Reviews for Woodlands Guest House
Review 1:The location was perfect for a stoll down to the harbour. Our room was spotless and the owners were extremely nice. Excellent full English Breakfast included !!
Review 2:Kev and Mandy, although new to hospitality are very professional and seem relaxed, natural hosts. We would definitely stay there again should we ever re-visit Brixham. Kev's brekkies were particularly good!
Review 3:The steep hill up to the house was a bit off putting but we managed it. It would have been difficult if we had taken mother in law so I think it would be useful to mention somewhere that the location is up a steep hill, with steps to climb to get to the house but apart from that, we enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend it
Review 4:Close to town and Harbour with lovely sea view.
Review 5:Found Kevin and Mandy very well organised and helpful, knowledge of local area second to none. close to the Town and Harbour. Very Clean Very Helpful No hesitation to Stay again and recommend to anyone else. Keith Randall
Review 6:The car park at the rear was quite steep.
Review 7:the location was excellent, we felt very welcomed when we arrived, the room was to a very good standard and good value for money. Nothing was too much trouble for the B+B owners. We would stay at this guest out again and would recommend it to anyone.
Review 8:Not a problem for us,but on a steep hill and a lot of steps.
Review 9:Tray of fresh tea delivered to room on arrival.Spotlessly clean.Excellent breakfast cooking.Very comfortable beds.
Review 10:If there was one thing I would criticise would be that the property is on a hill side and could be a issue for the older and less mobile individual.
Review 11:Hospitality was second to none felt very much at home bot Kevin and Mandy where very accommodating with our requirements a very well run accommodation and a breakfast to match overall very satisfied with our stay.
Review 12:Hosts Kevin and Mandy are a lovely Couple. They looked after us very well and made us most welcome. Our room was spotlessly clean. With a brilliant view of Brixham Harbour.
Review 13:nothing yes the car park is steep but that's Brixham
Review 14:Kev, Oscar and Mandy were great hosts , Kev made us very welcome from the moment we arrived. Breakfast was great and room very nice no 4 with a great view and rooms kept spotless. Will for sure visit again thanks Mark and Alison
Review 15:Kevin and Mandy were excellent hosts and nothing you asked was to much for them to do for you. I would recommend anybody who wants to stay in the brixham area to check them out as no doubt we will be going back in the near future and will advise our friends where to stay when they travel down to the Torbay area com
Review 16:Everything about staying at Woodlands is great with comfortable room and tasty breakfast. A bit hilly climbing up from town but one gets used to it and it keeps you fit.
Review 17:No bad experience but would have given an " excellent" score for location if the Guest House had not been some way up quite a steep road. Did not actually affect us but could be a problem for someone with walking difficulties.
Review 18:We were lucky enough to have good weather for our short break so were able to enjoy nice walks around Brixham and obviously saw it at its best. Also our accommodation was scrupulously clean and the staff friendly and welcoming.
Review 19:Shower en suite room a bit small. Steep access for parking.
Review 20:Warm welcome. Good atmosphere. Lovely view from bedroom window. Cleanliness. Good breakfast
Review 21:No complaints at all.We had a fab stay in a really relaxed atmosphere.
Review 22:Lovely everything was above what we expected, warm welcome and beautiful room. Breakfast very good
Review 23:Friendly welcome, comfortable room with everything you could possibly want and more, generous and delicious breakfast including fresh fruit and a wide variety of choice, use of a residents lounge. I felt completely at home and well looked after.
Review 24:Nothing to dislike
Review 25:The warm, friendly host, the attention to detail in service and the comfort and cleanliness. Also the beautiful sea views from our room and the proximity of the town and harbour.
Review 26:We really liked that it was so close to the town centre - just a short walk down the hill. Breakfast was brilliant, as they clearly work hard to source excellent ingredients. They were so friendly and helpful. I received an email soon after booking advising me of the best route to avoid roadworks - very helpful.
Review 27:From the warm welcome to the delicious breakfast we enjoyed every detail. The owners have really worked hard to make sure everything is perfect for your stay including the wonderfully comfy bed, thick fluffy towels & even salsa music !!
Review 28:Many thanks to Kev for an excellent 2 night stay, breakfast superb and room spotless with everything you need in your accommodation , highly recommend this first class B&B.
Review 29:The owners of Woodlands are fantastic hosts made us feel welcome from the moment we stepped through the door . The location is good not more than a 5 to 10 minute walk to the Harbour . The room we had was fine for us and the view from the window was brilliant . The Woodlands is a little Haven would recommend this B&B to everyone .
Review 30:The car park was a little bit steep, but we saw this as a challenge. After all, this is Brixham!
Review 31:The hotel was very well located with only a short walk into Brixham. The room we stayed in (No.4) had fantastic views of the harbour and the bay area, even the fog which descended on our second day didn't spoil it! Kev was a fantastic host and couldn't have done more to ensure both myself and my wife had a great stay. The room was kept spotlessly clean and I'd highly recommend the Woodlands to anybody planning on staying in the town. I almost forgot to mention the breakfast, which was excellent really hit the spot. A great stay!
Review 32:Nothing negative
Review 33:owners were very friendly, facilities very good. Excellent breakfast..........too much!!!!...lol. Highly recommended. For the money, it's really superb.
Review 34:Only negative was poor wifi signal in the room - but wifi still available downstairs.
Review 35:Great welcome. Spotlessly clean. Great room. Very comfy bed. Super breakfast.
Review 36:Off road car parking is down a steep ramp which could be tricky in a large car
Review 37:Woodlands Guest House represents everything you want and expect, welcoming hosts, lovely room/facilities and great breakfast. Positioned 5-10 min walk to harbour in quite location
Review 38:Only the steepness of the drive to the car park!!!
Review 39:A lovely guest house, very helpful, friendly owners, bent over backwards to help me with an early breakfast and late removal of car from the car park. Clean room, beautiful thick, soft towels. Soap provided (very rare today). Characterful. Right in the town centre. Excellent breakfast, including fresh pineapple and melon (as well as a superb bacon sandwich!!)
Review 40:The only downside was the car park. It took me three attempts to get up the very steep hill when we were leaving. Next time I think I would park on the road in front.
Review 41:The service was great, particularly the fact that they allowed us to check in early. We also loved the cafetiere of fresh coffee that was delivered to the room shortly after we arrived. Bed was very comfy and the towels were super soft.
Review 42:Car park was a little scary - down a 45degree hill but worth it
Review 43:The bedroom had everything you could want. Breakfast was lovely. Owners couldn'tt do enough for us.
Review 44:It was on a very steep hill parking facilities at the back wasn't good at all had to drive down a very steep dirt track
Review 45:The accomadation was very clean breakfast was very good very friendly
Review 46:Mattress was a little too firm for our liking.
Review 47:Staff were friendly and helpful in every way. Loved the location and views from breakfast room, we would definitely stay again!
Review 48:unfortunately there is a lot of steps but they helped with luggage
Review 49:they were very friendly and the rooms were very comfortable food and facility very good
Review 50:The b & b was excellent and the owners very welcoming. The b & b was well situated for the harbour. There were several very nice restaurants at the harbour. Plenty of gift shops and art galleries. We had a great weekend.
Review 51:The guesthouse and rooms are very clean and well-presented; hosts were very attentive; good breakfast; good position with lovely view from the bedroom
Review 52:Having to order what you wanted for breakfast the night before - bit of a throw back to B & B's in the 1970's. It isnt difficult or time consuming to cook breakfast foods and I never know what I want until I get up. The access to the car park at the rear is very awkward and tight and the rough surface on the (steep) slope to the car park is a challenge! If the car park is full though the owner may obtain a permit for on road parking which may be preferable.
Review 53:Our room and the hotel in General was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated. Although our room was described as a small double there was ample storage and wardrobe space, although my tall husband had to manoeuvre with care around the bottom of the bed ! The shower and WC were en suite but the hand basin was in the room. There was ample tea and coffee making facilities in the room and the mini fridge and wine glasses on the tray were a nice touch. There was a nice selection of tea bags, fruit teas and biscuits supplied. The breakfasts were delicious and there was a good choice of cereals and fresh fruits.
Review 54:No complaints. Brixham is very hilly so all guest houses are built on steep roads.
Review 55:Great stay with excellent breakfast. Nothing was too much trouble. House was spotless and homely.
Review 56:Towels not big and thick enough and needed to be changed every day. Entrance to car park terrible but there was nowhere else to park! Didn't like having to choose breakfast the night before. The small double room is really too small for a couple and the wash hand basin being in the actual bed room was not very convenient.
Review 57:Breakfast was excellent
Review 58:the room, the breakfast, the cleanliness, the friendliness of the owners, the location, the view from our room and luckily for us the weather was brilliant too, highly recommended.
Review 59:The parking at the rear was so steep. It was a bit of a white knuckle ride to reach the car park. Also tricky to get back up the slope.
Review 60:Very pretty house with perfect views over the harbour. Beds were very cimfortable. Great choice of breakfasts. Paul and Rita were friendly and accomodating.
Review 61:There is a cat - my allergies caused me issues Steep walk back from town! Access route to parking is not for people who don't usually drive on little country lanes - ha ha!
Review 62:Breakfast options are great Excellent room Good decor View from breakfast room Short downhill walk to town
Review 63:Access to the car park was a bit hairy but a challenge that Des was able to rise to. for some reason we were unable to a get wi fi from the chalet but not a major problem because we could in the guest house lounge which was ok
Review 64:Absolutely everything, tranquil chalet with everything we needed, Breakfast was Incredible and the choice was varied and the fact that you ordered it the night before was a good idea that we liked, The weather was fantastic that also added to the wonderful time we had
