Reviews for Juliots Well Cottages
Review 1:Overpriced for the time of year, out of season. Lots of lights not working, looks tired, ready for a revamp to update. Mixed array of crockery and knives forks etc.
Review 2:Quiet location, nice to have washing machine as it rained most days!
Review 3:Check in and out could be improved, still haven't received deposit back 3 days after checkout.
Review 4:Great location, well equipped cottage, loved the log burner!
Review 5:Washing machine didn't really work and dryer part of washing machine didn't work at all which was disappointing. We didn't realise there wasn't a bath which was an issue with a small child but overall it was good.
Review 6:Good little base for lots of nice day trips
Review 7:The lighting needs attention. Only 1 light worked in kitchen instead of 3. The light inside the front door did not work. Shaving light and cooker hood light did not work. The hair dryer needs to be put in a more obvious place - on top of a wardrobe was not easy to find!! The skirting board in the bathroom had fallen off.
Review 8:Location; clean; well equipped
Review 9:Firstly we booked and paid on line and the next day was called to be advised that the accommodation we booked was over booked and ..would we mind alternative accommodation? We made no fuss and happily agreed as long as it was dog friendly. However ….I was not happy with the customer service I received over the phone a couple of weeks later ...as we had a family death 14 days before our break and the funeral was taking place on the day of our return. I called up to ask if I could change the dates to a week later as we would not be able to attend the funeral in North Wales and get back from Cornwall to Sussex in the same day. I was told I could not change dates and I would loose my money. So I said that I would think about it and see how we felt nearer the time (not really in holiday mode with the recent passing of a loved one) and perhaps we might not bother going, at this point I was told that I could not just not turn up... I would need to advise them that I was not going.. so that they could let the house out again. (and make double money??!) We went on the holiday and drove back to Sussex dropped our kids off and then drove to North Wales the same night Totally exhausting a bit of compassion and thought for our grief and loss would have been nice. The relaxing holiday was soon forgotten with all that driving. I did not ask for a refund simply a date change in exceptional circumstances. Shame, I will bear this in mind when using James Well Cottages again. I must point out the sales adviser was polite and courteous it was company policy that I thought was not very customer focused.
Review 10:The location was great, the house was fab and very warm. All good. Everything you needed was in the house. Collecting the keys was easy. I am unable to comment on entertainment on site as we did not go however popped in for a drink and they were very nice friendly people. We used it as a base and it was great base to get out and about. No complaints really very pleased.
Review 11:Nothing really. The cottages are in a group of 4 self contained units with parking. Very good value for money if you just want a quiet break but with amenities close by.
Review 12:Adequate open plan space in quiet location. Log burner and plenty of seating. Clean & modern. Ideal for short Winter break. Friendly pub/restaurant 30 seconds walk. Camelford, Tintagel, Boscatle all 10 minutes in car. Polztheath, Port Issac, Rock, all within about a 20 minute drive.
Review 13:This is Booked through breaks in Cornwall where No email for key code safe details were provided as stated and company is late refunding security deposit at present
Review 14:Could do with some hooks or hanging space for coats. Free WiFi would be a good addition for the site.
Review 15:Compact but comfortable. Easy access to surrounding area. Good shower. Paid WiFi worked OK. Central heating boiler problem sorted out same day.
Review 16:Shower was the only issue. Dribbled out and was hard work to wash properly.
Review 17:The cottage was clean and welcoming. Perfect for a relaxed stay. Home from home feel. Fantastic stay
Review 18:The kitchens could be better supplied, they are not greatly equiped if you want to cook, however i prefer to eat out on hols so this is not a major problem as there are some lovely places to eat.
Review 19:I love the location, it's a great base to get places in cornwall and there are some great little coves and beaches all nearby. I have previously stayed here and I love the cottages, they are well appointed and comfy home from home
Review 20:Horrible wailing noise outside back of cottages throughout our stay. No return of deposit despite many attempts to reclaim it. Not obviously apparent that £100 deposit is going to be taken
Review 21:nice kitchen. pool well maintained bad check in procedure
Review 22:Pool opening times. Overall the standards were reasonable but the attention to detail regarding cleanliness could be improved. Rather a lot of dust on staircase and skirtings.
Review 23:Everything at hand like you would have at home. A good central location for visiting a number of excellent beaches and other points of interest.
Review 24:The only thing that disappointed us was the outside space. The furniture needed and clean the mat back into the house was mouldy. It is a nice space with some new furniture and sun loungers and some plants & flowers in pots would improve it no end.
Review 25:The cottage was very well equipped and very comfortable. We could not fault the cleanliness. The kids loved the pool which was actually heated!
Review 26:ground floor toilet door sicking so bad my wife had to climb out the window, hurting herself in the process. Dirty tiles in the kitchen, mirror not cleaned in bathroom and very untidy patio area
Review 27:We wanted a beach holiday. Distance wise it is not far from excellent beaches, but time wise it takes far too long to get to on the small Cornish roads. Expected to pay a premium for internet access; If buses and trains can provide this service for free, then I would expect a holiday home to be able to do so, especially as the accommodation was not cheap. Arrival instructions did not include a postcode. The washing machine appeared to have an integral tumble dryer, but could not get these buttons to work. Minor faults such as towel holder broken in downstairs toilet, and washing machine door didn't always lock and on one occasion water came out. Also TV a bit small for size of room, and discarded cigarette ends found in garden. Don't get me wrong, this accommodation was very good, but the location was the main problem for us.
Review 28:Accommodation was very good and located in a nice quiet rural location. Nice to have a washing machine & dishwasher. Comfortable beds.
Review 29:Our back door did not lock.
Review 30:Nice and quiet location. My daughter had her own room. Half bath down stairs was convenient. Near a few attractions we wanted to see.
Review 31:They charged us for £100 per property as an additional security deposit which was not stated in the booking.com. The location was not clearly sign posted. No soap for shower nor the foam sponge for washing dishes…
Review 32:Liked all of it can't complain
Review 33:The property was very clean but a little tired.
Review 34:Convenient address for what we were planning to do.
Review 35:Lack of "welcome pack" for things like heating controls, local services eg shops etc, good places to eat.
Review 36:Easy of access to unload.
Review 37:The door locks could do with replacing.
Review 38:The space, the comfort and everything we needed.
Review 39:No heating, poor TV location
Review 40:No hearing 1st night! Not good enough
Review 41:One issue ; on our last day we woke up to no electric could have been due to weather no sure, just a bit inconvenient at the time

Review 61:location
Review 62:The only compliant we have is that upstairs in the cottage we stayed in had a bad squeak every time u walked across the Landing/bedrooms etc... We took 2 teenagers and a 1yr old so the noise was a huge problem for us
Review 63:for the 2 days we were there, there isn't anything i didn't like
Review 64:Such a lovely area, the cottage was great with everything you could need, every clean and well presented I took my grandchildren with me 10 and 7 they really enjoyed it the play area was near enough to us that they could go on their own, we only used the coach house for dinner for 2 nights the food was excellent and reasonably priced
Review 65:There didn't appear to be any outside bins that belonged to the cottages and when we spoke to onsite staff they were disinterested as we were frequently told the cottages were nothing to do with them.
Review 66:The house was very clean and well presented. The house itself is only a short drive to lots of lovely areas.
Review 67:Kitchen equipment was not enough for two people let alone any more, the frying pan was just enough for one, the utensils should be plastic not metal. Shower didn't drain was blocked up with lots of hair and filth from previous tenants.
Review 68:Cottage in General was lovely, comfortable and clean. Area was peaceful, not to far from local villages. Would come again
Review 69:The cottage was not as clean as expected: with a broken wooden picnic bench in the hard with nails protruding out - could have been dangerous with young children. Also was a bucket full of cigarette ends in the yard mixed with water.
Review 70:It was nice to arrive and enjoy the break without any one hassling us. Enjoyed the facilities provided
Review 71:There was nobody there when we arrived, so a neighbour had to ring to get us the code to get in. It's quite a long way out of town, and a dark walk back. The shower was awful - hardly any flow, the drain was blocked and it was extremely slippery - actually really difficult to get out. The floors were really creaky so it was impossible to walk around without disturbing people. Such a shame because otherwise it was perfect.
Review 72:Really well equipped and very clean. Nice grounds.
Review 73:Just everything about the stay I booked same day as travel Being able to come and go freely No hanging around for keys It was great and so helpful that beds were made And welcome packs Just like staying in a hotel But self service
Review 74:Radiator in bedroom didn't work. No desert spoons. Pub not open even though advertised by you that it would be. Dirty towels and bed linnen in washing machine.
Review 75:Comfortable bed
Review 76:The cottage was a little home from home with everything you needed to have a quiet break. The beds were comfy and bed linen spotless. The pub was friendly and the outlook and park was well maintained.
Review 77:The garden could be more tidy and presentable. There was mold and limescale around the taps in the bathroom.
Review 78:Very nice and comfortable cottage good facilities. Surrounding area was very lovely if you like long walks in the countryside.
Review 79:Garden furniture needs updateing
Review 80:quiet comfy well equiped cottage
Review 81:Lack of info regarding the operation of the kitchen equipment mainly the oven.
Review 82:very quite and clean site.
