Reviews for Hôtel Le Versailles

Review 1:The hotel is pretty, clean and quiet and very close to the palace and train station. However the staff are quite cold and a bit rude. One, EVERY time we were at reception she was on the telephone with personal calls while we stood there waiting for assistance. The last time she did this while we were waiting we took turns using the restrooms and were still waiting... I speak enough French to be certain they were indeed personal in nature, and we don't mind waiting a reasonable time but ...

Review 2:very nice looking and clean, room was a pretty good size for France. Bathroom was roomy enough as well and had a bathtub. Has a kettle in the room. Very very close to the front gates of Versailles, maybe 5 min. walk, and only 15 minute walk from the Gare Versailles Rive Gauche, which is the closest train/bus/taxi stand station to the palace. Nice garden area. Quiet.

Review 3:Very friendly and helpful staff, nice clean rooms, comfortable beds, quiet hotel, free parking in secure lot, one block from the palace. A wonderful experience, can't be beat.

Review 4:I thought it was a bit expensive. When I booked only expensive roons were available but when I got thrre the hotel did not seem to be so full really

Review 5:It was really convenient for visiting Versailles chateau

Review 6:There was nothing I did not care for.

Review 7:The Location was perfect and the staff was friendly and helpful. The ambiance was calm and the prints of Versailles on the walls were lovely with the quite contemporary decor. The breakfast choices were just right.

Review 8:Maintenance issues. Electrical plugs hanging from wall. We request an upgrade, because the bath tub was falling to pieces. And standard room very small.

Review 9:I loved the location - really close to the Versailles Palace. It was also very easy to get transportation to and from Paris - with a short walk between the hotel and the Versailles Chateau - Rive Gauche train station. 30 - 40 minutes of train ride to central Paris, though. The hotel itself was clean, we had a good experience for our 4 nights there. Excellent breakfast (buffet downstairs), not too many drinks in the mini bar, complementary bottle of water each day. No "stunning view" to the palace. Although the hotel is really close to the palace, it is hidden behind a set of buildings blocking all views to the palace (we stayed at the last floor - the 5th - with no view at all to the palace). Pleased to have stayed here.

Review 10:We used this as a 5 day base for Paris and surrounds and it would probably have worked better to have stayed closer to the station than to the Chateau. External steps to reach reception a tad annoying with luggage (and no help).

Review 11:Great access to Chateau, restaurants, patisseries, supermarkets. LARGE room, well appointed and recently renovated. Breakfast was good value for Versailles.

Review 12:The car parking is very tight and hard to get in and out, it looks like it used to be free, but now they charge

Review 13:Fantastic location vey close to the entrance to the Palace of Versailles, lovely small hotel and breakfast is fantastic

Review 14:We had a room with very small bathroom for a 4-star hotel

Review 15:The hotel has great location if you came to see Versailles palace and gardens. It also has its own garage if you are travelling by car

Review 16:The system of bathroom is not quite good, hard to change shower nozzle.

Review 17:Beautiful decorate for room and friendly service. Convenience site to visit Chateau de Versailles. Yummy dessert bar.

Review 18:Nothing.

Review 19:Perfect stay at a perfect hotel. Very convenient for walking to Palais du Versailles and may choices for dinner. Excellent restaurant close by. Stairwell was carpeted and had artwork. Quiet room and air conditioning worked well. Bed was very comfortable and room was spacious. Did not have any meals or use any services. Front desk staff was helpful.

Review 20:The elevator was very small. You need to go down a half flight of stairs to get into the hotel.

Review 21:The rooms were clean, comfortable, nicely decorated and roomy. The breakfast (which was extra) was OK, but not spectacular. The location was excellent for visiting the Versailles Palace.

Review 22:Nothing to dislike. If you want to have a parking space try to book it in advance as there are limited amount of spaces. The car park is tight so be prepared to drive carefully in a tight space. Parking is €15 a day.

Review 23:Breakfast was excellent, room was very clean, ideal location to get to Versailles chateau and close by to restaurants. Staff were helpful, plea sent and courteous. Thank you to all the wonderful staff.

Review 24:We had no bad experiences!

Review 25:Friendly helpful staff, safe secure parking, close to the chateau and trains to Paris, brilliant breakfasts, fridge in bedroom, lovely bathroom, very very comfortable.

Review 26:We did not notice on booking.com that we were not allowed a pet. Wearrived at 10:30 pm, exhausted, with our dog after having spent theentire day moving our things to a new apartment. The very nice gentlemenat the front desk did not say anything to us about the dog. The nextmorning, the horrible woman at the front desk pretty much told me off infront of other guests for having a dog. No one told us that we could nothave a dog, yet she felt the need to tell me that it is writteneverywhere and berated me in front of other guests. After that wedecided to just have breakfast and leave the hotel asap. At breakfast, there was no more milk, no more hot chocolate, no more coffee in themachine, and not much of a choice for breakfast. And, when we went backup to our room, we found the cleaning lady in our room even though wehad put out the do not disturb sign. We will never go back to thishotel. It is listed as a four star but is really only a three star atbest. The ceilings are too low, the elevator too slow, and the frontdesk staff during the day sub par.

Review 27:The location is great. The two gentlemen working the front desk at nightare lovely!

Review 28:The breakfast was disappointing; the coffee machine produced lukewarm 'cappucino' (although the ordinary coffee was hot and much better), the cereals were cheap and the cooked offer very limited.

Review 29:This hotel is in a great location, close to the Chateau, market, local shops and churches. It has been refurbished and the comfort levels are very good, the wi-fi reliable and a wide variety of TV channels available.

Review 30:Morning to check out, but I thought keep to my luggage until 16:00, it was denied that there is a large luggage to women staff. In order to avoid the trouble that say, in advance muted mail, and had been the hope in the phone also to booking com, it was useless. Staff of men without unpleasant face when Been last time, keep my luggage. once in two years I go to Versailles, but I will not stay in this hotel any more

Review 31:location and quiet was good.

Review 32:double bed in family room turned out to be sofa bed, too uncomfortable and small for grown ups, fine for kids, if they are ok with sharing a bed

Review 33:kids don't pay for breakfast

Review 34:Underground car park is very tight but free!!

Review 35:great location to visit the palace. about 5 mins walk. The room was very spacious and had all mod facilities. The staff were very helpful in organising a guided tour to the palace for us. Parking was free underground.

Review 36:Rooms quite small. Staff did not offer ANY information to make the Versailles experience run smoothly.

Review 37:Excellent position for visiting the Palace at Versailles. Very clean.

Review 38:Would have preferred fresh coffee at breakfast rather than from a machine

Review 39:Great location for visiting the Chateau of Versailles, short walk from the hotel. A row of cafes and restaurants nearby. Large family room (one of the best I have stayed in!) - very comfortable beds and enough space for family of 4

Review 40:Located right opposite the Palace, which was are only reason to be there, the local area is great, with lots of small restaurants and bars. Also, remarkably quiet.

Review 41:The sound-proofing between the rooms is extremely poor for a 4-star hotel. At times it felt like I was sharing the room with other people.

Review 42:The staff were very helpful. The air-conditioning worked well.

Review 43:All the basic facilities you'd expect from a 4 star, plus friendly and helpful staff (when our room wasn't ready upon check in, they made it high priority as we were travelling with a baby, and turned it around quickly), cot was provided speedily, on site parking easy, breakfast good, pleasant decor....and the key appeal = the brilliant location! Room was basic but as you'd expect for a 4 star standard room.

Review 44:More knowledge for staff on the local area for tourist info would be useful

Review 45:Location excellent Tea and coffee making facilities Clean and comfortable

Review 46:Very difficult parking especially if you have a big car. Bathroom only adequate expected more at a four star hotel. Lack of a restaurant a disappointment.

Review 47:Quality of the bedroom.

Review 48:There was nothing I did not like.

Review 49:Liked the position and the staff were very friendly and helpful with my french. Air conditioned room in heat of 36C was wonderful.

Review 50:Wifi weak. Nearly nonexistent at night when everyone trying to use it

Review 51:Food, room, very clean, wonderful reception, right next to nice shopping area, next to Versailles but still quiet

Review 52:We stopped at Versailles on our return drive to Calais from the south of France and we were not disappointed. Versailles itself is lovely with lots to see and do (not forgetting the palace of course!) the location of the hotel was perfect within a stones through of some lovely bars and restaurants but set slightly back which made it very peaceful in a vibrant place. Our only recommendation would be to book the car park at the hotel in advance, the website when we booked said we didn't need to do this however when we arrived we were told it was fully booked. There is lots of parking around the hotel with pay meters though if you cannot get in. You will also need to pre book to get the access code to the car park.

Review 53:Parking on site is extremely limited and very tight (large vehicles / SUVs may not fit. There are only 20 spaces and no reservations are taken (first come, first served).

Review 54:Beautiful hotel within a very short walking distance to the Palace of Versailles. Our room was large and the bed was a king size and very comfortable.

Review 55:We asked for a double bed and got 2 twin beds. We queried this but were told the hotel was full, however we booked in advance in the month of February. The quality of the light fitting was poor in the bedroom and there was no mirror above the desk for drying my hair.

Review 56:The breakfast was good.

Review 57:After a fairly long plane and car trip we arrived to be greeted by Edith(we found out her name, only on the last day). who was so helpful and obliging! Nothing was a problem and the only hiccup, a slow drain, was fixed promptly the next morning. The laundry service was excellent.bed and linen were good quality and considering, The Chateax, was only a couple of minutes walk away, the hotel was very quiet, day and night! The breakfast was very good and everything was fresh, however one of the clearers could smarten up!!!!!Restaurants and bars were a minute away and the major dining area about a ten minute walk away as was the market with a huge range of food. Versailles is a Delightful city and to spend two or three nights at this hotel, will brighten your holiday!

Review 58:Breakfast is not a feest; disappointed with a limited choice and coffee in a pot.

Review 59:Friendly personnel, well-equipped room with a good taste. Close to the Chateau.

Review 60:We had a room with a connecting door which was not sound proofed. A 2 in the morning the couple came back to their room and started to argue and smoke both of which kept us awake until we called reception to rectify the problem. It would appear that this hotel, along with it would seem, most others do not cater for long stays with insufficient hanging space.

Review 61:Nice room and very comfortable bed. Very ear to the Palace.

Review 62:They have reasonably priced hotel parking if you call ahead to reserve it. We had called ahead to reserve it for 4 nights, but were only able to park under the hotel for 1 night. The hotel suggested the Versailles parking lot which would have been 60 euros/24 hours. We found a different underground lot several blocks away that was 22 Euros24 hours.

Review 63:The location can't be beat - close to Versailles and close to many cafes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was delicious.

Review 64:Nothing

Review 65:This is a great hotel. Modern, quiet and literally a five minute walk to the Palace of Versailles. The room was a good size, bed comfortable, duvet warm, bathroom good size. Bonus: a kettle in the room! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Plenty of good eating places within anything from a 2 minute to a 15 minute walk.

Review 66:The wi-fi connection is very poor. We had breakfast one day (EUR 15/ person) and it is not worth it, it is not a breakfast for a 4* hotel.

Review 67:The location, the value for money in comparison to other hotels in the surroundings. The room was small but comfortable.

Review 68:No real bar facilities, there is a bar area but the receptionist serves, not a huge issues as liads of other bar/cafes really close. Breakfast is quite pricey at 15 euros each, but is a decent buffet with eggs, saussage, cold meats, cheese, bread, croissants and pastries, cereals etc so you can get good value if you are a morning eater.

Review 69:Literally 4minutes walk from the Chateau, ideal location for visiting but a little pricey because of this. Tiny underground car park ( not for the faint-hearted) but not bad value at 15 euros the night. No restaurant on site, but loads of good cafes etc locally, they do offer a quality looking ready meal in a box but we preferred to eat out.

Review 70:The receptionists were very polite and friendly. The bed was big and comfortable. The room was large and had all that was needed for a short stay. I was even allowed to leave the car parked there for a couple of hours after checkout while we visited the palace, thanks.

Review 71:A spread of restaurants were a little bit of a hike and most offering pretty much the same

Review 72:A great hotel with secured parking Would stay again if in the area

Review 73:We loved the friendly greetings and helpfulness of the staff and their eagerness to help us and make our stay enjoyable. The hotel was extrememly comfortable and the location was great; both factors extremely appreciated after a long tour of the Palace, outer buildings and gardens.

Review 74:Nothing much!

Review 75:Only a minute walk from the Versailles Palace but within a very quiet neighborhood. Had a secure underground parking for our car. The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. The staff at the reception was very friendly.

Review 76:messed up our reservation and told us we had only booked one room and then had to find us another only to fine in the morning that they had found the original reservation

Review 77:Clean, well equipped and good location for the palace

Review 78:bathroom a little scruffy considering place looks like its recently had a makeover. Cleaning and maintenance going on in foyer during check in.

Review 79:great location 1 minute walk to palace, yet still quiet location. Close to bars and cafes. big rooms well appointed.

Review 80:The room was very nice and clean, the bed was comfortable. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel is at 1 minute by foot from the Chateau de Versailles, and at 5 minutes from the city center. Very good hotel to stay!

Review 81:Breakfast can be more rich. It was a little bit poor for the 15 Eur.

Review 82:Very good location, very friendly staff, very comfort rooms and bed. Hotel is exellent.

Review 83:Following the reservation, we have upgraded our room to superior, however even though we asked for a double bed, we received a twin room. Not very convenient.

Review 84:The location is very good, rooms are clean and spacious.

Review 85:We visited to Versailles purely to go to the palace so we were delighted it was a two minute walk, There was also a lovely restaurant called Au Chapeau Gris a two minute walk away. The staff at reception were incredibly helpful and the beds were so comfy we had to force ourselves out of to go and visit the palace! Great Value for Money.

Review 86:My husband and I slept on a sofa bed that was not all that comfortable. The other couple with us slept on twin beds that were good though.

Review 87:The hotel was conveniently located and was clean.

Review 88:Wifi was a bit slow.

Review 89:The location is amazing and you can walk to everything. There are also several cute restaurants near the hotel. The hotel is literally one block from the parking lot of the Palace. The staff was always very kind and helpful. Their English was also excellent.

Review 90:Elevator was broken and did not work during our entire stay . We had to carry the luggage all the way up to teh stairs.

Review 91:Location was great . Staff was quite nice and helpful .

Review 92:Rooms a little smaller than expected, rooms were quite stuffy so had to keep the window cracked open.

Review 93:Very friendly staff, very close to the palace and close to restaurants. Close to train station for excellent links into paris

Review 94:Great location only minutes walk to palace and restaurants. Excellent wifi and onsite parking. This hotel was perfect for what we wanted to do in Versailles.

Review 95:No room service No iron/iron board in room No refrigirator/minibar in room Sockets hanging out from wall. Broken lamp. Fire alarmstarted 6 am (burnt bread in kitchen). No fire brigade came. Hotel couldnot turn off alarm. Very high siren in the hotel for at least 3 hours. Not 4 star by any international rating.

Review 96:Good pizza delivery from outside the hotel.

Review 97:For our entire stay ( four days ) the lift was " out of order ", the hotel did try to remedy the situation, by calling out numerous engineers, all to no avail. We were in rooms on the fourth floor. The hotel did give us free parking, the stair workout, was I hope, beneficial.

Review 98:Location, we have stayed at this hotel many a time over the years, the underground car park is a boost, you can then use the rail services into Paris ( a three day pass cost is about 35 euro ), so everyone can have a drink and enjoy themselves.

Review 99:Parking was very useful however felt a bit rushed to get the car out on the day of departure despite paying for the day and there being plenty of other spaces for arriving guests.

Review 100:We liked the location, the breakfast was good and the mattress was comfortable

Review 101:Hotel could hardly be any closer to the chateau, Good secure garage parking, albeit with a very tight entrance/exit. Very spacious bedroom although we only booked a standard twin room.

Review 102:Location is great, parking not an issue (hotel can provide parking - not expensive at all) Staff is friendly and always helpfull (A++) Thank you Edith and all your staff!

Review 103:The pillows were thin and the toilet was not properly cleaned. I had to wipe it upon arrival.

Review 104:The front desk man with the mustache was wonderful and very helpful. We liked the charm and breakfast was decent.

Review 105:Not even water was provided for guests, which shall be quite a standard for a "so-called" 4 star hotel. My bed is very light and it moves. The room is quite old and needs a bit of renovation with the stars it claims.

Review 106:Great location. Cleaning staff is very considerate because my key card wasn't working and he helped activate the card for me without me running back to front desk. They offer International New York Times.

Review 107:I thought it was quite expensive compared to other similar hotels however I suspect these were Paris prices and therefore could be classed as reasonable.

Review 108:Close to Chateaux, good eating places. Nice room with windows that opened and an excellent shower which after 27 hours travelling was great. Staff flexible and very helpful

Review 109:Though it was very useful to have a parking space (15 euros per day), bewarned that the underground car park is really tight to negotiate ifyour car is a larger model.

Review 110:We were so close to the Palace entrance that we were able to plan ourtours in short shifts, returning to the hotel for a break or two. Roomand public areas were really comfortable.

Review 111:Semi-close to Paris, Not far from Trappes. Staff was nice and the rooms were comfortable and cozy. Breakfast was good (healthy). Will stay here again.

Review 112:Poor breakfast - limited meal choice, it is not what you expect for 15 EUR per person. Despite cold and wet weather, the heating system did not work, so it was cold in the room. Specific smell in the corridors.

Review 113:Home-style attitude. Great proximity to the Palace and to all main attractions.

Review 114:No tea or coffee-making facility in room Breakfast was 15 euro Room price was too much for facilities offered

Review 115:Staff were wonderfully helpful and friendly Hotel was spotlessly clean Over the road from the Chateau Junior suite was quite spacious

Review 116:No fridge in the room - convenient when late arriving and just want a drink before bed.

Review 117:Large room, comfortable beds, clean bathroom; so close to Chateau

Review 118:Right beside palace for easily access. Excellent front of house staffEasy train trip into Central Paris Good local restaurants within 10Minutes walk Taxi fare to Charles de Gaulle around 80 euro

Review 119:It was small, crampt. The TV failed. Poor wi-fi. The customer feedback from the previous client had been left in the room. It felt like a 3 star hotel so 130 Euros a night did not feel like good value for money

Review 120:The receptionist was excellent in helping us solve poor wi-fi Very near the palace and gardens

Review 121:Friendly staff told us some great tips about the night time Versailles show and we walked over got tickets and managed to stumble back late with the kids to the hotel which is just so close by!

Review 122:Location very convenient for Versailles palace and lively local restaurants but quiet and peaceful. Convenient free parking (but maybe only in August.)

Review 123:The breakfast was overpriced and shockingly bad for France--tinned fruit, when the local market was overflowing with fresh fruit, inferior bread and pastries.

Review 124:The location is great for the Chateaux.

Review 125:I was glad we brought our own pillows, as the ones provided were very, very thin.

Review 126:The location is excellent. The chateau is only a few minutes walking distance. There are also plenty of restaurants and shops within a few blocks radius. Our room was clean and comfortable, wifi was strong and it had a great shower. Both front desk people we met were very friendly and helpful and spoke excellent English. The parking was also very convenient.

Review 127:Very small bedrooms. very tight car park

Review 128:Nicely decorated reception and breakfast room. Reception staff very helpful

Review 129:Could hardly be more convenient for the Palais Royale. Welcoming friendly staff and very comfortable clean hotel

Review 130:Small, noise heard from other rooms and hard bed.

Review 131:Ideally located and had parking.
