Reviews for Hôtel du Nord
Review 1:We were only in Macon for 24 hours but the location was right in the centre and close to Saturday food market where we stocked up for our boat trip. Tastefully furnished and very friendly staff.
Review 2:Breakfast was a little expensive for the selection and street parking difficult to find and costs extra. No real curtains in the window. Just shears that didn't even cover the whole window.
Review 3:Very friendly staff and the room updated, modern except for curtains. Comfortable bed.
Review 4:We tried this hotel for one night, perfect. Good for jogging lovers too, you can start running in front of the hotel, along the river. A lot of restaurants in the surroundings.
Review 5:WiFi did not work, our slightly absentminded host at reception told us we had to reboot our (foreign..) phones to make it work. Still not. Next morning, after making remarks upon checking out, he informed it was a known technical issue at the top floors......
Review 6:Rooms were nice, though a bit small. Linked rooms, only one with air-conditioning so also our kids could keep the high outside temperatures out a bit. Recently renovated, good bathrooms. Host indicated where we could park best, behind the hotel. Nice breakfast
Review 7:The family owned hotel was excellent and the owners were so very happy to assist with plans. Recommended a great restaurant and arranged transportation for us. Very clean hotel small location.

Review 13:The central location in old Macon. Great price-quality value compared to those standard hotels you find all around France outside city centers. It was located just 10 minutes from the autoroute. Perfect.
Review 14:Location - near the heart of Macon at a wonderful time of the year. Overnight parking near the hotel in the underground park on the esplanade - very safe, good value and an easy walk from the hotel. It's easy to park outside the front door of the hotel to unload/load.
Review 15:No Parking unless you are very lucky, as I was at 4.30pm, and find a space along the quai in front of the hotel. Otherwise quite a walk to the public parking places.
Review 16:Very good location by the river and near to all restaurants and shops. Pleasant little room and comfortable bed after I had removed the plasticised mattress cover!
Review 17:Was apprehensive about lack of parking but there were plenty of free spaces on the road outside.
Review 18:View across the river; air conditioned; sound insulation (on a busy road but you can hear a pin drop in the room); lovely bathroom, comfortable bed, big HD TV.

Review 28:The hotel is literally on the banks of the Saône. There was a special room for bicycle storage. We arrived on a very rainy day in July and were greeted by a friendly, understanding staff. The room was warm and quiet and adjacent to the Voie Verte for our trip to Tournus the next morning.

Review 71:Street parking nearby could be a bit hit and miss but is free overnight and cheap during the day.
Review 72:Good location, modern rooms to a good standard in old building. Worn stone on the staircase gives the age away!
Review 73:Fantastic location right on the river. Well placed for bars and restaurants on either bank. Free on street parking right outside (albeit we were there on a Sunday). River view rooms allocated to low cost internet booking.
Review 74:No parking so we had to find the nearest paid bay (which late in theafternoon is no mean feat) then walk to the hotel with bags - not idealat the end of a long journey.

The wonderful view of the Saone is still there in spite of some building on the other bank. Swans are still there too. Good food available locally. Park your car outside and walk in.

Review 96:Macon was a bit dissapointing, apart from the most beautifull planting of the public areas. The town is not a patch on its neighbour, BEAUNE.
Review 97:Very friendly owners and very helpful. Although hotel has no own parking, they offered to take bikes off car and store overnight on premisses. Parking was 5 min up the road. Clean, tastefull rooms and excellent value breakfast.
Review 98:The room we had overlooking the river was sadly rather small, although we were offered a choice of rooms by management. had it not been for this we would have given an excellent rating above for everything. The choice of room was of course our decision so perhaps a little unfair. Otherwise well located near many bars and restaurants and main shopping areas.

Review 100:Hotel is situated on a main road. I would assume the rooms at the frontof the hotel could be noisy
Review 101:A very friendly hotel. Staff were excellent - very friendly and helpful. They made room so we could park our car outside the hotel. We asked fora quiet room and were given one at the back of the hotel which wasreally quiet. The room was a nice size and had good quality fittings andfurnishings which were aesthetically pleasing.
