Review 1:N/A
Review 2:Perfect location with an excellent host. Very warm and friendly welcome. We sat in the conservatory when we arrived and was served with coffee and biscuits. A lovely touch. The room looked right over Barmouth Bay and was really comfortable and cases with a pretty decor. Wouldn't hesitate to book again.
Review 3:We were a little bit cold at one point, but we are usually super cold no matter where we go. It probably was normal temperature, it's just our cold blood :)
Review 4:Even though the weather was awful (our luck!) the place was excellent and the owners were super friendly and very nice people. The room was clean and the massive windows created a perfect view to the sea. Food was really good too. Our fav was the home made jam. Perfect place to relex. Just what we needed after our very busy year
Review 5:I cannot think of anything.
Review 6:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location was amazing with great sea view. The room was very comfy and clean. The breakfast was really tasty made from fresh and local products. We enjoyed our stay, will definitely come back and recommend it to other friends who want to visit Wales.
Review 7:Although fruit and cereal was on offer, the cooked breakfast was a bit on the small side. Perhaps an extra sausage and some beans might have made the difference. However, this is a small niggle and would not put us off from staying here again.
Review 8:Easy to find as it was on the main road, just on the way into Barmouth. Plenty of room on the free car park at the front of the building. Great views out to the front and on the way into town (5 minute walk).
Review 9:Late check in time. Shower was quite weak.
Review 10:Lovely twin room, well presented & beds so comfy. Beautifully cooked breakfast, was well fed. Would definitely return to this hotel.
Review 11:Lovely, welcoming and very comfortable. We were in room 2 which has two large windows overlooking the estuary and the view is beautiful. We had a great breakfast each morning served in the conservatory, again with those views. Would highly recommend.
Review 12:The bathroom towel rail kept falling off. Also, being as there are a lot of stairs, it wouldn't be suitable for disabled or aged people.
Review 13:The view from the breakfast room was nice, the hosts were very likeable. Good choice at breakfast.
Review 14:Thought I had booked particular room (number two) as that was room shown on Internet. However had one above which is nice room but smaller window. Will make sure I contact b&b direct for next booking
Review 15:We like the views from the sea view rooms and the quality of the breakfasts
Review 16:The owner of the place was very accommodating and helpful, after a long journey from London we arrived later than expected and she was really sweet...the rooms are nice and clean, the breakfast lovely and fresh (amazing homemade cinnamon rolls)...beautiful location!
Review 17:The only negative was the shower, after numerous attempts of turning it on and off we had staggered amount of hot and cold water. Would need to be fixed.
Review 18:The service was wonderful. The entrance hall and the room have a really welcoming feel. The hosts were spot on with their interaction with the guests. Not too passive and not too smothering. Would definitely return again and again.
Review 19:The attention to detail was more like an hotel than a b&b from the grooming packs in our en suite to the cafetiere+ground coffee in our room. Breakfast was freshly cooked and locally sourced and not only included a 'daily special'(eg Eggs Benedict) but also homemade bread and jam.Very helpful owners even housed our bikes in their shed to save them from getting wet. Highly recommended.
Review 20:Nothing to dislike
Review 21:It was a pleasure to stay there. Close to town .spectacular scenery. Easy for touring and walking. Having wonderful breakfast to set you up for the day! And meeting such nice staff and travelers alike.
Review 22:The room was very clean and the beds were exceptionally comfortable. Tastefully decorated. Breakfast was very good with a good choice. Very friendly and helpful staff
Review 23:Nothing was bad! The only drawback was that you could occasionally hear a car go by.
Review 24:The hosts were very friendly and helpful and well traveled themselves so they know how to make guests feel comfortable. The location itself was great since we were able to walk into the lovely town and have easy walking access to many hiking trails. The bed was very comfortable and we had a beautiful view over the estuary.
Review 25:We were welcomed with a pot of tea and lovely Welshcakes, Adrian and Robyn were very helpful and friendly and they made very nice bread and breakfasts. The view was fantastic! Would love to come back one day and go on some of the walks that they gave a lot of info on.
Review 26:Convenient but secluded location/ free off-street parking/so many nice extra touches/marvellous breakfast with lots of homemade and local produce/Nothing too much trouble and lots of local knowledge willingly shared by hosts Robyn and Adrian who were unfailingly welcoming and never withouit a friendly smile.
Review 27:Nothing
Review 28:What a lovely place. Wonderful homemade food and lovely room. Was welcomed and looked after wonderfully. Will definantly be going back. Many Thanks.
Review 29:Would have liked a comfortable chair to use in bedroom but there was not room.
Review 30:Location excellent, 10 minutes walk into the town and restaurants. Friendliness of staff who could not do enough to assist and make you feel welcome. Comfortable, clean B&B with a relaxed feel.
Review 31:Late check in at 4pm
Review 32:We had a very nice stay here. Robyn was very friendly. We stayed in room 7 which had amazing views across the estuary. Really good breakfast with home made produce.
Review 33:no complaints at all
Review 34:The area was very nice,we have not been there before, nice location, quiet even though it was on a main road.Friendly, easy going owners.
Review 35:varied water temperatures in shower.
Review 36:Excellent friendly service ,location and view fantastic. Standard of cleanliness excellent . Facilities in evening for comfort very good. Excellent choice and service at breakfast (a high standard )
Review 37:Convenient to town and estuary walks. Friendly owners and an excellent breakfast in the conservatory. On checkout day we were able to leave the car in the car park while cycling to Dolgellau and back (18 miles)
Review 38:no mobile signal, so wifi needed, thankfully supplied!
Review 39:It was in a good position for walking to the town, yet still had a good sea view. The cleanest possible room, perfect. comfortable bed, warm and cosy. Robyn and Adrian were more than helpful, wonderful hosts.
Review 40:The shower - water sprayed out of the side of the shower head and across the bathroom when I first turned the shower on. We used the bath instead! A small bird flew into our room when we had the window open, no harm done though!
Review 41:The greeting from the owner who was very attentive. Excellent breakfast with locally sourced ingredients including home made bread. We had our breakfast in the 'conservatory' which was bright and airy.Sea views from our room which was spacious with comfortable chairs at the window.
Review 42:Tastefully decorated rooms, very welcoming hosts and an excellent breakfast. Ideally located overlooking the bay and a very short walk into the centre of Barmouth.
Review 43:Scenery, friendly hosts, easy parking, peaceful setting. Clean comfortable rooms and beds. Home made bread, jam, muffins and home made vegetarian sausages and pancakes.
Review 44:In a high end B&B It would have been nice to have local produce for breakfast, while the bacon, eggs, black pudding and sausages appeared to be generic low end supermarket stuff. Corridors and staircases smell of fried eggs
Review 45:On the way to all the local walks. Great views from the room. Room was clean and very nice. the landlords are nice
Review 46:Robyn our host looked after us well and she & her husband provided a delicious breakfast with daily specials. Much of this was homemade and locally sourced. The location was ideal for walks across the iconic Victorian railway viaduct over the estuary. Sea view from our room and natural beauty all around. An easy stroll into Barmouth town.
Review 47:Nothing wrong with hotel at all but it's about time bookingncom got rid of the button asking of you want a.smoking room or not
Review 48:Friendly helpful landlady who cooks a nice breakfast. Nice room with sea view as requested
Review 49:Had spent a great weekend in Barmouth visiting Wales and Snowdonia. The hotel was very easy to find as it was just in the begining of the town near the famous railbridge. Room we stayed was very cosy and super clean. We have enjoyed full English breakfasts and hospitality. Would like to go there again in summer.
Review 50:Everything, including the expert advice on local walks and the superb breakfasts that helped us to complete them! Thank you, Robyn and Adrian, for a home from home; we look forward to the next time.
Review 51:Lawrenny Lodge was very welcoming.. the owners were extremely friendly and helpful. I especially liked all the home baked breads and muffins and beautiful breakfasts. It was warm, extremely comfortable and the room was decorated beautifully with a lovely sea view, on the door step to some wonderful walking. Highly recommended ..Wendy
Review 52:Comfortable, clean and warm and with kind, generous and welcoming hosts! Relaxing shared fireside bar and lounge. Perfect place - whatever the weather! Great location!!! 3-5 min walk from town centre and estuary or seafront beaches, the Last Inn - a quaint and cosy pub (with live music on Tues evenings), long beaches and promenade, and hillside walks.
Review 53:Obviously you cant blame a hotel for the guests but beware; if you are unlucky like we were you could find yourself awoken at all hours by over zealous bedroom noises of the couple upstairs. There is very little sound insulation in this old building and for two nights of our three night stay we were kept awake for several hours.
Review 54:Room was spotless Newly fitted bathroom likewise spotless breakfast great; good cold buffet selection and a choice of cooked options all very tasty Overal almost perfect
Review 55:I really would struggle to find anything wrong with the place , the hosts were very helpful , breakfast just yummy with a good choice , our room was decorated well , we had a fantastic view from our window . Have already booked our next stay !
Review 56:Absolutely nothing.
Review 57:Robyn made our short break very special. Her choice of colour and artwork, quality of bedding, towels etc. 10 out of10 equalled only by her home made bread, marmalade and muffins. Loved the whole area. Cannot wait to go back and have a sea view room next time.
Review 58:Bathroom only had a small towel heater therefore the bathroom was rather cool. Shower could have done with a longer panel to prevent watering the floor!
Review 59:Best B&B I have stayed in. Beds were very comfortable with spotless white linen. Towels were nice and thick. Great shower with plenty of hot water. Breakfasts were amazing. Beautifully cooked and presented. Stayed in twin with a sea view and what a view!
Review 60:We go back every year : the owners are charming and the place is perfect. Breakfast is amazing and the rooms really comfortable. Perfect place for walking.
Review 61:We had our breakfast in the conservatory, stunning views, beautiful weather helped. Home made bread for breakfast, room was comfortable, but we going to book sea views next time.
Review 62:Room was cosy and decor most pleasant.Bed was very comfortable_ duck feather duvet and pillows.View stunning and Last Inn in Barmouth as advised was a wonderful place to eat.Would happily go to Lawrenny again for a longer stay.
Review 63:Bit of a strange smell on the staircase
Review 64:The warm welsh cakes and tea welcome, comfortable room, good room guide, relaxed atmosphere and good bar. Delicious breakfast.
Review 65:i would like to say that my mother booked this guest house as a special suprice for her husband taking them back to somewhere they used to go when they were first married, they paid for 2 nights but had to leave after first night because they were put on the 2nd floor and my mum has difficulties walking there were no ground floor rooms available. i thought as a good will gesture you would have reimbursed the cost of the 2nd night. i also think its a bit much asking a elderly couple to vacate there room at 10am each morning, this is a outdated procedure they went for recuperation but found they had to walk around the town until they were allowed back into their room.
Review 66:We loved the welcome & reception we received when we arrived -the host offered us chance to relax in the conservatory with free tea, coffee & delicious welsh cakes. Very good quality service. Room was lovely, the bathroom too. The breakfast was of an excellent quality too. Very pleased we chose Lawrenny Lodge. Would definitely stay again if we head back to Barmouth.
Review 67:Some rooms are smaller and cheaper and don't have a view.
Review 68:Room 2 had fantastic views over the bay. Had breakfast in the conservatory overlooking the bay. Short walk to the town and other points of interest.
Review 69:This seems a bit churlish considering an otherwise great stay but it seemed odd to offer only one sachet of hot chocolate in a room for two!!
Review 70:Room was clean and comfortable and the staff were very friendly. Good breakfasts with an interesting alternative each day; the eggs benedict were very good! Self-service items included muffins. On-site parking was no problem. Also enjoyed being able to have a drink in the conservatory at the end of our day out. Excellent value for money.
Review 71:Ideally placed for exploring the area either on foot, by car or public transport. The Mawddach trail is well worth walking or cycling-you can hire bikes just down the road. Owners very knowledgeable on the area so able to give tips an ideas for days out. We paid a bit extra for a sea view which was money well spent- the views were outstanding, even in the rain. Very comfortable room, everything as advertised.
Review 72:the one night we were there the temperature had dropped and the room was chilly with no central heating on. could have done with a small heater to take the chill off. otherwise excellent.
Review 73:clean comfy bed with fluffy pillows in good size room. attention to detail was excellent in room and at breakfast.
Review 74:Nothing!
Review 75:Room was lovely with a great view, bathroom luxurious and uber clean. Very welcoming hosts. I would certainly visit again and recommend to anyone wishing to a stay in the area.
Review 76:Nothing - it was all good
Review 77:The tea and Welsh cakes on arrival! The room had stunning views over the bay and was exceptionally clean and comfortable. The hosts were very friendly. Breakfast was excellent with a lot of choice and specials. We felt very much at home. We would have no hesitation in staying here again and to recommend it to others - you won't be disappointed
Review 78:Friendly welcome, taken to room, great view of the harbour, very comfortable bed, nice size room, very clean and tidy. Breakfast, absolutely gorgeous, full English, and the toast, lovely. All in all, a very pleasant stay, and wont hesitate to stay again, or recommend.
Review 79:We didn't win the the lottery :D
Review 80:Well where do we start..... Fantastic , we had a 4-5 day stay at Lawrenny Lodge , our honeymoon (as we had little time) and what a wonderful place and time we had . Robyn & Aid were amazing and when speaking to them they have a wealth of experience in the hospitality industry ranging from Africa - UK and it shows . Barmouth was really good and not too 'spoiled' ;). Excellent for a short get away .
Review 81:This is not really a complaint, our room looked out onto the cliffs at the back of the property, sea view would of been nice but were all full. So can't be helped
Review 82:Located just far enough away from the main part of town, but not too far. Footpath opposite which took you down to the Railway bridge and down to the waters edge of the estuary. The owners were always on hand if there was anything you needed, such as a nice cold beer after returning from a hot day out in the sun. Nice to have a cafetiere & fresh coffee in the room.
Review 83:Large room with seats to sit by the window to look at the sea and watch the sky change. Comfy beds, large bathroom, friendly owners. Home made food with plenty of choice for breakfast. Good car park.
Review 84:Nothing TO dislike
Review 85:Quaint seaside town, Lawrenny Lodge has amazing sea views and Robyn & Adrian made us very welcome. Outstanding breakfasts. It is one end of THE MAWDDACH TRAIL.. Highly recommended
Review 86:Our room was rather small and without a sea view, but we knew this when we booked. It seemed a bit of a rush to depart by ten, especially as we wanted to walk before breakfast, which was just a time slot of one hour.
Review 87:We were within walking distance to the town and restaurants. A nice environment to relax, and be refreshed.
Review 88:There wasn't anything that detracted from the pleasure of our stay.
