Reviews for Appart'City Lille - Euralille

Review 1:Prices per night in Lille in late November are ludicrously high, and although the room we had (510) was basic, the kitchenette and wardrobe were tired, and in drastic need of refurbishment. The following is not a reflection on the Appart'City property, rather about Lille, and the way of the world today: As with many cities nowadays, you will often see begging on the streets in Lille; more noticeable here though, are an increasing number of 'shanty towns' where immigrants are setting up home - we saw two such sites within half a mile of La Madelaine district.

Review 2:The bed was comfortable, the bathroom was clean, the rooms were secure, and the restricted-access underground car-park was much appreciated. The lady at reception when we arrived was pleasant, and happy to offer tourism information.

Review 3:Rooms are getting a bit old and tatty. Our cupboard door had come off its tracks to the stage where it could not be put back on so we were u able to really use the cupboard.

Review 4:So easy to get to public transport and staff very helpful

Review 5:Rooms looked tired and unloved - bear white walls, old carpet, 3 hangers in the wardrobe. Nice bathroom but hot water available only in the morning

Review 6:Good location -only 2 stops away from the old town, underground parkind

Review 7:A bit old apartments, for our family was a bit difficult staying in duplex, but in general it is a good value for money in a good location and access to city centre.

Review 8:Nice location and friendly staff

Review 9:Our room was right on the street on the ground floor and we could hear people at all hours not to mention the man tapping on our window trying to get into the building at 4.30 AM.

Review 10:Position to city center and train station

Review 11:The entrance door has a code, which you may get only if you are arrivingat the certain time. We arrived later and there was no one on reception. Was just impossible to get inside. Nobody sent us an information viamail or sms in advance how we can get in the hotel in case we arrive notat check-in time( does not matter if I have already paid the wholeperiod stay there). We entered inside just when other guests went outand opened the door. Then it took quite a long time to call to a serviceto find out how to check-in. They leave keys in a security box but theservice person on the phone did not know the code!We had to ask forother people from the hotel to open for us the security box to get ourkeys. If we didnt meet other guests in the hotel we would have to sleepoutside. There is no cleaning service in the hotel and when you leavethe room you must clean it otherwise they will charge you extra.Theprice of the room is very high for the absence of any service.

Review 12:Just the steps!

Review 13:Excellent value. Ten minutes walk or 2 minutes tram ride from City Centre. Quiet area; parked right outside. Helpful receptionist. Great appt for a one night stay. Would not be suitable for anyone with mobility issues as precipitous steps to bedroom were fun but frankly dangerous!!!!

Review 14:-Pay attention to their hours at the front desk, if you don't arrive on time you will need a cell phone to ask them for the code to get in.

Review 15:-The staff was friendly and helpful. -The location was great, it was right next to the Tram. -The room had a small kitchen with cooking appliances so we didn't have to spend money on restaurants.

Review 16:My colleague reported that his heater wasn't working on the first day of our stay. 9 days later it still wasn't fixed after mentioning it a further 4 times.

Review 17:Location was good.

Review 18:The member of staff on reception for most of the time that I was there was extremely rude, unpleasant, and unfriendly.

Review 19:Great value for money! A comfortable room in a quiet location.

Review 20:Tea and coffee facilities would be great, we didn't have the use of a kettle whilst there!

Review 21:We didn't realise that we were a 10 minute walk from the main town, once found we had a great time.

Review 22:The hotel itself is non-smoking area but we were disgusted by the smoke around the entrance. The rooms have kitchenette facilities but you have to clean after use as well as clear out all the garbage in the room otherwise you will be charged. Kitchenette is a plus for budget travelers or a family but it stinks the hall way sometimes. No free wifi..

Review 23:The location of the hotel was good, easy access from the high way and close from the city center as well. If you are here for a business trip it's recommended. Check in process was easy even with late arrival.

Review 24:1. I requested a room not on ground floor. ( I got a room on round floor ) 2. I requested a parking space. I called a few days before I arrived and was told everything was OK. Upon arrival, I was told a parking space in the garage was not available. That disappointed me greatly, because I had a lot of baggage in the car which I wanted in secure storage and not out on the street. It was during the Braderie where parking spaces on the street were almost not available nearby. I was very unhappy. 3. If you provide a sink for washing dishes or a bathtub for taking a bath, you should provide a plug for the drain. Both locations didn't have one. The reception didn't have spares. 4. The entrance door hidn't open further than 45 degrees. Room 102. I am sure the door has been that way for a long time. 5. You have so many guests that come from foreign countries. Still your televisions don't offer a single channel in a foreign language. Not even CNN or BBC World News. One satelite receiver on the roof would do it, but the French consistantly refuse - it is a common problem with French hotels. 6. The round table in the room was too big and tipped, because one leg was too short. A maintenance problem. 7. It would have been nice to turn the room lights off at the bed, however there was no switch. No light at the bed for reading either. 8. Got sick from something at the breakfast buffet. The trip home was painfull. Sorry to say that, because all you could desire was there and all was clean and orderly.

Review 25:Dear Sirs, I am writing to express my indignation about staying at Apart city Euralille - La Madelene, Place Vauban. We used the services of the hotel for 11 days from 20.08 to 01.09.2015. We received a code for entry into the hotel, but the evening of 31.08 this code was changed! We had to call a phone contact, referred to the front door! My daughter , spoke with an operator several minutes. Front of the hotel we stayed 5 people, all trying to get into their apartments. The Mrs on the phone, didn't help us, she only asked information and an man, opened the door and we came in the hotel after 15 minutes. I am in Bulgaria now, and what is my surprise ?? The cost of the phone conversation to the phone for emeregency requests on the door is 45 EUR?!!?! I would like to ask you why not stated anywhere on the plate that this call is charged at a special rate, and why none of the reception staff did not inform guests about changing the code to the front door? Vazmitutelno and unacceptable to me is the way of service! Travel around the world and never have met such a dismissive attitude from the receptionist. Who will pay for the cost of a phone call, not our fault ?! The Hygiene in the aparthotel is beneath criticism. The curtains in the room are gray! Dust in the corners of the carpet and broken accessories in the bathroom. We paid for cleaning and it consists only in a change of towels and disinfectant in the bathroom! I will expect your answer about the phone cost on the evening of 31th of August - 11:33 hour

Review 26:You had to pay the wifi but the connexion a we're not fantastic I noticed that some other places give the wifi free of charge. Also the car park facilities are not always appropriate it took us 4 days to get a key available and had to park the car far as the zone is a blue zone and you are allowed to stay only for 30' except weekend!

Review 27:Very quick access to Lille without being right in the middle so less noise, quieter area. Loved the fact that it is a duplex, lovely size room upstairs.

Review 28:Poor english and customer care (no one at the reception, we had to call them to tell us the room no, unspecified until that). Also, it's not near Euralille, the location is Romarin (~1 km away).

Review 29:Very clean, comfortable and good price. Also, good facilities.

Review 30:No fans - v hot, no tea or coffee or water available on arrival and local shops far away. No breakfast was available in morning as we weren't asked the night before if we wanted it. But after complaining the service lady was very nice and helpful, also helped us with directions. Receptionist was nice and friendly. Beds were very comfortable. Price was great and area quiet.

Review 31:Although the room was 1,000x better than the one we received the week before, it was still unsuitable for young families. The bathroom was up some very steep stairs that our 3 year old tried climbing during the night to use the toilet... Luckily we heard her. The master bed was two singles stuck together, so during the night they parted like the red sea and I fell between them. No kettle to make tea/coffee with, only a coffee machine.

Review 32:Stairs to top level of double room were too steep for anybody over 60 years old. The staff changed our room without any problem

Review 33:Staff were very helpful and friendly..

Review 34:The room was not like the photo's on the website. I stayed on the 7th floor and there was only a light switch near the elevator so when you left your room you were in darkness until you reached the elevator.

Review 35:The wi-fi was very slow during the evening.

Review 36:Its cheap which was the main reason for staying there. Access to the city (2 stops on the tram, one minute walk away) is very good and it came with secure underground parking which was very good.

Review 37:What could we expected for this price? Nothing? This was even less. Our room 708 did not look like The picture at all. The cleanness was not up to our standard. Broken furniture and overall bad impression. No further comment.

Review 38:This was a bad experience; no further comment.

Review 39:no key available after late arrival despite having rung 3 times to make sure. Rang at hotel and person not very helpful, got other room eventually. No excuses given

Review 40:Apart city Euralille...why this name? The appart is not in Lille at Euralille like we could expect, but in La madeleine.....the hotel would need some renovation

Review 41:The staff Clean room

Review 42:i didn't have bad experience, but it would be better if the cleanliness can be improved.

Review 43:This hotel has very kind-staffs and receptionists (they help me so much, e.g., guide me to find the location easily by phone, print my letter of health insurance because i forgot to bring it whereas i did need it, and kindly sent my receipe by email when i lost it), and good facilities.

Review 44:We requested parking twice, to which nobody replied, and when we arrived, we had to park on the street, and then move 2 hours before check out time so we didnt get a ticket!

Review 45:Room was clean and tidy, the price is fair for what it was.

Review 46:The smell of the room and when we opened the fridge it stunk. There was stains on the floor, didn't seem clean. Didn't realise we had to pay for wifi. Call centre staff were rude and not helpful.

Review 47:The receptionist when we checked out was very helpful and friendly.

Review 48:The receptionist wasn't very helpful when we needed to call the police (licence plate stolen from car), she spoke only little English, and said she can't call the emergency number of the police.

Review 49:Good location, rich buffet breakfast

Review 50:I booked the hotel, but in reception nobody was. And I couldn't live in your hotel!!!!! When I phoned the manager said me that I have booking not in May but in August why?????

Review 51:We left confused about 2 things. There was request to leave washed dishes, cups etc...Ok we didn`t use any,but I just thinking- how I could trust previous guests they washed properly?Thats not a professional cleaning! To leave place tidy without saying- that`s normal for good behaved people, isn`t it? An other thing- request leaving a room to take garbage with you- I never seen it in my hotel experience before. But anyway- for £28 per night it`s not a hard work. Khmm...what those all guests doing with their waste?I had a very small plastic bag which traveled with me to next hotel in Gent.Ridiculous? :))

Review 52:Good location- 10-15 min walk to city centre, close to (5 min walk) train station (Eurostar). Safe underground parking (6 eur). Not noisy-had a good sleep.Good place for sightseeing. Good value for money.

Review 53:There was a very strong smell of cold tobacco in the whole studio so I had to leave the window opened the whole day and night.

Review 54:The price was reasonable.

Review 55:The bed sheets didn't seem to be clean. No hot water during 8pm to 12am. I could hear neighbors taking a shower, chatting, slamming doors and windows.

Review 56:The kitchenette and basic cutlery

Review 57:Although advertised as a Duplex Apartment, the stairs are a glorified ladder with cutaway treads. The bathroom was upstairs so we had to book a single room for our 92 year old mother, as she would never have got up the stairs.

Review 58:Secure underground parking.

Review 59:Infrastructures are in need for a refresh...

Review 60:Good value, good sized rooms. Very close to public transport (Tram), with very easy and quick access into the center.

Review 61:We just wanted a place to crash, since we were staying in Lille only for 1 night and this place is precisely that. No unnecessary luxuries, just a simply room, where you can easily sleep. The staff was very nice and friendly and the hotel was a 15min walk away from the centre and a 4€ Taxi fair away from it.

Review 62:The shower was broken and even after someone looked at it, it was still broken. The stairs are very awkward and would not suit a person with even a slight disability. Sophie on reception is rude.

Review 63:Nothing

Review 64:Very poor quality of decoration in rooms, carpets were dirty and sofa bed was very old. Just needs refurbishing to the same standard as other Apart City Hotels we have stayed at. We were supposed to have been upgraded to an executive room but our room was less than basic. Photos are on website do not reflect the poor quality of the rooms you get.

Review 65:Easy walking route into Lille, superb secure parking and easy to find from motorway, very pleasant staff.

Review 66:Hot water turns cold if 'neigboors' have taken a bath. Beds were losy. Windows didn't close. Extra blanket was smelly.

Review 67:Breakfast was OK.

Review 68:The attitude of the staff, the cleanliness of the rooms, the location also when we were unsatisfied with the service and asked to leave they charged a large fee to leave. I would not stay here again.

Review 69:Fantastic value, location, walking distance to town, local bars, food, tram buses 5 mins away, clean crisp sheets, spotless, for the money, eould be hard to beat, esp, with coffee machine, microwave, cooker and fridge plusvery spacious room, al for under £30 for two of us.

Review 70:A bit outside from the city center, bed which was supposed to be for 2 people was more 1,5 bed.

Review 71:Good comfortable rooms with kitchen facilities, friendly personnel.

Review 72:Tired looking in places and not enough pillows, towels very thin and small. Needed non -slip floor in the bathroom and handle in the bath, as I fell badly and sprained my ankle badly. I did report this to a male member of staff as we checked out.

Review 73:Closeness to Tram station.

Review 74:Room was ok but not more. With a surprise... no room service for short term stay (bed not made after first nigth and towels not changed)

Review 75:Good location. Good price and parking facility was convenient. Bed was confortable.

Review 76:The rooms smelled of cigarette smoke The TV was a little small and did not have any English language channels

Review 77:Helpful staff who spoke good English who were happy to go the extra mile to make my stay go well. There was a filter coffee maker which is a nice step up from instant sachets, however you need to bring the coffee, milk and sugar

Review 78:During 5 days nobody cleaned my room. On the 4th day I asked to change my towels, but administrator said that they change towels only after one week! Moreover 1) I killed two cockroaches; 2) there was not hot water in the first evening, when I just came after long way. Only in the morning I was able to wash. I think that it was a sanctions against Russia )

Review 79:Location of the hotel is comfortable

Review 80:The room was like infested with mosquitos. I killed about 4, and still managed to get stung. I wouldn't mind too much if it wasn't Automn, and if I wasn't allergic. The kitchen contains old smelly stuff. The photos do not match. We didn't get a renovated room.

Review 81:The location is great. Close to the tram. A few pubs/restaurants in the area which is nice if you arrive late and don't want to go in town. Overall good for a couple of days. The room had a TV. The beds are good. It was quiet. There is a lift.

Review 82:No negatives except for sleeping through breakfast, although we were given tea and croissants to keep us going

Review 83:Good location, easy access to the centre. Couple of good Bars with very friendly staff selling decent but fairly simple food just around the corner. Accomodation was good, comfortable and clean with cooking facilities if required and the staff we encountered were friendly and cheerful. Great place for our needs which was a cheap and cheerful base for a couple of days.

Review 84:Rather steep stairs leading to the upper floor bedroom and bathroom.

Review 85:Bright, clean, apartment, spacious bedroom, plus sitting room with sofa bed andTV. Small but well equipped kitchen. Close to tram stop, a few restaurants nearby. Staff helpful.

Review 86:I didn't like the cleaning is one time per week and the reception is not available all the time and no external calls to the apartment, the Internet is not free of charge , with a long procedure to log in every 24 hours, nb: the stay was payed fully before the check in.

Review 87:The hotel is a calm neighbourhood no noises at night , good facilities in kitchen

Review 88:Dirty carpet.steep stairs which are difficult to go up and come down.no air conditioning.bathroom needs revamp.spent 3 nights there (unfortunately) ,bins were not emptied during that period of time.Braderie Lille on this weekend and apartment was ridiculously expensive for a very poor 2 star

Review 89:Leaving

Review 90:It wasn't clean and had no sweeping brush or cleaning products. The shower was too powerful, it hurt. The bathroom was not clean. The breakfast was expensive for little choice. Telly only had a small choice of french channels. Was lucky I had credit on my UK mobile and spoke french so to get us into the building to get the code and would have liked to have been made aware of the system. Stairs to second bedroom were dangerous.

Review 91:It was rather hard to find a parking space in the streets near the hotel since it's located in a neighborhood with several hotels/companies.

Review 92:We called the hotel since we were going to arrive late. They had a nice system to do the arrangements for this without need for 24h/day reception. It was a rather small but cozy and clean studio, very cheap (though the reason could be that Lille isn't a touristic destination!)

Review 93:Very basic accomodation Stairs very steep and dangerous. Rain came in through bedroom window even when closed soaking carpet and electric heater.

Review 94:Plenty of space

Review 95:Hairs in bathroom Windows and door opening to balcony which open wide with no lock - dangerous for young children. 2 floors with extremely steep stairs like ladders -dangerous with young children

Review 96:Cheap Near city Out of hours check in Secure Parking on road

Review 97:Decor in apartment was very shabby, carpets dirty and sofa bed had cigarette burns, double bed was broken when we arrived so we had an unexpected visitation from the janitor and his vacuum cleaner on our first day ( also got disturbed by the janitor when he came another day to read the electric metre!). No bottle opener in kitchen. We have used Apart City before in Le Mans and loved it, but this one in Lille wasn't up to the same standard. Would come back again but would hope for a fully refurbished space.

Review 98:Plenty of space for our family of 4, great secure parking, bathroom and kitchenette newly refurbished.

Review 99:Room too hot, no air conditionning, not possible to sleep with window open with permanent sound of traffic on ring road. No cleaning during our 3 night stay. hall way not as clean and welcoming. Could do with some bed side tables and extractor in bathroom . In all very basic.

Review 100:The room are specious, bright, well equipped for cooking light meals, corner shop and Irish pub-restaurant at proximity. Tube to Lille centre on door step. Beautiful parks. Safe underground garage for small fee . 5 minutes from Euralille train stations. Good for the price and location if you don't expect luxury.

Review 101:What I didn't like was that on arrival on Friday night I had phoned the numbers on the main door and all I got was a recorded message in French only and as I don't speak a lot of French I could not understand the message. So that meant I could not access our apartment so I had to rent a room at a hotel on the Friday night. Also the apartment was not as clean as I thought it might have been there were stains on the floor in the hallway and also the sitting room, the stairs were very steep, especially as we had a young child and the toilet was up the stair in the bedroom.

Review 102:The apartment was good, the facilities were good, although we never use the kitchen. The bedroom and the sitting room were excellent, the staff could not be more helpful they were just fantastic, we could not get into our apartment on the Friday as we missed two ferry crossings due to traffic in England, and as I don't speak a lot of French. The girl on reception was great she sorted us out first thing sat morning.

Review 103:The 2way window locks were broken, and the windows were obviously not been inspected lately as they were extremly dirty as well as someone had been smoking out the window and left the but stuck inbetween. The radiater fell of the wall. The site pictures do not accurately reflect the accommodation. Not suitable for young children as the stairs are too steep.

Review 104:Brightly lit bathroom, close to city center.

Review 105:The reception is not open for 24hrs, so no one will help you during their rest time. It is also impossible to check in during 12pm-3pm, which is inconvenient. The breakfast is too expensive.

Review 106:The room is quite clean, and the hotel is very near to a Tram Station.

Review 107:bad coffee machine

Review 108:calm and good staff

Review 109:No staff to receive you on Sunday after 4 pm.

Review 110:Good kitchen and close to tram station

Review 111:There are no comments available for this review

Review 118:opening hours of the reception were terrible had to wait till 3 in the afternoon to check in

Review 119:Great location for a fair price

Review 120:It was close to the city center. About a 10 minute walk.

Review 121:Additional tax paid on arrival for the room when the everything was previously paid days before arrival

Review 122:Good vague for money

Review 123:Worn out bathroom and one of the worst beds I ever slept in

Review 124:Parking for 6,50€ a day is ok price

Review 125:Close city, very cheap, secure parking for motorcycle.

Review 126:So good to have a small kitchen. After 2 months of traveling it's nice to be able to cook a meal.

Review 127:The washing sink was not working.

Review 128:Everything - excellent value for money - convenient location - pleasant surroundings. Very good breakfast.

Review 129:Far from central and the person on the phone to sort out room number were rude.

Review 130:Cheap and good bed.
