Reviews for Appart'hôtel Victoria Garden La Ciotat

Review 1:We went in September mid-week and left very early on Saturday morning. Be aware that it turns into a party pad on Friday night for the weekend, with groups of friends enjoying the facilities loudly and until the early hours. We shut the balcony doors and it keeps the noise out, but if you have little kids who go to sleep early, it might not be so great.

Review 2:A nice sized apartment for a 3 night stay. Good kitchen facilities and well kitted out overall, decent pool, nicely planted gardens, polite, helpful multi-lingual staff and air conditioning that didn't keep me awake with the noise. Oh yes, and an Aldi across the road. Winner.

Review 3:We rented a junior suite, there was no room for suitcases. The suitcases had to be put in the living area. Main bedroom only enough space to walk around bed the two extra sleeping places were bunks in the entrance. I do not know what constitutes a junior suite but I find it difficult to believe that this accommodation fits that description.

Review 4:The balcony and view. Although it was a distance from anywhere it didn't matter to us because we had a car.

Review 5:The bathroom could have had a shower which would have made it easier for 4 people trying to get ready, as there was a shower hose but no where to hang the hose from.

Review 6:The location was good, and the apartments were a good size. The free wifi and parking was great.

Review 7:Six friends could be a bit of a squeeze for a week or longer but a young family would be ok. Location is out of main part of town.

Review 8:Friendly and helpful staff, good secure parking right outside the flat, decent value breakfast available, which we weren't expecting. We didn't find many places to eat or drink in the area but there is a great restaurant not far down on the sea front. Our ground floor rooms had good sized patio/lawn areas running down to the attractive pool.

Review 9:We couldn't get used to the noise of the cigales and it was constant. The local beaches were small, crowded and rocky and there were no family friendly restaurants that were close enough to walk to so we had to use the car a lot.

Review 10:The apartment was well equipped and the swimming pool and grounds were well kept and clean.

Review 11:Negative - cleaning personel speaking only in french

Review 12:Good location, very nice with good english reception personel, very helpful. Generally very nice and good place for families with children. Swiming pool fantastic for relax :-)

Review 13:The view directly on a busy road No air conditioning in the bedroom (it only works - badly - in tje living room) No umbrellas by the pool The apartment needs refurbishing The apartment / kitchen is poorly equipped (3 forks, 3 glasses etc) Definitely NOT WORTHth the price we paid

Review 14:the staff is very nice and helpful

Review 15:It was not that clean. The toilet smelled awful. A couple of times we came in late and there were no lights in the ground floor, since it was dark putting the key into the keyhole was a challenge. There were corridor lights at the first and the second floor. There were too few cutleries also in the appartment.

Review 16:The pool was nice and the free secure parking. Staff spoke English.

Review 17:Well it is worth the charge but the toilet needs refurbishment as it stinks and the air conditioning is only in the kitchen and it was very hot as no fans in rooms, if I knew about the a/c I would have not booked it as could not sleep with the heat ,

Review 18:The Terrance , and view and the parking

Review 19:The hotel is close to the road so it was a bit noisy in the evening and at night if you keep the windows open. The sandy beach is rather far (about 30 minutes walk).

Review 20:Comfortable apartments with equipped kitchen and big balcony, good swimming pool, friendly staff. Supermarket Aldi quite near (open 9 a.m. - 7 p.m.)

Review 21:I arrived at 12.30 and the hotel was not accessible as reception was closed and there is a large electronic gate which was closed. I was told at check in that breakfast started at 9 am which was no good for me as I needed to be in work by 9am

Review 22:The hotel is in a reasonably good location but a car is necessary as there are very few taxi's available in the area, it is extremely clean and the staff are very friendly

Review 23:1. Far from sandy beaches 2. Expensive an extra for WiFi

Review 24:1. Very helpful and friendly English speaking staff. 2. Apartments with well equipped kitchen 3. Free parking

Review 25:Wasn't sure are rooms visited for cleaning during guest stay or not. Was staying there for 2 weeks.

Review 26:Everything. Close to shore mean noisy. This is individual choice.

Review 27:Pool was out of action for repairs, website said it was open from May but wasnt. Would've booked another resort with a pool if we had known.

Review 28:Nice clean apartment

Review 29:DIFFICULT TO FIND FIRST TIME IN THE DARK AT NIGHT. NO SIGN FROM THE ST CYR SUR MARE DIRECTION ON N559.NEED TO KNOW IT IS BEFORE THE ALDI SUPER MARKET. NO BIG DEAL AS WENT TO NEXT TRAFFIC ISLAND AND TURNED AROUND AND PICKED UP ROAD SIGN FROM OTHER DIRECTION.

Review 30:THE WHOLE SET UP. A REAL GOOD EASY LIFE APPARTMENT. FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL STAFF. SOME PICTURES OF ROOM WOULD BE GOOD ON THE WEB SITE SO YOU CAN UNDESTAND HOW SPACIOUS AND WELL LAID OUT THE APPARTMENT IS WITH ITS 2 INDIVIDUAL ROOMS AND EXTRA BUNKS. VERY PLEASED WITH OUR STAY THANK YOU EVRYONE

Review 31:Junior suite was on the second floor looking on regional motorway and the Sea. Siting on the terrace with constant noise from the motor way was not exactly what we expected . Staff mainly spoke France.

Review 32:It was five minutes walk to the nearby beach. 30 km away from Cassis, beautiful little Village .

Review 33:We drove through the night from Disneyland arriving at 8am, we weren't able to check in until 4pm! So it was an emotional day, however we were welcomed and allowed access to the pool.

Review 34:We travelled with young children (2months and 4 yrs) and a 14 year old. Admittedly there was not much in the way of activities for the older one but then he's not really into that anyway. We had a ground floor junior suite which was situated in the centre of the block. It was a decent size for a family of 5 but I would imagine a bit cramped if you had 2 people sleeping on the sofa bed in the lounge area. The kitchen was small but sufficient for cooking (we cooked 5 out of 7 nights). There is an Aldi opposite which is perfect for everything you need food wise. The small town of La Ciotat is walkable (we did it a few times) the first half of the journey is a lot nicer (along the seafront) than the second (along a road!) and there are some nice places to eat/drink etc. The pizzaria on the way to La Ciotat is highly recommended the staff were lovely and the food good. Be warned it does get busy later on in the evening, so consider booking. We also ate out at the Port the opposite way from La Ciotat from the apartment (just a short drive away) lovely of an evening and plenty of choice. There are negative comments on here reference the staff not speaking English, we never found this an issue, and found the staff very friendly and helpful. The road is apparent but not too noticeable and could not hear a thing once doors were shut. The pool has opening times 9am-7pm which is strictly adhered too, so no noise disruption there. All in all a great place to stay of you're looking for a quiet family holiday. We would defiantly go back.

Review 35:if you are traveling as a couple do not expect a big comfort in a six-person room - only one bed is comfortable, but it is situated in very small dark room - other bed places are either two-stored bed or folding bed. So if you are taking it for two expecting you two will live in a big apartment - forget your expectation. But if you are a company of 4-6 person - so it is for you, clean and not expansive (divided on 4-6).

Review 36:A big nice pool and a great view from apartment on it. Private safe parking. Very nice and big balcony. Possible to wash clothes for a separate money on a ground floor.

Review 37:Reception was very unhelpful after our unexpected late arrival. The reception was closed, the afters hours number didn't work which left us without accomodation for the night. After continuos pressure we managed to get refunded the nights accomodation but this was to much resistance from the hotel. We found their reluctance to take responsibility distasteful.

Review 38:we experienced a very noisy weekend with groups of young people partying.

Review 39:convenient location to visit the region

Review 40:Apartment wasn't so clean.

Review 41:Safe parking. Spacious apartment. Comfortable beds. Very nice and helpful staff.

Review 42:nothing

Review 43:Very nice staff who really helps you, great location - quite, close to see and shop. Safe parking.

Review 44:Very good staff.

Review 45:semi-firm beds

Review 46:proximity to cassis, aldi few minute walk, gated parking

Review 47:wifi is for additional charge. Seaside is rocks- sandy ones requires 5 min drive

Review 48:nice place, location is good. Swimming pool is good if you with kids.

Review 49:Location was a bit too faraway from beach...

Review 50:Pool was great! it was nice that supermarket was so close.

Review 51:Overdue for a refurbishment, furniture and fittings very worn, not comfortable seating

Review 52:Family friendly accommodation....fabulous pool

Review 53:you need a car to go every where, sleeping room is really crowded

Review 54:staff was really nice and speak english, nice view

Review 55:Road noise

Review 56:Appartment confort as well as swimming pool. Close to the sea

Review 57:Only a hand held shower, needs to be on the wall! Reception only open for limited hours

Review 58:Traffic noise

Review 59:Beds are hard.

Review 60:Good location between Ciotat and St. Cyr. Gated parking and functional apartment. No luxury, no extras - OK value.

Review 61:Great

Review 62:Thank you for not having the swimming pool opened although the weather was boasting a nice 25 degrees C. The kitchenette and amenities were dirty probably to force you having the petit dej at the hotel for as expensive as a night stay for a family of four !! Finally the person(s) at the reservation desk were confused and had difficulties finding the booking.com confirmation . Will not stop by again unless significant improvements.

Review 63:The victoria garden hotel is well situated if you are on your way further east and you need to quickly stop over for a night or two. Do not get excited by the swimming pool pictures !!!

Review 64:Hotel is close to noisy national road far away from the shops exept Aldi but for the bakery and restaurants the car is a need. The nearest beaches are not nice so again we need a car to go there. Internet extra paid.

Review 65:Very friendly personel of the hotel. The price was very good. Private parking. Aldi very close to the hotel. Good location if you have a car.

Review 66:View of Aldi carpark from some balconies, bit closer than we realised, but would have been lost without it, as we did not have a car, no other shops anywhere near. View of busy road from some balconies, traffic much busier than we realised but we got used to it very quickly. We changed our room to ground floor. Air conditioning in lounge only. Hotplate not big enough for four or enough kitchen equipment but you only had to ask. Bus time tables better than they look as, stop on request, and cheap, but beware the taxi drivers, we got ripped off by two of them.

Review 67:Had ground floor studio suite nice size for two, settee in lounge converts to second double bed. Large private patio with grass area. Very clean apartment with towels and sheets changed regularly. Absolutely loved the area which is actually Baie de la Vierge with nice coast walk to La Ciotat beaches about 2.5km Probably best to hire a car if you stay here. Lovely receptionist Corrine very helpful made us very welcome.

Review 68:Noisey road nearby although the patio doors kept the noise out at night. No kettle. No microwave. Overall we had a good time.

Review 69:Child friendly swimming pool. Good aircon. View of the pool and the Med. Secure parking. Large balcony. Plenty of room for the two of us - may be not so good for a family of 6.

Review 70:Accom is quite basic and the air conditioning only covers the main living area. The hotel is close to a busy road and whilst this didn't bother us at night it was noisy during the day.

Review 71:Good well maintained pool with plenty of sunbeds. Very prompt response when we raised one or two small problems to the staff. Secure parking. Boulangerie and other small shops nearby. Easy Access to small rocky beach - good for snorkelling.

Review 72:Mad motorway runs past your (private!!!!) terrace, and pool. The other side is a parking lot. There is no proper reception, pool closed 7 - 9. Then its still locked you have to ask for key. This is not 3 Star. Bugs (large) in the room. Shower 80cm high ! and no plug for bath. Just impossible.

Review 73:We liked nothing about this place, and we stayed in 7 hotels over ten days as we toured the South of France. This was a complete waste of €100 and an evening out of our time on holiday. I liked moving to a proper 3 star hotel.

Review 74:We (family 2+2) have stayed in the hotel for a week, in a juniorsuite. The appartment is rather small, there was very little place forour luggage like clothers, swimming pool equipment, kitchen staff etc.Likely, there was a big tarrace where we kept a lot of our luggage. The kitchen annex is also very small, the kitchen equipment is verypoor and scanty (for enstance only 2 pots, no elecric pot to boilwater for tea etc). No cafe or bar where you can buy icecreams orcoffee or cold drinks:(

Review 75:Nice pool surrounded with colourful flowers. View to the sea.

Review 76:Very poor upkeep. Tall weeds in grass patio. Difficult to check in for late arrivals. Expensive for quality. Difficult to find hotel.

Review 77:Pool was very nice

Review 78:Sofa and bed in room not that comfortable after 5 nights. Main door does not have internal lock, so didn't let child sleep in bunk beds.

Review 79:A spacious, well appointed room overlooking the sea. Big bed and lots of pillows. Quiet location although by main road. Couldn't hear it. Nice balcony and pool area. Good to use as a base, which is what we did. Close drive to beach, about 10 mins. You need a car. Staff friendly and very helpful. Close to supermarket.

Review 80:THis is an awful hotel. Had we arrived earlier we would have foundanother place (even though we were staying one night). A musky odor, very outdated furniture, kitchen utensils were not useable. I neverwould have cooked for my family in this place. The worst place by far inour two week Europe hotel. While we were not expecting much from the on-line reviews, this was way beyond bad. No wifi which we had beenexpecting. When checking out in the am, we dealt with a glum appearingwoman who did not smile at us once.

Review 81:We arrived late in evening. Thus, it was helpful that our room was leftunlocked with key inside.

Review 82:It's a bit awkward having to exit on foot by opening the car parking gate. Groceries available nearby are limited but markets are held often in nearby towns.

Review 83:Good hotel for a family summer get-away as it has kitchen facilities and a lovely pool. Spacious 'junior suite' has room for 4 adults, and 2 kids.

Review 84:The room was little for 5 people, there was no room for luggage as itwas advertised in Internet. 2 beds for children are situated in thecorridor without any fresh air. Furniture and kitchen equipment was likefor beggars. Personal every time was showing to be sick and tired of ourpresence. We were refused even to get a kettle to our room. While checkin we were waiting for 1,5 hours even having a pregnant woman with us.I've payed with cash for my room and for Wi-Fi. I've got facture for theroom, but nothing for Wi-Fi and at check out the stuff tried to get thepayment for Wi-Fi once more. I've invited my french friends for thisweek and finally I was ashame of such "charming service". They've neverseen such service in France.

Review 85:Good location near the sea, comfortable parking.

Review 86:It was a bit frustrating that reception was closed in the afternoon when we arrived and we had to wait for it to open. It would have been helpful if the instructions to find the Hotel were a bit more specific. It was only easily accessible from one direction.

Review 87:The rooms we had were spacious, clean and tidy. The staff at reception were friendly and very helpful. It was great to have a swimming pool available as it was very hot. It was also helpful that there was a supermarket close by.

Review 88:Room smelled awful. Just close to road with much traffic. Horrible place, we left as soon as we could even though we had to pay extra for that, it was worth it! Dirty and disgusting!

Review 89:Nothing!

Review 90:Pool closes at 7.30pm. Better to have open later in summer

Review 91:Close to sea, but a little away from the more built up part of LaCiotat. Also not far to drive to Cassis. Quiet and relaxed.

Review 92:2 out of the 6 sleeping places are reall in the corridor, other thanthat no drawbacks whatsoever.

Review 93:Clean, nice pool, close to the beach, an excellent low cost storenearby, good value for money

Review 94:dirty narrow beach apartment and stairwells smelt of smoke poor public transport links

Review 95:large swimming pool well equipped kitchen security gate car park proximity to beach

Review 96:Ikea material : bathroom curtain / label on the hide lamp street noises

Review 97:Traditionnal decoration "Provence" / fonctionnal and confortable / easyaccess by car

Review 98:no toiletries smells a bit dirty

Review 99:free and save parking

Review 100:The apartment was clean and very comfortable. Near the shop, beach. Very good position for your trip. Big balcony with nice view.

Review 101:more service near the apart

Review 102:Friendly, helpful staff. Suite as described. Good location and facilities.

Review 103:good location, lot of space in the appartment

Review 104:Bra boende med närhet både till bad och nöjen.

Review 105:space and dimension of appartement

Review 106:Poor breakfast. Pool was already closed at 5 pm when we arrived.

Review 107:Friendly staff. Good parking place.

Review 108:Staff was somewhat ambivalent but overall pleasant.

Review 109:Location was good. Facilities were perfect for our needs.

Review 110:The staff doesnt help us to check in and i have to jump into the room myself. Very bad experience

Review 111:Swimming pool. The room is quite spacious

Review 112:Thre is not very clean, but there is nothing annoying.

Review 113:Regular appartments. No emotions.

Review 114:Absence of free wi-fi

Review 115:Large balcony. Good wiew. Spacious room.

Review 116:cleaness of the room.

Review 117:the location.

Review 118:Garbige (fag-ends, empty, bottles) in the grass in front of the apartment

Review 119:Big swiming pool with smaller pool for children
