Reviews for Les Lodges Sainte-Victoire
Review 1:Hotel is located outside of anything else. it is very difficult to find food beyond lunch time i.e. eating lunch at 14:30 is impossible without getting out of the hotel. and hotels lunch menu is limited (unless you want to eat in high end restaurant next to it) For a family with children it was a challenge
Review 2:Swimming pools (both exterior and interior) are excellent. very relaxing and of very high quality. Nature is beautiful and overall territory is well designed and feels right. Staff is very helpful
Review 3:Price a bit too high for this hotel, otherwise we would have stayed a few more days.
Review 4:the hotel is located in a "forest", everything around the hotel is green, which is really nice. Good Swimming pool (two actually, one outdoor, one indoor). Staff very friendly to my family.
Review 5:Ok, it's not cheap, but for a two night stay and base to relax after exploring the bustle of Aix en Provence...it was worth every euro.
Review 6:Beautiful country-house setting in the hills outside Aix. Luxurious spa, outside infinity pool and sun-deck and lovely grounds. Delicious gourmet restaurant, Le Saint Esteve, lovely breakfast with next-door's dog popping in to please my daughter. Attentive staff, lovely suite with balcony and cool "disappearing" mirrors in the bathrooms.
Review 7:Amazing location just 10 mins outside of Aix with an incredible view of Mont Ste Victoire. Comfortable and large room. Great spa and pool facilities. Very helpful and friendly staff. Modern facilities. Great view of the countryside from the infinity pool.
Review 8:Our room had a bad smell when we arrived. The staff denied it. After two days of smell they agreed to move us - to a room for which we had to pay extra and which was right next to the restaurant which hosts wedding parties. Horrific. One night we had to sleep in the lobby until 2.30 am...
Review 9:50€ a day for a dog wholly excessive. And shower over the bath useless as no shower curtain or means of avoiding rivers of water and no means of helping get I or out of the bath
Review 10:Wonderful restaurant with fantastic food and service.
Review 11:the air conditioning did not work in our room on the 1st night and it was extremely uncomfortable and their was a slight odd odor in the room
Review 12:the room was good great for our family of four. the restaurant was outstanding. the best meal of our entire trip, they made our son's 14th bday very special
Review 13:Enjoyed it all, except possibly the bar menu was a bit limited
Review 14:Pretty hard to beat the views from the restaurant terrace. Very helpful staff throughout, peaceful location and just what we needed for a 24 hour break while grandparents had our child elsewhere on our holiday.
Review 15:a musty smell arriving in our room (but disappeared very fast) Soundproofing in the rooms to be improved in order to avoid to share the "happiness" of the lovers around ;) Pet welcome : you have to like it, I don't
Review 16:Very good service and nice staff Dedicated to chill out Nice and spacious room
Review 17:I would have liked tea and coffee making facility in room. I forgot my electrical adaptor and unfortunately they did not have a British to European. Perhaps you can pass that on as it would be useful for others.
Review 18:Location just outside Aix en Provence. Quiet in rural setting Michelin Star Restaurant - food was delicious
Review 19:The service is very good, but it can be a little better for a hotel of this quality.
Review 20:Lovely grounds, great restaurant, fantastic view of St. Victoire, very reasonable rates
Review 21:Nothing
Review 22:The location in a secured park with fabulous view on the ste Victoire mountain The deco, modern but cosy. The very attentive service Fab food at the restaurant
Review 23:The room service menu had a very limited selection and the quality of the food was average. The minibar had a great beverage selection, but only 3 food items. Since the hotel is a 10 minute drive from any restaurants or stores better food options on-site would've been a huge improvement.
Review 24:I loved the setting of the hotel as well as the interiors of the hotel including the rooms. The staff with one exception was very kind and helpful. I had an amazing hot stone massage while I was there.
Review 25:The only thing they could change is that besides the michelin restaurant, the bar within the hotel does not offer too much option for snacks.
Review 26:If you would like to stay in a relaxing environment and you don't prefer to stay in the city centre but want to be close to the city centre, this is the perfect place. The staff was really helpful and kind. We loved the outside heated infinity pool. Spa treatments are really good. There is a one michelin star restaurant in the premises which is a bonus, the food was really delicious.
Review 27:The hotel is not within walking distance of the village which means you are dependant on the very expensive hotel and restaurant catering facilities.
Review 28:The bedrooms are very well furnished and spacious with excellent en-suite facilities. The relatively modern interior and furniture can be a welcome relief from the more traditional French hotel decor. Both the indoor and outdoor pools are very attractive.
Review 29:Breakfast at €25 was poor. Fruit salad was of the insipid mass hotel produced variety (no fresh fruit bowl), 'flocons d'avoine' (oats) turned out to be a packet of sweetened crunchie, eggs were charged extra, jam was jars. I have had marvellous breakfasts in modest hotels. They should be able to do better than this. Bar food was OK but very limited. The Relais Cézanne in Le Tholonet close by does excellent lunches and dinner on fri and sat. Main plea: PLEASE do some work on leaf tea and how to make it. Tepid water and a tea bag floating in it is not tea! Even in the restaurant, a request for camomile tea produced a tea bag in a pot of warm water - not good enough, especially when nearby Aix has specialist tea shops.I stayed an extra night but went out for breakfast after the first day.
Review 30:Although almost entirely re-built, the location retains some vestiges of what must have been originally a Provencal villa - the lovely gardens have been sensitively restored, preserving old steps and fountains. The lodges are discreetly positioned so don't spoil this sense. The rooms are spacious and I had a terrace to myself which was peaceful and sunny. The terrace of what must have been the old house under mature plane trees is lovely too.Beware of rooms near the filtration plant for the (very fine) outdoor pool as it is quite noisy. The Michelin star restaurant is excellent and the staff were friendly and not overly formal. It was fine to have a main course and wine only and I was by no means the only solitary diner. Indeed one of the pleasures of this hotel is that it felt fine to be an unaccompanied guest. Some design features might be improved in rooms - whoever positioned bathroom mirrors had never tried to put on mascara!
Review 31:The hallway was smelly. The room is a little small for a 4 star but overall good (the bathroom is big).
Review 32:We stayed for 1 night. The hotel is in a hill between Aix (7min) and Tholenet (5min). The pool although small is nice. They have another heated pool inside the spa. The massages at the spa are amazing. I recommend you take one. The atmosphere is fine more for a romantic stay
Review 33:Night porter lacking the most basic attitudes of politeness and empathy - and professional competence. Never meets the standards of a 4 x hotel. Does not get up from his chair to welcome, does not ask about wishes and travel, does not wish safe journey, does not check comprehension of what he says but takes for granted that everyone understands his native accent. Further, the hotel charges no less than € 50 (five-oh) per day/night for a dog, with no dog-related service (food, blanket etc) at all being consumed.
Review 34:Beautiful setting, great facilities, a real treat as regards location and surroundings. Friendly staff - in general.
Review 35:Only one restaurant and in room dining menu is quite limited. The restaurant is superb but when you have three your children although they can accommodate its perhaps not suited.
Review 36:Wonderful staff that know your name when you arrive if you have stayed there before. Very professional. Very trendy decor.
Review 37:Les Lodges Sainte-Victoire was an amazing place to stay! It's a beautiful resort tucked in a vineyard in the South of France. The rooms and bathrooms are large and beautiful. It was a relaxing experience.
Review 38:Air condition in the gym didn't work for a couple of days. Breakfast too expensive for people who would like to enjoy only coffee and croissant.
Review 39:Perfect location for a trip to Aix and surroundings. Only a few kilometres away from the city of Aix but already in a landscape surrounding. Rooms are modern, spacious and provide good beds. Also the shower design is convincing. Staff very helpful with inquiries.
Review 40:The food is severely overpriced. It seems that they know guests eitherneed to venture out to the town for a meal or just pay the high prices(I.E. 45 euro for a lobster salad and 25 euro for a glass of champagne).
Review 41:We loved the premises and the surroundings of the hotel. The rooms abeautiful and spacious. Despite the insane prices the quality of thefood is very good so we splurged on dinners (hotel bar not themichelin restaurant next door) and skipped the pricey breakfast. Wefound a bakery nearby and got delicious croissants for the roadinstead:) Nevertheless, I would go back for a relaxing and romantictime in Provence.
Review 42:Extras too expensive (25 eur for breakfast and 7 eur for a beer from minibar!)
Review 43:Very nice rooms Excellent and very kind staff The SPA is beautiful and for free
Review 44:Showers a bit impersonal! Lack cozy feelings
Review 45:Helpful staff...we get an excellent employee who helped us really late at night and one not as warm! Beautiful setting n great breakfast!
Review 46:My only complaint would be the food service at the bar - our food order was forgotten twice by the barman. It would also be nice to have the hours for food service extended a bit as we were traveling from overseas and it closes quite early.
Review 47:The hotel is very new and had top notch facilities. The service by conceirge was OUTSTANDING. We felt we had found the best place to spend time in Provence. Relaxing, amazing grounds to walk around and the pool was spectacular. It is 5 minutes from Aix-en-Provence and totally in the country with no city noise.
Review 48:The hotel's location was excellent for aix en provence. The room was extremely comfortable, and the staff are excellent
Review 49:Breakfast wasn't good value for money.
Review 50:Excellent concierge who was very helpful throughout our stay. Beautiful hotel and location.
Review 51:No shower in the standard room, all the water goes next to the bath. Hair on the floor, every wear. We had only 1 window in our room.
Review 52:Swimingpool
Review 53:The selection of food and prices in the garden area at lunch.
Review 54:Lovely, friendly and welcoming staff. An absolutely stunning location.
Review 55:A luxury hotel with very attentive and friendly staff.
Review 56:seems kind of cheap not to include eggs in the breakfast price..
Review 57:Calm and beauty of the place. Perfect staff support.
Review 58:a/c not very performace
Review 59:The garden is very nice
Review 60:Staff were polite but could have been more warm and welcoming.
Review 61:Beautiful, luxury property. Very comfortable beds.
Review 62:There was a bad smell coming out of the shower.
Review 63:Spacious room. Very nice staff. Beautiful pool. Great food with amazing view.
Review 64:You might be able to afford the room but beware of the food cost and because of the location, there isn't an alternative close by!!
Review 65:Everything
Review 66:Decoration location very close to Aix
Review 67:Small gymn with medicore equipment. Pillows were too stiff. Bar closed already at 11 pm.
Review 68:Friendly staff.
Review 69:The Sound vert noisy or the small orchestra in the lobby close to my room
Review 70:Nice pool insiste the spa Confortable and Nice junior suite Nice bath room
Review 71:Restraurant was pricey, and menu did not change thru the week.
Review 72:Views were fantastic! Service was excellent.
Review 73:The swimming pools, the view, the decoration
Review 74:It is beautiful, quiet and very spacious rooms
Review 75:The cost of breakfast was exorbitant!
Review 76:Location Room and grounds
Review 77:nothing
Review 78:everything
Review 79:Everyting
Review 80:Slow wifi, small breakfast, good, but not outstanding restaurant at very high price
Review 81:Friendly staff, nice environment
Review 82:Extras were very expensive, no breakfast included, coffee, drinks, meals etc
Review 83:Location, hotel, pool etc
Review 84:Didn't get to stay long enough.
Review 85:Absolutely everything, including the one Michelin star restaurant on site.
Review 86:Excellent hotel and facilities, very helpful staff, delightful breakfasts, set in a beautiful rural location. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay.
Review 87:The champagne aperitif at Euros 18 per glass was very expensive.
Review 88:The pool was heated to 29 degs which is wonderful but very unusual in France. The hotel had put feather pillows on the bed as we had requested not the hard ones you find in most hotels. The food in the Michelin star restaurant was excellent and the wine reasonably priced. The room was very quiet with double sinks in the bathroom and great shower. Free Nespresso coffee was a bonus.
Review 89:Lack of attention to detail. Request for down pillows and sheets (no duvet) , ignored. No replenishment of face cloths, soap, tissues. No clearing of coffee cups in room. No replenishment of mini bar. Dead flowers in hallways. Poorly maintained gardens and grounds. Unhelpful and "defensive" staff. Very expensive restaurant (although very good food, with amateurish service). Very poor breakfast selection.
Review 90:Mirrors in the bathroom very nice but difficult to do make up and brushing Room size (bit small) Mini bar prices (a coke 8 euro, a nespresso cap 2 euros!) Restaurant price list and meal portions (28 euro for a good risotto but very small portion)
Review 91:External swimming pool (warm water) King size bed very conformable Nice bed for the baby High quality hair drier
Review 92:Breakfast a bit to expensive if you want more than bread, juice and coffee (adds up to 40 euro p.p. with eggs)
Review 93:Nice room with a view, great pool and friendly staff. Location is perfect, close to Aix en Provence and quiet. We loved the exclusive restaurant for dinner. A wonderfull hotel!
Review 94:Having to leave ;(
Review 95:The setting was perfect. Food was delicious. Staff was helpful. Accommodations were very nice. Views were lovely. Spa was great. Heated pools were amazing. I am returning with my husband in a few weeks and can't wait!
Review 96:The inside decoration is very comfortable but a bit generic and urban. Didn't quite preserve the feel of a provencal traditional house. No tea in the room. Breakfast is elaborate but not everyone's taste.
Review 97:Location, stunning nature, proximity to Aix, Montagne Sainte victoire view from the room. The spa. Very friendly staff keen to help you in any way.
Review 98:First room assigned was noisy during the night. Restaurant does not deserve for the money in terms of the quality of the food and the service. Bathroom was not cleaned carefully.
Review 99:Hotel staff were very supportive even though they could not identify the noise problem. Beautiful location.
Review 100:lack of reasonably priced food lack of healthy breakfast no real children planning rooms fancy, but not always practical Gym lacking many basic things
Review 101:Good location Modern facilities Beautiful garden In general friendly staff
Review 102:Excellent Modern decor you dont find in those parts. Large room. Comfy bed and towels all done to a high standard. My sons were very impressed. I unfortunately did not eat but saw the very refined restaurant and spa. I will be staying again in a couple of weeks and I will be sure to check them out.
