Reviews for Le Manoir Les Minimes

Review 1:nothing.

Review 2:The view out our window was breathtaking. Amboise castle and the river. The location was a 5 minute walk to the center of town. Very friendly helpful staff.

Review 3:Beautiful hotel in an ideal location close to the centre of town. Staff were so friendly and helpful, we were made to feel so welcome, they went out of their way to help us. Beautiful room with lovely large bed.

Review 4:Fantastic location, overlooking the river and with views of the chateau. Easy walk into town for restaurants, bars and shops. Helpful and friendly staff, beautiful building; this is a hotel with that little extra je ne sais quoi!

Review 5:-Breakfast (not their expertise) (example: no expresso) - We were put in a small house near the manoir (very clean, but you don't live the real mansion experience).

Review 6:Location beautiful place clean

Review 7:slight problem with air conditioner noise throughout night as it auto switched on and off.

Review 8:Genuine 4 star hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Great location backing onto the Chateau and river in front. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Free parking.

Review 9:Corkage fee for wines you bring in to Les Minimes. Some of the staff not helpful at all.

Review 10:Bathroom with a shower, but not all rooms have them. Great location!

Review 11:Wifi connection in outside cottage unreliable. No coffee or tea making facilities in the room.

Review 12:Location and comfort , security parking on the property. Attention to detail

Review 13:Great location and beautiful view of the Amboise caste and the Loire river. The staff was very courteous and helpful. The property itself is very charming.

Review 14:My only criticism was the wifi was a little spotty, not always available.

Review 15:The hotel was beautiful as well as comfortable, situated in a charming small town with its very own chateau out the front window. Just a short walk from the hotel , Leonardo Da Vinci's home has been turned into a small museum with absolutely beautiful grounds, a showcase of over 40 of his inventions.

Review 16:We were greeted by a friendly staff member who offered to show us the rooms available (we couldn't decide if we wanted convenience of the first floor or 3rd floor with a view) we decided on the 3rd floor attic room, we loved the character of the room but the ceiling beams maybe hard for someone taller. Overall the staff and the spectacular setting maybe this a memorable stay. Thank you for the wonderful hospitality.

Review 17:Nothing- everything was perfect!

Review 18:Everything about this place was amazing- from Julluan who was very hospitable and gave great recommendations, the accommodations, cleanliness of room and the location.

Review 19:Nothing.

Review 20:Top class service, English speaking staff who where more than happy to assist with any request. Breakfast was a delight and better than any we have had so far.

Review 21:We only stayed one night but wished we could have stayed a week. Excellent service, great comfort and the best hotel breakfast I have had in France. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Review 22:??, but I suppose a restaurant would be advantageous, although there is a reasonable selection within walking distance (important now given the overly strict French drink/drive laws).

Review 23:Location, good parking, friendly and helpful reception, the room and high quality of linens etc

Review 24:Nothing to dislike.

Review 25:We thought this hotel was very special. Elegant, tasteful and luxurious.... We loved our brief stay here and wished we could have stayed longer. We will return

Review 26:A wonderful stay at just an ideally situated hotel for our Loire Valley touring by car. The staff were kind and helpful, the parking was a relief, and the room and grounds are classic.Brilliant.

Review 27:No restaurant but Lion D'or in Town was absolutely fantastic and anyone staying here should make sure they eat there. Drinks from Bar expensive and compared to Spain where I was the night before very small measures!!

Review 28:Offstreet Parking,Breakfast,clean room.

Review 29:I didn't love that the room was located in a different building from the lobby of the hotel. it also was difficult getting our suitcases up and thin, windy staircase without a bellman.

Review 30:We enjoyed our stay and thought that the hotel room and bathroom were nicely appointed. They were newly renovated and with a nicely updated shower with heated towel bar and comfortable bedding, made our stay very enjoyable.

Review 31:The staff did not make the guest feel at home because they were too posh. It is not hotel to go with small children. You can not have coffe or tea anywhere in the hotel. Our room was in the ground floor with a big window facing the park lot.

Review 32:Location. The building.

Review 33:A beautiful building, wonderfully furnished in typical French style and in a perfect setting along the Loire. Amazing views from our windows - the Loire from one side and the Chateau d'Amboise from the other. A memorable one night stay.....wish it had been longer!

Review 34:We had a superior rooms on the top level. The sloped roof made this room very uncomfortable but unfortunately all other rooms were booked.

Review 35:Location was great and the staff were very nice.

Review 36:Breakfast was very disappointing. They could do better.

Review 37:Beautiful hotel with a kind and helpful staff.

Review 38:Breakfast should be included in room´s price.

Review 39:Excellent hotel, very cozy and charming!

Review 40:Amazing place, wonderful facilities, friendly and welcoming stuff, Perfect experience

Review 41:Staff is amazing.

Review 42:Tiny room for the price

Review 43:Nice building

Review 44:Great central location. Lovely building with beautiful siting rooms.

Review 45:Nothing~!

Review 46:Courteous Staff consideration of Guest. Good Breakfast. Nice View of Window(Garden, Chateau de Ambois) Parking place.

Review 47:breakfast is too expensive

Review 48:Nice staff, cozy room with great view. The location is perfect!

Review 49:Everything ! Appearance , location , spaciousness, service , cleanliness, beautiful linen Everything perfect

Review 50:First class service excellent location

Review 51:Service was superb. Staff were very helpful.

Review 52:The sound proofing could be improved

Review 53:Very charming place. Location is perfect.

Review 54:the staff were extremely friendly and helpful, the views of the castle were spectacular, easy stroll into town, lovely breakfast room

Review 55:beautiful hotel and location! Amazing service and stay!

Review 56:Nothing

Review 57:We thought the staff was especially helpful. The ro was great too. We would definitely try to stay again.

Review 58:Nothing!

Review 59:Location, ambience and solid quality.

Review 60:Nothing I did not like.

Review 61:Loved the hotel. Staff were extremely helpful. Eateries and restaurants just around the corner. Would recommend to anyone.

Review 62:The staff were so friendly, and the rooms really clean, some great rooms and breakfast was excellent.

Review 63:Great location,room,breakfast and staff

Review 64:Fantastic location, beautiful hotel

Review 65:They charge a $15 corkage fee if you want to drink your own wine on the terrace. They do not have a traditional bar, but they do offer a few options. The fee is too high for an area filled with wine caves offering great $10 bottles. For the most part the staff is amazing, but we did run into one staff member who was very difficult.

Review 66:The location is great in the city center of Ambois. We were able to walk to dinner every night. The property itself is great. We stayed on the top floor, which could feel like a converted attic, but we thought it had character. The breakfast in the morning was good.

Review 67:Would have liked to have got dinner at the hotel but they only do breakfasts. There are however some wonderful restaurants in Amboise just a two minute walk away.....

Review 68:This is an absolutely fabulous place to stay...... If you go to Loire you just have to stay at this hotel in Amboise!!

Review 69:No tea and coffee facilities in room

Review 70:Great location, next to river at base of Amboise castle 5 mins walk to shops and resturants. Common rooms great with that homely feeling, quiet and relaxing. Clean. Comfortable beds.

Review 71:At the price breakfast should be included and not an extra 16 Euros per person.

Review 72:Superb, large deluxe pavilion room (in the cottage rather than the house). Comfortable bed, airconditioning and dark and quiet at night. Well appointed, very clean room. Just a few minutes walk to chateau and numerous restaurants and cafes. Parking for every room available.

Review 73:Knowledgeable and responsive staff who are focused on the guest(s) enjoyment. Furniture, fittings and accoutrements of a very high standard and perfect beds and linen. Location is very close (walking distance - 5 minutes) to restaurants and the Chateau. Secure parking available in the grounds.

Review 74:The Manoir is ideally located just below the chateau walls, within easy walking distance of shops and restaurants. The welcome from the staff was warm and solicitous. The cottage accommodation was as luxurious, elegant and comfortable as you would expect from this level of establishment. A wonderful place to stay.

Review 75:Breakfast at 16 euros per person seems a bit ridiculous. We walked into the village and had a lovely breakfast for half that amount.

Review 76:Beautiful building in a lovely location.

Review 77:The bathroom of the top floor (cheaper) room had limited headroom for 6' people and inadequate showering facility. This is in France so one must make allowances but the hand held spray was not long enough to use standing and broke.

Review 78:We liked the place and it's location. The staff were very good.

Review 79:Breakfast prices were a little high and wine seemed a little overpriced.

Review 80:Lovely place in the shadow of the castle. Helpful staff...wonderful rooms. Great showers. Enough linen provided. Help with directions, tours, and taxi rides.Very beautiful main rooms with elegant furnishings. A wonderful place to stay. I would definitely love to stay there again.

Review 81:Difficult to open the door. Was not a key card so had to carry actual keys. Air conditioning was not great so it felt stuffy in the room

Review 82:Great location. Liked the cottage option. Bathroom was large and bed was very comfortable

Review 83:nothing

Review 84:Great place and great hosts who anticipate so well what travellers want in a first class accommodation. It was very comfortable as was the service - always there but not thrust upon you unwanted. Their recommendations on sites and restaurants were unfailingly excellent.

Review 85:The manor is so stunning with all the French furniture from a different era! We felt like being treated as a royal and the breakfast in the dining room was really worth it to spend the extra $16. The staff is very kind and helpful and always ensuring that we are comfortable. The room is also very spacious and the bed is very comfortable. They provide good toiletries and quality linen and towels. Definitely a 4 or 5 star hotel. It has an excellent view to the amboise castle.

Review 86:Maybe it's because it's kind of the off-season, but the town closes early. We weren't looking for a crazy party town, more of a relaxing retreat, but even an after-dinner drink in a bar isn't really on the menu...

Review 87:The staff are fantastically friendly, and the hotel is beautiful & very comfortable. The town is gorgeous, and all in all is a great retreat.

Review 88:The location, service and overall elegance of the hotel were all superb! I wish we had the opportunity to linger longer in such a lovely place, but I guess this means I will have to return in the near future.

Review 89:Lower room in cottage annex is noisy when room above is occupied because the floor transmits all the footsteps & noises.

Review 90:Comfortable room, excellent breakfast.

Review 91:There was a strange smell in the bathroom and the English translations need to be changed because they do not make sense and there are a few spelling mistakes

Review 92:The ambiance was wonderful, breakfast delicious and the room very tranquil

Review 93:The location on the river, the professional staff, comfortable and not 'stuffy' and the complimentry upgrade so we weren't disturbed. Thank you.

Review 94:We stayed in one of the rooms in the small cottage. The hotel is beautiful and the cottage is very picturesque with the Amboise Chateau in the background. The staff were very helpful and were able to give use restaurant recommendations and even drew them on a map for us. The room was lovely and spacious and very clean. One of the nicest places we stayed on our trip

Review 95:Nothing not to like!

Review 96:Very welcoming and beautiful manor house with ideal location - walk intotown and views of both the Loire River and Chateau d'Amboise. Alsohas parking around a lovely, lovely garden as you enter its enclosedcourtyard, with outdoor seating for warm weather. Two living roomsdownstairs for guests to relax and enjoy, wireless works flawlessly, andbreakfasts are fabulous. Bathrooms are big and new. Staff invariablyfriendly and welcoming.

Review 97:There was nothing to dislike. The Hotel is number one rated out of thirty three hotels in the area. Amboise is an excellent place to explore the Loire Valley from. Altogether an excellent experience.

Review 98:Beautiful well maintained facilities. Attentive staff that made you feel at home. A lot of little thoughtful things that added to the experience like telling the restaurant that they recommended to give my wife and I a special dessert to celebrate her birthday.

Review 99:nothing i did not like

Review 100:The staff, the first ones to help carry the bags as there are no lifts in a lot of the hotels.Very friendly place to stay, rooms very clean and smell nice.

Review 101:Staff was very friendly, waited for us, we were late getting in. The Hotel was decorated beautifully and the room was very nice. Had a great night's sleep.

Review 102:Staff constantly told people that they could not eat or drink in there rooms. Did not like the "no wall" between bathroom and bedroom layout.

Review 103:On the river...Walking distance to a Chateau. but this Hotel is Not A Chateau.

Review 104:The Manor advertises free WiFi, but we found it difficult to get a proper internet connection in our room.

Review 105:We enjoyed the ambience of the Manor. Which is located right alongside the Loire river and is very quaint. The staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a lovely continental breakfast, which was typically French.

Review 106:Nothing to dislike. It would be nice to have tea/coffee making facilities.

Review 107:Great location, easy car parking onsite, beautiful building and garden, comfortable room, spacious bathroom, very comfortable bed and quality finishes.

Review 108:Only hesitation was that our particular room (24) had a hand held shower.

Review 109:Lovely property, very well maintained. Our room was very clean and comfortable. Good temperature control, ample space for the luggage and for us in the standard room on top floor. Saff is very helpful, friendly and very efficient. Exceptionally welcoming to English speaking guests for which we are most appreciative since our spoken French is limited.

Review 110:No adverse comments

Review 111:The staff we so helpful and friendly and made you feel very welcome. The breakfasts were delicious with plenty of choice ( for a continental ) and beautifully presented . Great off street parking.

Review 112:Leaving

Review 113:We liked the very spacious room, good view from our room, very quiet, having fought to find parking elsewhere onsite parking is a real luxury. English speaking staff. Good proximity to attractions. generous breakfast because we sometimes did not get lunch. the staffs tolerance of our very tourist questions.

Review 114:The bathroom was not as beautiful as the room. The toilet was very cramped.

Review 115:We loved the excellent service, the staff were very helpful and friendly. The interior and exterior design was beautiful!

Review 116:We were placed in the 'cottage' which is separate from the hoteland so good as its more proviate, but then the doors (think patiosdoors) to the cottage are all glass and if you do not close the curtainsto the doors people can pass by and see right into the room, which meanshaving the curtains closed all the time and lights on to get light. Thiswasn't a massive problem but made our room less private

Review 117:Great location in Ambroise right in front of the castle and the hotelwas excellent

Review 118:Beautiful small hotel outstanding location outstanding views great breakfast (additional charge) easy parking, walk to restaurants walk to Chateau Amboise walk to Chateau Clos Luce

Review 119:Can't complain as the price was right (promo for attic rooms), but if looking for a really great experience go for the deluxe or the suite. The attic while good was cosy and the ceilings were low..and two flight with no lift

Review 120:A lovely hotel, set beside the Castle walls, friendly staff and luxe rooms. Stayed on the 2nd floor attic room # 20, liked the bed, bathroom and view, loved the lounges downstairs and the fact that we got such a good deal on what would otherwise been over our budget. Highly recommend this hotel

Review 121:The decor and furniture of the whole hotel is very elegant in Frenchregency style. We made a last minute booking at a special rate for asuperior room and it was a real delight to stay there. The view from theroom of both Amboise Castle and Loire was wonderful and staff werefantastic. Lovely thick towels/robes and great bed. 2 minute walk togood restaurants. Breakfast at hotel was good. Parking excellent. Stayedfor 3 fabulous days.
