that a lot of time and effort has gone into making sure guests are 100% happy when they stay.

Review 51:Fantastic hotel. The owners are very friendly and came to meet us when we arrived around 6ish in the dark. The inside of the hotel is very spacious. Rooms are large with a big bed. Rooms very clean and fresh with lovely fluffy towels. The breakfast full English or sorry Welsh was very tasty, plenty to eat and drink would recommend to friends etc....

Review 52:getting a speeding ticket on the A496 on the way home!!!

Review 53:Great hosts, we were having a chat when we were leaving and it felt like we'd known them for years! Excellent breakfast with a view overlooking the sea. Really helpful with local information, will use the B&B in future for some mountain biking as they have contacts in a local centre.

Review 54:We received a warm welcome from Nicky and her husband and nothing was to much trouble.. The breakfast was amazing and we had the top floor which was beautifully furnished and beds were divine!! I would recommend this lovely hotel

Review 55:The weather was cold, rainy, and windy. But what do you expect for Wales in November!

Review 56:Great location! Dylan & Nicki were so friendly and helpful to help us enjoy the area. Highly recommend this B&B.

Review 57:Wifi wasn't strong, could connect but nothing would work that needed Internet. Other than that, can not fault!

Review 58:Lovely hotel, right by the beach front. Warm welcome by lovely owners! Comfy homely rooms, spacious. Could of easily stopped a lot longer!

Review 59:My only comment (as everything else was excellent) was that the full English breakfast option was huge (good thing) but when I scaled it down to a couple of items from the extensive list I was disappointed with the qty of that item (1/2 tomato). I would stay again though but would be specific when ordering Brekky!

Review 60:Our stay at Richmond house was fantastic from start to finish. Excellent hosts who were there if you needed anything but also gave you the privacy to come and go as you pleased. We stayed in the Snowdon room which was very comfortable with an excellent sea view. The breakfasts were delicious and very filling, one of the best breakfasts we have had compared to other B and Bs. Overall a fantastic stay. We will certainly be visiting again when we are next in Barmouth.

Review 61:The weather :)

Review 62:Everything, the owners were friendly, the house was brilliant, had a really good weekend and would recommend it to anyone, would definitely stay again!

Review 63:Nothing - apart from stairs -which is not their fault and stairs are everywhere - no lifts (escalators) in old Welsh buildings!!

Review 64:Barmouth is a small town with wonderful coastal and mountain views - everything is a 10-15 min walk away. Very quiet after 11pm. Hotel very central with own car park but plenty of car parking nearby. Nicky the owner along with her husband Dylan couldn't be more helpful and accommodating - excellent in all ways - she even brewed a pot of coffee for my wife on our arrival so she could sit on their beautiful lounge overlooking the sea and chill out. Couldn't recommend a better B & B experience!

Review 65:Would have been good to have a TV in the family twin room. But seriously not a real issue as you shouldn't be spending too much time indoors!!

Review 66:Very friendly family run guest house. Excellent breakfast, already told my friends on Facebook. Perfect location. Fresh milk provided automatically for tea/coffee, not mini cartons of UHT.

Review 67:Its not actually a dislike more of a minor issue. The door to the Snowdon room was a little difficult to open. A little needs to be taken off the door as it catches on the carpet quite badly.

Review 68:Great Breakfast Great views ( sea view room) Lovely bath and hand towels. Nice owners Couldn't be better located.

Review 69:The location was perfect - about a 3 minute walk from the beach, with sea views; bedroom was spacious and beds were really comfortable; staff were welcoming and helpful.

Review 70:If you want to eat out somewhere decent in Barmouth during busy holidayperiods, it's essential to book ahead. Ask B&B owners foradvice on this.

Review 71:Excellent hospitality, accommodation and location. Our third visit andwon't be our last.

Review 72:There wasn't anything to dislike

Review 73:Greeted with a warm welcome offered tea or coffee in the lounge very friendly gave information about traffic when travelling and where to eat.. Excellent breakfast and room always left a jug of fresh milk in your room when you came back in the afternoon. Well recommended.

Review 74:Very helpful hosts. Nothing too much trouble. Made very welcome,Food excellant also very central position with great views over the bay and near to all amenities etc.

Review 75:Felt it was very expensive for a bed and breakfast as one can get a room/breakfast in many a hotel for the same price with all the added facilities a hotel can offer. Housekeeping as far as dusting surfaces etc. needs to be tackled as this in our opinion lowered our rating of your establishment.

Review 76:Location and parking facilities and nice touch offering guests refreshments upon arrival. Nice white soft towels and sheets. A good choice for breakfast.

Review 77:Room 3 at the front of the house was very noisy. Window was open for ventilation, and I'm a sound sleeper, but was woken three times by street noise and bins being positioned. This room also poor view (sea views are on other side). TV in room was tiny. Impossible to connect to wifi on my two mobile devices, due to stupidly complex log in procedure not optimised for small screens. Was OK on laptop. Breakfast was OK, but stuck on table away from the picture window. Owner kept offering me toast even though I told him three times I didn't want it. Would not recommend for business travel, felt like a second class citizen.

Review 78:Nice young couple running this B&B, in a nicely proportioned and well appointed Victorian building

Review 79:The B&B is in a great location. We had a 4 bed room, which had two separate bedrooms and a shower/bath. The facilities were great and the rooms were very clean. Coffee/tea and chocolates were provided. The rooms had a view over the beach and the ocean and it was just beautiful. Breakfast in the morning was a Welsh breakfast which was absolutely delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful and would definitely recommend this B&B to family and friend and would also stay there in the future.

Review 80:Could have done with a TV/DVD in the kids room but that certainly is not a criticism.

Review 81:Location, hospitality, friendliness, cleanliness, wifi, comfort, surroundings.
