Reviews for La Tour Brette
Review 1:No elevator - had to take luggage up old, narrow, steep, sloping staircase to our room on the third floor. Bedding was very old and should have been replaced years ago. Food for breakfast was expensive for what you received.
Review 2:Location was good.
Review 3:the hotel was in an excellent location in the town but close to lovely river walks, rooms were spacious and comfortable, evening menu was able to cater for varied tastes and budgets.staff were friendly and helpful
Review 4:Auful hotel! We gone to bed late in the evening and we found a few spots of dried blood on the upper sheet and blanket was full of different hair... But at 11 pm there wasn't nobody at the reception. We heard the snore from our neighbors. The bathroom smelt terribly and the shower cabin was maximum 50x50 cm! I don't recommend this hotel any more!!!
Review 5:nothing!!!!!
Review 6:No air-con and was too noisy on a Saturday night to have windows open to let some air in. Rooms very tired and in need of updating but it was very cheap so you get what you pay for.
Review 7:Good proximity to Le Mont St Michel and plenty of restaurants/bars close by. Staff friendly and helpful. Lockable storage facility for keeping bicycles in. Very cheap.
Review 8:The free wifi did not work anywhere on the property. Not even in the foyer.. The staircase was very narrow and hard to get suitcases up safely.
Review 9:The room was clean and comfortable.
Review 10:On a circle bit noisy. No hot water by 10am on a wintersday. No shower possible.
Review 11:Staff friendy aand easy going but not much done to provide the Hot Water. They did Compensate us for the discomfort.
Review 12:No lift. I chose not to have breakfast, but the following morning there was nothing open until 8 AM. If you intend to leave earlier than that your only option is a bakery shop down the road.
Review 13:Comfortable bed, clean room, friendly staff, good location, fair price. There's no private parking, but is quite safe to leave the car in the street (quiet street).
Review 14:First impression was the smell, like cooking cabbage, apparently the drain, then I could feel the springs in the mattress, then awoke to a bed full of beetles (apparently harmless carpet beetles).
Review 15:The second night when I had a different room, which was comfortable and larger, and none of the problems of the first night. They cheerfully moved me.
Review 16:bathroom could have been a bit cleaner but was in no way off-putting.
Review 17:restaurant - inclusive menus were a good value and the food was excellent location - near bus/train station wifi
Review 18:Presented as "5 minutes walk from train station" but closer to 15 to 20 minutes with luggage. No elevator so stairs may be difficult for some. Depends on how much you want to spend on accommodations.
Review 19:Price was appropriate at 50 Euros per night . Clean. Very small but fine for one night. Helpful staff.
Review 20:No air conditioning, noisy as beside a busy resturant and road.
Review 21:Serious value for money, great location to visit Mont Saint Michel, gorgeous town/village that you can stroll around in the evening. Very friendly people with a nice variety of resturants
Review 22:Going out of town the following day, the bus was 3 hrs. late! Not the hotel's fault: however travelers should be aware of traveling thru here due to lack of train/bus dependability.
Review 23:Staff was very acceptable to my leaving a backpack and small duffel bag there while visiting Mont St. Michel.
Review 24:Wifi connection is worthless on second floor Difficult to set temperature of water in the shower, too hot or too cold. Small rooms No private parking
Review 25:Friendly staff Close to Mont St Michel Dark rooms (good curtains)
Review 26:There is no parking place at the hotel, so you have to park your car on the street (but it's not a problem there). The breakfast is not worth the money, very poor. The bathroom was very small and the shower door didn't close well which was very annoying.
Review 27:The location was good, near downtown, bakery and restaurants.
Review 28:Just something to note, the rooms are not huge, but it was still a comfortable size. Breakfast was about 7 euros so we never ate it.
Review 29:This Hotel was easy to find and only a few minutes walk from the Station. The room had everything you needed. The bathroom was a good size. It was clean. It was in a quiet Location, no Need for ear plugs. Great place to stay to visit Mont St. Michel.
Review 30:Unpleasant musty smell; very poor breakfast - overpriced for what you got; no explanation of lights system - foundered in the dark passage on first day. Cheap - and everything about this hotel is cheap.
Review 31:Staff tried to be of assistance.
Review 32:The host is very nice! And the hotel has a very good location
Review 33:There was no wifi even though the hotel description said there was. Very unfortunate.
Review 34:Located centrally to Mont St Michel.
Review 35:The staff were excellent, friendly and cheerful. The food was really good.
Review 36:Bit noisy.

Review 38:smelt of cabbage and old carpets. No functioning electrical outlets in the room. Overpriced for very basic accommodation.
Review 39:reasonably helpful front man
Review 40:Wifi didn't reach top floor
Review 41:Comfortable room and good location to train station. Friendly, helpful staff
Review 42:No heating in room. Very small room for a double. Shower head was like a tap.
Review 43:Restaurant on site
Review 44:Shower head hose could do with new one...
Review 45:Good location ...10min walk to train and bus to mont st Michel...front desk staff helpful...
Review 46:Noise from bar across the street.
Review 47:Friendly staff, clean, good value and I would stay here again.
Review 48:Couldn't get wifi in room
Review 49:Central location, good room, decent bathroom, fair price
Review 50:The bathroom is slightly small.
Review 51:Friendly staff. Although he speaks English not so well, it's enough to communicate.
Review 52:Lack of air conditioning.
Review 53:About 10 minutes walking from train station. Nice staff.
Review 54:Wifi didn't work for me Parking was on the street - not private- the web said bikes available but when we asked we were told no no go car - don't know if there was a misunderstanding/ there didn't seem to be any bikes -but we ended up hiring bikes from a camp site down the road
Review 55:Friendly staff - great having a restaurant in the same premises - reasonably priced meals that seemed like a good home cooked meal- comfortable bed - we biked along the river to le mont Saint Michel which was amazing
Review 56:Cycled there, well signposted and easy to find, great location and they had a bike store. Good resturant which was very busy. Easy to find the bike route the following day.
Review 57:The water in the shower is unpredictable - hot, cold, hot, cold. A small inconvenience for a value hotel.
Review 58:This place is convenient and staffed by friendly and welcoming people. They look like they enjoy their jobs. The place is clean, and even has a hairdryer, dinner is on offer and some is breakfast. A gem of a place ! I'll be going back for sure.
Review 59:No lift, not very close to station (best to go straight from station rather than main street)
Review 60:Very friendly cheery host; great food in the restaurant at dinner; plenty of space in our room
Review 61:The shower door. Everything was fine but the Shower door. hot water, but a nice shower could be nicer if I didnt have to hold the door all the time. I hope they fix it. Overall was excellent.
Review 62:The Hospitality there and the food were outstanding. Cheapy but clean and quite confortable. The owners and staff are just lovely. Too easy to get to Mount Saint Michel. By the way: People in Pontorson are far the most welcoming in France. worth a visit!
Review 63:Nothing! This place is a great budget accommodation.
Review 64:Stayed for 2 nights. This is a good place to stay if you're planning to hit Mont St. Michel. It's about 30 minutes away if you take the bus. The hotel is a straightforward 10-15 minute (but slightly dull) walk to the train station where the bus to St. Michel also leaves. The neighborhood is quiet, which makes for good sleep. The owners were also very kind. There's a bulletin board in the hotel with bus schedules, and the hotel restaurant menu was gentle on someone on a budget- 12 euro for a 3-course meal (I was so full,I couldn't even finish dessert, and the food was pretty good).
Review 65:This Hotel is very close to the train station. The bus to Mt St Michel conveniently also leaves from the train station. The restaurant was very good and a great value.
Review 66:no elevator (if you need one)
Review 67:Clean, quiet neighbourhood, very helpful and friendly personell, restaurant was the only opened one with good food, free parking at the front door, comfortable bed
Review 68:No computer access if you didn't have your own and the owners had noidea how I could access a computer in the town. The Tourism office wasclosed (exceptionally).
Review 69:Great location for visiting Mont St Michel at low cost. The restaurantat the hotel was lovely and great value. Parking right outside the doorin the street. Quiet town which is pretty and has several places to eat.
Review 70:Wifi reception in the room not always working.
Review 71:Very friendly owners, warm welcome. Restaurant served nice fresh food. Room was small but clean, bed was ok, shower and toilet in the room were ok.
Review 72:Needs a kettle in the room, unable to make a hot drink.
Review 73:Great location for local tourist spots. Lots of cafe's and shops at your door step. Small room but adequate for a couple of nights. Wifi very good.
Review 74:They have bedbugs! Really. But we realized it only at the last day of our stay, at midnight, so we even couldn't tell somebody or change the room because reception is not 24H. Also, breakfast is very poor, despite they have their own restaurant. One croissant, jam, cup of coffee and small glass of juice for 9 euro per person it is too much. Hopefully it is not obligatory. Another problem is that the last bus from MSM is at about 9 pm, so you couldn't catch sunset there.
Review 75:Grocery store and lively bar nearby, bus stop to Mont St Michel and railway station is about 7 minute walking. Fair value for money for this location, but...
Review 76:fan would be nice - gets hot in summer. even so, i still highly recommend this hotel and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.
Review 77:comfortable friendly family-run hotel, with staff who were encouraging (and forgiving) of our efforts to speak French. excellent restaurant too. room is clean and comfortable. close to the station, easy bus ride to Mont St-Michel.
