Reviews for Hotel Turan
Review 1:Was quite a walk from the main town and the beds were very lumpy and the pillows too high and hard, so didn't sleep the best
Review 2:Very clean, lovely staff
Review 3:I was only there 3 nights and only the last night there was a huge commotion with a group of drunk french lads that woke the entire hotel up from 0200 until 0030. There was many complaining guests and confrontation. It appears there were no staff available at that time in the night to manage the situation which led to some heated exchanges between annoyed guests and the very drunk (and stupid) lads. I was utterly unimpressed as I was getting up at 0630 to leave that morning.
Review 4:Staff were friendly, location close to a ski lift was excellent and the resort of itself offers great skiing. Even though the hotel is off the main high street it is only a 10 walk and a free shuttle bus is available every 15 minutes to take you into town.
Review 5:The staff were the best part of this hotel, always helpful and willing to go that little bit further. I liked my room and the food was better than expected considering the price
Review 6:1. Location of the hotel is unreachable - very hard to find out where is it, despite the signs 2. Room service!! Everyday I was to open the door for the annoying knocking at 9 in the morning and to discuss - what time the girls are to be back!! Once I did this even naked! Despite they enter the room by themself even if you answer from the closed door! 3. Breakfast is cold and so-so - only warm are the drinks. The places are numbered and mine were always placed just in front of the row, where everybody pick up the dishes. Last 2-3 days it was not served for me until I catch the waiter and made him to 4. The room is extremely small and has window = door to the balcony with no curtain! At the 2nd floor to the street view I was always available to be watched from outside!
Review 7:Place - it's really in 2 metres from the slope! Literally - just in front of the door Ski room - it's useful and sticks for booties are sometimes warm Bed is nice
Review 8:We had a 4-bed bedroom. Two were real beds and relatively comfortable (except for hard and thick pillows, but the other two were really an uncomfortable sofa-bed. This was really a shame in an otherwise very good service for the price. The hotel lacks some character and warmth. A few decorations would have helped. The time for breakfast and dinner too restrictive (8-9am for breakfast and a couple of hours for dinner).
Review 9:Very good value for money. The hotel is basic but clean and overall comfortable. The personnel is outstandingly kind. The pistes are just out of the door. The food was basic but abundant and appetizing.
Review 10:Can not use the wifi at all during peak hours (i.e. evening and breakfast time) Bit far away from the main resort area but it is ok with the shuttle bus which is few steps down from the hotel.
Review 11:View from the Balcony Room Size Cleanliness Their dinner buffet is very good.. may be even better than the 4 stars hotel i stayed in the resorts before
Review 12:The food is awful and that's being polite!! After a day skiing you look forward to a hearty meal, and that is one thing that's not supplied by the chef. Food is served raw on 3 nights out of 6 and the other 3 nights, the food was tasteless! If you book this hotel then don't go Half Board because you're better off going out for dinner in one of the many restaurants within the village.
Review 13:The staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel and rooms are clean with housekeeping coming in each day to clean. The hotel is right next to the Village Ski lift which is fabulous after a great day on the slopes.
Review 14:In the room, someone left an old pizza in the fridge that was collecting mold, and there were hairs on the bed, so they can definitely improve on cleanliness.
Review 15:Dinner was worth the price of the accommodation itself. You get a buffet bar of appetizers, followed by two main courses (not one or the other, but both!) and a desert. I eat a lot, especially after skiing, so the dinner was amazing. Breakfast however was nothing special.
Review 16:Tv didn't work
Review 17:Staff incredibly helpful!
Review 18:Interrupted sleep owing to club emptying but was sorted by management
Review 19:Staff and service
Review 20:Very hard pillows and food a little unusual
Review 21:Free parking and closeness to lifts for skiing
Review 22:Only Toast @ breakfast Wifi needs upgrade
Review 23:Value / Money - very good Ski lift @ 5 meters Parking @ 5 meters
Review 24:Breakfast was poor
Review 25:Bed was comfy
Review 26:Dinner of medium-low quality
Review 27:Availability of parking place Proximity to the ski area (very close!)
Review 28:Nice hotel in very good location, very friendly staff, covered free parking under the hotel, chair lift right outside the hotel, good breakfast
Review 29:Value for money, you cannot find a better place to stay in Les Deux Alpes.
Review 30:bathroom has moulds , not clean, very small rooms.
Review 31:nothing specific about hotel , good location to take cable car to go upto glacier, fine enough for backpackers and students
Review 32:Small details like a cup In the bathroom , somewhere to put your toothbrush and hooks to hang damp skiwear on and rathere than stool by the bed a chest of draws or more storage would have made life easier as 5 sharing a room
Review 33:Excellent staff, though basic in room standard they were comfortable and clean , with a balcony . Breakfast was good although not a vast choice but for the overall price good . We went for half board as it made life easy , the food was good with plenty of variety and something to suit everybody, boot room worked a treat and leads you straight out to a chair lift avoiding ques for the big lifts , as a family would definitely go again .
Review 34:Could use a few more panels to indicate where to park the car to reach the hotel. The 1800 part of the station is rather far from the 1650 one where most of the pubs/restaurants are.
Review 35:Very friendly and kind staff Very good value for money Very close to ski slopes ( 20m ) Globally a very good spot
Review 36:Hotel decoration was minimal, rooms we're very basic, shower pressure very low and sink not flowing properly.
Review 37:Excellent location, breakfast and dinner.
Review 38:Very Basic Breakfast Leaking Shower With Bad Dampness Smell on back of bathroom wall WATER TEMP - Terrible, either scalding or sub-zero. Continually fluctuating. Unable to shower kids for complete week.
Review 39:Duvets Room Size (For Ski Accommodation)
Review 40:We stayed in a 4 person room, which was pretty small (but since we spend the time outdoors, it didn't matter to us)
Review 41:Excellent value for money. Good breakfast, clean rooms, good beds.
Review 42:A bugger to get to as you have to park underneath the hotel and walk tofind the hotel entrance.Mastic in the shower poor and looked ugly
Review 43:Good value, friendly helpful staff.good clean bed linen
Review 44:Considering the price... Nothing negative to say.
Review 45:Stayed during the Marmotte. They put on an early breakfast which was more than adequate, tasty and filled us for the day ahead. Great location in les deux alps with lots of resturants nearby. free parking, and cycling distance from the start of the Marmotte!! Definitely use the hotel again!!! Bargain and friendly staff!!
Review 46:Pillows were too flat, no neck support which mate sleep quality not top notch. Boot room needs an update, was waterlogged after a day of skiiing, walking through puddles after taking off your boots ain't fun.
Review 47:Great staff, even if they looked tired, very friendly and helpful. Fantastic location, literally behind the lift. Good facilities, heated towel racks really useful, and warm comfy rooms
Review 48:Room a bit spartan and bed not hugely comfortable. System for reserving own table at mealtimes not clear at first.
Review 49:Very convenient for ski hire, lift pass, and chairlift. Free covered parking. Good choice of (Italien-style) buffet food. Allowed to return to room on the afternoon of my last day in order to shower and change.
Review 50:Location was fantastic, car park directly below the hotel, ski hire & place to buy the lift pass were within 20 metres, the chairlift (village) was within 10 metres!! And you can ski back to the hotel. The room was fine for 4 guys, comfy beds with quilts & the bathroom even had 2 sinks for synchronised teeth brushing!! The food for breakfast was what you'd expect from a continental breakfast, coffee, tea, juice, cereal, croissants & bread with cheese, ham & jams. In the evening dinner was usually soup, two different pasta dishes, a meat dish , assorted veg & salad followed by a dessert. The spa was an added bonus, the sauna & jacuzzi were great but the steam room smelt a tad wrong. All in all I've been skiing a many times & this was the best location & one of the most comfortable that I've stayed at.
Review 51:Location for main town is 10 min walk, use the lift outside the ham and cheese shop
Review 52:Great location with board to hotel. Comfy rooms and beds with a decent breakfast, free wi fi and board/ski lockers. Good bar over the square and a 4 man chair at the back door.
Review 53:Food is basic, but fine, if sometimes a little cold.
Review 54:Staff friendly and very helpful. Very good location in Les deux alpes 1800 - although a little away from the centre of town. Ski lift right behind the hotel and can ski to the back door.
Review 55:Would like to have had tea/coffee available in the room.
Review 56:Having booked late on booking.com, we weren't sure what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised. Location is ideal for skiing. It is by the main 1800 chair - literally by the boot room door. There were never any queues at this, despite it being half term, whereas the main lifts in town always have big queues at peak tines. We might as well have had a private lift! You can also ski down to the hotel on either black or green runs. The boot room was also good, being kept clean and warm. We parked right by the hotel (underneath) for free for the week. The manager was friendly and spoke good English. Breakfast was very good. With plenty of food and a good variety. Rooms were clean and in good nick. We had 3 big blokes sharing a room (!) But were comfortable and had enough room. Rooms were quiet as well. Don't come here if loud nightlife is your thing. It's not the most luxurious place to stay on the slopes, but it is clean, functional and superbly positioned, representing outstanding value for money.
Review 57:Some doors could not be closed properly or opened far enough. The timersfor the overhead lights in the corridor and stairs were too quick toturn of the lights. My single room was rather spartan with nowhere tosit except the bed. There were no curtains for the one window, and as itwas on the first floor this was a bit uncomfortable. There could havebeen boiled eggs at breakfast.
Review 58:The location so close to the ski lift. The order of affairs which wasstreamlined towards a day in the slopes. Proper warm water and strengthon the shower.
Review 59:No English channels on TV
Review 60:Hotel staff were very friendly and happy to answer any questions. Fantastic view of the resort and mountians from my room. Very clean modern bathroom. The ski lift was just outside the back door from the free ski locker room. Ski hire and lift pass office next door. Free wifi throughout the hotel was speedy. Comfortable bar in hotel to relax in if cold outside. Quite at night as located just away from main resort. 10 minute walk to main town. Fantastic hotel will be visiting again.
Review 61:The food during our Christmas stay was fantastic for five nights varying between 4 and 6 course set dinners, however, the last two nights were a buffet which was rather basic and not sure which is the norm.
Review 62:-It was the most unfriendly, unwelcoming hotel my family & I have everhad the displeasure of staying at, and we are world travelers. -Afterenduring a 10+ hour trip from Dubai through Frankfurt on to Lyon, then a2 hour drive to the hotel, arriving at around 12:30 P.M. all we weregreeted with was, you can't check in until 2:00. -The hotel does notprovide a Shuttle Bus, so you are required to handle a booking of thaton your own, and expect to pay an extremely high rate for this service.-The breakfast consisted of ham, cheese & extremely dry bread everymorning. -We paid for a half-board stay the week we were there and themeals lacked flavor & were not kid-friendly. We ended up paying to goout for a couple of breakfasts, and 3 evening meals while we were theredue to this. -Not one of the hotel staff spoke to us the entire week wewere there. -We all were evacuated by fire alarm one evening due to aguest lighting an illegal substance in the stairway.- We were awoken 3 out of the 7 nights we were there at 3:00 a.m. due to a bunch of young, screaming, inconsiderate, French idiots that were leaving the bars that are oh so annoyingly close to the hotel. -It is not a conveniently close walk to the town. -The rooms consisted of four white walls, with no decoration of any kind with one closet and no where near enough space to unpack your suitcases when traveling as a family of four with winter clothing. -The morning we were departing at 5:30 a.m. when checking out the evening before we were not informed that we couldn't go out the front entrance as it was locked. The driver had to call a number and ask the manager how we could get out. This could have been avoided the evening prior when we checked out, had we been told what we needed to do. -I will close on this question with answer; Question: "Would we recommend Hotel Turan to anyone wanting to visit Les Deux Alps?" Answer: "NO!!"
Review 63:-The ski lift was conveniently located behind the hotel.
