Review 1：We had to change rooms , as we were given a family room with bunk beds and the double bed was small and no room on one side of bed , no bedside tables the receptionist seemed to. Think because we booked with booking .com we shouldn't expect to much, also had to pay £30 extra for a bath.

Review 3：On arrival, reception was like a deserted saloon in a wild west ghost town. Reception was friendly but was told swimming pool close with only 1 1/2 hour left at the end of the day. Twin room was rather cramp and boiling hot even with heating turned off due to a hot pipe running under bed! We had to leave windows open whilst freezing outside. Sliding door to bathroom jammed, handyman had to give it a hard push! Shower toilet and sink cramped into a narrow corridor width of approx 30 inches! Then told dining service closed! given 10% vouchers to various nearby eateries. We went out for dinner and on return, hotel car park was full with revellers to it's jazz event in the bar. Told car park is not reserved for hotel guests, on first come first serve! Must admit the best part of my stay at this hotel was driving out of its driveway.

Review 5：The staff are helpful and very attentive, the breakfast menu choices were excellent. The only downside was that our room was quite small but adequate for a short stay.

Review 18：The room was hot despite the radiator being cold and the source of the heat could not be found. Water pressure was low which meant the shower didn't function very well.

Review 19：Staff were friendly and courteous, hotel was clean and uncluttered, breakfast was good and it was nice not to have to park on the street. Live entertainment each night was a bonus.

Review 20：The showers were terrible. The lighting in the bedrooms was terrible! On the first morning we ordered the full montey breakfast. It arrived at our table in a matter of minutes. It had clearly been sitting in the kitchen for hours. Was awful the fried egg had a skin on it! After breakfast we walked back to our room and heard the reception staff moaning about people ordering a fried breakfast and leaving it all. Is it any wonder? The shower was either freezing cold or boiling hot. The shower wasn't anymore that a dribble. The bath room taps to the sink were both hot.

Review 22：The only issue was the shower/bath in my room water pressure was really bad, I struggled to have a shower because I had to cuddle up to the wall because it just dripped out. I would recommend a pole to extend the shower head out so its not directly up from the bath taps. not a real problem tho just a recommendation

Review 71：This hotel bills itself as a 4 star but it is far below the standard of any 4-star hotel I have been in for a quarter of a century. The furnishings are dated; the live music five times a week (some of it good, some of it simply awful) is too much, especially as there is no quiet lounge as an alternative (the lounge is next to the bar and music area); the bar has limited choice (& no island local cider or beer was offered); the breakfast is fully served, causing delays in delivery when the restaurant is busy and making it impossible to grab a light breakfast and head out for tourism quickly; dinner is offered on a 5-course basis, with no flexibility and pre-booking by c.10am necessary; the swimming pool hall was dirty on several days in a row, and the Jacuzzi did not work in the last few days; the pool table is falling apart; our bathroom had no washbasin (in the main room instead); the garden was in a poor state, with paving coming to pieces and a dangerous garden wall that was once part of a building (& dog mess next to the kid's swings was not picked up for a week!).

Review 72：The staff were excellent. Very helpful and flexible. The pool itself is a good size, it has a Jacuzzi and steam room; and the cooked breakfast is also very good. Bedrooms a reasonable size.

Review 73：the room was inferior and should have been for a single not a double there was no fire exit the stairs were so narrow that we had great difficulty in getting our suitcase up to our room the ceilings were so low because it was an attic room the door to our room did'nt fit properly so much so that at night we had to put a towel at the bottom because of the light coming in.

Review 81：Very old fashioned approach reminiscent of the notorious seaside landlady establishments of the past. There was actually a crowd control rope at the restaurant so no one could enter before the 8.15 appointed time for breakfast. My room was so hot and stuffy perhaps because it was above the kitchen. This did mean I know for a fact that breakfast was being cooked at 7am. This explains why the breakfast delivered on a plate 30secs after I ordered it was disgustingly congealed, clearly kept warm for well over an hour. I didn't know such poor practice still existed. Real blast from the past.

Review 122：The bed was very uncomfortable.Booked to stay for 3 nights and left a day early as couldn't face staying another night.My partner and I only got a few hours sleep on both nights due to hearing the people above are room.We stayed in room 160 and we could hear the room above go the toilet,watching tv.They stayed up very late and unfortunately could even hear them walking across there room with the noisey floor boards.I've never stayed in a hotel before where the walls have been so thin.Very disappointed that we paid for 3 nights a double room and a twin room and stayed just for two.

Review 129：Comfy bed, friendly staff, great breakfast, nice large pool, sauna, clean and good power shower. Perfect for staying while completing the IOW challenge with family. Oh and talented piano player in the bar at night.

Review 130：We were unhappy to have no choice over the evening meal which was always a five course meal. Whilst it was value for money, we did not want five courses every evening nor to pay for this. We therefore only ate this on one evening out of five. We found good value alternatives within walking distance, all of which offered a reasonably wide range of choices. However on these occasions the evenings were fine and warm. Had it been raining ( and windy !) our view of the week would have been very different.

Entertainment with music on 1960. Pay all the money for room when go in hotel on first day. Sauna is not working only if go to reception to turn on. Pressure of the water very poor.

Review 138：Rude, abrupt reception clerk. Old fashioned rooms, pewtred bathroom with over tap, weak shower. Hard bed with small tv's and no wifi reception in room. Minimal drink making facilities in room with minimal selection. No fridge. Broken wardrobe. Boasts internal swimming pool and gym. The gym is a very small normal room with 4 bits of random equipment filling it up. No tv, no music, no air con. No water in gym. The swimming pool facility is a separate building with a glorified storage cupboard to get changed in. The pool was ok, however the jacuzzi you need to pay extra for (not mentioned in advert) the sauna and solarium only work during certain hours and you need to leave the building go back to reception and ask for it to be turned on... Then, it takes 30 mins to warm up! We didn't bother!
