Reviews for Manor Inn Galmpton

Review 1:Chris the boss cared for our every need he was a great host. Linda did us a great breakfast and looked after our room very clean and tidy so I can't thank them enough for looking after us

Review 2:We stayed there overnight as we had been to a party locally. We were very pleased with everything, in particular the breakfast and the service from the waitress. She did everything to make us comfortable.

Review 3:Room to hot kept me awake.couldnt open window due to noise from street.

Review 4:Good size room.Staff helpful.Lady that greeted and made our breakfast, wonderful.

Review 5:We enjoyed the friendly atmosphere within the pub, especially John and Chris and staff and thoroughly enjoyed Linda's superb full English breakfast..Would highly recommend

Review 6:A charming and delightful Inn with excellent food and service. The bedrooms were very nicely appointed and very clean. The decor was well thought out and of quality as were the furnishings. Breakfast was very good and so was the service given - very friendly and attentive.

Review 7:The staff were very friendly and helpful even though there was a wedding on. When we went to bed the disco was in full swing but we heard nothing at all in our room, must have good soundproofing. Had a great meal in the evening with plenty of choice and likewise breakfast.

Review 8:Our room - no 3 - was small however it was still good value for money.

Review 9:The staff were really lovely. The room was nicely furnished and spotlessly clean

Review 10:Manor Inn was a perfect place to stay; peaceful, good location, food and staff excellent, room good size and comfortable and we would certainly return there on our next trip to Devon.

Review 11:The room was far too small for a double bed. Very noisy as you are above a very busy local pub, woken up at 7am as the village were preparing for a harvest festival at the pub. Nowhere to store suitcases as room was too small.

Review 12:Staff were friendly.

Review 13:The rooms we excellent , very friendly couldn't do enough for us, only stayed one night as on our way for a family wedding but would definitely stay here again if ever we are down this way.

Review 14:The whole stay and experience was just perfect. Thank you!

Review 15:Friendly and accommodating staff. Clean, spacious and comfortable room. Would definitely recommend.

Review 16:The volume of the microphone on quiz night - we could hear it coming down the road and all through the floor of the bedroom when we got into the room.I am sure it could be adjusted so taht it would not be too intrusive and yet customers still hear the questions. Could have been embarrassing had we left without paying. The Booking .com printout appeared to show we had paid in advance but we had not. That is down to meand booking.com not the hotel.

Review 17:Easily accessible. Large comfortable family room. Good food and pleasant staff.

Review 18:Service in the restaurant during the evening meal was a bit off and staff appeared a bit aggressive which we couldn't understand. Wi-Fi was poor but that isn't unexpected in a location like this.

Review 19:Good sized clean room and bathroom. Excellent food. Linda was an exceptional hostess in the morning and cooked us the best breakfast we'd ever had. She showed real interest in our holiday and gave advice on where to visit. She also phoned and booked us a parking space in a local attraction the we wanted to visit.

Review 20:Bed was a bit squeaky

Review 21:Friendliness of bar staff and attention right from first meet. Accomodating to get me a meal after a very long day with no food. chef produced scampi and chips after last service which was very welcome and very tasy. Locals in bar area supportive of giving directions better than any sat nav!! Good nights sleep darkness in roo just right low level noise evan though I was in bed before closing. Bathroom and shower clean and well stocked lady in the morning for breakfast very chatty pleasant.

Review 22:bedroom No 3 was too small, not much thought went into the planning of this room. It should only be a single room with a proper wardrobe and table for boiling kettle......this is dangerous.

Review 23:The breakfast was very good value. Staff friendly and helpful.

Review 24:Dinner on first night was terrible and this includes the lack lustre service. The noise from the jukebox/one arm bandit heard from our room from 11am to 11pm every day was barely tolerable.

Review 25:Location and Linda and her breakfasts. She is a major asset to an otherwise very average Inn

Review 26:Not a very warm welcome. Had to stand at the bar waiting for someone to help us. A woman took us up to the room but didn't tell us that the kitchen was closing at 8.30pm. Also, they were having a quiz and it would have been nice to have been invited to join in.

Review 27:The lady who does breakfast was lovely. Very friendly and helpful.

Review 28:The hostess at breakfast was a lovely lady who took time to get to know us and took our order for breakfast each morning and delivered all breakfast items with a smile. The family room was very nicely decorated and was comfortable and clean with new shower room suite.

Review 29:Busy pub which did mean a certain amount of noise which was acceptable to us because the customers were enjoying themselves but would probably not suit a younger couple with children

Review 30:Room was spacious and clean. Great breakfast

Review 31:Room was a bit small but we did book quite late and the room next door was a lot bigger but was comfortable

Review 32:All of it was great staff very friendly breakfast was lovely

Review 33:Only a very minor mention about the shower in our bathroom, it was electric and not much power unless you turned the hot down/cold up.

Review 34:Very welcoming place. Good atmosphere. Lovely bedroom (room 4), with huge super king bed! Thursday night was Steak night - very reasonable, followed by quiz night. Great breakfast. Free Wifi in rooms

Review 35:book in advance if you want to eat nowhere else close and pub too busy to accommodate us

Review 36:room number 5 is fantastic. we were made to feel most welcome by both staff and locals. great base for getting around the surrounding area better than in middle of a resort

Review 37:Terribly soft mattress- like sleeping on marshmallow! Limited choice on the menu for vegetarians, although some on offer. Bit snug at breakfast with other guests, you do know everyone's plans for the day!

Review 38:Lovely location in a beautiful village. (This is the only pub in the village- so locals and guests in the large pub which has a nice atmosphere.) Friendly staff, good food, real ales. Nice clean room and bathroom, ample parking onsite.

Review 39:Room 3 is small and very warm you must book a table for the evening it is the only pub in the village and very popular but this does not mean that it is noisey at night

Review 40:Good food Linda's brekfast was brilliant you could have anything you wanted and the most perfect poached eggs ever

Review 41:As a pub which serves food, it is very busy, we had to wait and hour before our starter arrived. Was very busy and a b/hol weekend, more staff would have been useful as they had big parties booked in.

Review 42:Excellent bedroom and breakfast for the price

Review 43:large room with very high quality fittings and finish - v friendly staff - traditional pub with heaps of atmosphere - v friendly and well managed - recommend highly

Review 44:Long wait for our meal in the evening, but there was a large party dining as well. Both meals were very tasty but mine was warm rather than hot. I chose to eat it because I had waited long enough, and an apology was promptly forthcoming when I mentioned it.

Review 45:Very friendly welcome and attention during our stay, small but very comfortable room, newly refurbished bathroom, wifi. Hairdryer next to a mirror (not in the bathroom) as well as a socket for your own - incredible - that doesn't happen often!!! The best breakfast ever!! Would definitely stay again.

Review 46:No complaints at all, just gutted I couldn't stay for breakfast.

Review 47:The pub itself is lovely, really friendly with great staff, and the separate B&B entrance means you can come and go without having to go through the bar.

Review 48:TV was not located by either the bed end or in front of the seating so much like a chocolate teapot

Review 49:Breakfast is great, staff are very helpful and food is good

Review 50:It's a pub, not a bijou hotel, and the decor is tired. Take it or leave, because this is where the locals (and the dog) come of an evening like they used to do in every English village. But everything is clean and comfortable and new for guests at the Inn.

Review 51:Everything that could be expected had been thoughtfully provided for Guests, and we really felt we were welcome. Large car park, always a must in rural Cornwall. The evening grill was superbly cooked and arrived in a trice, despite the pub doing a roaring trade for a Monday, yet even that was outdone by Linda's breakfast offerings!

Review 52:Nothing

Review 53:We had mislaid my husbands jacket and so called to see if we had left it there.they called us back to say they had found it and kindly sent it back to us.they couldn't have been more friendly and helpful through out our stay.food was excellent and plentiful.

Review 54:great place to stay , very friendly staff who were more than happy to help, fantastic food in the restaurant , good beer at the bar , a warm and comfortable room and a wonderful breakfast in the morning . we have already recommended it and will be staying again

Review 55:Two things only: the shower was poor; it had the strength of a watering can. There was a bad draught from the window just above the bed that penetrated if the curtains open.

Review 56:Linda was a warm and friendly host. Breakfast superb - I could choose my own combination each day as do not eat meat and the portion was huge! Bed really comfy. Location was great - good for Greenway and Coleton Fishacre and surrounding towns. Wifi worked well with only the odd glitch. Room small but this was reflected in the price.

Review 57:Given what I paid, few complaints! There are two: the shower was pretty bad, like a watering can; there was a bad draught from the window directly above the bed that would have bothered me if I had been staying longer. Small room but that very much reflected in price.

Review 58:This was good value. An unpretentious but comfortable spot. Linda was a warm and friendly host. Breakfast superb and I could pick my own combination each day. Bed dead comfy. Wifi worked with only the odd glitch. Great location for seeing Greenway and Coleton Fishacre and handy for other nearby towns.

Review 59:nothing really except at breakfast ,we were served after a couple who came in after us but the breakfast itself was very good and tasty

Review 60:the room was surperbly clean and location lovely staff also nice

Review 61:The only niggle was that the shower was not very hot.

Review 62:The owners and staff were all very friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and delightful with lovely views over the countryside. The food was excellent with a very varied menu. The log fire was very welcoming to sit around and always alight.

Review 63:The Manor Inn was warm and welcoming, and it was great being able to have a drink and enjoy reasonably priced good food in the bar, before turning in ( just a walk up the stairs). The bedroom facilities were very good and clean, and we had a great cooked breakfast in the morning. The staff were very friendly.

Review 64:With the room being compact there was no where to really relax after dinner, on a couple of nights we sat in the small bar where the chairs are slightly larger otherwise it was a case of retiring to the bed. Minor point because I stayed an extra night.

Review 65:Linda and her breakfast, the rest of the team were also very good. The important thing was that I didn't pay a lot so I didn't expect a lot so was not surprised to find that the room was quite compact, however did have a peek at another room and that was very big. Very clean modern bathroom. A pleasure to spend time in a very busy village pub.

Review 66:Bar music generally went on to 11.0 p.m.,and this noise penetrated to our bedroom(no 4),making an early night quite difficult

Review 67:staff friendliness and food quality

Review 68:I can honestly report that the only thing we didn't like was only staying for two nights!

Review 69:Good value for money Ample and free parking Excellent food and service Good location a short drive from Brixham Harbour and Torquay Manor Inn was very busy but we couldn't hear any noise from the bar in our room Very friendly staff and great breakfasts

Review 70:Wi-fi not available in the room we were in. Had to go down to the bar. Not a major issue with us.

Review 71:Very friendly and considerate staff. Breakfast and evening meals excellent. Good selection of real ales. Good atmosphere in what is very much a local pub.

Review 72:Nothing!

Review 73:We came to this hotel about three years ago and enjoyed it then, hence the return. We stopped off on way to Falmouth and were not disappointed. The car park at the rear of hotel means just a short few steps to get into bedroom. Ideal, Linda was great too!

Review 74:The wi-fi can be hit and miss - rather more miss than hit. There is no phone signal due to location.

Review 75:Convenient location for our relations hence we have stayed there many times. Friendly staff, comfortable and spotlessly clean rooms. Excellent breakfast as always. Affordable and not haunted!

Review 76:Wi-fi connection was poor. The night we stayed was very warm but there was no air conditioning or a fan. Despite signs asking customers to be quiet when leaving the pub it was noisy outside after closing time.

Review 77:Spacious room, recently refurbished; staff friendly and helpful; food was of high quality and generous portions; lovely views.

Review 78:Room to small, very hard to get served at bar due to locals many with dogs and customers very loud out side room when window open as its above the patio area.

Review 79:Nice pub ,breakfast excellent central to torquey and brixham Linda who served breakfast very special lady friendly and chatty made us very welcome.

Review 80:nothing

Review 81:Everything. Lovely place to stay, our room was spacious, comfy and very clean. the staff friendly and helpful and the food is really good. Thank you so much for a lovely stay.

Review 82:When we arrived we looked for somewhere else in walking distance to eat an evening meal, there did not however appear to be anywhere so we booked the pub. I am a vegetarian/celiac so I know I am not the easiest to cater for but the only veggie option was a salad. After waiting a very long time I was served with a bowl of lettuce with very few bits of anything else, this was very poor value for money. I also had notified the pub prior to arrival regarding breakfast. Although the staff were very helpful they were obviously not aware of my requirements and was left with egg and grilled tomato for breakfast? this for the money paid I feel was very poor.

Review 83:We had a lovely brand new room which had just been refurbished and was very comfy.

Review 84:First impression of staff was not very good, gave us our key and a few words and then did not see him again for all of our stay. Ate in the pub one evening, and felt that the dining room was tired, needed a refurb. Bedroom excellent, clean and spacious, although the en-suite was a bit cramped.

Review 85:Linda made us very welcome and produced some excellent breakfasts for all of our 5 night stay. She advised about the local area, shops etc

Review 86:Everything, especially the lovely lady who took care of us. Her breakfast was absolutely fabulous, the best I've had in any hotel or B&B in all the years I've been travelling. We will definately book a stay here again in the very near future. EXCELLENT, THANK YOU.

Review 87:Bright lights left on outside all night disturbed sleep for one of us. Bar staff very unfamiliar with booking in procedures. Wifi issues

Review 88:Owner very helpful Clean and tidy Well presented family room Food - evening meal excellent , breakfast was the best we have ever had

Review 89:Clean bright room & lovely fresh bathroom. Nice to have hot chocolate as well as tea & coffee in the room. Useful to have a small fridge. HUGE cooked breakfast! Good location to visit Greenway & Coleton Fishacre.

Review 90:Dogs in the dining areas.

Review 91:traditional English pub with a very good atmosphere and the ability to mix with the "locals". Good pub menu and top room on first floor overlooking the village.

Review 92:Was a lovely location made better by the glorious weather we had. Food was very good and atmosphere in pub was good too. Lady who served breakfast advised on a round Robin trip to Dartmouth and Totnes which was great especially for someone who lived locally for 22 years like me but had never actually partaken in this before. Would stay again definitely.

Review 93:A very comfortable and spacious room.

Review 94:Nothing, couldn't fault it

Review 95:Very comfortable stay, staff very welcoming. Breakfast is excellent and keeps you going for the rest of the day.

Review 99:Every thing about our stay was first class

Review 100:All the staff very friendly and only too willing to oblige. Dinner was excellent eqally so was the accommodation.

Review 101:Some areas showing their age, slightly scruffy externally.

Review 102:Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast Lovely room

Review 103:Noise - as bedroom over pub

Review 104:Breakfasts were good

Review 105:Ideally situated for visiting Agatha Christie's house.

Review 106:Very friendly staff. Lovely location. Excellant food. Good value for money
