Reviews for Hostal La Giralda

Review 1:The single room was small, just enough room for the single bed and mini-fridge, but the balcony made it perfect! Very clean, very hospitable, short walk to the waterfront.

Review 2:The fridge in the room mentioned by others was a convenience yet it can be noisy at times (saying that, I was pleased to hear my feedback was taken in account by the management so it might be solved by now)

Review 3:The location is great if you want to go El Chorrillo beach, visit Rota shopping area or connect or go to other beaches. The speed of the WiFi connection was fantastic (the faster I ever had in any place I stayed). The breakfast is simple yet it is priced accordingly. The room faciliteis are basic. It is not a 5 stars hotel though it doesn't pretend to be either. Hard to beat value for money.

Review 4:Very polite staff; sparkling clean room with en suite; private balcony; A/C; drop down shutters to darken room; reception staffed 24 hours; felt very secure.

Review 5:We decided for this hostel because of the good reviews, but we were a little disappointed. We have stayed in many places around Andalucia and this one was the worst and the most expensive (74€/night for a double room). The room had a small view to the other building, and the window does not isolate noise from the street (even with window shutter), so I suggest you take the earplugs for a better sleep. The bathroom is OK but very small. The refrigerator was loud. The breakfast is the same every day; toasted breadroll, packed butter, packed strawberry jam, juice and coffee.

Review 6:Easy to find, near the centre and the beach. Air condition works, the staff is friendly but does not understand/speak english. The room has a refrigerator.

Review 7:I have stayed in three star hotels for the same amount of money per night, albeit off-season.

Review 8:The guy at the reception desk was very friendly and helpful. The hostel was very clean. Very close to the beach. Nice garden for breakfast.

Review 9:Location. Strong, hot shower. Super friendly. Room with balcony so I could smoke without leaving the room. Small room not for large people, fine for me, 5'9", 170 pounds.

Review 10:Small hostal located centrally in Rota but a distance from the bars thus quiet. Very friendly and helpful owner/staff and the room had a fridge! short walk to the beach and easy to park.

Review 11:Appreciated the friendly staff and modest accommodations. Very close and easy walking to everything I needed!

Review 12:Nothing at all.

Review 13:Great place convenient location. Clean, comfortable and very nice continental breakfast.

Review 14:the bed to sleep

Review 15:friendly staff

Review 16:Location

Review 17:nothing

Review 18:Friendly Staff, excellent location, 2 blocks from beach, central, close to night life

Review 19:Nothing. Hands down best value.

Review 20:Fernando was above and beyond!!! He couldn't do enough to help us. He absolutely single handed made this a wonderful place to go.

Review 21:The weather. But that's not the fault of the hotel.

Review 22:Excuse my English, i'm a Ducht speaking person. The owner is a very helpfull and friendly man who knows a lot about everything. I had the single room with the terras just abouve the entrance. I was lovely to be outside and able to work until very late. Wi-Fi connection is very good. The breakfast was cheap and very lovely. Fresh fruit, local products, toast,... The flavours were like the colours of the nature in Spain : very intense. The hotel is located close to everything, but just far enough to ensure your piece during the night. Loved it!!

Review 23:Not enough double beds most rooms have two twins.

Review 24:This little hotel is a gem in the midst of Rota. The staff are willing to help you get anything you need from wine glasses to recommendations for shopping and restaurants. We had read many negative reviews about the rooms, the fans, beds, hot water and now after the 4 of us have stayed in 3 rooms each over 3 stays we can tell you none of those were found while we were here.

Review 25:There was a ceiling fan in the room. No air condition or it wasn't working properly, so it was hot in the room and difficult to fall asleep.

Review 26:Location, friendliness of staff. Good restaurants nearby. Cafeteria across the street.

Review 27:One small thing, the fact that someone had to open the door for me every time I came in, I just felt bad for the guy who had to as there was no apparent reason to keep the door locked at all time.

Review 28:Cleam room, nice location, just away from the more busy area but everything is close at hand when you need it. No breakfast but a good bakery shop right on the other side of the street.

Review 29:The room was small but , I've stayed in smaller tourist hotels in the past. Also the ceiling fan in our room was noisy.

Review 30:The hostel was In a good location for us, we flew into the naval air base and needed a place to stay for one night while we made plans for further travel. It was clean and the right price for one night. There is also a nice cafe across the street.

Review 31:the ground floor room was a little noisy at night and there was a small green at the back where locals walked their dogs etc and the barking and fighting of dogs could be a bit disturbing at times. this was beyond the control of the hotel owners. I would ask for a first floor room next time.

Review 32:location - in terms of being walking distance to beach, bars, shops etc

Review 33:Nothing!

Review 34:Everything!

Review 35:The location was ideal for me, being located half way between Base Naval de Rota and the beach.

Review 36:Bathroom was small and the shower head was in need of replacement.

Review 37:Convenient, Price, Location

Review 38:location, my little balcony

Review 39:I didn't like the smell which reminded me of an ope drain!!!!!

Review 40:Close to Rota Naval station base
