Castle Saalhof is a historic castle in Maishofen, 1.2 miles from Lake Zell. Vaulted ceilings and unique wooden panellings create a unique atmosphere and guests can relax in the on-site spa area, which features several saunas including outdoor saunas, an infrared cabin, panoramic windows with mountain views, and a relaxation room with sun loungers.
All rooms and apartments are equipped with a flat-screen satellite TV and free WiFi. Apartments provide a fully equipped kitchen with a dining area and a dishwasher. They come with a bathroom with a hairdryer.
A children’s playground is available in the garden. Sun loungers are provided on the sun terrace where guests can enjoy panoramic views of Hohe Tauern and Großglockner. Barbecue facilities can be used by guests.
On the farm next door, children can feed the animals, including cows, pigs, chickens, rabbits and goats, collect eggs in the morning, and enjoy horse riding free of charge.

The castle is located within a 10-minute drive from the Saalbach-Hinterglemm Ski Area and 5 minutes from the famous Kitzsteinhorn Glacier. A free ski shuttle bus stops right outside the castle.
Hiking trails start right outside. Several restaurants serving local cuisine are within a 5-minute walk.

Review 3：Maishofen is not a very exiting town and doesn't offer a great variety of restaurants. However, larger towns like Saalbach or Zell am See are just a short drive away.

Review 4：The castle has a great atmosphere and really stands out as a landmark in the village. Kathrin, its host, is very kind and has delivered us a (mostly homemade) delicious breakfast. Our apartment was well designed and offered all necessary luxuries.

Review 11：Easy to find, close to ski bus, pretty village. Very clean, good beds. At first glance not quite my taste in decor and no balcony - but it is a castle. Huge TV with all the channels although we only looked at Schmitten. Well equipped kitchen with nice crockery and fast dishwasher. Very friendly to children with lots for them to do.

Review 12：Matresses should be firm. Religious symbols are every where in the house. I advise them to remove them from the rooms at least.
