Reviews for Citotel Hotel Saint Vincent

Review 1:Breakfast was more self-service than usual. Coffee came from a machine. There is no breakfast room as such - tables are set out in the adjacent bar-restaurant. All pretty functional, though the receptionist was helpful.

Review 2:The hotel is easily reached by car. Though it is out of town, it has a bar-restaurant attached so one does not have to go far for a meal.

Review 3:A proper shower over the bath would be useful

Review 4:Easy access to motorway good stopover on way down through France good parking for motorbikes food and breakfast was good

Review 5:Too far from the town to walk (fed up with being in the car all day) Very expensive breakfast

Review 6:Good location - for a motorway stop-over. Very quiet and comfortable Restaurant looked good - but we chose a short walk to eat somewhere else.

Review 7:Restaurant closed, Wifi had a registration with personal data sent to another supplier Room stank of smoke Breakfast was seriously overpriced for very dry and limited products

Review 8:Staff kind

Review 9:There was no iron, the bathroom could smell much nicer, there could be a proper coffee maker, an iron board, the wi fi/internet system was poor.

Review 10:The breakfast was alright, location ok, hotel reasonable

Review 11:Bathroom appalling. Tried to discover how air conditioning worked but told available staff would not be on duty until following morning. Smell of stale cigarettes pervaded.

Review 12:Nearby medieval town. Evening meal surprisingly good but Alsation wine terrible.

Review 13:Indifferent staff, dirty stained carpet,, smelly room seems like smokersused it. No air circulation. Buffet breakfast offered but egg cookingfacilities broken!

Review 14:Position is ok but very little else!

Review 15:Breakfast a little pricey at 9.70 euros but good quality.

Review 16:24 hour concierge so no codes to remember, relatively peaceful location and good breakfast with fresh breads and fruit. More hotel than motel!

Review 17:Difficult to find as hotel not signed off Rue Charles de Gaulle. Good signage would help as brasserie easy to see from road

Review 18:Friendly helpful staff. Dog friendly with access to outside area from room. Free wifi

Review 19:There was no hot water in the morning and staff was acting like nothing had happened. Poor knowledge of foreign languages. Inefficient check in (took more than 30 min.).

Review 20:* Location great if you want to visit Laon or drive for a couple of hours after exiting Calais * staff very helpful and pleasnt * good local restaurant in the same building, very handy for dinner * breakfast

Review 21:There was nothing we didn't like save it is a bit isolated from the city of Laon.

Review 22:We liked the cleanliness and comfort of our room. We like the food in the restaurant in the evening and it was nice to be able to boil our eggs at breakfast.

Review 23:Not possible to complain about anything. All staff were very accommodating and the facilities were very good. An ideal first or last stop when touring in France.

Review 24:The smell as you walked in , cleanliness was poor , ( the reception looked as though it hadnt been cleaned for weeks ) Our bedroom was just bearable ,( although that also was musty as though it had not had fresh air for weeks .

Review 25:The resturant

Review 26:The rooms were very 70's but comfy. Lacked electrical sockets and I didn't see a lift only stairs.

Review 27:I thought the staff were very friendly and helpful. Even to storing our bicycles for us in a safe place. Very friendly bar staff.

Review 28:Very bland decoration

Review 29:Bed was too hard

Review 30:Easy to find of the auto route, parking available

Review 31:Good location. Good food in the restaurant

Review 32:It was a bit deteriorated.

Review 33:It was well- situated and the bar and restaurant very convenient

Review 34:Poor reception desk staff. Couldn't find our advance booking.

Review 35:Clean, comfortable, convenient for breaking our journey.

Review 36:Friendly and efficient service.

Review 37:We usually have a Matrimonial bed which is very comfortable

Review 38:Hotel badly needs an upgrade. Rooms dated and shabby. Hand held shower

Review 39:Excellent good value restaurant. Lots of free parking. Room cheap.

Review 40:Stayed here on many occasions and the big fella is a very friendly and helpful gentleman. They do a great breakfast also.

Review 41:We didn't have any bad experience.

Review 42:The hotel was quite easy to find and the room was spacious.

Review 43:Very tired in all aspects.

Review 44:Easy acces to autoroute

Review 45:Tired rooms. Needs bringing up to date.

Review 46:Staff helpul

Review 47:The location was excellent. Staff very friendly. Ideal for a overnight stay. Would recommend the restaurant had a lovely 3 course meal.

Review 48:The breakfast was expensive for what was provided

Review 49:The room was clean and comfortable

Review 50:Decor and furnishings tired. Need to drive into town centre.

Review 51:Attached restaurant.Friendly reception and useful info.

Review 52:Restaurant facilities.

Review 53:Location convenient from Motorway to Calais, restaurant excellent and beds comfortable.

Review 54:Could do with a proper shower.

Review 55:Service, cleanliness, convenience and restaurant v good

Review 56:Restaurant food could be better.

Review 57:welcome on arrival after 6 hours tiring travel through France Excellent information provided regarding local amenities

Review 58:Great friendly welcome

Review 59:The very dated appearance of the hotel

Review 60:The price

Review 61:Shower was not good

Review 62:Clean. Near peage

Review 63:We were most most most disappointed with the food served. Worst meals (2) we had in three weeks travel.

Review 64:No frills, simple straightforward comfort. Helpful staff. Clean and comfortable, adequate accomodation

Review 65:nothing

Review 66:the kindness off staff, very helpfull, clean room, nice breakfast, parking

Review 67:Convenient for old town if you don't mind a good walk. Parking on site is useful.

Review 68:Convenient for motorway

Review 69:In nead of refurbishment especially the bathroom. Apart from this a good overnight stay

Review 70:Wheelchair accessible, polite, helpful staff who made my very old disabled mother feel very welcome and safe.

Review 71:The hotel had very dated decor and furnishings unlike advertised. The shower was practically unusable as there was no fixtures to hold the shower head and would be problematic for someone tall. The hotel did have an odd dated smell that was somewhat "smokey and stale". There was insufficient lighting in the corridors and hallways. The hotel was attached to a very large and busy bar/ restaurant which is situated only metres away from the hotel's accommodation and rooms. The WiFi system was very complex and had a number of different access points which were all unusable and some of which were insecure. The hotel was advertised as 3 star accommodation, however given the flaws and problems faced by the simple structure of the hotel itself, we didn't feel it was even up to 1 star standards. The hotel as a whole was similar to an out dated 70s motel.

Review 72:The breakfast was adequate with a fair selection of local produce. The staff were friendly upon arrival and departure, although breakfast was served by one individual staff member who was also preoccupied with other tasks such as check-in's and check-outs.

Review 73:Good hotel for stopover going south from ferry or indeed returning to ferry. Good Brasserie style restaurant attached and breakfast, typically French and adequate. Excellent value for money.

Review 74:The ambiance in the hotel dining room was relaxed and very pleasant. Waitress very good meal delicious and quicker than expected as the room was quite full. It appeared that the locals ate here also.

Review 75:Despite requesting non smoking rooms, one of our rooms smelt terribly of stale tobacco. Both bathrooms also had a similar smell. The carpets did not seem very clean. The solo staff member was minimally welcoming and needed asking to show us where the rooms were and to provide wi-fi information. The website did not state that there would be no bar until 6pm.

Review 76:The breakfast and the parking arrangements were fine.

Review 77:Musty smell in room on arrival, Ok when ventilated. Drinks were quite pricey. Décor looking tired in room.

Review 78:Easy to locate, good value via booking.com Good food in adjoining restaurant.

Review 79:Room stank of smoke which was so bad it kept me awake - it really was bad! You had to register to use the wifi ..... why?

Review 80:Handy for an overnight stop on the way to Austria. Good value hotel and the breakfast provided a good start to a long day.

Review 81:WIFI required registration to connect. Most hotels will give out password for guest to connect to the internet. I think it is pointless for this hotel asking guest to register in order to use their network.

Review 82:Staff was excellent. Room was cleaned and comfortable and sound proof. Location is easy to find.

Review 83:Had the impression that the hotel was a few minutes' walk (rather than drive) from the city centre but guess this is the fault of booking.com and not the hotel's.

Review 84:1970s decor and friendly restaurant staff. Laon is a wonderful city that is worth a detour for its architectural delights.

Review 85:Very tied, very worn fixtures and fittings, shabby small room, needs investment fast! We had no bathroom light (it blew when we switched it on in the morning) or window, so we had to wash and bath in the dark. We also had mould growing on the bedroom curtains.

Review 86:Checking out!

Review 87:rooms a bit tired and a bit smokey in parts. budget hotel but not that cheap

Review 88:easy access to major roads. restaurant good value for decent food - don't be put off by what it looks like!

Review 89:Small rooms; no lift and. worst of all, an all-night party took place in the room next to one of ours, with smoking such that my daughter was unable to sleep. Staff were aware of it but did nothing. Neither was any compensation to be had when we settled the bill. I would NOT go there again.

Review 90:If you have to be outside the town, the location is good.

Review 91:We've stayed there before and found it friendly, comfortable, unpretentious and very good value for money. Absolutely no qualms about recommending it.

Review 92:Annoying sponsored wifi requires you to watch a video each time you log in.

Review 93:Handy position if you are travelling across France only a short distance from the motorway.

Review 94:Very hard bed!

Review 95:The breakfast was excellent. The owner/receptionist very polite and helpful. The location just off the motorway was easy. Good spot for overnight when travelling through France. Good price.

Review 96:The beds were comfy, but the duvets were too hot for summer weather.

Review 97:Excellent breakfast. Very easy location for travellers, en route. Good for people with a dog, there's a garden at the back with access from each room.

Review 98:The room smelt very badly of stale cigarette smoke! Badly needed a refurb for the price paid Small amount of bread was brought to our table in a basket - would like to have helped ourselves Would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in our room The hand held shower in the bath did not have a bracket to hook into to enable us to stand underneath

Review 99:The on site restaurant was very good value for money with good sized portions. Beds were very comfortable

Review 100:A little basic.

Review 101:It is very easy to get to and from the motorway, so ideal for a stopover. Staff friendly. The availability of wifi. Beds comfortable.

Review 102:location near the motorway system, the area just on the city outskirts the reception on arrival was perfect we were very well informed about our room the adjoining restuarant and others in the city itself. also places of interest to visit. our room was very well presented with with a fab bed and an exellent bathroom witha super shower, also tea and coffee facilities. the city of laon must not be missed with its medievil cathedral cobble stone streets and its history. would not hesitate to book this hotel in the future with a longer stay viva la st.vincent hotel a perfect stopover or a weekend break.

Review 103:Staff really friendly - helped with finding the local cemetery for CWGC Good location for the town and motorway Close to main road bu quiet and comfortable

Review 104:Excellent location to break a long journey. Relaxing and convenient. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good restaurant - superb room-service breakfast.

Review 105:The shower in our bathroom was only enclosed by a curtain, which ledto water being spilled over a very slippery tiles floor. It nearlyczaused an accident. I would recommend the installation of propershower cubicles.

Review 106:The warmth of the welcome, the comfort of our rooms, with interconnectingaccess. The restaurant service was friendly and the food of goodquality. The hotel is very convenient to the motorway, which makes it anexcellent stopover on way to the south of France. It is also convenientto the city of Laon, which has good parking places near to the cathedraland restaurants of the city centre.

Review 107:No pretensions to architecture. More a motel. But a very good one. Fair priced on the booking.com deal but not cheap

Review 108:The staff particularly the manager were wonderful and helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. We had excellent steak in the restaurant one night (I mean really really good, tender and cooked medium rare perfectly). The location is ideal not far from the motorway. Just up the road is a Mc Donalds look alike and a Buffalo Grill (chain like TGIF but cleaner and better food) - both did what they said on the packet. Bed was wonderful and just firm enough. Bath / shower / loo was fine and clean with good towels. Parking easy and free. Breakfast had boiled eggs, hams, real cheese, yoghurts, cereals, croissants, toast. Perfectly fine.

Review 109:Rooms very basic. Very poor ventilation and consequently a prevailing smell of damp. Bathrooms not ventilated adequately if at all.

Review 110:Convenient, easy to find location. Good, inexpensive restaurant. Helpful reception staff.

Review 111:Very convenient and easy to find as a transit stop close to the A26. Friendly and efficient staff.Surprisingly very quiet with all adequate facilities. We did not eat there in the evening but in a restaurant in the charming mediaeval city as recommended by the concierge. Generous breakfast available at extra cost. We would be happy to stay there again. Free parking on site.

Review 112:There did not seem to be a lift, which was no problem for us, but could be for some.

Review 113:It was easy to find and very conveniently located at edge of town, so it also had a pleasant ambience, with views to countryside and little allotments at the rear. Parking was no problem. The room was good size, bed very comfortable, large screen T.V. En suite facilities were clean and functional, but just a little dated, e.g. with hand held shower attachment on bath taps, but all worked well. The restaurant seemed reasonably priced and the evening meal we had was good. All the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Review 114:The window was not safe to open during the night as it was a door that opened straight into the car park- did not have option for a small vent opening.

Review 115:Perfect for a stop over en route to Switzerland. Good sound proofing.

Review 116:the hotel is quiet and easy to find for those using it as A stop-off on A long journey. facilities are good in the room and bbc is available on the tv.

Review 117:We went passed the entrance to the hotel car park before we realised. Should have the hotel sign at the entrance to the car park as we didn't see the name on the hotel building until we had gone passed the car park. It probably isn't an issue if approaching from the opposite direction.

Review 118:Friendly staff, easy access to town and main routes to/from Laon.

Review 119:Shower over bath with no means of attaching shower head to the wall totake a "normal" shower.Continental breakfast costing €9 I thought was a bit expensive for what was on offer.

Review 120:Nice staff, clean rooms good value.

Review 121:Carpets in hallway might need replacing soon to maintain quality/ambience.

Review 122:Warm welcome, pleasant, quiet room with very comfortable bed. Excellent restaurant quality/price with local specialities and helpful and efficient service. Enjoyed our stay and would recommend. Acceuil chalareux, chambre tranquille avec lit confortable. Restaurant excellent rapport qualite/prix avec des specialites locale et service exceptionnelle. Un bon sejour, recommende pour tous.

Review 123:Breakfast very good

Review 124:Basic hotel but as it was only for a one night stay en route it servedits purpose. When we arrived however the receptionist said he had nobooking for us but he followed up with that it was not a worry as he hadplenty of rooms available. A bit worrying as what would have happened ifthe hotel had been busy. Hotel room very basic however on all our onenight stays it had the best breakfast with a good chioice and plenty offood available. There is a grill restaurant and McDonalds nearby if youdont want to eat in the hotel in the evening. We did not eat in thehotel restauant in the evening so could not comment on the food.

The Fine Print
