Reviews for Ward Avenue B&B
Review 1:very clean and tidy, room spacious, shower and toilet very clean. Breakfast the best I have had. Owner a very lovely lady. Very pleasant stay. Would recommend
Review 2:Melissa was very friendly and helpful, the bed was extremely comfortable and the room clean. delicious breakfast and very handy for us becasue we were going to a wedding next door at Northwood House
Review 3:The bed consisted of two pushed together which was only a problem as they didn't match & made it a little uncomfortable.
Review 4:The proprietors were friendly & welcoming. A very nice place in a nice location. Having left our car at the party venue the night before, we were offered a lift in the morning to go collect the car.
Review 5:I loved everything
Review 6:Above and beyond service , wonderful breakfast , great hosts . The hosts make you feel welcome immediately , the room was beautiful and quiet the bed was so comfy and the en suite bathroom was modern . I can't recommend this bed and breakfast enough 10/10 for us . .
Review 7:A small sitting room would have been really nice as even though the bedroom was comfortable there was not a great deal of room for sitting about relaxing
Review 8:The hosts were very friendly and helpful and we loved the wildlife back garden. Its location was brilliant for the function we were attending but a small walk from the town centre. Breakfasts were nice and very generous.
Review 9:Run by a lovely couple, Melissa and Jonathan. Very accommodating and ever so friendly. Melissa even collected us from the chain ferry. The house and garden are fantastic with a path down through the enchanting garden leading to the park and down to the seafront. The house has so much character and you feel so much at home.
Review 10:I had to leave earlier than planned so unfortunately didn't get any breakfast
Review 11:Comfy bed, clean room and good bathroom with powerful shower. Excellent location close to amenities and ferry port.
Review 12:Loved it all.
Review 13:Ideal location within a few minutes walk of sea front and High Street shops and a good choice of restaurants. Comfortable room recently decorated. Run by extremely friendly couple. Tough on slimmers as the breakfast is irresistible. Thoroughly recommend.
Review 14:Bed and linen could be better but not a significant issue. People who are not comfortable with dogs probably wouldn't like it here.
Review 15:Wonderful warm helpful interesting hosts. Very convenient location. Lovedthe garden and dogs. Thenk you Melissa and Jonathan.
Review 16:The bed could have been a bit more comfortable, but we have been accustomed to a king sized, so that's o.k.
Review 17:Wonderful friendly reception, great breakfast and a fabulous shower. The host and hostess are great, lots of fun to talk to, and even gave us a ride down to the ferry. I'd come right back!
Review 18:All good.
Review 19:Warm welcome, very clean spacious room en suite shower room, great garden and adjacent park for walking our dog, great breakfast and nice to talk to other guests.
Review 20:Nothing
Review 21:Proprietors were friendly, welcoming and helpful. Very comfortable stay, beautiful garden and an excellent breakfast. I would strongly reccommend this b&b.
Review 22:Nothing We had a great time!!!
Review 23:The breakfast was good she made sure you had what you wanted. She eventook our luggage to the ferry terminal to save us dragging about whiledoing last minute shopping. She was a star Thank you Mellissa
Review 24:The frontage would benefit from clear signage as we weren't sure we had arrived at the correct place initially. Perhaps some advance notice that there are dogs at the property (all delightful and small but perhaps not to everyone's taste).
Review 25:We were made to feel very welcome and the location is extremely convenient. The breakfast was wonderful and nothing too much bother.
Review 26:Lovely place near to the centre of Cowes fantastic garden and peaceful location. Very well looked after and safe to store the bikes and very accommodating. Co Co the dog is very cute indeed. Breakfast fantastic in every way will be back.
Review 27:Location: only a few minutes walk through the park to the centre of Cowes. Nice landlords, good cooked breakfast. Note; A bit difficult to find, as the property is not marked as "B&B". So keep in mind the address.
Review 28:No sign outside the house, so was difficult to find and know whether we were in the right place. Also, there are 3 dogs at the property- not a problem for us but probably good to know in case of allergies or any issues.
Review 29:Friendly couple, and a great cooked breakfast (fruit, yoghurt, granola, juice also available). Our room was adjacent to the main house kitchen, although we had a separate entrance with key. Bed was comfortable, en-suite, tea/coffee facilities and hair-drier in room. Great location - 5mins walk into Cowes.
Review 30:Super hosts with artistic bent, airy and comfortable room, short walk through back garden to park and Cowes. Hosts gave us a great restaurant recommendation. If you enjoy dogs, you'll like their dachshunds.
Review 31:Owners are the best i found comparing all places I have been in the world, they care about you and doing their best. I hope to go again to this place but for holidays. Don't hesitate, just book there.
Review 32:Unfortunately when we booked the landlady was unaware that there were to be road works all through the night right outside our bedroom. Hence she suggested that it would be better if we found somewhere else to stay for the rest of the week.
Review 33:Originally the area. It was in a quiet part of town with only two letting rooms and a lovely garden.
Review 34:Creaky beds!
Review 35:Warm and friendly welcome, relaxed atmosphere. Very clean, nice breakfast. Good location with easy parking. Owners very helpful with excellent local knowledge.
Review 36:If you are in the downstairs room, the floorboards upstairs are VERY creaky and you will hear every movement upstairs, and loudly. Ask for the upstairs room :-)
Review 37:Fabulous breakfast; clean, tidy and characterful house; very friendly and helpful host and hostess; brilliant penguin salt and pepper pots!!
Review 38:Only one thing to be cautious of - if you don't like dogs this might not be the B+B for you. That said, we love dogs, so their three (very well behaved) pooches were actually an added bonus. But for our friends who stayed (husband has a mild dog allergy) they possibly could have done with a heads up. No big harm done though. Price would be good value for high season / Cowes week, but seems just a tiny bit pricey for the date we stayed (as Cowes wasn't super busy).
Review 39:Firstly, Melissa and Jonathan are excellent hosts. Chatty, polite and keen to please. Secondly the place is lovely, with a pretty garden to sit in, and a nice conservatory for breakfast (expertly cooked and presented). Location is decent enough, 10 minutes walk to the High Street. Would happily stay here again.
Review 40:one of the beds a bit squeaky but not a drama
Review 41:staff garden location plenty tea coffee biscuits breakfast was awesome dogs were lovely plenty channels on tv
Review 42:firstly car park access very difficult and narrow really only room for one car 'booking not necessary??' access to room through overgrown garden. 3 or 4 of the owners dogs running around during our nice breakfast.dogs not noisy at day or night. no fresh milk for room most dreadful smell from the drains in our on- suite.
Review 43:good location for restaurants and walks around cowes.
Review 44:I cant think of anything to criticise. Perhaps the breakfast cereal could be more imaginative - no yogurt for example. V minor point though c/f overall quality of our stay..
Review 45:Loved the welcome and ongoing kindness from Melissa and Jonathan. We had tea in the garden when we arrived and they made us feel so relaxed during our stay (2 nights). Very chatty and felt like we were saying goodbye to old friends when we left. The stay was the main feature of our break. We will def go back. Paul and Mark
Review 46:Unusually creaky floorboards overhead from other occupants didn't give us a good nights sleep. Although tea and coffee facilities were provided we felt awkward at having to ask for milk!
Review 47:Melissa and Jonathan were really helpful and friendly. The garden complete with red squirrels was peaceful and meandering.
Review 48:We were staying with our pet dog and the facilities for him were excellent along with the kindness and helpfulness of the owners - we would certainly recommend and stay there again.
Review 49:Nothing, it was perfect for us.
Review 50:I loved our stay here and would definitely go back. Melissa strikes the balance of a homely welcome and sense of our own space as guests. The room was immaculate, as was the bathroom which has the best shower ever. The breakfast room and garden are lovely and Melissa was so helpful helping us make the most of our stay. I also highly recommend 'Coast' for dinner, where we had an exceptionally good experience.
Review 51:Our host was great and cooked an excellent breakfast. House was full of quirky art and we were able to come and go when we pleased. Free wifi

Review 93:The wifi was non existent in the room, there were 4 dogs in the kitchen & the dining room, the towels were completely past their use by date, the room & ensuite were not cleaned or towels changed for the second night of a 2 night stay, Overall, poor quality & very overpriced.
Review 94:The garden was nice.
Review 95:Lovely B&B with a cosy bedroom and romantic garden, which leads you straight into the park. It's only a five minute-walk to the sea side and city centre, where you can find local pubs with good food and a supermarket. Melissa, the owner, is great: always ready to help out.
