Reviews for Min y Mor Hotel

Review 1:- Breakfast - couldn't eat the meat. - Shower - was rarely hot, and when it was, it was scalding.

Review 2:Friendly staff, comfortable room and pleasant location.

Review 3:Very disappointed as had high hopes, but after paying the best part of £200 for our weekend stay the bed was broken and was uncomfortable, the duvet cover was ripped, and we had to run the water for 30 minutes before it was even remotely warm!

Review 4:Friendly staff, great location and great food

Review 5:The staff at breakfast as communication was lacking regarding where we had to sit. Our room was located in an extension where cleanliness was not paramount.

Review 6:Views of the property

Review 7:The bar service of a evening could have been better and waiter service for meals. It was confusing on whether to order at the bar or from our table.

Review 8:Reception was very welcoming. Great place to stay with our two dogs very close to the beach and a 10 min walk to the centre. Will be sure to visit again.

Review 9:Cost for the overall standard of hotel was poor, and the rooms were very tired/in need of modernisation with paper thin walls... Being able to hear the toilet in the adjoining room was not pleasant-nor was being woken in the early hours by talking in the room next door

Review 10:Location is fantastic

Review 11:car parking charges in town to high wasn't impressed, wouldn't go back in a hurry because of this reason, amusements machines need bringing into the 19th century let alone the 20th

Review 12:friendly staff, nice atmosphere, close to shops

Review 13:Room was a bit dated but was mostly clean apart from behind the bed on the skirting board, think this was because there wasn't a lot of room to move bed around. We only moved it to plug a bedside light in which was not working. Bathroom could have done with something to hang your towels on but was clean. The shower was VERY poor as we could not regulate the temperature at all it was either freezing cold or boiling hot which was very dangerous. Towels were good and toiletries ok.

Review 14:Staff were polite and pleasant, the karaoke on the Saturday evening was good fun and finished on time The food was excellent , so glad we didn't bother to walk down into town to eat !!!!! Walk into main town is about 8-10 minutes so position of hotel is good as is quiet. Would be happy to stay here again in a better room ( Ours had an issue with the shower ).

Review 15:Stayed here before. Location is excellent just yards from a fantastic beach. We have two medium size dogs who are always made welcome. Good service from happy staff.

Review 16:Central heating did not work room a little small. Very annoyed with noise from karaoke which went on until almost 1pm in the morning. Hotel seems to cater for locals rather than the paying guests. Avoid staying on Saturday nights.

Review 17:Ideal location for visiting surrounding areas

Review 18:No option for early breakfast, shower in room fell off the wall and couldn't be used on the first morning. No apology for this.

Review 19:Food in the bar area was good, staff were helpful and pleasant.

Review 20:Wedding on so could not use hotels facilities. Vert noisey until 2 in morning. Staff on booking in stated we were in room above bar and it would be loud and if we didn't want to stay we didn't have too!

Review 21:Fast food, great location.

Review 22:The room we had. Probably had the worst room in the hotel and it looked nothing like any of the photos on the website.

Review 23:It was clean which was the only thing it had going for it.

Review 24:Double Bed was to hard, windows were dirty on the outside, local customers using foul language in the bar area were familys were eating not good at all.the toilet broke twice!!

Review 25:Breakfast was excellent

Review 26:The room was great but the bed was so uncomfortable the hardest bed and pillows in the world...Did not sleep too good.

Review 27:The evening meals were excellent, which is good for us because I am vegeterian but my husband is not. The quality of the food was all down to the excellent chef and his staff. Thank you and well done.

Review 28:My wife reported smell of Damp in room, she was told someone would have a look; but never heard anything ever since. No discount or even an apology. What a disgrace never again and would not recommend this hotel to anyone. When we arrived to the hotel my wife, I and our 4 year old boy were made to wait for while in reception before checking in; not even a welcome hello or a smile...??? I know I am foreign as you guess from my name but my wife is English .. We were very disappointed..

Review 29:Location was great.

Review 30:Nothing to dislike.

Review 31:Located an easy walk from the busy area around the train station. Great food served in the restaurant. The rooms are comfortable and clean.

Review 32:Furniture in rooms clearly needed updating bathroom also needed updating.price per room should be lower if not updated

Review 33:How close to amenities and beach.

Review 34:The shower was not working properly -- the water was either too cold or too hot. No wifi in the rooms.

Review 35:We got a deluxe double room, iirc. It had a great view of the ocean and was one of the largest rooms I had seen during my trip to the UK.

Review 36:No shower in rooms, just a bath which isn't clear when booking. Fried breakfast wasn't very good. Rooms very small for a travel cot.

Review 37:Good bar, location and parking facility.

Review 38:Both reception staff had a 'couldn't care less' attitude - on arrival there was no welcome - let alone a smile and we had no offer (two women travelling alone) to carry our bags or to tell us where to go for breakfast and no mention of wifi. On departure, there was no smile or goodbye and thank you. At breakfast we had a cup missing and the room had stains on the door

Review 39:The location was excellent and the breakfast was tasty

Review 40:The bed and pillows were uncomfortable and I slept poorly. The cleaning staff were lazy and barely did much in the room. The breakfast was adequate but there could have been more choice.

Review 41:The staff were helpful and friendly. The food in the restaurant was fabulous although we did have a rather long wait. Excellent view of the sea!

Review 42:WiFi was poor, which is always inconvenient when staying more than one night.

Review 43:Good friendly hotel, great location, nice food relaxed atmosphere. Drinks were value for money.

Review 44:The breakfast room was a bit like an old peoples home . The bedroom was a good size but it was very tired and needed updating.

Review 45:The location of the hotel was great . The bed was very comfy. Free parking on site a bonus.

Review 46:Wifi was limited on first night so couldn't connect. Fine the rest of the stay though. Bathroom could have been a bit cleaner. Room could have been a touch cleaner too. Didn't bother me really but it might have bothered more fussy folk

Review 47:Great location right on the beach front. There's a beer garden at the front so you can sit outside and enjoy sea views while having a drink or eating.. The staff seemed friendly. I was expecting a single room but was surprised with a double and full bathroom at no extra cost when checking in. They did send me an email before my journey, offering me the upgrade for an extra £28. But I ignored it and got the upgrade for nowt anyway. Double room was a good size, bed comfy, loads of extra pillows, and towels. Plenty of storage and two seats, dressing table, a 32 inch Sony LCD with Freeview, and of course that proper bathroom. Public areas are good with three sofa seating in the reception, leading through to a bar room with TV, with two seperate pool/snooker rooms with seating. Lounge has three sofas, two seats and a smaller bar, and leads onto the restaurant. No idea what the breakfast is like because I went out before breakfast. Btw, the main bar and pool rooms, and beer garden are open to the public. Simple checking in and out too.

Review 48:Bathroom needs a little attention but not too bad.

Review 49:Friendly and helpful staff. Ideal location especially with us having a dog too. Public areas nicely done.

Review 50:First visit and will definatly be returning ,staff very pleasant especially Julian .First time in Barmouth , enjoyed it very much shame the weather wasn't good has didn't get to go on the beach .

Review 51:Some sort of mechanical noise (pump? air conditioning?) was going all the time outside the window, but I was too tired for that to stop me sleeping.

Review 52:I arrived when the bar and staff were very busy but they made time to be helpful.

Review 53:Room wasn't as nice as expected, sound of machinery was a pain when window open.

Review 54:Located on the promenade close to all facilities. Nice bar and dining room, friendly staff

Review 55:The hotel overlooks the bay. There was a good choice of breakfast and really friendly staff. I would stay here again. Free car parking is an extra bonus.

Review 56:I wake early so I have to wait a few hours till 8.30am to enjoy the lovely breakfast menu available . Thats the only small gripe I have. But I will always go back there anyway. :)

Review 57:LOCATION, BEACH ON THE FRONT WITH THE BLUE SEA TO ENJOY, THE MOUNTAINS IN VIEW, FOOD, DRINKS, ROOM CLEANLINESS, STAFF ARE FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL. 3rd visit and will be back again. :) Love the place.

Review 58:flushing drains outside window persistently rather annoying but they have to flush somewhere don't they

Review 59:easy access, all on one level, nice big breakfast room with plenty of choice, evening meals, friendly staff - all good

Review 60:We were very lucky to be given a room with a wonderful sea view. All the staff were friendly and efficient. The food was just delicious and well presented - good value for money too. We will definately stay here again.

Review 61:Breakfast service uncoordinated nobody greeting guests showing them to tables resulting in people sitting on any table not matching room numbers causing confusion.Waiting staff not trained or managed properly. Quality and presentation of food at breakfast not as good as mid day and evening food. Found bar and reception staff friendlier than waiting staff.

Review 62:Bistro dining area lovely but appeared very under used ,much more pleasant than the main dining room which was very 'school dining hall' in appearance. Evening Meal menu and the food lovely. Very clean Fabulous lady greeting us at reception friendly and welcoming probably Manageress?

Review 63:The bathroom in room 25 was not in a good state. The toilet seat is damaged/replacement required, and the overflow outlet needs cleaning.Shower head and riser bar are from different units and are incompatible so angle of shower cannot be determined. Sealant around bath is unclean and needs redoing.

Review 64:Breakfast and all Staff.

Review 65:Limited wifi Hot water hit and miss in shower. Sunday evening menu was the same as for Sunday lunch Room 5 noisy at times'

Review 66:Excellent location Comfortable rooms Excellent staff

Review 67:The room (3) is at the back of the hotel next to the staircase. The window opens onto roof-space but has significant noise from fans and chillers probably used in the kitchens below. The en-suite only had a bath... no shower. Staff were sometimes hard to find. The reception desk was left unmanned, and breakfast was only available for 1 hour, and seemed more like a race against the clock to get everyone processed, than a relaxed and enjoyable start to your day.

Review 68:Fantastic location opposite the samdy beach, with all that Barmouth offers right on your doorstep. Easy, convenient parking.

Review 69:I had a single room and my view was the fire escape/roof area. Also no shower, bath only which took sometime to fill.

Review 70:Friendly staff. Food was excellent. Bed was very comfortable.

Review 71:After 10pm you can hear a noise in your room of drunk people

Review 72:right at the seafront, I enjoyed breakfast, there is a good bar inside, drink inside or outside. overall I say was quite good

Review 73:On my arrival at hotel room, dirty towels & bed linen still lying around from previous customer, room was mid ready which was a bad first impression.!! No shower & kettle didn't work properly.

Review 74:Hotel away from high street, but short walking distance , peaceful location with the perfect views...:)

Review 75:Only mini-grumble - my phone linked to the hotel's free Wi-Fi, but no connections happened. Could be the poor local reception I've experienced many times in and around Barmouth.

Review 76:After 62 years of visiting, thought I knew all of the hotels in Barmouth - stayed here once years ago. Not sure when the make-over happened, but this hotel now gets top marks! Fabulous room and views. Room extras in abundance. Spotless, comfortable and top class!

Review 77:Dated hotel. A lot of workman sitting around in the reception and on the stair case. Our son was staying in a hotel near by which was ultra modern and more to our liking. Price was ridiculous for room. My husband had to bleed the radiator as it was only a third warm.

Review 78:Didn't really like anything.

Review 79:First night bar was full of rowdy Locals watching Rugby. Second night I had to go downstairs in my dressing gown at 2 am to ask for the noise to stop from the bar as there was 20 to 30 very drunk workmen in there singing and shouting. Did get one night refund. The evening meals were of poor standard, quantity and very expensive. ie 10 oz steak tuff and stone cold, handfull of burnt chips, two small mushrooms and one tomato £20.00.

Review 80:Nice clean Hotel in great location.

Review 81:No WiFi avaliable in the room, only in the bar. Hot water takes a very long time. No fridge or cooking facilities. Bar detracts from the hotel atmosphere, whilst lively and probably social I found drunk people enjoyed making a noise on the odd occasion whilst leaving the hotel or at midnight. Hotel room doors are thin as paper allowing you to hear everything outside.

Review 82:The hotel was great to stay in. Staff were quick to respond and serve. Breakfast was lovely. Enjoyed the shower gel provided by the hotel.

Review 83:The bedroom and en-suite are rather 'tired' and small. For an overnight/short stay it was adequate.

Review 84:On seafront with ample parking space. The breakfast was excellent as was our evening meal in the restaurant (there is also a bar area which allows dogs). We were there in November and the central heating was excellent. We would return if in the area again.

Review 85:Going home and saying farewell until next time.

Review 86:We travelled with our disabled Mother and the staff were very courteous and amiable. The food was excellent as was the bar facilities. The views overlooking the sea were fabulous. The rooms were all excellent value.

Review 87:dated bathroom dated dining room dogs in dining room dirty dining room floor

Review 88:bedroom good clean rooms breakfast good view of sea fantastic friendly staff beautiful setting good 10 minutes walk from main town,

Review 89:I found the food on the menu over priced, and the mushy peas to be to dry.

Review 90:The staff were very friendly and adaptable, i have two children with learning difficulties and they made us all feel very welcome. It was nice to see lots of dogs there too.You got a very good choice of breakfasts. All the guest were very friendly.

Review 91:I love the location, been in for a beer a few times but never stopped .usually camp in this area but treated my wife to a room being as it was our 6th aniversary.pub customers very friendly and the young barman very helpful especially when i kept getting white ball stuck in the pool table. nice breakfast next morning set us up for our ride home to Birmingham.

Review 92:Excellent place for a relaxing weekend with superb views, food is very good, friendly locals in bar will definitely visit again. Slight problem on arrival but quickly sorted without prompting by who I think was the Manageress.

Review 93:Room was basic to say the least and very dated. Bathroom was in need of a serious overhaul, dirty sealant round bath and grouting missing. One night was enough. Also tried to overcharge against agreed price through booking.com We wont be rushing back!!.

Review 94:Hotel was in good location with pleasant sea view

Review 95:The wasn't anything negative during our stay.

Review 96:Friendly welcome, room was comfortable, view from the room amazing. We ate in the bar in the evening. The food was tasty. The breakfast staff were friendly and the breakfast ok. All in all a good place to stay. We plan to come back.

Review 97:The toilet needed flushing on entering the bathroom for the first time!! The toast I received was mainly black instead of brown as requested! Apart from that I was reasonably satisfied

Review 98:People leaving dogs in room then going out, got woke up from my sleep a numerous of times.

Review 99:The food, the staff and the location. Great for single travellers people very friendly.

Review 100:The room was very expensive considering it was quite small. There was no shower in the bathroom and the slope of the roof ment that there was not much head room.

Review 101:Close to the beach.

Review 102:dogs in hotel sleeping in room next door you dont no if dogs have slept in same beds as you maid never made bed new bathroom but dont no if it was blood or rust running down towel rail

Review 103:location

Review 104:The staff: front house reception was poor, first thing they asked was for payment up front. Resteraunt staff were disorganised and were seating people at the wrong tables, catering staff arguing and swearing outside our bedroom window at 8 in the morning... The room: just plain dirty, furnished with old parts, shower water either scalding or freezing, matress was broken on one side which gave my partner bruises on his hip, pillows were like rocks. Room was positioned over the kitchen where staff were playing drums on the saucepans, singing loudly, shouting for "service", swearing when they didnt get "service", staff playing mobile phone music under our bedroom window till gone 11 at night...management refunded us without question and seemed genuinely shocked at how much we'd paid for the room (which said it all really) Food: disappointing full-english with tinned tomato and questionable sausage. Short breakfast serving time of an hour (8.30-9.30 !), nescaff instant coffee...

Review 105:The location: right on the beach front, lovely large garden at the front to sit and view the sea. Room amenities: kettle worked, complementary biscuits were pleasant. Staff: handled complaint really well, gave us a refund, a replacement matress and staff personally came to our room to apologise (made us feel really uncomfortable but it meant a lot and were very thankful to the member of staff). Our two nights stay was a disapointing let down and reminiscent of Faulty Towers.

Review 106:The shower was unpredictable at best, no matter what setting we used the water would either drop in pressure to a trickle or heat up to scalding temperature.

Review 107:The room we had was clean and bright, although looking a bit dated. The food was passable and reasonably priced, although definitely not Michelin starred. Nice view overlooking the beach and a nice outdoor seating area. Overall it was a fair place to stay.

Review 108:On arrival i had a couple of beers then I retired to bed, being so tired of travelling I fell asleep only to be wakened by a dog howling and barking, I know that you allow pets in and it is a very good idea. But could you express to dog owners not to leave dogs in their room on their own.

Review 109:Food excellent, Staff very good, Rooms very clean and good value for money.

Review 110:the bathroom had meldew on the tiles the sower door base was dirty the toilet seat was chipped harbouring germs the out look from window poor kept lawn with rubbish in it the car park dogs mess on it dog barking 1plus hour hotel needs tlc treatment asap

Review 111:the staff were smart curtious and polite food good room kept clean and tidy front of hotel was kept neat and tidy would go back but would need to improve on appearance inside and out

Review 112:Room (10) very very tired. The bedside cabinets had edges hanging off, the room did not have a nice smell about it (I think kitchen extractor may be nearby below) and the overall decor is just very tired and dated with the most basic of bathroom toiletries. We could hear word for word the family in the room next door (so it was a TV on situation) and i could also hear lots of banging/heavy lifting noises from the staff quarters below which went on very late - thankfully the sea air knocked us all out so the noise didn't keep us up. For me, at £102 per night this was not good value as the breakfast was just okay and it's not like our children were offered a cooked breakfast, they got cereal and roast only.

Review 113:The staff were warm and welcoming and check in and out went without a hitch. The bedroom was clean. The breakfast was alright. Good location and the hotel bar seem to be doing a roaring trade although we never managed to have a drink/meal there.

Review 114:Family room in bar was not very comfortable. Toys provided for small children definitely need replacing!!!

Review 115:Travelling with husband, daughter and son in law and 2 year old grandson. Family room was very spacious with 2 separate bedrooms. Furnishings were basic but very clean. Food was excellent and would recommend the restaurant.

Review 116:Need bigger TV Double bed was really hard didn't have good night sleep, which was a shame as I had no faults on the rest of the room.

Review 117:Lovely decorated room Good facilities, tea, coffee etc Good sea view Good size bathroom

Review 118:Rooms are really big giving you lots of space they could just do with some re modernising especially the bathrooms they look old and tired also the showers are poor In operation

Review 119:Helpfulness of staff is exceptional food is great also in the restaurant real value for money

Review 120:Ventilation in rooms poor. It was hot weather. I stayed in 2 different rooms and both were airless. A fan would have been a good idea.

Review 121:Pleasant staff, and helpfull

Review 122:No BBC on the TV. Wifi not easily accessible. Waiters during breakfast appeared confused and forgetful.

Review 123:The Hotel was very nice. Excellent location on the sea front. Rooms comfortable and roomy. Facillities for eating were very good. Nice atmosphere.

Review 124:Booking over the net was easy once there decided to book extra day, twin room we booked was not free, so they upgrated us to a family room at no extra cost x fantastic friendly staff and already planning another vist

Review 125:Nice clean room, nice view, friendly staff, nice meal in the restaurant and a lovely breakfast in the morning. The front garden has tables and chairs for enjoying the beach and sea view which is just across from the hotel.

Review 126:Cant find fault.

Review 127:The cleanliness, the food, the staff, the location, and especially the cost. Most obliging staff. A really good family run hotel. Thank You.

Review 128:Room was a little small but nothing major to worry about as we spent most of our time out

Review 129:Staff were very helpful and friendly hotel was in very good location. Nice view sitting out the front

Review 130:The hotel was in easy reach of the town. Friendly staff and the karaoke on the Saturday night was brilliant "

Review 131:On a windy cold day the heating in the room was not turned up with the bathroom radiator off.

Review 132:The food quality.

Review 133:Bathrooms a bit on the cramped side, water pressure for the shower a little low.

Review 134:Very friendly staff, good food, great location and easily accessible.

Review 135:we was happy with everything,we definitely looking to come back again.thank you

Review 136:The location opposite the sea brilliant and the food in the bistro lovely

Review 137:None only dogs barking when I came out and went into my room.

Review 138:The friendliness of staff, the excellent food, the location and the prices are fair.

The Fine Print

Please note that on Saturday evening it is karaoke night in the bar area. If a quieter room is required, please request this upon booking.
