Reviews for Hotel Art Deco Euralille
Review 1:Initial stay lacked coffee/tea amenities until asked for. Return stay - aircon off at night, window had to be left open - result, bitten by insects. Staff gave no explanation for aircon being off.
Review 2:Location was ok once the train ticketing system was mastered. It would help for ticket instructions to be available in other languages at the hotel.
Review 3:I really liked the decor - hotel looks and feels luxurious but isn't very expensive. Just a short walk from the old part of Lille with lovely old buildings, cobbled streets, good choice of places to eat.
Review 4:Not very close to the city centre, 15 to 20 mins walk. the art decor theme is not reflected in the rooms neither the lobby of the hotel. the hotel as such doesnt relfect its name.
Review 5:good price / quality one station away from the train station
Review 6:Rooms air con controlled by the front desk and room was VERY hot!! Window in room opened far too wide for young children. Windows must have safety catches fitted ,Urgently! No English channel on TV!!
Review 7:Good location. Right opposite tram stop nice bathroom comfortable bed
Review 8:I booked because I love art-deco buildings, but this is really not anything special. The lobby has a few art-deco flourishes, but the rooms and the corridors are just plain. You should only book this hotel because of its location and price.
Review 9:Fairly cheap
Review 10:For the amount we paid per room, a coffee/tea facility in the room would be good. had to look for lightswitch in the evening as corridor was dark when leaving the elevator. Unsafe feeling!! use to be Best Western...need refurbishment.
Review 11:Friendly welcome.
Review 12:Lille seems to have no road signs and we spent a long time finding the hotel. The restaurant was closed at 8.00 pm and the tables were laid for breakfast
Review 13:The room was excellent and the location for the centre of Lille was very good. There is very little at night in the immediate locality of the hotel. The restaurant was closed when we got there at 8.00pm. However the local tabac had a tremendous onion soup
Review 14:nothing really - room a little small
Review 15:clean, great shower , quiet tram to city centre right outside hotel (2 stops/3 minutes to lille gare flanders) good value for money quiet area but pub, diner and restaurant within 5 mins walk
Review 16:Booked this hotel expecting it to be a 1920s Art Deco treat so slightly disappointed to find the decor inside is pure 1980's Hilton.
Review 17:Perfectly acceptable business hotel in a quiet downtown area within walking distance to historic city centre. Great bathroom good shower, warm and comfortable bed.
Review 18:Very poor parking facility, staff ok but manager rude ,not kettle tea or coffee as described, asked and paid for large privilege room and got two single beds pushed together, could hear running water all night everytime someone flushed the toilet or used shower or bath.
Review 19:Going home
Review 20:The unpractical "sas" to get into the room. The noise of theair conditioning.I Found the breakfast overpriced (13 euros) for whatit offered.
Review 21:The staff, the room, he location.
Review 22:Room was too warm, didn't sleep well as a result and reception 'had control' of the air conditioning, receptionist was typically french (not helpful. ) !
Review 23:Nothing
Review 24:The bathroom and the bed were great. Even if there was the alarm ringing in the moring, the staff was professional to offer to me the breakfast free! Thank you.
Review 25:Receptionist with superior attitude. Most of the surrounding businesses are closed during July and August . Breakfast expensive.
Review 26:Hotel not central but tram stops right outside, and quick trip to the centre. Good value. Large comfortable room, small but spotlessly clean bathroom. Would definitely stay here again.
Review 27:The hotel has no dining facilities itself (only breakfast). 7.00pm on a Saturday night in July the small bar next to the hotel was closed. So be prepared- either treck into Lille centre for dinner or (as we did) try excellent bistro one stop further out on tram (La Batonique stop). L'Escale des Saveurs on Ave de la Republique. Friendly English speaking Maitre d', good regional cuisine and a little gem known to the locals. One last word, entrance to the hotel car park is tight and really only suitable for small to medium cars.
Review 28:The friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. The Art Deco style. The fact that it is a bit out of Lille centre so away from the crowds, but the convenience of the cheep, clean brilliant tram system, just a 2 stop ride to the centre of town. Secure parking
Review 29:It was disappointing not to have a hot water pot after traveling in England where they are standard. Wifi required a code for each device and the didn't work consistently.
Review 30:The location was a 20 minute walk from the City Center and just a quick light rail ride from the train station. The room was clean and comfortable. Nothing stood out.
Review 31:Perfect location for Christmas Market. Tram stop just outside 2 stops to the centre.
Review 32:Wifi trouble
Review 33:Nice breakfast
Review 34:perfectly placed to get in and out of town centre
Review 35:Some of the staff were not as welcoming as the rest.
Review 36:Very convenient for the tram. Comfortable and clean, nice breakfast. Would definitely stay again.
Review 37:Lifts/ noisy air con
Review 38:Breakfast / local of trams
Review 39:A bit far out of town, no tea/coffee facilities. Decor had seen better days
Review 40:The hotel was clean and had everything you need for a short break.
Review 41:I do like 2chairs in the room because it was not realy comfortabel to sit in the room. Sorry about my englisch.
Review 42:The staff were friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean.
Review 43:Handy location right by tram stop. Polite and helpful service
Review 44:We got two single beds put together instead of a double :/
Review 45:Very nice hotel. Very spacious bathroom
Review 46:the policy of no refund
Review 47:good location next to tram and train
Review 48:the comfortable room and quiet position of hotel.
Review 49:Overpriced, minimal Art Deco artefacts
Review 50:Excellent location
Review 51:Car park cramped and very tight to drive in and out off.
Review 52:Friendly helpful staff. Comfortable room and clean. Varied breakfast that was plentiful.
Review 53:I asked for a double and got 2 singles pushed together.
Review 54:Location to the office..
Review 55:Bedside reading light would be an improvement.
Review 56:Location and ambience
Review 57:Take great care in shower as there is no grip on tray and becomes very slippy when wet and worse when soap is used. Had a nasty fall out of shower. Told management and they said 'the would check it'
Review 58:Not too far from centre
Review 59:The reception on arrival was less than welcoming. Very curt and rushed - as if there was something more urgent to do than tend to the guest. The area isn't great - I stayed in the city centre before and it's much nicer if you're in Lille for a short stay. It's on the far side of the station and it's a stiff walk into town although the tram stops right in front of the hotel if you wanted to use public transport.
Review 60:The room was spacious and had a nice big bathroom. Windows open completely so natural air can flow in.
Review 61:The staff were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were small but clean and comfortable.A little way from the town centre but very convenient for the tram which was really cheap and regular.
Review 62:The only thing that really spoiled an otherwise good hotel was the lack of tea and coffee making facilities in the rooms
Review 63:The staff were very helpful and the room was quite spacious and well kept.
Review 64:NO PC to work from nor to print a document. Set up of breakfast room not practical at all, not able to have access to the food display more one person at a time, simply a time waster
Review 65:Night porter not able to give correct WIFI connection to work from room.
Review 66:Abruptness of some staff, i.e. the manager on arrival. And the overnight person grumbled about having to unlock the front door late evening (it was before midnight). The lifts seemed a bit ancient. There was no dinner service at the weekends. Too far away from the city centre. The tram line outside the hotel didn't take you anywhere useful. Some websites said there were toiletries in the bathroom, some didn't. So I took my own, and there weren't any. That needs to get clarified. Also, I read that there were tea and coffeee making facilities in the rooms - there weren't and I missed that. I also think 30 Euros for breakfast is too much as it was continental breakfast only. So I didn't pay it.
Review 67:Hotel style clean bathroom and towels Hotel was nice and warm
Review 68:I liked the bed and the staff efficiency especially Sylvie break fast ET Michael at reception, excellent!
Review 69:The Break fast not value for money, it's not worth €13, should be much less. Or else increase your menu with more varieties. I think on your website, you need to highlight a bit more on your Parking showing pictures and the price per night (€10) which I think should be included in the general room price. Your lift needs an upgrade, it's very slow to close and sometimes not straight forward.
Review 70:Dear Booking.com. I still have a some problem with this hotel. For some unknown reason, i paid twice: first time in booking day 04 december 2013, second time - at the check out 16 december 2013. Please help me to solve this problem.
Review 71:Poorly laid out breakfast area making it difficult for anymore than one guest at a time to access their breakfast choice. Poor access to parking area.
Review 72:Helpful staff, breakfast choice.
Review 73:Room would have benefited with tea and coffee facilities
Review 74:Proximity to town was within walking distance and availability of parking where a large factor in our choice. Hotel rooms were decorated to a high standard and very comfortable.
Review 75:Very good hotel, although we Were at the front, we didn't hear The traffic at all. It was handy being able to park the car and having the tram stop just outside. Would definitely stay Here again.
Review 76:Access to car park was very tight and there was not too much space to park either. Rooms rather on the small size and a bit hot at night
Review 77:Nice looking hotel with friendly staff in good location. Breakfast was ok - nothing special but it wasn't bad either. Good location - close to town and there is a tram stop opposite the hotel for convenient 10 minutes journey to town
Review 78:Cramped breakfast area made it difficult to get the food.
Review 79:Art deco style Big bed good breakfast close to tram station parking on site Although it was on a busy road it was very quiet
Review 80:Small parking place with narrow lanes. It was difficult to enter andexit.Windows were locked and screwed and I could not open them. Some rooms have boiler and some don't. Try to get 07 rooms, they are big.
Review 81:Cleanness, comfortable, " close by" center, metro station inthe front of the hotel
Review 82:we arrived late around 10pm,paid for the de luxe room but initially was given the ordinary one, when i complained after hesitation we got the room we had booked, they tried to charge us for breakfast when we did not have any.
Review 83:No restaurants or life near hotel. Its close walking distance toeurostar but wrong side if town for everything else like the old town, central square etc.
Review 84:It does whst it says on the tin.
Review 85:Hotel brochure advertised ample car parking at 10 euros per 24hrs, NOT possible to use with large cars, had to use on road parking at RISK of fines as tokens only valid for 90 mins max and remove again.
Review 86:A very friendly professional welcome by all staff and very informative about all aspects of hotel and services.
Review 87:Dark hallways although timers lights did work. Parking limited and tight spaces. Access to parking not the easiest.
Review 88:Location to old section of Lille was a short walk. Access to restaurants was easy. Clean, quiet, with quick connect to Wifi. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast was more than adequate.
Review 89:Did not take the breakfast (there's coffee and croissants on the corner outside). About the garage entry: it was no problem if you just follow the instructions of the reception! A large stationwagon or bus is however not recommended: too much hasle to get in & out...
Review 90:Everything was in order. Staff very friendly and useful with tips. Garage was a safe place to park, right in the middle of the block. Room was very clean, and private (back of the hotel). Tram right outside will take you straight into downtown Lille. One block to the right there's a pizza take-away. One block to the left: supermarket and bank machine.
Review 91:tea making facilities would have been nice
Review 92:The hotel is situated about 10-15 mins walk from the city centre however trams stop immediately outside. The rooms were immaculate, the beds were very comfortable and the staff were friendly and attentive. Lovely bath / shower.
Review 93:The room was not very warm, there was no coffee or tea making facility. There was no restaurant for evening meals and getting in and out of the car-park in a vehicle bigger than a mini was a nightmare. if you have a large vehicle don't book a stay here.
Review 94:The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and access to the trams into town was good.
Review 95:Very good situation, just outside the city centre but at walking distance or the tramway stops just in front and for only 80 cent you can get into the city centre. Breakfast is fine, quiet place to sleep, free wifi, late check-out time, very clean rooms,...
Review 96:Hotel good value, standard rooms are small so but worth paying small amount extra for larger room. There is a tram stop immediately outside the hotel, regular service into city centre which takes about 5 minutes, so not worth driving into the city.
Review 97:Room very hot. Car park very difficult with big car.
Review 98:Very easy to find, polite helpful staff, good breakfast, nice room and bathroom. Well located for centre of Lille, just 2 stops on tram or 15 minute stroll. I would stay at this hotel again.
Review 99:Did not enjoy the breakfast much. No food available in the evening at weekends.
Review 100:Secure parking on site. Close enough to walk into town. Tram stop outside. Comfy rooms.
Review 101:The photos on the photos on the websites sort of give it all a bit moreof a grandeur than it has in reality.... But it was fine.
Review 102:The look... The cost....(relative!).... It's location easy(ish) to findvery conveniently placed to get into Old Lille either on the tram justoutside teh hotel or by foot - 15 minutes.
Review 103:Breakfast was expensive!
Review 104:The hotel suited our purpose of a city break with access to local parks and canals plus the city centre being in easy reach. The reception staff were very helpful
Review 105:The hotel was a bit cold, and the breakfast room wasnt designed to well, one person could get breakfast at a time from the buffet table. Rooms had a view to parking lot, nothing to boast about
Review 106:Clean nice sized rooms, great decor, the staff were helpful even though we couldnt speak french. The garage was a bit hard to find, maybe I sign wouldve been nice, otherwise no problems really, breakfast was good as well.
Review 107:Road noise in roadside rooms - asked to move rooms in middle of night.Very small buffet serving area in dining room. No room for more than oneperson. This has been noted in reviews since 2009 so perhaps its time itwas changed....
Review 108:Very Close to Eurostar station and cose to Od Town (15 min walk)
Review 109:Room as double room was small. The cleaning should every morning move araound my things and how I preferred to have things there. Unnecessary
Review 110:It was an Ok hotel with reasonable good standard and not very far a way from city centre. Quiet nice area.
Review 111:The car park is nearly impossible to access for a largis saloon car. Damage to the vehicle is a real possibility due to very restricted entrance
Review 112:service was friendly and helpful
Review 113:We didn't eat there so can't comment on that side of things.HAVING TO GO TO RECEPTION TO SWITCH ON AIR CON. (WHY?)
Review 114:The staff were really friendly and helpful
Review 115:Can't think of anything we did not like
Review 116:Very friendly and helpfull staff. Room clean and had all facilities we needed. Breakfast ample and good. Bar area is very relaxing. Location good as only 2 stops to centre. We stayed at hotel 6 years ago and choose hotel again as we were very pleased with facilities. This time was no different. We would definitely recommend hotel and hope to stay again in future.
Review 117:There was no English TV channel in the room, although this was advertised - pity as it was the Closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympic games. There was little to do around the hotel - the station and centre were within walking distance but there was a maze of main roads which made this virtually impossible.
Review 118:The tram stop just outside the hotel helped to get to the centre more easily. The hotel was clean and tastefully furnished and the breakfast, bought at check in for 9euros, was a fair price. A tea tray for the room was given on request. As I had booked two rooms for single occupancy, we were given adjoining rooms with an interconnecting door. Lifts to all floors and air conditioning were good to have.
Review 119:Although it was advertised as free coffee/tea facilities this had to be requested at the reception and consumed there. It turned out that i was actually charged as well for the coffee i had despite the card in the room stating this was gratruatie. The water was cold on a couple of occasions in the evening just as i was getting ready to go out so had to have a cold shower.
Review 120:The location was great with the tram right outside the door (Romarin). Very quiet location in fact no noise at all with a Tabac next door and a small supermarket. The room was made up promptly every morning.
Review 121:Some odd noises, but nothing too loud. Easy to splash water everywherein the bathroom because guard was too small.
Review 122:The hotel was not in the center, but it was a quick tram ride away andwas in a nice, peaceful area with parks. Good breakfast, if a littleexpensive. Friendly staff. Comfortable room with nice big window. Cleanbathroom with strong shower. Very good deal for it's price.
Review 123:The hotel was clean and comfortable. Room was a nice size and tastefullydecorated. It had air conditioning! Lobby and bar area were very nice.Staff were friendly and helpful. We walked into town each day and ittook about 10 minutes but the tram stop was outside of the hotel socoming and going was easy.
Review 124:Breakfast was a trifle pricey.
Review 125:It was fabulous to stay at; spacious room, clean and traveller friendly.Staff were friendly. The hotel was an easy walking distance to thestations and to the town centre. Fabulous!
Review 126:Pleasant hotel, clean and close to the city centre. Two tram stops fromthe main station and almost walking distance from the old city.Parking space is indeed tight but not as bad as described! They should eliminate the 10 euro fee a night though.. Enjoy Lille, it's a great city!
Review 127:The rooms are spacious and well designed, but show some wear. They arevery clean, however, so it's not that big of a deal. The hotel is on theoutskirts of Lille, but there's a tramway stop literally in front on thehotel and it takes about five minutes to go to the central square. Veryconvenient. If you miss the last tramway (like we did) the hotel isstill a walking distance away - about 20 minutes maximum. The day staffwas very nice and helpful, but the night person was less so.Having read many comments, I'd like to point out that the entrance to the parking is indeed very narrow, but it doesn't mean you can't get in. You have to be careful, that's all. I've fitted my 5-series BMW without too much trouble. Overall, it's a great deal for money. I have stayed at 4 star hotels in Lille and I'd say you might as well stay here and save the 100 euro difference elsewhere.
Review 128:The deskstaff when we arrived was unfreindly and even surly as though we were a burden and not guests to be looked after. The room lacked any tea or coffe making facilities for a morning coffee or late night tea as we arrived from a long drive from Austria. I thought the breakfast menu to be very limited and unappealing given the charge if we had eaten was something like 13 euros per head.
Review 129:Not a great deal even though ours was just an overnight stay. I am trying hard to find something complimentary to write about our stay but cannot think of anything.
Review 130:Room was a bit small and too hot
Review 131:Nice place and good atmosphere, next to a nice pub/cafe, next to tram to town
Review 132:Lack of restaurant for evening meals.
Review 133:Location near tram stop for travelling into the centre.
