Reviews for L'Âme du Gourmand
Review 1:staff very friendly, rooms decorated really well. very pretty and great location. rented bikes to see Mont St Michel from property - was great! breakfast was the best we had in france.
Review 2:I would advise you to ask for a room with separate bathroom. As we had.
Review 3:The hosts were very ready to help us with an itinerary of the region. Breakfast was delightful!
Review 4:Nothing
Review 5:The couple who own the place could not have been nicer or more helpful. Modern yet full of character and well-located. We opted for the prix fixed dinners which were delicious, copious and bargain-priced. Breakfasts were fantastic.
Review 6:We were looking for an overnight stay that was clean and affordable for a family of 4. Didier's charming place exceeded expectation. Our accommodation was a 3 room spotless suite with 2 bedrooms and a bath. The kids each had their own bed. Get dinner with Didier! He made one of the best meals we had in France. Clearly, he is proud of his cooking. His chicken was the best I had and he served 3 different wines with each course. It was truly a treat! Stay here! You will love it! Short drive to MSM,not more than 5 minutes.
Review 7:Family house, with a very friendly and helpful couple. One block from the main street of the small town, where the main restaurants are located ... and 9 km from Mont Saint Michel. It looks like a doll house! A pearl! Respect the check in time... after trat you will receive the keys of the main door and your room! The breakfast is included and very special. Parking in front. Good wi-fi.
Review 8:The walls are pretty thin, and you could hear people talking in the next room. Be aware that the shower and sink were right there in the room with only a curtain for privacy. Not a problem for us, but people should be aware.
Review 9:Excellent location, with easy driving access to Mont St Michel. Very clean and comfortable and the host was extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast came with fresh yogurt and homemade jam and farm fresh eggs!
Review 10:nothing
Review 11:Very clean, spacious room, friendly attentive hosts and delicious breakfast. More than willing to help in any way. Pontorson is a good base for visiting the Mont and the villages around the bay.
Review 12:The owners really care about you having a wonderful time - even if you are only staying for one night! We wanted to stay longer but had to keep going according to our plans. Didie made me fresh coffee even though I was the last one to get up :) Now THAT'S special - Did I mention specially made scrambled eggs? Oh. And a pool...
Review 13:Weather was awful so we couldnt use the pool. Attic family room has few windows although for one night that didnt really matter.
Review 14:Excellent hospitality, really homely. Good selection of teas and coffees available and breakfast was delicious with lots of homemade goodies. Good location for Mont St MIchel , away from crowds but really near.
Review 15:We had the family rooms upstairs. There would appear to be a damp issue up there as we used the shower before going to dinner which made the place smell very musty (almost mouldy) for the rest of the night.
Review 16:It was very easy to find, the owner was very welcoming and the breakfast was great.
Review 17:1. Don't expect proper ensuite facilities, what you get are two small boxes installed in the room, one for toilet and the other for shower, most awkward and no privacy at all. 2. Sound proof is non-exist, one can hear absolutely everything going on in the house from people walking on the staircase to talking or coughing next door. 3. Among all the guests sitting around the breakfast table, the owner decided to ask only in his own language to some of them, that would they like extra options, and others just had to choose from what were on the table. Very laughable attitude.
Review 18:Location
Review 19:Extremely hospitable and welcoming owners and quality rooms. You can see and feel the quality, the thought and the care that everything was given, from the originally and beautifully decorated rooms to the unforgettable house-made breakfast. And the owners are absolutely adorable, they really go out of their way make your stay as enjoyable as possible! Great location too, super close to the Mont-Saint-Michel and conveniently located to access important roads.
Review 20:The location is good. It took less than 10 minutes from pontorson train station by work and I could find it easy. The room was nice, clean, cosy and I like a antic room interior. The host was kind.
Review 21:I had to pay my 5 years old son's breakfast. I don't think that was too harsh but anyhow it was the first time I had payed since I started to travel Europe countries. Furthermore, this hotel's policy says "all children are welcome". Other than that, everything was perfact.
Review 22:I stayed at family room. Consider this. Enough space with lovely decolation, easy to visit Mont.st.Michel, nice breakfast, soft bed, spacious bath room,,,most of all, kind host.
Review 23:We were happy with the accommodation as it fit our budget. We enjoyed the bikes to get to Mont Saint Michel and the breakfast with homemade yogurt was exceptional.
Review 24:It was a little warm in the rooms. We had one fan for both us and our sons. It would be nice to have a fan for both rooms
Review 25:The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was great. The owner was very friendly. We also played some board games in our room. The place was very comfortable and a wonderful place to stay.
Review 26:Slightly odd en-suite facilities.
Review 27:Very friendly, relaxed atmosphere. If you are cycling, they have secure storage. Good breakfast with local specialities.

Review 55:Lightening in rooms to be improved. Small TV
Review 56:Nice swimming pool to refresh! Good home-made breakfast and nice owners
Review 57:The toilet which had a curtain around it in our room. We assume it was there when you took over the property and will be doing some work on it during the quieter winter months.
Review 58:Everything apart from opposite. You were both very friendly and the breakfast was delicious, thank you for your hospitality. Val and Derek - cyclists High Peak England
Review 59:Make sure you ask for the internet wifi key; we were so overwhelmed by the excellent dinner which was being served to the other guests as we arrived, and the long day we'd had, we forgot, and ddidn't feel like getting dressed to go ask for it later on. ;) (Not much to not like!)
Review 60:If you come here, you MUST also eat the dinner and the breakfast, with typical local ingredients. The very reasonably fixed-priced dinner was a French gourmand's delight with local apéritifs, hors d'oeuvres (called the entrée in France!), main dish with vegetable, cheese--each course with its own wine-- followed by dessert, after dinner drinks, and coffee. Eat/drink whichever you like; there's no expectation you will be able to handle it all. ;) The rooms in this former private home are charming and basic country-French, perfectly adequate. There's a covered pool if you like. Your host and hostess and their children are very welcoming and very accomodating; it's like you're visiting long-lost friends. You're minutes from Le-Mont-St-Michel, whose views astound the closer you get; you'll be driving through the wonderful rural Normand countryside, and pass an old mill.
Review 61:The rooms are super quaint. The design is a study in space efficiency. Breakfast was great and included. Parking was free. Location is only 10k from Mont St-Michel.
Review 62:Everything else. No answer / access when we arrived at 4:30 pm. Had to phone the number given to be told the premises only opens from 5:00 pm. (Were we told that?!). We had an appalling room with an open toilet with a curtain ... !!! As a frequent user of Bookings.com, I am disappointed that you include such inferior accommodation on you list. A dreadful experience; we cancelled the second night stay. Irish tourist.
Review 63:Friendliness and cleanliness all OK.
Review 64:Lovely couple are fantastic hosts. We're very accommodating. Great breakfast, cozy room. Perfect stopping spot. Super location if visiting Mont St. Michel.
Review 65:The owner went out of his way to accommodate us and our needs.
Review 66:The washroom is within the room area with only a curtain separating it from the rest of the room!! no privacy.
Review 67:breakfast
Review 68:the owners were very very kind! we thank them!
