Reviews for Manoir Du Parc

Review 1:The cottage was not well equipped for self catering. The apartments were below standard. The one member of staff we spoke to was never there and not interested with any problems we had.

Review 2:The location . The grounds.

Review 3:GREAT location to restaurants, shopping, and sites. A VERY warm and accommodating hostess. She gladly assisted us, with calling Visa, when we had our credit card declined the previous evening, while dining out. A lovely breakfast was served of coffee, pastries, ham, cheese and yogurt.

Review 4:When they say check in starts at 4:30, they mean 4:30. Couldn't get in earlier. Was able to leave car and walk elsewhere until staff opened up.

Review 5:Close to royal chateau. Breakfast generous. Converted manor had gracious ambiance.

Review 6:The owner did not bother to ask if you I enjoyed the accommôdation. There was several areas lacking. The facilities were sub standard. I travel to Europe every year, and the service provided was not good. We came to France to holiday in their country. Does Gail not want Australian tourists

Review 7:The location is wonderful. We love Amboise.

Review 8:Not serviced, towels were threadbare, no mirrors other than in bathroom, very set times for reception. Expensive compared to serviced hotels in the area.

Review 9:Location was very central and the owner was extremely helpful.

Review 10:Breakfast option for self catering, served in a lovely basket but mainly bread, coissants and jams, would have liked some fresh fruit, ham and cheese and fresh coffee. For the price the cabin could have been more luxurious as fixtures and fittings a bit dated.

Review 11:Really lovely setting and views, friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast for hotel guest really good.

Review 12:The apartment was excellent- there was everything we needed. It was good to be so close to town. Amboise is a great place to visit for a couple of days- the chateau is stunning and the home of Leonardo Da Vinci is also well worth a visit.

Review 13:Nothing

Review 14:A beautiful classic French town house, classically furnished. It had the feeling of staying as a guest in a private house. The owner was delightful - spoke good English but addressed us slowly and clearly in French to acknowledge our shortcomings in that department! Nice and plentiful breakfast. Very comfortable room with a view over the town (Room 1). Good location near the town centre ans only a short walk from the Chateau and the Clos Luce (Da Vinci's house). Small but clean swimming pool with good seating area.

Review 15:Well, the pool wasn't really delivering the 27 degrees we were told to expect but it was a good pool nevertheless, and very pleasant at the end of a hot day.

Review 16:Perfect location, very large family room in main building with castle view, secure parking, warm welcome from the owner, beautiful breakfasts with fresh bread and pastries.

Review 17:Wonderful stay in the studio. We had thoughtful and kind assistance from all of the staff. Gaelle was delightful. Location is perfect for a stroll back from dinner. Be sure to order the breakfast basket at least once if you stay in cottages or studio.

Review 18:Large, comfortable and well equipped room. An excellent and quiet location, tucked away yet only a few minutes walk from the centre of Amboise. Delicious and plentiful breakfast, charming staff and lovely gardens with swimming pool.

Review 19:Heated pool was cooler than we expected.

Review 20:Arrived slightly earlier than check in but the owners were very welcoming and checked us in early. Very helpful Fab French breakfast

Review 21:8 night stay was too long in a cabin. Air conditioning Poor. Isolated from hotel therefore no real contact with hosts. Room cleaned once but any extra would have been charged. Wi fi only worked near hotel.

Review 22:Located near the centre of Amboise, very quiet. Log cabins with private hot tub set in the grounds of the hotel. Facilities good.

Review 23:The self catering room was too small for comfort. We were told that all were the same size but that did not appear to be the case. The walk into town could be problematic with very narrow footpaths and busy traffic. When we arrived around 10.30 on one night the owners churlishly refused to open the locked gate telling us to use a public car park near the town instead. A little less indifference on the part of the owners would have improved the overall experience.

Review 24:Hotel is located in attractive gardens about 10 minutes walk from the centre of Amboise. There is a nice swimming pool and tables in the garden for breakfast or drinks. Car parking is available on site

Review 25:Only that the beds were a bit harder than we like but that is entirely personal preference. Also having the pool open for longer hours (currently between 1200 and 2000) would have been nice but we just adjusted our day to suit - neither of these are meant to be negative but just comments for information to other travellers - don't let it out you off as this is an absolute jewel!

Review 26:We had a fantastic time here, very helpful hosts with good English, lovely accommodation and perfectly placed close to Amboise centre. There were three generations visiting with ages ranging from 9 to 82 and we all loved it. Reviews re intermittent wifi unfounded as long as you were in the wifi lounge. Jacuzzi, pool, house and grounds immaculate - we all absolutely loved it here!

Review 27:Unusually when having a self-catering apartment, there was no welcome pack. Having to beg for extra toilet roll. Tiny shower room & only the one tiny mirror in the tiny shower room. No 'in room' instructions regarding entry by car after 7pm! Had to dispose of own rubbish as room/towels only refreshed once in six days. As self catering, it would have been nice to use the BBQ but it was stuffed full of plastic bags.

Review 28:Location was excellent. Communal gardens and pool area had potential, and were kept very clean.

Review 29:I arrived by train from Paris at 12.30 pm. I was not informed that reception was not open until 16.40 pm, so had to wait for four hours until I could access my room.

Review 30:The swimming pool

Review 31:Narrow hotel entrance from a narrow busy road but ample parking on site. Self catering facilities a bit meagre but good room overall.

Review 32:Pleasant view from room over nice gardens with swimming pool.

Review 33:Reception closed from 11.00 until 16.30 and from 19.00. No access to room until 16.30 Swimming pool closed until mid-day (daytime temp was 38 degrees) No porter for baggage (about 1/4 mile on gravel and uphill

Review 34:The cabin was roomy and comfortable

Review 35:The hostess Gaelle was so lovely and helpful. She really made our stay an absolutely delightful experience. The accommodation was charming, the beds comfortable, the facilities perfect. We would love to stay here again.

Review 36:Creaky floorboards but old property and probably not easy to stop! Garden could be improved!

Review 37:Easy walk to Amboise and attractions. Lovely breakfast. Nice swimming pool.

Review 38:Manoir du parc is within walking distance to the main street, the castle and Clos Luce. There is ample parking and a pool. We had a guest house with private jacuzzi and picnic table. It was in a park like setting yet off the beaten path. They also offer a breakfast basket that's nice to have at the outside tables.

Review 39:electrical sockets above cooker loose and no hair dryer

Review 40:Able to walk into town with good selection of restaurants. Whole property was very clean and nice garden and pool. Hosts very friendly and helpful. Would recommend this accommodation if you are planning to visit the Loire.

Review 41:Nothing not to like!

Review 42:Very close to attractions. The manor house was older, very lovely with antiques, clean and well maintained. Modern bathrooms and rooms were surprisingly large. Breakfast in the dinning room was delicious. Private parking. Madame was extremely helpful and pleasant. WiFi was strong and reliable. We enjoyed a picnic dinner in the gardens. Oh! the view of Chateau Amboise!

Review 43:The location is great and the grounds are deceptively large. It is a nice oasis to return to. The cabins are big and secluded and the large balcony and hot-tub deck makes it easy to relax. Expensive but worth the money if you are looking for a treat while exploring the area.

Review 44:Pool is only open from 12-8. Hotel pools are most useful in the morning or evening so didn't get to use it at all and it was quite hot on the days we were there.

Review 45:Lovely older style accomodation.

Review 46:The cottage was on the road would have preferred further back in the grounds where it was quieter.. there are other rooms but not suitable for our needs.. Lady was really helpful with this but we were not able to move. Could have done with more draws in the bedrooms

Review 47:We loved the town of Amboise and the castle. The cottage and swimming pool were lovely and the lady there very helpful A great place to stay..

Review 48:No wifi in cabins, jacuzzi area could have been a bit more comfortable, could do with comfy chairs on balcony

Review 49:Location, quiet yet 5 minutes from the town

Review 50:Only downside is its quite pricey when you consider two people sleep on a sofa bed but the facilities and hot tub made up for this! Also it was not that clear in my booking that is was for 4 people so I can to clarify after provisional booking but think this is a problem with the info on booking.com

Review 51:We stayed in the self catering cottage with a hot tub. 4 of us stayed and we had one bedroom and a sofa bed. The place was very well equipped and clean including really nice touches such as bathrobes and wine in the fridge on arrival. The owners/staff were very friendly and accomodating. The location was perfect for walking into Amboise with plenty of restaurants etc nearby. The hot tub was also lovely and great after a long day out exploring. Would recommend.

Review 52:TV didn't work and trouble with washing machine although that could have been my fault with lack of French. A list of instructions would be very helpful to guests on how appliances work.

Review 53:A lovely little cottage, very private, great kitchen facilities and very clean. Close to town and easy walk. Nice sheltered courtyard and pool area good. Overall a nice place but expensive.

Review 54:TheThe house is superbly renovated and rum immaculately. It is still an old house with squeaky floors and a 3 section stair to the rooms, but all important elements are new and installed with a craftsmanship seldom witnessed at French B&Bs The staff is friendly, and genially wishes to make Your stay a pleasant one. house is superbly renovated and rum immaculately

Review 55:The Manoir was a friendly relaxed hotel with great feel . The owners were exceedingly helpful. It's close proximity to the town centre made access great but was an oasis also !A unique

Review 56:No air con so left windows open and were plagued with flies

Review 57:Lovely gardens and pool area. Only 5 minutes from centre restaurants and chateau. Parking free and easy.

Review 58:We found that when we arrived at Manoir du Parc, we had lost one of our passports. The proprietor could not have been more sympathetic or helpful than she was, and when the passport was found after a day, she was as happy as we were! Exceptional in this emergency response, and in every other way as a bed and breakfast experience.

Review 59:Very pleasant and helpful hostess who gave recommendations for nice restaurants. Clean and comfortable room. Convenient location with parking. Great breakfast with delicious fruit cup. Would highly recommend staying at this pleasant B&B.

Review 60:Wifi could be better.

Review 61:Treat yourself to this terrific unit with the hot tub. Great value and a great place to come back to after sightseeing. Very private. Good value breakfast extra.

Review 62:The wifi/internet only worked for a couple of hours despite being advertised. There should be mention of steps and stairs which make it difficult for limited mobility persons. Breakfast basket could have been included in the price.

Review 63:Five minutes walk from castle. Quiet location. Large well kept gardens. Very clean room, lovely communal lounge downstairs. Excellent swimming pool, good parking area. Friendly reception with ENGLISH spoken. Would recommend.

Review 64:We did not have a car and did not need one--everything was just a few minutes walk. We would have loved to stay longer. The garden outside our window was lovely. Everything was well cared for and comfortable.

Review 65:The owners were friendly and helpful in recommending restaurants. The location was walking distance to everything we wanted to see in Amboise. It was great having safe, easy parking onsite.

Review 66:Would have liked the option of cooked breakfast even just simple scrambled eggs etc. bathroom a little small but perfectly clean and functional

Review 67:Lovely staff, simple but tasty breakfast, great location - an easy walk to the town centre. Comfy bed!

Review 68:Room door was a little tricky to get locked and unlocked.

Review 69:For the rate on a small room a continental breakfast would have been nice. Instead IF you want a small continental breakfast you have to tell them in advance and pay 7€ per person. It is a good location for walking places we wanted to go.

Review 70:I was in the bldg separate from the main house so I didn't really get to enjoy any of the house amenities. Narrow winding creaky staircase to upper level - I only carried necessities for evening!

Review 71:Easy secure parking, walking distance to everything, clean, well appointed, from window garden looked nice. I was only here for one night, would have been great for longer stay, but in main house.

Review 72:Wifi was ok, not great, but wasn't critical for our stay. Tight kitchen facilities. Eat in the courtyard instead.

Review 73:The couple was very supportive in answering questions and getting services provided. Enjoyed the location very much. The courtyard was excellent. Walking distance to a lot of sites and restaurants in town.

Review 74:Loved the location and beautiful setting. Staff went out of their way to help make our stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. room was beautiful and everything was so clean!

Review 75:absolutely nothing...the only complaint could be the separate toilet but that's France; at least the toilet cabin has a sink. Trivial; could use few more hangers.

Review 76:The location, the hospitality of Mdm.Bidault, old world charm of the rooms (the main building), the wonderful breakfast and the beautiful garden ...

Review 77:Lovely place, location, green area surrounding the rooms and chalets 7 minute walk to the city center. Parking on promise is free. Quiet, clean, calm what else is needed for a relaxing stay after a busy day tourist Merci beaucoup Gaelle for the hospitality, of course we will certainly recommend this hotel to our friends and will definitely go again We had a split level condo with kitchenette with good WiFi.

Review 78:We had a charming studio with a kitchen - very quiet. Free parking on site, near the middle of town, super-clean, easy walk to town and restaurants. Lovely garden on the grounds, nice pool. Great value for the money. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Review 79:We loved our room (no 3) looking out over the gardens. We enjoyed using the pool as the weather was quite warm while we were there. Gayle our host helped us with recommendations for restaurants and provided us with cutlery & crockery for a picnic in the garden. We were able to walk to the town centre, the Chateau & Clos Luce. We really enjoyed our stay.

Review 80:The limited check in times. We arrived after a long drive between the allocated check in times in the morning and afternoon. We could not have access to our room for another 2.5 hours. When we turned up at 4.30pm to check in we discovered that the lady checking us in had disappeared and that there was a queue of about 10 guests all waiting to check in also! We then lost another 30 minutes waiting for our turn. The lady checking guests in was then flustered and rushing about trying to clear the backlog. She continued to text a friend on her phone whilst waiting for her PC to boot up which did not impress us! There is no on site emergency assistance either.

Review 81:I liked the privacy of the tree house we were based in but it was pure luck that we had one not shrouded in the trees. If so then there would not have been much daylight. I liked having a private balcony on which to eat and relax. The standard of the fixtures and fittings were very good and the accommodation was comfortable and tastefully furnished. The kitchenette was well supplied with facilities for basic catering. The communal swimming pool was very well maintained and peaceful.

Review 82:Although we only stayed for one night everything was excellent. My wife was unwell and the Owners couldn't have been more helpful and kind. Thank you both

Review 83:The room was a bit awkward to get into and the stairway had this very strange off putting smell. However, once in the room it was very nice. The shower was very small in our room.

Review 84:The hotel is in a great location relative to the town. Only a short walk to the main streets of the town. The staff were very friendly and helpful with all our enquiries. They gave us very good recommendations on local restaurants.

Review 85:It was a bit difficult to find as the building is set back from the road and driving past it is easy to miss the entrance. But that may be because of old age on our part!

Review 86:Position, just a few minutes walk into Amboise. The owners, friendly and helpful and speaking very good English. Very clean, with room tastefully furnished and a comfy bed. Breakfast was plentiful with a choice of pastries or bread and ham or cheese if wanted. Above all the character; it is a late C19 hotel with parquet flooring, high ceilings and a lovely change from C21 chain hotels. This was one of the best hotels we have ever visited and would recommend it unhesitatingly.

Review 87:The limited reception opening times added stress to the long journey there, but I think the staff are flexible if you give them notice. Other than that no negatives.

Review 88:Lovely pool, comfortable studio with well equipped kitchenette. Within easy reach of town by foot. Very nice people.

Review 89:The manager is absolutely a gem. She was so welcoming, helpful with suggestions and directions, and even encouraging in my use of French. Nice room, clean, and quiet.

Review 90:The chalet was beautiful as well as being very comfortable and clean. Also is totally private being surrounded by large trees. Would highly recommend Manoir du Parc.

Review 91:Peaceful setting yet a short walk from shops and restaurants. No need to use car while there - a good thing given Amboise parking! Private hot tub very enjoyable (particularly when enjoyed with a glass of the local fizz) as well as an immaculate pool.

Review 92:Our internet was not working for an evening and night when we really needed it. The kitchen facilities are minimal.

Review 93:This hotel, about 10 minutes walk from the chateau and river, offers free secure parking and a heated pool.

Review 94:No TV or aircon (it was very warm at night). The double room was musty with no windows in the bathroom. Expensive given the size / quality of the room.

Review 95:The triple room was light and airy with views of the chateau. Madame, who ran the older (4 room) building, was very friendly and professional. Breakfast was good.

Review 96:Staying in the stable is nice and quite but there's an odor reminiscent of old stable setting (horses and all)

Review 97:Location Friendly service Value for money

Review 98:Good parking in locked car park , unfortunately surfaced in gravel, but not difficult. Nice gardens and a short walk to the town. Room had sink, kettle and microwave. So we bought food at the supermarket and ate lunch in the garden

Review 99:Nothing ( no TV) but we didn't seem to miss.

Review 100:Beautiful old hotel/house and gardens/pool would recommend. Excellent breakfast. Near the fabulous residence of Da Vinci.

Review 101:Entrance to studio a little dark. Carrfour is a good 15 mins walk. Shops 10 mins walk.

Review 102:10 mins walk from town centre, 5 mins from Chateau, outside swimming pool, free car park ( locked at night ), friendly staff, Self catering ( although did not use).

Review 103:We found the "loo in the wardrobe" arrangement a little less than ideal.

Review 104:The decor was delightful and the welcome was warm. Very comprehensive breakfast too, beautifully presented.

Review 105:Annex accommodation was ok but a bit cramped for two and kitchen area tiny. Have to pay extra if you want your room cleaned or fresh towels, which considering the price I feel should be included. No breakfast option if staying in the annex.

Review 106:The location and grounds are good. Nice swimming pool and staff very helpful.

Review 107:Location right in the centre of town and having parking on site. Lovely gardens with pool, spa and offers different types of accommodation Gail the lady who runs the Manoir is very friendly and helpful.

Review 108:The owners of the hotel really love their job and make every effort to make you feel comfortable. The room was very clean and well decorated. The grounds of the hotel were well groomed with beautiful trees and flowers and a large swimming pool. The location was perfect for walking to the sites, restaurants and for walking along the river. Our family of 3 loved our stay there!

Review 109:Difficult to get the temperature in the shower just right and the temperature changed from time to time without any other taps in the studio being run. Decor was a bit bland.

Review 110:Very comfortable bed. 5-7 min walk to chateau. Quiet and had a proper shutter on the window so we weren't woken by either light or noise.

Review 111:I didnt like sharing the breakfast table but thats my thing

Review 112:Location was great. Excellent parking. Lovely open pool out back. The whole place is spotless. Wifi is excellent. The breakfast is very good.

Review 113:None

Review 114:The apartment was a few minutes from the castle and great places to eat. The grounds are lovely and a great place to have a glass of wine after a full day of site seeing. Hostess was very helpful with great dinner suggestions. Le Patio is a must. I would go back in a heart beat.

Review 115:Beautiful old house on the outskirts of Amboise, perfect location with secure parking only a few minutes walk to centre of the town. The apartment was very comfortable and had everything that we required for our stay.

Review 116:Very thin walls, could hear all conversations early in the morning.

Review 117:Nice outlook to garden & able to open windows for fresh air.

Review 118:Location. Helpful lady who ran the place. Excellent breakfast. Parking. Stylish. Classy.

Review 119:My husband and I loved the ambience and atmosphere of the house. Gail was very helpful and the breakfast was delicious and plentiful.

Review 120:Very small shower recess and dangerous entry to room with a lack of reliable lighting in a dark stairwell.

Review 121:Location and cleanliness.

Review 122:Great location, pretty town to base yourself in.
